I dig this place a lot. I think it embodies the spirit of the eastside. It's part bike repair shop, part coffee shop. Clearly a popular pit stop for the bike community, but they also managed to make it warm and inviting for us pedestrian folk, too. The staff may seem a little rough around the edges at first, but that gritty exterior is shed pretty quickly once you get closer to the counter and realize they are quite a friendly bunch, delighted to turn out delicious latte after delicious latte. Their pastry case is a beaut, with many items you'd like to smash into your face. They also boast delicious savory options like hearty bagel sandwiches from Rosen's, breakfast bowls, tacos and an impressive lunch menu, too. Indoor and outdoor seating, great music selection, and WiFi make this a slick place to spend a good amount of time. This is the second coffee/bike shop I have been in ever and I don't know why but I love the combo! It just works. We just popped in for an ice coffee, enjoyed the patio while we drank it down and hit the road. The employees were extremely friendly and welcoming and the jave was great. My husband and I stopped by Flat Track for post tacos coffee. The initial impression is pretty impressive. Half coffee shop/ half bike shop- can't say I've seen anything like this before so definitely very cool to experience. Flat Track has quite a bit of offerings, from their drinks menu, to a selection of pastries, to selling their own merchandise. While I could definitely see myself hanging out here if I lived in Austin, I wasn't AS impressed with their coffee. I ordered the Mexican Mocha, which was altogether lacking in spice and was more mocha forward. My husband ordered another beverage which I admittedly don't remember the name to (it was on their paper list, not on the posted sign), but recall it being way too sweet for our liking, more of a dessert drink than a pick me up. I came into Flat Track based on a friend's recommendation. He's an avid cyclist, so this makes a lot of sense. Flat Track is located inside a bicycle shop which is pretty cool but I definitely felt a bit out of place walking in dressed in my business casual. Regardless, the atmosphere is definitely worth checking out. The concept is cool and even though it's a split location, there's still plenty of seating if you want to hang out or work from the coffee shop. I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't too sweet, my only complaint is that it was pretty small for the price. I ordered the Mexican mocha which was not too sweet and a little spicy. They have high quality almond milk as an option for non dairy folks. (The worst thing is when a coffee shop has almond milk on deck and it's..... trash. Not the case here) They also make a horchata that they cut with a milk of your choice. Nice spot at Flat Track Coffee for a morning cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Located on one side of a bike shop, this place is certainly something different I have not seen before but the vibe of the place is nothing short of cool! Walk up to the counter and order your coffee drink and while there are a whole bunch of different options to choose from a cup of coffee was definitely the way to go on our visit. With two different varieties available the morning we visited, the barista behind the counter gave us a run down of each of them and we made our selection accordingly. A small pastry case is available with a few different options available. I opted for a pastry that had a remarkable glaze on the outside of it (almost candied caramel in nature) and nuts on it, as well. Flakier than what you would consider a cinnamon roll but an absolutely delicious treat. Great place for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat! read more

Found this place from the Austin coffee-instagramer. Space was limited for in-store parking but plenty of free street parking around. The barista recommended to get the horchata latte. The price is definitely in the higher side ($6 for this kind of latte basically) but it taste really good - not too sweet, strong cinnamon flavor, altho the coffee flavor was quite masked by the horchata. A lot of seatings and great wifi, but they grinded the coffee in-house, so the machine sound might find to be a little bit disturbing for studying. read more

I have tried this place multiple times to give them a fair chance. They fill the cup with all ice and if you ask for light ice they give you half the drink. Straight up, I miss la chingona. If you speak spanish, you'll appreciate that. It's a drink, and it's delicious. But the actual coffee here is tasty as well. I was in flat track purchasing coffee for my partner, it was a vibe from the moment I arrived. I was greeted by all the fog staff. Very friendly staff with great service, and their coffee is fantastic. I've been here a couple times and tried their iced lattes which didn't disappoint. They also have pastries and a nice little outdoor area to hang out. They also have cool merch including these blankets that come with handles to make them easier to tote around. Still have a very strict COVID policy where you have to stand in line outside in the heat until it is your turn and only one person is allowed inside at a time. Also, they don't have any straws. This place is so hip with a unique hipster vibe upon walking in that you might grow a full grown beard and a sleeve of tattoos. It's not a place for fancier latte-drinkers for sure. If you like to add stuff to your drinks or prefer frappuccinos, this is not the place for you, so don't review it or treat it like it's a Starbucks. It's definitely a clean feel inside and the area behind the counter where the magic happens. The men behind the bar were working quickly and trying to accommodate my group who are not fans of simple coffee. I tried to guide them being an ex-barista myself, but most of the reviews from my group was "my drink is too strong." Personally, I loved the drinks! I ended up helping a lot of the girls with their drinks because I would love caffeine as an IV. It might taste like dirt to others, but this was some fine dirt indeed. The barista was very knowledgeable about coffee and especially the history of the local coffee scene. He was great to talk to and very happy to share about his product. I had an espresso (single origin washed Ethiopia) and it was great. Clean, bright, acidic. I always enjoy getting a small cup of sparkling water with my espresso!
