I went to Run On! after a visit to my podiatrist and am unbelievably impressed with my experience. The manager Ashley helped me for 30-40 minutes, listening to my specific request from my doctor. She was very professional and knowledgeable and even helped me find a pair that was on sale. Before I left, she also re-did my laces so that it helps relieve pressure on a bone spur. Had a killer experience in March with finding racing gels. Went back a few months later to get fitted for a pair of marathon training shoes. The moment I told the salesperson "I'm a minimalist runner (have been for 5+ years) and I need something with a bit more support than my Vibrams" he proceeded to lecture me about how the barefoot movement is a "fad" and that I should probably go to REI instead. Sucks - I was about to drop some major change in there too. Won't be back - will definitely stick to REI in the future. read more

Although I was using (what I thought at the time) were good branded shoes from a sports discount store my knees had got to the point where I thought my running days were over. I stopped into Run On on a whim, just to see if there was any chance for me. They spent close to an hour watching me run, walk, jog & stand and apparently I have a very common pronation. They sold me a pair of shoes to correct this and literally within 24 hours all running pain was gone and my knees have never given me a single problem since. I shopped here for my latest pair of running shoes, such a great place! I had a pair of Asics that I loved, but I had run a few races and my latest 1/2 marathon in them, so it was time for an upgrade. The selection is not too overwhelming with shoes strictly pertaining to running. The sales associates are Amazing! I had Heather ( Sorry if I have the name wrong) and she was great. She watched me walk to see the way I walk on my feet, and came back with 3 pairs of shoes for me to try on. All 3 were great, she had me run around the store, try jumping, etc just to get the best idea of the fit. I chose another pair of asics and I couldn't be happier. I am so glad I went in to this store for shoes. I don't run, but walk a ton and stand for long periods of time. I have spent tons of money on shoes that weren't right for my feet so I went here and Tim watched me walk, explained my step and recommended a few different shoes. I tried on and he made sure they fit properly and felt good on my feet, they didn't. He recommended a different pair and they feel great!! I am so glad I went. Less foot pain and back pain. I have taken running classes for about 5 years bouncing between Richardson, Frisco and the Coppell store. (Please build a store in Plano!!). Richardson is my favorite for group classes- best coaches and biggest classes to help motivate you. The morning classes definitely have more options for different pace groups. I was extremely disappointed that the evening classes had 1 "continuous" running group- 10 min pace to 12 min pace in the same group. The other group was a run/ walk. So mornings are the only option. Shopping wise I think they have the same selection as all other sports stores. They do carry my favorite running shoes (Neuton's) which is a plus. I just heard they were sold again and bought by Foot Locker. Soon to be renamed Jack Rabbit. read more

Mark K. is the MAN!! He must have spent 1.5-2 hours with my 13 year old daughter (she's trying out for track/field) to get just the right fit (7-8 different brands/designs). My daughter's unique feet didn't make it easy on him, but he never batted an eyelash, he was gonna get it done. Very knowledgeable about all the brands and designs as well as fitting a foot correctly for a given sport. After previously spending entirely too much money at another shoe store where I had been fit incorrectly and not a even given the right type of shoe for my training goals, I found myself injured and frustrated. I started running during COVID but my feet were hurting and friends recommended I come to this location. My wife has been here before and had an incredible experience so I stopped by. When I arrived the store was closing up - would've been very easy to turn me away but they opened up just for me. Everyone was naturally cautious given both the recent riots and COVID but the service was very fast and knowledgeable. Elliott in particular was amazing. He immediately noted what my feet would need, measured my foot, and brought out four options for me. He answered my questions and we had a great conversation about all that's going on in the world. It's one thing to have a knowledgeable staff, its another to have a staff that goes above and beyond, and yet another to meet a really good person in the process. I went with my mother to this store. After using the restroom, I had a frustrated lady(an employee, older blonde and short) come to me and publicly shamed me for "peeing on the floor" even though I did use the restroom she assumed it was me being disrespectful. She walked up to my mother with other customers around and told her "your son peed all over the floor" as if I was the only patron to have ever used the restroom. Come to this location if you feel like being harassed. I was having a nice day and was being respectful while in this store and was completely caught off guard by this incredibly rude employee. I've never felt so embarrassed in my life while shopping. Ruined my day. To add on to this she was helping an inexperienced family and after they left the store she let out some cuss words and talked down about the family after they purchased their shoes and left the store. So In the very few minutes I had been in the store she publicly shamed and accused me and then talked crap about a paying customer after they left. My mother returned her shoes after she witnessed her behavior. How can you hire someone like this and continue to leave them on? An employer should see this type of behavior as unacceptable. I wanted to be fitted for new shoes but all I got was comments from the sales person on how old my current shoes are and he didn't offer any assistance after he told me he can't order the color I wanted. Went in to buy shoes for my husband. Shoe salesman was nice. My son and I went to look at socks. I touched a pair as did my son because I indicated the softness of them. When we hear screaming and howling behind us. I turn around and a women who I believe to be Donna the assistant manager was waving her hands in the air screaming at us to not touch the socks because she has to fix them to the front. Now I literally had just walked to the socks and my son wasn't harming anything either. Her behavior is unacceptable which I told the cashier. He told me he was sorry but that's how she is with the socks. I asked him if this was a store? Why can't we touch the items? I feel that as a manager she needs to have better training and if she didn't want anyone touching items she needs to lock them up or put signs. I hope she is reprimanded. I will not be visiting this location again and I would think twice before you do either. read more

I bought a pair of shoes from Run On! a few months ago. They were great for the first 100 miles or so, then I started having some high ankle pain. So, I brought them back in looking for an insole or something to help out. Long story short, they insisted on replacing them free of charge. They said that they had put me in the wrong shoes the first time and they considered it their responsibility to make it right. I was blown away and tried to pay for the new shoes. After all, my other ones were several weeks/150 miles old. They insisted. Needless to say, I'm a fan. Run On! means business. read more

This place doesn't even deserve a star. Unfortunately that isn't an option. I ordered a Nike Free shoe the second week of May. I was told they didn't carry my size (6.5) in store so they would have to order it. Ok, fine that is understandable. Stupid but understandable. I'm sure all runners are size 7 and up. I paid for my shoe. I also had to pay for shipping! Wtf. Most retailers nowadays don't charge shipping for there customers when it's their own fault for not having an item. This is ridiculous. A measly seven bucks but still! It's the principle of the matter. I know I could've bought my shoes at footlocker or wherever and probably not pay shipping but my husband bought me a gift certificate from there bc I had been wanting to go. I had heard such great raving reviews about how run on was the place to go. Blah blah blah. It's august now and I hadn't heard from Run On about my shoe. So I decide to give them a call. Guess what? They still don't have my shoe in. They have the audacity to blame Nike. Nike doesn't have any size 6.5 shoes. Bull****! I have a half in two weeks and had wanted to break new shoes in over te summer but I'll be sticking to my trusty Asics that I bought from Footaction. Sure chain retailers have workers who know nothing about shoes besides color and size but I'd never have to wait almost three months to get a shoe. Their service was horrible too. I was air to them. I walked in and not even a "hello, can I help you?" When I asked for help, their service was far below mediocre. Didn't sound like they knew what the hell they were talking about. Maybe their other locations are better but his one SUCKS. I am severely disappointed. I'm gonna try the one in Coppell. Hopefully this store will be better. read more

We just left this location and I'm fighting back tears, tears of frustration, of anger, or disappointment. With everything going on right now as far as injustice and racism, I am feeling more hurt than ever. I am a Hispanic female and happen to be the darkest toned person in the business. Since the second I walked in with my family, i was not even addressed or greeted. A red headed female employee approached me by asking "did you need something" without even a hi or how may I help you, simply "did you need something" in a rushed manner. I asked for my shoe size and she proceeded to toss me the shoe box and instruct me to sit at the bench which was located on the furthest back side, while there were 2 other benches up front that were totally fine for me to sit at. I asked another female employee a question about a shoe suggestion, she ignored me and walked to the next bench with a Caucasian female sitting in it. I decided to move to the open bench at the front of the shoe display in hopes of getting some help, where I observed 3 other Caucasian families be attended to while I sat patiently waiting to be helped. No one even approached me, the same red headed employee made eye contact with me and kept walking, along with 2 other employees. Mind you I was in this store with my 2 baby girls and my husband, waiting patiently. We waited about 25 minutes being ignored and observing other Caucasian families being helped while we remained unattended. This behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. I have dealt with racism and discrimination a few times before, but never to the extent of being denied service! This is not ok! read more

He studied my footfall and recommended shoes based on how I run, explaining his thought process. RunOn! is the best running store chain in the North Texas area ... Period! I have relocated twice professionally in 30 months due to the economy, new jobs and responsibilities. After checking out San Antonio and Austin for merchants that cater to active people, I still return to RunOn! everytime, mostly due to customer service. They just get it and have always attempted to work with me for over a decade, I sought out a particular shoe company and shoe here in Austin, TX. There are several merchants here in Austin that carries the brand and model, $140 a pop. After asking if I can receive a discount for generating nearly $300 in revenue, I was simply told no? Nothing, Nada .... period? I can still hear the crickets chirping! I called RunOn! in Richardson, same shoe, same price, 10% discount plus free shipping. SOLD! No hassle, no big deal, DONE! I loved San Antonio and enjoy Austin too. There is just something here that gnaws at you when you cannot even get a small discount from some merchants here. I want to support local businesses but it's a total buzzkill when you cannot even give a 5% discount on a $300 purchase? RunOn! ROCKS, will get back to you at an agreed time to help you purchase a particular garment or shoe. They have eight stores in North Texas, a great inventory and can ship within a few days if the shoe is in stock. I've been a customer since the run project started. I didn't know about buying bigger shoes or even the difference between stability, neutral, or zero drop. I had been running, but in the wrong shoes! Run on helped me learn how to buy shoes and track my running. They have taught me so much. Amongst my most recent visits, they special ordered a newly released Saucony in fluorescent yellow at no charge! I had been waiting for the release of this shoe forever. Today, I went in and wanted a specific pair of running shorts. Richard stripped the mannequin for me so that I could get the last pair. I can go on about how they go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service, however I will leave it up to you to test their service. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have been running for a long time. Recently I developed a knee issue. Several of my friends recommended that I consult with Run On in Richardson. I brought my last 3 pair of running shoes with me so they could look at the wear patterns. Donna was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You can tell that she is passionate about her job! She knew that the shoe I had been running in for several models had undergone some design changes. She recommended (after about an hour of discussion and trying various brands and models) a fantastic running shoe....a night and day difference. I definitely won't be back. I happened to be next door at the Bike Mart and decided to buy some new running shoes while I was in the area. I should've done my research first, to avoid getting ripped off. 1) They don't display any prices on their shoes. 2) They don't ask what price range you're interested in. 3) They automatically offer up their most expensive shoe. I told the salesperson that I wanted to replace my old 826s. Instead of asking how I liked the 826 and putting me into a comparable pair of shoes, she pulled out a shoe that looked comparable, but seemed a bit bulkier (1080). I assumed (you know what they say about assuming) that it was a comparable shoe at a comparable price, but it turns out it's not even close... in fact it's nearly 40% more expensive. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the disparity in price until I got to the register. Of course, by that time, I already felt committed to the purchase. Granted, it was my fault for not dropping the shoe and walking out right then, but I suspect this is an intentional sales tactic to take advantage of a few suckers. I know they definitely found one sucker that day. They lost out on the possibility of a repeat customer, though. Next time, I'll shop at a store that's forthcoming with their pricing information, and allows the consumer to make an informed decision without having to look like a cheapskate. Nice psychological ploy there. "How much are your feet/knees worth?" The only reasons I give them 1 star is because 1) You can't give them less, and 2) They were accommodating when I exchanged the shoe for a different size. One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. Couple Notes of the store 1. They literally have NOTHING in stock. That's right, whatever you like is not available, the associate will feign understanding and offer to bring a shoe in from some other store and all of a sudden none of the dozen other stores in the metroplex have it and you have to order it for like $20 extra 2. Customer Service For the RICH ONLY!!! If you aren't willing to buy at least a hundred dollar pair of shoes or some expensive clothes, the employees literally act like you are invisible or push and push and push you to buy useless crap. NOT a joke. There are like 6 employees (maybe 3 know anything) and nobody works the damn register. It is ridiculous, I came in and told a sales associate who asked me for help that I just wanted a water bottle (mind you after having given business for some time) and I had to wait 20 minutes to check out because of my small purchase! 3. Look for another location I cannot blame the entire system, as my running buddies have moved their business to the Coppell and Mckinney locations and had great experiences. It just seems that the Richardson location no longer has the high standard I used to expect. I would come in and have my favorite employees give me the best advice free of charge on a regular basis and make me feel like I was a regular. Now this place feels like an errand rather than a star treatment. Awesome place , live in east Texas came into Dallas for the weekend, been running 10k lately my feet were killing me , bought new shoes , didn't fix the problem , Allie hooked me up , very professional staff , have been to other name brand running stores , within just a few minutes she got me hooked up my feet were in heaven. I struggle whether to give them a 3 or a 4 because they excel in areas and don't in others. I wish there was a 3 1/2. I sought out a dedicated runners shoe store because I was (desperate) having knee pain after not jogging for way too long (or maybe too many pounds). I had to find a solution to the pain or I wasn't going to be able to run anymore. The service here is great - fun even, but after visiting twice I have no idea of I'm neutral or not. They will take time with you and educate you on form etc. The salesperson will have you walk in socks and determine if your walk is neutral, pronation, or under pronation. During my first visit I was told I had a neutral stride. The salesperson offered about 3 different pair at a time and as a result of feedback brought out another selection and I settled on a pair. Then I was shown proper form to use when running. The selection here includes high end of manufacturers that one doesn't find in the box stores. Per my internet search, I paid the very top price this shoe is offered at online. Had I not gone back, I'd give them a solid 4 - if the prices were a bit lower, I'd give them a 5. However, I had issues with the shoes putting my toes to sleep. They gladly took the shoes back with no restocking fee. I started with a new salesperson this time who asks me "if you have a neutral stride, why were you put in a stability shoe?" When the original salesperson becomes free, I walk for them again. This time I have stability issues. The solution is to go to a wide shoe but the color selection reduces in wide. I'm not happy with the color but so far the wide is working for me. I think the advice on form is the biggest improvement for my knees. I personally think I am neutral - if I take brooks online test, I come up as neutral. The sales people here are really friendly and fun to work with. I'm just at a loss whether I should continue to buy stability shoes now. Assuming I can keep up with jogging, I'll likely go to another runners store for my next pair to get more input. read more

I was a little nervous after reading some of the negative reviews of this location, but I had a great experience. My old running shoes were tearing up my feet, and I needed new shoes. From the moment I walked in, one of the workers there stayed with me. She measured my feet, asked about my running habits and had me walk to check for pronation. She then brought out three pairs of shoes and I tried all three on and made a decision. She showed me a different way to tie them that makes them more snug around the ankle, which I really appreciated. All in all, it was a great experience and I left feeling like I know more about choosing my own running shoes next time. read more

I used to shop at Fit2Run in Tampa Florida and Since I moved to Dallas I was searching for a good store for my running shoes. I wasn't happy with the shoes that I bought at trishop before I visited this store. Sales people are very friendly and they help you choose the best fitting shoes. They didn't have the size for the shoes I liked and I was leaving on a trip in the next couple of days. Sales person was really nice to pick up my shoe size from another location and had them ready for me by following morning. I went to buy glide and KT tape. At check out i was asked if i'd shaped there before, which i have. They didn't have my information, no big deal just wanted to buy two things not even shoes. I didn't want to give my info since i wasn't buy shoes. i told the lady working the register its no big deal just let me buy my stuff. Well, she answered back saying it was a big deal to them!!!
