Came in around 2:40 the waitress greeted us and led us to the table. After menu surfing my mother ordered a cheeseburger fries and strawberry shake "sorry we're out of ice cream but I'll check " that changed our order to pina colada smoothies and fries. Waitress came back with the smoothies and no ice cream so we ordered another pina colada smoothie and they were delicious. The cook I think came out with the food quickly and fries were delicious my mother's burger was dry according to her. The poor only waitress was running all over trying to help everyone. This definitely isn't the old Applebee's that we had been eating at for the past twenty years. What restaurant has no ice cream when they serve shakes? I miss the memorabilia on the walls it's lost it's hometown feel. This was the first time in after the remodel I liked the old decor. The only thing good about this location is the food itself and how late they are open. They have the absolute worst service of anywhere in Grants Pass. Servers are always talking in groups at the back of the bar, Ignoring customers who walk in, never checking up on tables, and by some stroke of luck after 30minutes your able to get someone's attention to ask for a refill, they will go back to their conversations forgetting about the refill- or just flat out not caring. We're supposed to tip people who refuse to do the bare minimum?! And then they get rude when you ask again for the same refill 15minutes later. 10/10 do not recommend. Applebee's should be ashamed! The owner of this establishment should literally FIRE the staff on tonight, with the only exception of the 1 person that took our order (a woman with dark hair, shorter, and mid to late 40s). The hostess (a younger 20s person with dyed box blonde hair, black glasses, and a fowl mouth to match her attitude) turns people away at 9pm on a Saturday night (they close at midnight) with less then 10% of the restaurant seated. Telling Customers "F^ck my life" "your not going to get served" "it's going to be hours and you probably won't get food". She was extremely mean, rude and disrespectful to our ASD 7 year old when she was looking at the menus on the front desk, and the 7 year old was trying to talk nice to her. Her cussing was in front of an extremely polite table of BMX children. And she typed more on her cell phone than literally the seconds she would stand at her place and spew vile vocabulary at both customers and the people walking out because of her disgusting behavior. The pink haired person that equalled the hostesses, attitude enjoyed snickering at her behavior and further enjoyed tossing plates one at a time down on tables, then rushed away so that the poor recipients of the under cooked, cold or just wrong food, couldn't not be told to him, as it was not his problem, he was not meant to be serving. A extremely polite couple sat at the bar for service, and was never acknowledged except by the door dash people that were also standing around getting the same treatment from staff. After about 30 mins, they left. There is so much more, but I will just move on to the health Hazzards we experienced and had served to us. We were directed by the hostesses to sit (not seated at but pointed and thrown menus at) at our dirty food covered table. With food and trash under and around on the sticky thick groos floor. Pics included. We were brought the only cups to the table 2 waters, an ice tea plain, and 2 sodas. Our order was taken, then we were left sitting there. Approximately 30mins later the 1st set of still frozen cheese sticks were brought out. About 20 minutes later we flagged down a person that sent the hostess over to microwave the untouched frozen to the touch cheese sticks. She made some very choice nasty comments and brought them back. STILL COLD pictured also. We then got 3 signature dishes that are heavily advertised served at room temperature, and 2 kids meals with no appropriate silverware, condiments or anything. I prefer steak, mash potatoes and broccoli served at the very least warm. And 3 cheese pasta should have melted cheese and no cold salsa. At this point we decided we were done... no one was eating but the kids WITH FINGERS NO SILVERWARE. I asked for someone to clear the table of full untouched plates and bring me the bill for what was eaten. 2 kids meals, 2 sodas and a tea....$29.35 No refills, filled with ice... 1 meal- 2 chicken tenders and a packaged applesauce. 2nd meal- 1 corn dog and a packed applesauce. THAT WAS ALMOST $30 and served cold. My 4 year old ate the corn dog, the about 30 mins later threw it up. So 5 people paid $40 ( I tipped the only person that showed up to work and provide service $10 for her 10 mins of interaction with us) The person that came out claiming to be the manager. He looked like a dishwasher that hates his job. He allowed the 2 previous mentioned employees to stand near by, giggle and make fun of our complaints. He only changed our bill because I actively told him we would not be paying for the other and that I had picture proof of how bad it was there. NOW FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!!! We were told by 3 separate employees that they don't make the food there. No seasoning, or anything. It comes made, the heat it up how you tell them and serve it. The "garlic mash potatoes" pre-made and not seasoned. "Just heated per order" same with the "the seasoned broccoli" the pasta, the steaks. All just heated up... they just put the servings on a plate. They don't even know what seasonings go on them, and the don't have them there. The "manager" was 1 confirming this to us. It's all heat and eat type tv dinners at top dollar. Also why you can't sub or make changes to the dishes. Im furious, disappointed and discussed.... Again 5 people walked in hungry, and 5 people left starving 2 hours later and $40 less in pocket... You have a better chance at food, manners and respect at a soup kitchen. read more

We have eaten at multiple Applebee's in Oregon and unfortunately this one was the worst. We have ordered the same meals at other locations and the quality of the food at this location was only fair. Just came back from the refurbished Applebee's / IHOP for Veterans Day dinner. Have been going for the last 5 years. Tonight was the worst experience ever! Sat for 45 minutes after ordering, over-staffed personnel with nothing to do except come by our table and ask how things were going. Not good!! Wait person had to check on our food order at least 3 times. Almost walked. Meal finally arrived, warm not hot, as you would expect. Wait person told us that every time he checked with the cooks, they would yell at them. The warm and friendly Applebee's that we use to frequent was not comfortable anymore. Will never go there again even for this special day! I think the merger ruined the restaurant and experience! read more

Applebee's has really changed for the better since the last time I was here which was about 2 years ago! We were seated very fast by the hostess and our waitress was friendly and took our order immediately. We knew exactly what we wanted as it was our favorite thing to order back in the day....the chicken broccoli fettuccine Alfredo with the garlic bread stick....and for our appetizer we got the mozzarella cheese sticks. Honestly? This meal was a 10 out of 10. So delicious! Came out hot and fresh. The noodles were perfectly al dente, the broccoli was crisp but not raw. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a char on it that added an incredible flavor! I mean dang, I seriously could not have asked for anything more. read more

We and a friend of ours decided to give this restaurant a try for dinner. Upon walking in, we were seated very quickly but not offered water or drinks to get started with before the waiter came to get our order started. We waited several minutes while watching 10 employees hover around one table chatting with one woman who was obviously someone in management complaining loudly about how she would've loved to have taken a customer who had obviously upset her out into the parking lot and beat their butt. A few minutes later the waiter Carlos came and brought water and took our drink and dinner orders. The food came and it was dry and not flavorful and they forgot my fries. Carlos came back with my fries after I inquired about them but they were definitely not fresh. They were cold like refrigerator cold and stale and old. They were not freshly prepared by any means. We sent them back and politely asked for fresh fries. The manager looking lady that everyone was hovering around then asked about why they were being sent back and quickly flashed us a disapproving look and looked completely annoyed at us for even asking for fresh fries. We would not recommend this restaurant to friends and family to visit and will not be returning to dine there. There is something to be said about unfriendly disengaged employees who make customers feel unwelcome and we could've spent our $101.00 having a much better experience with much better food elsewhere. We ordered all you can eat tenders and each refill took about 30 minutes to be ordered and come out. We did not have a waiter and most of the staff was unhelpful and dismissive. We ended leaving after an hour and a half after we were brought a check that we did not ask for. We would have continued eating but did not have time to. We also would have split the check but nobody was around to assist us even after 20 minutes of waiting. We ended up putting cash on the table and leaving, which was not noticed by the staff. We should have left with the life size Dwayne Johnson cutout because nobody would have even seen or noticed because nobody (with a couple exceptions) in that establishment cares. read more

Normally Applebees is okay and not worthy of reviewing one way or the other. I've always felt their service to be slow even when not busy yet still friendly enough. Now that it's also an ihop (which is a great idea ) but unfortunately it's increased their business yet they haven't increased their employees. There are either not enough servers or they claim the cooks are backed up. Three times we have given this a go since the addition of ihop. Every time wait list whether crowded or no people waiting. Bar empty told you can only order drinks there now because cooks are too far behind. So hire another cook? What the heck? Seriously? 3 times attempted and it hasn't even been merged for that long. So disappointing it's obvious breakfast joints are lacking like ihop style but won't know if they keep this up. I refuse to wait for stupid reasons it's solvable and no one is doing a thing to improve it. read more

5 stars for an Applebees??? Yea I know. A chain restaurant? After a long day of traveling from Sonora California to Grants Pass Oregon. We were really tired and hungry. So we settled for the nearest restaurant that was open. Applebees for me is always a hit and miss where we live. So I don't expect much when I eat at any of their other restaurants. So when we walked in and were greeted by a very nice young lady it was a very nice surprise and didn't have to wait for a table when there are clearly available tables. Which is the case at the Applebees where we live. We were seated promptly and as my wife went to use the restroom she mentioned what she wanted to drink. A water with extra lemon. Well our server Melody was paying attention from the table next to us and was on it. Man I was flabbergasted. That's something you rarely see these days. Especially in a food service environment. Not only was she paying attention she was very friendly and showed pride in her work. I don't care what you do for a living. Work is work. Show you have a good work ethic. Bcz you never know who's watching. We opted to share a plate of chicken Alfredo with Asiago cheese. Being that it wasn't very busy it didn't take long for our food to arrive. It was very good and she made sure we had an extra plate. Now I don't think much of chain restaurants. But this visit to this particular restaurant was very good. My husband's steak was burnt and dry, my chicken Alfredo didn't have ANY Alfredo sauce and when I told staff it took them so long to get me sauce that everyone else on my table had finished their dinner leaving them to wait on me. I have always liked the fettachini here,unfortunately the last two times I have went there its been so bad ,so dry I couldn't eat it.Tonight I spent 29.47 for the fettachini a piece of bread and a side salad.From what I am told when I order extra sauce that cost 3.00 or so , is that they have certain specs and they are only allowed to give so much sauce. Well I ordered extra sauce and I still couldn't eat the sticky mess. I have a problem with all these places raise the price of the dish because of the economy but then they also cut out the quality of product and then they give you smaller portions. I don't really have too much to say about our dining experience tonight, so I will keep it brief. My family and I ate here on a Friday evening at 6:00ish. There was no wait time, we were sat immediately. The restaurant didn't require masks. Our server took our orders with a smile, but we didn't see enough of her honestly. Or it seems like we saw her at the worst possible time; She'd check on us when we didn't need anything, but whenever we needed something, she was nowhere to be found. Food was exactly as you would expect from Applebee's. Cooked right, except for my bread stick; it was too hard and overcooked to eat. The Dr Pepper tasted watered down. It took forever to get our food; we must've waited a good 30 minutes for the appetizer, and another 15 for our entrees. Followed by waiting forever just to get our check and pay. Not the best service I've ever had from Applebee's, but not the worst either. read more

I would love to say 5 stars !! I love their oriental chicken salad. This is the third order nothing was correct...my husband ordered the ribblet dinner with extra sauce. Let me list out what was wrong 1) this was our last order!!!! called in order through dash did not trust they would give us extra sauce. So I called to speak with staff to ensure they get this right. the employee was super distracted and said "oh yah yah we can do this" then asked me again "now what was that again you needed" seriously wow. Told him I would like the extra oriental sauce. Husbands order received no French fries or extra bbq sauce and so cold he had to put it in the microwave. My chicken salad no extra sauce which we ordered twice!!! 2) last time we called at 7:00 pm to place order to pick up. They are open until 8 pm. Only to be told sorry they are no longer taking orders because they are too busy and no staff. 3). Third order! Ordered through their website thinking that door dash was the issue which it clearly is NOT When we went to pick up order we asked "can we receive and extra oriental sauce" only to be told we should have ordered the extra sauce on line. Which we have told them more than once there is no place to add this to the order. Upper Management needs to look into this less than organization lack of customer service staff!!! I came here during a family visit in Grants Pass. Mom considers this fine dining so I agreed to her dinner choice. Yes, the menu and decor is no different than any Applebee's. The staff were exceptionally nice here and our server was very patient with my curmudgeon mother who asks multiple questions on every menu item and is never happy with the answer she receives. So bonus points to our server. I got some boneless buffalo chicken as an appetizer (actually pretty good) and then a half rack of ribs with fries. The ribs were not very meaty and the portion seemed small but flavor-wise I thought they were fine. I don't dismiss a restaurant for being a chain. This place is okay and exactly what you'd expect when you walk into an Applebee's. read more

I apologize, im not very good at leaving bad reviews so please bare with me. Arrived restaurant was empty but still took 25 mins to be seated. Wife ordered salad which was so over dressed it was literal soup. I ordered a steak with broccoli instead of mashed potatoes, it came out with potatoes instead of broccoli and the steak was bitter. Let the waitress know about missing broccoli and it was dropped off 30 mins later with a "better late then never" comment from waitress. Waitress was overwhelmed with the three tables she was attending to. Do yourself a favor and just drive by. Very miss leading marketing. Online they indicate cocktails to go. So, my daughter wanted one of the specialty drinks. Nope, don't do it anymore. Siad they can't check an ID. I told them I'd be picking it up and the web site didn't say anything about that. When I questioned it, I was told "well that was something we did during Covid". Really? So what is the difference? PLUS, covid has been over for a tad BUT they still have it on the web site. If it wasn't Sunday and everything is closed, I would not order from here. This is just wrong. I just returned from Applebee's after having dinner there with my dad. Unfortunately I can't say that the meal we each had was acceptable. We both had the 8 oz bourbon steak dinner (part of the 2 for $35 deal). While the bbq chicken as an appetizer was ok and larger of a serving than we needed, the steaks were awful. We both requested medium rare and were served very well done. Ok, so cooked more than we liked but the steaks themselves were also the most tasteless, and borderline inedible meat I can recall having in a very long time. I so hope that the fault was an inexperienced cook and not the standard there. Unfortunately even the mashed potatoes with them were completely tasteless. The wait staff was wonderful- prompt to help & very attentive. The restaurant was also clean with a good atmosphere. The only issue was the food which isn't their fault. We kept our dissatisfaction to ourselves and paid our bill then left. Can't say we will be returning to this place or any other Applebees in the future. read more
