It's nice to find a place that has actual bands instead of DJs that just play electronic or hip hop music. I've seen a lot of really great bands here. If you go outside in the back there's another room with 2 pinball machines ( yay!) , darts and pool tables. Oh and a jukebox. In the main area they also have a gambling machine room which I've never been in. They don't just feature bands, they also have a stand up comedy nights & burlesque shows . The only thing they could improve is the presentation of alcoholic drinks. Get some proper martini glasses . I don't want my dirty vodka martini in a plastic cup or wrong glass. It messes with my costuming, lol! The last time I went my brother and I saw the Reverberators. They were fantastic. I had a draft cider which wasn't super sweet, thank you. And the fish & chips. Stopped in Grants Pass to visit an old friend who helped build this place. Fantastic venue! I've been to lots and lots of live music establishments over the years. The Sound Lounge is something very special. We saw Supersuckers on a Tuesday night and it was amazing. I've seen sold out shows in LA on a Friday night with less energy than this place had. The sound is amazing. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. I know, I'm really overusing the word amazing..... If your in town you must stop by. Even if it's just to check out the rock concert poster collection or play pool. Don't skip it, go there. read more

Had a bad experience coming here. I was bringing my significant other from England and we drove 45 min from Ashland to get there. We are both well over 50, but they would not let my significant other in because she didn't bring her passport along! She had her English driving license,but they would not look at that and insisted she needed to show them her passport! What a crock! Simply ridiculous and very unfriendly. I've never been treated like that in England. The security guard seemed proud of himself, saying he turned away a number of Israeli women without passports! This is not a way to welcome customers and was simply mean spirited and senseless. Believe me, we won't bother to visit again! Many, many better places in Ashland that treat customers right and aren't petty and full of themselves! What a mean place. read more

Just had Valentine's dinner with my love on the new deck. Atmosphere was beautiful and warm for this chilly rainy evening. Service was great, but the food... wow. I came here while on tour with my band, When We Met. This venue takes good care of their artists! I had a delicious pulled pork sandwich and a couple whiskey sodas during our hang time. Came in a few weeks ago to grab a bite, heard about some live music happening so we decided to stay and check it out. Food was average and unmemorable, but the music was great. Two local bands, fresh stuff, no covers. My friends and I like to *dance* and the environment suited it well; many were dancing in the stage area, and it was a really fun time. The sound system is alright, though I admit I would have expected a little better from a place styling themselves as the sound lounge... but it was certainly good enough to have fun! Patio out back was a nice spot to cool down afterwards and chat, too. Didn't try anything from the bar so I can't speak on drinks/prices. Will definitely check out shows here in the future, when I'm around Grants Pass. read more

Made reservations for 2 tables for a show, but they wouldn't let us in because they were "at capacity" even though our 2 tables were empty (a couple friends had gotten in and were at our tables about 15 min before. Just the place downtown Grants Pass needed! The new Sound Lounge has great cocktails, kombucha and a delicious full menu featuring local meats from Cartwright's and the best home-made fry sauce EVER - all served until closing. No wimpy bar menu here! Live music or DJ on Friday and Saturday nights and Burlesque Bingo on the last Thursday of the month. I loved my vodka tonic with a splash of Dana's homemade marionberry syrup. The large back patio has a nice covered area and misters for those hot summer days. Pool tables and lottery make this a great spot for the entire crew! read more

We went here to listen to our friend's new band and was really impressed! We didn't even know this place existed but now that we do, we'll definitely go back!! There's dancing, food, cocktails, and great music. What more could you ask for? We definitely want to go back because after reading some reviews, we need to have a meal there!! read more

Super fun vibe here. The sunken bar has office desk chairs on wheels around it, giving the bar a relaxed feel. The venue has tables and a little dancing area. They also stock a good line up of taps for us beer drinkers! I'd definitely be back. read more

They have great live music and most are original artist not cover bands which I appreciate. Best music venue in southern oregon!

I am not super familiar with Grants Pass but the venue was pretty easy to find. I found it to be a bit disorganized when they started the cover charge. I didn't eat off the menu but it looked and smelled good. The bar staff wasn't impressive, long waits to be served but I guess that saved me some money. At one point the women's restroom wasn't working, there were some unhappy ladies when it was either the men's room or somewhere else. Talent was top notch. which was exactly why I was there. I probably wouldn't come back unless they booked another of my favorite acts. Maybe they just had an off night but some of the patrons were kinda shady. I also found a beer bottle someone had placed under my vehicle which I just happened to hit with my foot and find or I probably would have ran it over. I think if a couple of area's were looked at this would be an awesome place! read more
