I remember a saying that one may not remember another's action's details but surely will remember one's effect one another's feelings. I didn't write down all entrees I happily got though descriptions are fried tilapia, squash in coconut, abodo, skewers (2 of both chicken and pork), and longasia (handmade sausages). Lumpias were sold out else I'd definitely gotten many of those. I'll come earlier than 14:40, 00:20 before their closing time, next time. Everything was delicious. The fried fish was so deeply satisfying after so long without such fried food. The squash (kombuchari, Japanese-style) in coconut was neither plain nor boring but such tastiness as to inspire my making it. The abodo was super delish with great depth, perfect balance of sour and savory and depth. The skewers were beloved by my parents who have wanted well made quality skewers since they want quality if eating out, and thankfully, the cooks didn't disappoint us. The longasia were awesome, handmade with the thoughtful recipe and the individual attention of this beloved eatery. I have so much to say about how the owners are so heartfelt and personally involved in the cooking and all operations. It meant so much to me to have wanted to come here for a solid year plus because it was a precious new entrant to the Flemington food scene, both for being so unique to central NJ and being in an area that's more known for its diners and fast food options. Location is super convenient just south of Costco Flemington on the busting NJ-31S with plentiful parking in the back and a few seconds' walk from any spot to their warm happy door. Their site has the well-known GDoc menu which changes daily, happily so to give color and interest even to regulars. I'll make it a point to eat here during my biweekly procurement runs.

Another catering yummy success from Philippine Cuisine! They're so accommodating with my family's dietary restrictions, and made all the flavors worked! Jun even delivered our catering orders- which made is so much easier for me!

My dad discovered an amazing Filipino place right in Flemington! I'm so surprised because Flemington is not a great place for good food (my opinion only). There's not a lot of selection, but their food had such great flavor and was not too oily. They have three different menus of sorts. When you walk in, there is a list posted of what pre-made hot foods you can choose from that day. From those hot foods, you can do either a buffet style option or a combo for $5.50 where you choose two things and it comes with rice. They also have a menu with one side listing items that are cooked to order: lumpia, crispy pata, halo halo, etc. On the other side, they have a very extensive catering menu where you can order a day in advance. For each thing, you can order either a half tray or full tray. We've only gotten the combos. So far I've tried the BBQ Pork Skewer (this adds an extra $0.50), Sinigang na Baboy (tamarind pork soup), Menudo, Longanisa, Shanghai lumpia, and Laing (taro leaves cooked in coconut milk and pork). My favorites are the longanisa and and laing. The sausage was absolutely delicious and reminds me of Taiwanese sausage. Very sweet and juicy. The laing was likewise delicious. My tastebuds were in heaven after the first bite. The leaves were cooked down until really soft and stewy. My favorite part was the delicious strong shrimp paste flavor in the laing. I could eat it all day every day. The longanisa and laing are my favorites, but everything else was delicious too. The pork skewer is slightly sweet and charred nicely. The tamarind soup has a sour taste. Usually tarmarind dishes are sweet and sour, but I like that this was sour only. They also freshly fry the lumpia so it's super crispy and not soggy from sitting there a while. In addition to hot foods, they also sell pastries from Christine's Bakery. I've tried the Hopia Mongo (mung bean pastry) and the Hopia Baboy (pork flavored pastry). The mung bean one is kind of bland, but the pork flavored one was so good. It's not actually filled with pork, but filled with this wintermelon filling instead. I guess they use lard in the pastry for the pork part. It tastes kind of like a Taiwanese sun cake, except with a flaky pastry. I'm so surprised that Flemington has this little hidden gem. If you're in the area, definitely stop by for some delicious Filipino food.

What a little gem in Flemington! I've ordered several dishes and they're delish! I've had arroz caldo, sinigang pork belly, adobo, egg rolls...deliciousness! Don't forget to try all their silog's for bfast or brunch! This place delivers the Philippine flavors to your home! Check out the take/out or delivery menu.... YES YOU CAN ORDER AND THEY WILL DELIVER TO YOUR HOME... SCORE for me!

The store is large with many options. I was very shocked by the size and what they offer. Checker was not friendly which was very strange to me but maybe she was having a bad day. The first breakfast catering was wrong. I had ordered a 4 parfaits that serves 10-12 as I was hosting 40+ people. The driver was in coat with me and was waiting for the parfait. When the order arrived it was missing the yogurt and granola but did have 4 berry bowls and 4 individual parfaits. I did immediately call and the initially offered to take half the cost off, I did not believe this to be fair as I had only received the fruit which if purchased separately would have been significantly less. After being on hold for a few min they were able to credit back an acceptable amount. They also recognized that I also had an upcoming lunch and they would make sure it was correct. Lunch did come and it was correct and delicious. We have another order coming and hope it is correct

Popped in yesterday to buy a few things for a nice meal and was debating between the ready made salmon meal, or frozen. Overall, a great experience and you can't beat the prices, or the fact that they have a liquor store attached. Makes one stop shopping simple and easy! The store is always crowded, but never loud or unpleasant.

If you review one Walmart, it seems to me, you've reviewed them all. But this one is different…read more Some years ago, I was laid off, and it was terrifying. Outside of that pervasive, enervating fear, though, there was almost a dreamlike quality to the whole experience. Beyond looking for work, and making sure I got that unemployment check promptly, there were no demands made on me. I could go to bed when I wanted; I could get up when I wanted; I could watch TV all day if I wanted; I could drink all night if I wanted. Luckily, I had a friend who was unemployed at the same time I was (lucky for me; unlucky for him-- he had had his own "head-hunting" business and had been successful back in the day, but years of drugs and alcohol had taken their toll). Sometimes he'd call me and we'd go somewhere close by (we didn't have a lot of disposable income for gas or road trips) just to get out of our homes (he had more reason to get out of his home than I did mine; my girlfriend had left me long before, but he had a wife and kid, and the wife made her displeasure at his joblessness very, very evident). He introduced me to Walmart. He'd say, "I know you're ethically against Walmart, but you gotta eat, and...obviously...you aren't making the money you once did." Point taken. The first Walmart we went to was in Branchburg. It was depressing, and I was ashamed of the circumstances I found myself in, but it was close to where we lived and over a period of some months, I started getting used to it. Then the Branchburg store closed. I always figured Walmart functioned like the Mafia and gambling-- it couldn't fail, wasn't subject to the same vicissitudes of the economy that other businesses were subject to. But the Branchburg facility failed, for whatever reason. My friend began driving me to nearby Flemington, an area he was more familiar with than I was. I guess it's subjective, but Hunterdon County never really appealed to me; my heart always belonged to New England and upstate NY when it came to rural beauty. We'd drive down a flat, bleak country road, meandering our way through Whitehouse Station, Readington, Flemington (which was briefly "famous" for the Bruno Hauptmann trial back in the 1930s). I've spent most of this review space allotted to me digressing about unemployment and uninspiring country drives, but let's get back to cases...why is this Walmart different? Well, it has an enormous grocery section, the most extensive of any I've seen in any of the Walmart's I've been to (which, in fairness, haven't been that many). If you're going to Walmart for food, this is the one you want to patronize. They have their own deli/bakery. I've never been able to summon up the courage to try anything from their deli/bakery, but it exists. They have a fresh fruit section that's actually not bad. They have their rows/aisles set up, just like a regular grocery store. There are some brand name products; there are also a lot of brands that I've never heard of. Instead of Chicken Chow Mein, they'll carry Beef Chow Mein. If you want sweet corn, they'll have wax beans. But they have frozen food, bread, ethnic food, soup, dairy, soda, etc. etc. It may not be what you'd be buying in that high-end King's over in tony Bernardsville if you had the requisite cash on you, but if you're desperate and poor and you need food, well...it provides. If you come to Walmart primarily to buy food, this is the location you want to patronize. Getting back to me (and I'm not as narcissistic or self-involved as I might seem in these reviews...seriously...), I was finally able to obtain another job, and the necessity of buying at Walmart became less necessary. Perversely, I'll still come here occasionally. It's actually part of a larger shopping complex that opens up onto Rt. 31, which I try to avoid. I take the back road in, and I usually leave the same way. The parking is pretty straightforward. In all ways beyond the grocery section, this Walmart is like every other Walmart you've been to. It has a store selling hot pretzels and cheap fast food. There's a Walmart store-within-a-store that gives eye exams and sells glasses. There's a pharmacy. You can buy cheap clothes, cheap dishes, cheap clocks. Sh*tty DVD's and Cd's are for sale. They have approximately 10 checkout counters but only 1 or 2 will actually be open with dazed clerks to ring you up. (They also have the "self checkout counters" available, as they do in every grocery store I've been to-- I avoid them on principle; besides depriving an actual human being of a job, I'm supposed to be "checking myself out" like one of the minimum wage clerks that they no longer employ, in addition to paying for the food? No thanks.)
