I sent an identical factory order build (for a 2022 Subaru Outback Touring XT) to all subaru dealerships between Colorado Springs and Fort Collins. Flatirons was the most expensive by nearly $2,000. They claimed it was because of a "$1,595 Global Supply Shortage addendum" that they *had* to add to the quote. But really that is just price gouging by Flatirons Subaru. No other dealership added that addendum. They also claimed that the quotes I showed them from other dealerships weren't actually quotes and that there were hidden charges they weren't accounting for. I can assure you this is not true (as I have since made a purchase). Stay away from these shady price gougers. If you're interested, the best prices came from: 1. Heuberger Subaru 2. Schomp Subaru 3. Valley Subaru 4. Subaru of Loveland Ordered from least to most expensive, but all were within $500 of each other. read more

This place used to be the best, but since they've scaled up, general competency is lacking at best. People are nice enough, but if no one seems to be able to do the basics, including just checking me in once at the right desk or shuffling me from department to department, it does not inspire confidence. I brought my car in for my appointment, which I made on the phone, no record of it, but at least they were able to do the service, but not before identifying a $1100 fix because a single bearing isn't sold as a part so they have to replace the entire drive shaft on my car with 51k miles on it, not to mention my second dead battery while still partially covered leading me to believe maybe there's an underlying defect not detected. apparently this question is super dumb and no one could fathom such a possibility. I was told someone would call next day when the party came in. Two days later I called to follow up and made the appointment. Dropped it off this morning only to call just before close to check on the status since I was told to expect half a day. they hadn't even looked at it. I'm told first thing tomorrow, but so far, every expectation has evaporated into thin air. Seeking out a new mechanic for the other expensive fixes so at least I can have a little more faith in the work. I know nothing lasts forever, but it's a shame to see how far the competency has fallen off. I'd rather have realistic expectations set than be over promised and repeatedly fall short. Do not recommend this place any longer. read more

I am so disappointed in this dealership. I've bought two cars from them but subsequently I've had two bad experiences that make me think that they just don't care anymore. First, when I bought my last car, I paid extra for the maintenance package that included oil changes and checks at certain mileage marks. I forgot that I had done this and it wasn't until I went to another dealership that they reminded me I had. Flatirons had been charging me for the oil changes and checkups without even looking at my paperwork. Second, yesterday I stopped at a convenience store to get gas. My gas cover wouldn't pop open so I called the Service department. Some guy came on and told me to get a screwdriver and pry it open. He was sure it was the only way. I did NOT want to mess up my new car by prying it open and possibly breaking that cover. I asked if he could talk to someone else so he reluctantly agreed and guess what--all it took was making sure that my back doors were unlocked! That's right--I could have broken that cover because this guy didn't even bother to check. So, not impressed at all. And they always tell us to give them an excellent rating. No more. read more

UPDATE: From good to bad.... I have been so pleasantly happy with this service department the past few times I have been in that I have been scheduling and driving out of my way for car service. It's a bummer now that things have quickly went south. I tried to schedule online for a maintenance appointment asap as the horn on this POS car stopped working and I drive my car a lot for work/personal and need it working. First, I couldn't schedule anything online. Then I have to wait to get them on the phone and the guy I spoke with basically tells me he can't get me in till the first week of august, can't accommodate an afternoon appt which is the only time I can and do make appts with them due to my schedule; never been an issue before. Won't provide a loaner, basically WONT HELP ME AT ALL. Way to suddenly fail your first responders. Now I gotta find another shop! INITIAL: My first service appt ever here at this particular dealership/location, after some bad experiences with other local dealer shops. I think they did decently for the first time. Nice waiting area, which included great soft drinks. Timely service. The customer service was really fantastic, everyone was super welcoming and the tech Cesar V. who worked on my car seemed to do a thorough job, video detail included. Only reason at this point I dinged a star is cause I feel like I was getting harassed to write a review. Give folks a chance to do this on their own cause bugging the shit out of someone wont do you any favors either. So far my experience with this dealership is terrible. I have been dealing with what turns out to be a known flaw with my very low mile 2018 Outback. There is an electrical issue and it drains the battery. Subaru told my husband all of this and sent an email to present for service. I have some emergent needs over the next couple of days with kiddoes and Flatirons couldn't care less. From hanging up on me to not offering any timely fix nor a loaner, it's been extremely unpleasant. Attitudes ranged from indifferent to rude. Although I've loved my Subaru I will be extremely reluctant to buy another. Service in prior location was a bit better but it's always been some kind of hassle, even for routine issues. Now I will have to rent a car to make sure we can go to the hospital tomorrow. read more

We bought from them. When we came in, the real price closely - but not exactly - matched the quote. #2 Flatirons Subaru - Professional and courteous, answered my questions, quoted me a good price. Will shop again next time. #3 Loveland Subaru - Professional and courteous, answered my questions, quoted me the least competitive price. Possibly the "if price didn't matter" winner. #4 Valley Subaru in Longmont - Slow to respond and often didn't really answer my question. Offered the best quote, an extended warranty, and free oil changes for two years. Felt more like a used-car shopping experience. read more

Generally, I love Subaru and when I have regular maintenance at Flatirons Subaru, the experience is great. But this is the second time now I've needed to schedule a car for recall work. So things that were wrong with the car that are on Subaru, not me. I only have one car in an attempt to be environmentally conscientious. But every single time they give me a really hard time, even rude, about needing a loaner to get by. I have been told they are limited, they won't reserve me one, and that I just might not have one available on the day. This time because they won't have my car for long. But I have school pick-ups and drops offs and the appointments available are very limited (which also seems to be particular to this dealership and not others I have worked with) so I can't avoid it. I would if I could, believe me. This isn't my fault and having one car shouldn't get me harassed and I should not have to pay for a rental because of a RECALL. When I mentioned one of the recalls had to do with my transmission the dude was pretty sarcastic about it. (While I don't understand it, on my new car with maintenance issues I did not cause, IT'S A BIG DEAL TO ME.) Edit I appreciate the calm response in the face of my slightly sarcastic comment I made out having the cold and a seriously bad day. I am glad to know I could ask for reimbursement of a rental car. It would be nice if someone had mentioned that instead of telling me my problem wasn't important enough. Most importantly: 1. I could have been worked with more on appointment times which would not require me to find an alternate means of transportation. 2. I could have been told about alternate things like mentioned above. 3. I was told loaners are available, but I was not going to be allowed to reserve one because my problem is not important enough and will not take long enough (a detail which doesn't matter if the only appointments interfere with my ability to get kids to school). I realize you don't actually dislike mothers or people who own single cars. I did however notice I would not be inconvenienced if neither of those things was true, which just seems unfair. This is one of those instances where I wish I could assign a different number of stars for different aspects of my experience. First off, we corresponded and met with Fred Rudd, who is AMAZING. Five well-deserved stars for this guy. He's the opposite of what I imagine a car salesman to be: personable, not pushy, patient, and he was all about getting us the car we wanted at the most competitive price. We originally went in to test drive a 2017 version of the car we wanted, only to decide to place an order for the 2018 version instead. As Fred was generating a new quote for us, I also quickly emailed two other Subaru dealerships in the Front Range to see what they were quoting for the same car. Fred's quote came in $500 lower than the next lowest one. We were sold. Fred was also diligent in showing us how to use the technology in the 2018 model before we drove off the lot. Where the problem lies is the financing of the car. Prior to coming in, I had checked auto loan rates with a couple of the places we bank at. Subaru's preferred lender had the lowest rate, so we decided to finance through them. We also decided to get gap insurance since our insurance company doesn't offer it. We signed the papers and drove home in our new Subaru, like good little Coloradans. Wait for it... Fast forward to when we were making our first payment, only to realize that Air Academy Federal Credit Union, the preferred lender, charges $15 every time we make an online payment. That's right folks. For a 5-year payment plan, that's $900 that we're being scammed out of. It would have been nice of the finance manager to give us a heads up about this, so that maybe we could have gone with a different lender and paid less in the end despite a slighter higher interest rate. No transparency from the dealership whatsoever. It's too bad I already filled in the survey from Subaru singing their praises, but hopefully this review will at least prevent others from falling prey to the scam that is their preferred lender. I'll update this review after making a few more payments that I will have to pay $15 for each time. Maybe I'll change my tune after being continually reminded how we got hoodwinked by financing. On my last visit I learned that they offer a shuttle service to nearby places while your car is being worked on. Amazing! Thom was ready to go as soon as I was. From the moment I met him, he was exceptionally nice!! Thom thanked me for my business multiple times, seemed to genuinely love to work for Flatirons Subaru and truly embraced being a part of the Subaru family atmosphere they have. I started my search for a new to me car, suv or truck it has been16 years since I bought my current truck. I have forgotten how sleazy and underhanded a business it can be but I am starting to remember. I contacted Flatirons Subaru about a 2015 Subaru Impreza, 1 owner, very low miles and a very good price. I received an email from Brandon Simkins stating it was I on the lot and he would be glad to show it to me. So I immediately headed for the dealership and arrived within a half hour of receiving Brandon's email. Brandon tried to act as though we had discussed a 2014 Impreza and then I pointed out to him that it was a 2015 and I showed him the online ad. After conferring with someone he said it had sold the night before but he had other cars with more miles or newer cars for more money. That is called bait and switch and I hate that used car dealers feel the need to use these tactics to get you into their dealership. I guess I will continue my search and try to weed out the trickery and deceit. There must be 1 honest dealership in the metro area and maybe I will find it. read more

I gave the necessary contact info . I contacted them on three different days and not once did they return any of my messages. From the beginning the service and level of quality of service was lacking thoroughness. I brought my Subaru Impreza in to have a regular tune-up, tires rotated, fluids topped off, everything serviced for its corresponding miles. One of the wheels was making a squeaking sound and the AC would smell stale when turned on so I made sure to tell the Service clerk this when I initially brought the vehicle in. In addition, I also specified that I wanted the car Detailed and that it was my first time ever having a car Detailed. We opened the hood of the vehicle to show them that mice had been in the engine block and the Service Clerk assured me that they would clean the engine and all the poop the mice had left would be removed when detailing the vehicle. The vehicle was serviced relatively quickly and a video of the undercarriage of the vehicle was sent. When I returned to pick of the vehicle they notified me they did not hear any squeak from any wheels. I went to inspect the vehicle and found there was still dust in several places within the vehicle, but let that initially slide. There were also two deoterant/scent packets, one under each front seat. I quickly took them out and threw them away as I am very sensitive to chemical smells. (Extremely nauseating, dangerously, I returned.) No indication was given that the scent packets were going to be include in the Detailing service. While inspecting the vehicle I also noticed that they had broken a power Amp which I use to charge devices. I proceeded to drive the vehicle off the Dealership lot and began feeling very very sick and lightheaded from the off-gassing of chemicals. I also noticed that the squeaky wheel (rat in the hubcap?) sound was still present. I returned the vehicle shortly after departing and clarified what had happened. Recap: 1) A severe reaction to the scent left in the vehicle, after removal, left my partner in a situation unprepared to drive!! Too bad! Had I been notified at the beginning that they would include this, or if I was provided an option: asked if I wanted a scent added to the vehicle - how many - what flavor or humorously anything; no expectations though, right... but what is customer service... without exploring guests...? ********* PLEASE REPLY: does EVERY vehicle receive TWO PACKETS?********* 2) There was STILL dust in the vehicle 3) The mouse poop had not been cleaned out of the engine block (dead mouse in hubcap was) 4) The REAR wheel still squeaks(ed) 4b) They replaced the wrong hub (even after specifically showing them which one was making noise) 5) The broken power Amp was not questioned (or treated with care) 6) Building a business, honesty is first principal: employees were literally standing around. After returning the vehicle to have these issues resolved several things happened: 1) Understandably my partner who was with me at the time was treated with disrespect when he was describing how the power Amp had been broken 2) No communication/follow up to retrieve the vehicle was made 3) The vehicle smell was still VERY strong and NO action was taken to clean the mouse poop or clean the areas that were still unclean 4) There was no communication between departments. I received a call from the parts department saying I could bring the vehicle in to have the hub cap which, was the source of the squeaky noise, replaced. *The vehicle was at the Dealership all along. 5) No communication was made over the entire duration of this incident, of a timeframe, to retrieve the vehicle. The entire experience took 3 weeks from start to finish. 6) They put the hub cap on the wrong wheel thus there is still the squeaky sound. read more

I brought my car here today for a recall and an oil change. The staff is friendly and professional. My car was ready on time. They even offered a courtesy wash. There is a pleasant area where you can have a complementary coffee/tea while you wait. My complain is that the repairs are totally overpriced.The technician saw that my rear brake pads needed to be replaced. They quoted me $425 for the replacement of the rear brake pads. Later on, I called another garage in the area. They quoted me $190.93. The difference is a little bit over the top. read more

Not just a poor experience here, but one that reflects poorly on the Subaru brand. The wife spoke with sales guy, Shane, and was very clear about the deal, car and specs we wanted. He came back with a VIN# on the right car and offered her the deal she asked for...in writing. Nice work. We say yes, tell him when we'll be in to pick up the car and all seems well and good. As we live out of state, she books tickets to get the car and then, at the 11th hour, he calls and says he lost the car. Say what? Then he scrambles and tells her he wasn't sure she wanted the car (dude, you have to come up with some better lies), got confused (really, about what exactly?), etc. and tries to backpedal by offering a different car with different (aka more expensive) pricing. This is classic, how-can-we-take-advantage-of-female-buyers car salesmanship. If you thought that was a thing of the past, think again. It's alive and well, it's shameful and it shows a complete disrespect for women buyers. But that's not all. So my wife sends a nicely worded email to the owner, Scott Crouch, and asks him to help us with this situation. Not badmouthing Shane for his incompetence, not saying anything about how it was an obvious case of bait and switch selling, nothing but "please can you help remedy this?" His remedy was not to respond at all to her. Nice! Yeah, I don't know how much of their business comes from women, but based on our experience, CHOOSE ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. Flatirons Subaru is an excellent dealership. They make the car buying process easy and effective. The Company is family owned, and they stand by their vision to provide excellent service with a car you absolutely love. Our favorite thing about the dealership besides our great vehicle and service, is Travus Borek, our salesman. Travus was very professional and did everything he could to help us each step of the way. Travus was very knowledgeable and technical on all aspects of our Suburu Outback. He did an excellent job working with us and teaching us about the vehicle. He personally helped us set up Starlink Security Plus. Safety was one of our biggest concerns and the Suburu with Starlink security provided the safety protection we needed. I highly recommend the Dealership for a great car at a great price. Anyone thinking of buying a Subaru, head to Flatirons Suburu and ask for Travus Borek. I have had two Subarus sustain body damage while they are at Flatirons for maintenance. The first time I was driving home from the dealership when I saw there was a large crack/hole in my windshield - as if a heavy object had been dropped on it. I immediately turned around and they were very apologetic and replaced the windshield. Yesterday I went to pick up my Ascent after having its snow tires changed out, and as I walked to my car, I see damage on the hood that looks as if a claw hammer had been dropped on it. Once again, they are replacing the hood no cost to me. However, in both cases, there is no chance that the mechanic would not have known about this damage. And in neither case did Flatirons admit their mistake - until I pointed the damage out. Had I walked from the other side of my car and not noticed the hood damage, I very likely would have been responsible for replacing a several thousand dollar hood. I don't appreciate this lack of integrity on the part of their service department. read more

Judd was great. As first time buyers we had a lot of questions and wanted to make sure we were getting a car that would work for our lifestyle. While I'm not a fan of Colorado's Dealer/Handler fee ($499 at Flatirons Subaru), I appreciate that they are forthcoming about charging it. Everything was ok until we met with the woman in charge of finance. I think her name was Kerrie. She talked to us about an extended warranty (totaling 7 years or 100,000 miles) and a service package. We negotiated a bit, and she let us know that she had given us $400 off the cost of the warranty, but that the service price couldn't be changed (She informed us that the dealer cost for the service plan is $800, and she couldn't go lower than $1,100). Ultimately, we decided that for the extra $35 a month, both plans were a good fit. Then..... I looked off to the side of her desk and noticed she was filling out a form with different information. She had signed us up for the 7 year 70,000 mile warranty with a $100 deductible and NOT the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty. We asked her why she had changed it, and she exclaimed that there was no way she could sell us the other warranty at that price, so she "thought we must have been talking about the other warranty plan" and knocked us down a level in the warranty. She apologized for the "snafu" and again tried to tell us that she couldn't sell us the other warranty. I was not upset that she couldn't lower the price of the original warranty (although, it was clearly outrageous, about $2,400) - but I'm still very upset that she tried to pull a fast one on us. I was so upset, that I ended up not purchasing the additional warranty OR the service plan. My fiance told her that she never mentioned the deductible or the change in warranty plan to us and her response was "I didn't tell you it was something else, I just... Well, I didn't NOT tell you...". We all know car dealerships have a reputation for scheming, but this blatant exclamation of lying by omission did not bode well for our experience at Subaru Flatirons. read more
