Just what I was looking for!!!

Live not too far from this place and have been wanting to try it and boy am I glad that I did! The pork ribs are delicious, rice tasty and the fries perfect.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch on the west home from a car show at the 4-H fairgrounds that turned out to be a dud. There are about six tables inside and a few outside. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. There were so many options on the menu, it was hard to decide what to order. My wife went with the pulled pork sandwich which comes with French fries. She said it's the best pulled pork she's had. It's not overly vinegary. I ordered the 1/2 BBQ chicken platter which comes with rice and French fries. The skin was crispy and the meat was so tender, it fell of the bones. When we're in the mood for BBQ, this is where we're going.

Had been jonesing for some Portuguese BBQ. I was between dr appts and lucky for me, this place was close enough! Got their one of their lunch specials: 2 kebabs of my choosing (beef, chicken, or pork), rice, and french fries for ONLY $10.50!! What a steal! The food was good. I got the beef and the pork. I favored the latter. The fries were perfect. The rice was too wet and tasted too much like celery to me. I HOUSED half of it and took the rest home for dinner. The staff was sooo nice but I do have a gripe about the a few things. This place was not express about anything so if you're in a rush, this is not the place or maybe put in your order before you get there. My food took a long time to come out but also, a lot of the folks who came in with pre-orders still had to wait so just a heads up. They are not quick. And another thing, the parrot. Maybe it's just me but it was like a smoke detector with a low battery.

Saw this place driving by and decided to check Yelp and the reviews look good so I turned around and came here for lunch. I had lunch inside. There is limited seating. I'd prefer to take out if I live close by as the people that are ordering are right in the middle of the seating area. Friendly staff running the place. I got the pork ribs with french fries and black beans and everything was very tasty and freshly made. It was a lot of food even though I got a half order so I took half to go. I was surprised that when I warmed it in the microwave it actually even tasted better warmed up.

Called in a takeout order on a Saturday night recently. This was my first time trying this restaurant. The food was very good. You have to understand and be prepared for what you're getting. This isn't fancy food and it's also not southern BBQ. It's Portuguese BBQ which is just simple marinated meats cooked over an open flame. We got a half portion of a variety of the entrees and each one was large enough for two meals, if you have an average sized appetite. Each comes with rice and French fries. We were able to substitute beans in place of the fries where we wanted that. However, the amount of beans that they gave us was kinda small. When you order takeout, remember, the fries get soggy. The amount of skirt steak in the entree was ample and it was cooked to order according to our requested doneness. The chicken cubes were very tender but I wasn't the biggest fan of the sauce and veggies that came with it. The beef ribs were cut in the same style as Korean short ribs and they were tasty. The pork cutlet had a delicious and tangy marinade but they were really thin and unfortunately very overcooked and dry. The person who took my order over the phone was very friendly and thorough. When I arrived to pickup the order, the staff were in a great mood and very attentive even though they were super busy. I need to come back to try the BBQ chicken.

***Note for new customers, Portuguese churrascaria is very different from American BBQ and features more seasoned, grilled and sautéed churrasco style meats that are closer to dry rubs or briskets. Don't expect to get sweet BBQ sauce; you won't need it anyway!*** This is going to be a new fave!! FRESH authentic Portuguese food with HUGE portions. We had the half order of chicken cubes and pulled pork and it was phenomenal. Every table in the restaurant was full for a weekend late lunch, but despite the small number of front of house staff, they were on top of *everything*. We'll be back again soon and I'm dying to try the Paella!

Even though I am a Louis Prima fan (sorry for the obscure reference) the bone to meat ratio just doesn't make up for the higher fat content. At least for me. This guys ribs changed that. You don't eat these ribs so much as you hold them up and allow the meat to dive into your mouth like an Olympian off the 10 meter platform. They are that good. And I have eaten enough brisket in my life that writing a review including a reference to pork is probably something I shouldn't do publicly, but his is top notch. Lastly, I come on this site and often see reviews regarding the personal nature of the proprietor of the business, which are sometimes so vicious and misplaced, it is not a mystery why the writers of South Park want to feed some of the members of this site what they want to feed them. To that end, if you have a problem with either Dan or his staff, I would have to say that the problem is most likely with you. They couldn't be nicer, more courteous and helpful. I know that sounds like a lot for serving somebody BBQ but those fairgrounds on a weekend can be a certified nuthouse. At no time did I see anyone lose their patience or desire to help the customers. Five stars all the way.

I ordered an apple and a chocolate with sprinkles. The apple was really good! It was freshly baked, and the filling was delicious and had a nice cinnamon flavor. The chocolate was also very good! They are big donuts too! 2 for $5. Now to the delicious soft pretzels! They are freshly baked, soft, buttery, and delicious!!! You can also get them in garlic, cinnamon, and sour cream and onion. Or a buffet that no longer buffets. But pizza is a big part of their menu and a lot of people order it. I can tell you, from sight alone... I wouldn't call it pizza. It's cheese, toppings, and an extremely flat crust that I can only imagine crunches to smithereens. So I went very much with not pizza. Fortunately, the menu goes many other directions. I got a hot chicken sandwich with Cajun fries, basically regular fries with a little seasoning sprinkled on (not baked in). Took a little while to get to us, but once it did, I was impressed with the spice level. This is not for the faint of tongue. The fries were perfectly cooked, but I would say just get plain fries if that's your vibe. I could have upgraded to onion rings or similar, wasn't feeling quite hungry enough for that venture. Verdict: I don't know. It's not a diner. It's not a pizzeria. Definitely seemed kid-friendly. I think my date liked this place more than I did. So again, I'll go with the balance and stick 4 stars on the wall. Could return, not sure what else in Flemington might attract (seems fairly restaurant-barren).

The interior is modern and up-to-date, paralleled by its brick historic vibe exterior, as the Stangl Factory building was once a pottery/ceramic factory. The restaurant is tucked behind a Walgreen's and proximate to an urgent care on a side street off Rt 31, so that might explain it. We arrived for dinner on a random Thursday. The dining room is large, clean, bright, and had a lot of empty tables, but few patrons. They have a take-out business and it was sort of rainy outside, so that explained it in my head. The server came right away and took our beverage orders (it's a BYOB and I still can't get used to that concept). We ordered our meals after our drinks arrived. I like to keep it simple on a first visit. If you've seen my other reviews, it sorta makes sense. I got the linguine, with mushroom sauce and meatballs. It gives me a chance to see if the pasta is boxed or not, how fresh the ingredients are, the taste of the sauce, and if they can make a decent meatball. The linguine was made in the kitchen from scratch and the mushroom marinara was delicious. The meatballs are amongst the best I've had in the area, including two NYC Little Italys (Manhattan and Bronx). The salad was fresh and crisp and the bread came out warm and delicious.
