Our catfish sandwiches were good. The catfish was flaky and the breading was quite tasty. The tartar sauce was more like Thousand Island dressing. The french fries were dry and tasteless. The menu stated that "All sandwiches are served with your choice of lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and mayo". However, we were informed that our sandwiches were served plain and this was a 'mis-print' on the menu, so these items were 'extra' . As old as the menus appeared, I doubt this was a 'mis-print'. Normally, menu errors are construed in favor of the customer, but not here. Others in our party received their soups after their main courses were delivered. This place is dirty. There was trash and food under all the tables and the carpet was filthy. It is also quite loud. We shant return. read more

I have been to Flashbacks a couple times and I always want to have a better experience. I live near the restaurant, so I try the restaurant from time to time and I always leave thinking that I wish I were better served. One of my biggest issues with Flashbacks is that the customer service is very slow. Whether the restaurant seems busy or slow, expect to wait a bit to be served or be seated. I have stood waiting for a table for 10-15 minutes waiting to be seated when there were empty tables open. The food is decent. The nachos that I've had were great. I've had the pizza when it was on special and it was decent. The burgers that I've had were okay, but a little overcooked, as well as the chicken tenders. The one cool thing about the restaurant is that if you live in the area and support Franklin Central, it's a cool restaurant with the memorabilia, but I wish the food was a little better and the service was a lot better. read more

Been here probably 10 times. Ownership changed in the last year or 2, so if you had a bad trip, you might give them another try. Ordered carryout here today. Breaded tenderloin platter, jalapeno cheese bites, and mini corn dog platter for the kid. Wife and I split the tenderloin and fries, and it was enough to split. The food is somewhat overpriced, but there at very few choices in the neighborhood, so I think they know you are a captive customer. They have family seating, but not sure I would take my younger kids there. No specific reason, just my gut feeling. read more

We had such a bad experience here that we never went back a second time. None of the food we ordered was good (in fact, I'm pretty sure it was all just frozen stuff that got microwaved), our drinks were weak, and our server was absent the majority of the time. Me and my kids and mom went in here because it just opened,my son got a cheeseburger and daughter got chicken fingers. Our waitress was nice I will say that but my daughter bit into a chicken finger of which the outside was burnt and it was raw pink chicken on the inside.After that I looked to se if sons burger was done and found a black hair on his bun. I had never been here, but my parents had been and said they loved it. So I decided to join them on their latest trip there. The service was great. Our server, Tiffany, was great! I decided to try their chili and it was pretty good. We also decided to order the sampler appetizer which came with fried pickles, chips, multiple dips, chicken fingers, and more. Flashbacks is a great place to eat and hang out. Seriously, the best wings in town and the salads and tenderloin are great too. They are always working hard to take care of their customers and you see tons of regulars in there. The food is really, really good and the drinks are reasonably priced. I was worried when ownership changed, but they've done a great job of enhancing what was already very good. You'll see the new owners working hard, making sure people are being taken care of. Average food, terrible customer service. Just tried this place for the third time. Third time definitely not a charm. Server disappeared for almost 20 minutes (she told us she was inputting the specials into the computer), meanwhile our dirty plates just sat there and my empty ice tea glass sat on the edge of the table waiting for a refill that never came. Other servers just scurried by, this has happened to us on another visit as well. Don't see any sense of teamwork or any real desire to take care of people that they don't know. Last visit my wife ordered a piece of chocolate cake and it took 10 plus minutes plus a complaint to the manager and the kitchen staff to get the cake. We really tried to support this local establishment, but next time well just hit one of the chains on Southport Road. read more

Food is fine but you have watch your bill and how they up charge you. Sign coming in said Jumbo wings 7.99 waitress asked if I wanted boneless and I said yes then bill showed 9.99. Then Cheeseburgers are 10.99 and cheeses to choose were listed American, pepper jack and cheddar. They up charged meal to 11.39. 3.39 upcarge. I'll think twice about ever going back. It wants to be good, it really does. The people who work here are nice, they just need more of them. The service is really slow and bad, but given they have one bartender and one server for the entire restaurant on most nights, I can't get mad at the staff. Please management : put more people in and send someone home if you don't need them! Pepperoni breadsticks are a must, the steak is good but they put too much salt on it, patty melt is good, chicken Diablo is not good, burgers are normal and drink specials are good. Love the Neighborhood feel. The food is filling and I think better than most typical "bar food". My kids love the food and always clear their plate. Service isn't always the fastest but I don't go to be in and out like fast food. We go to enjoy time out with family. Believe it or not we got their Stake Dinners and they were better than most stake houses. read more

Flashbacks has potential. It looks wonderful inside, and Franklin Township is dying for a local hangout. But the food is as bland as a hospital. There is seemingly no seasoning on anything, no special way to cook anything, etc. The wings taste like they came out of a Meijer bag and were thrown in the fryer. The chicken breast (on salads) literally does not taste like chicken -- it tastes like nothing. The steak on offer is of abysmal quality. Flashbacks needs at least one or two signature dishes immediately, and then needs to grow from there. Make a killer nachos platter and a hand-seasoned burger to start; then add in some ancho seasoned meat dishes or, heck, experiment with putting some store-bought rub on the wings. I so badly want this place to succeed, but they will not with hospital food. read more

I went here for the first time today. I was excited to try a new bar in the area. The food was absolutely horrible, but much superior than the service. I told the manager how rude our server was and his response was that his servers were not the problem it was our small group of 5. It took over 30 minutes to get drinks not just once but twice. No apology from our poofy curly dark haired server(can't remember her name.) He proceeded to get mouthy. Needles to say we left and found a much better bar. We will not be going back. I can deal with bad bar food, but not rude servers and degrading managers/owners. Also, if you know the owner apparently you get real service. This place won't make it a year if they keep this up. read more

Food WAS great when we started coming here about a year ago.... the philly pizza with the angry sauce was the BEST!!!!!! It was suggested to us from our server and we've been hooked since! BUT the owner had the bright idea to revamp the menu and along with some appetizers and other items it was removed. That was the ONLY reason we have come to eat here religiously and now it's not worth the drive. I can get drink specials and bar food closer to home. Very Disappointed with my experience. The food tasted ok, but was a bit overpriced. Our server was a very nice girl. For some reason or another it was very slow service that night. This place was great when they first opened with a top notch menu...now it really has turned into more of a pub and bar food (fried). Unfortunate because they used to have the best grilled fish tacos in town. If you do go and are looking for something not fried, the house salad isn't bad and served with fresh greens. read more

I give it an average rating because it is just like any bar food joint around. They all get their frozen heated up or fried food from the same suppliers. When I want a meal like this I get it out of the freezer and warm it myself for a fraction of the costs. If you like this kind of fare and don't like eating at home it is a good option because it is a clean, friendly alternative to many of the local bars. It seems to be well managed by folks that like what they do. My daughter and G-kids like the place so I guess it is just a generational thing. Went in for Matt Mason's show. Have never been here before this, upon arriving they were real busy, but they got me and the two with me seated... At the cost of someone else losing the table they walked away from. Ordered our food. I had a burger and my girlfriend had the taco salad. It came out rather quick and was ok. Not something I'd have to go back for but it was fine for a bar. But my burger was supposed to have cheddar cheese in it and topped with Swiss. There wasn't a bite of cheese cooked in. Between the 15-30 minute wait times to get a bottled beer fom the bar 10 feet away from me or having to ask twice, twice, I wasn't happy with the service. The waiter, who by the way the receipt said her name was "Echo" had the nerve to even say "I'm busy" when asked the second time for another drink. All said and done I enjoyed Matt's performance. Now time to pay. I give her a $20 bill and debit card, I wanted her to put the $20 towards it and the rest on the card... She brings the $20 back and ask if I wanted change... I said yes please, then she comes back with my change. All 5s by the way, no 1s, and picks up the signed copy of the recipes for the meal. She comes back a couple minutes later very very rude and snotty and says, "seriously, your not going to give me a tip"? I had to argue with her that I got the damn change for a $20 to tip her. But by now I am far from wanting to leave anything now. I was going to leave $7. The meal was $44 mainly being beer and drinks, with not so great service. I left a dollar instead. At the end the manager came over and was very rude and made us leave after us giving the no attitude about anything. Maybe someone should train their waiters better. In my half hour wait for one of my beers she managed to stroll outside for a 10 minute cigarette break and when I asked about it she looked at the bar as if it was their fault. She's the one who brought every drink to the table. Half way through the night I planned on going back, now I never plan to go here again. read more
