Food was good and the waitress was nice and happy. Beer and spirits were good. You need to experience it at least once!

The potato leek hand pie was delicious and so were the Che Chori veggie Shepard's Pie Empanadas. We of course had to try as many of the Irish specialty drinks including the SNUG Butter Beer with SHANKEYS WHIP, Ginger Beer and Vanilla Cream. We had never tried Shankey's before but immediately picked up a bottle at Total Wine with If you LOVE Ginger Beer definitely try the Irish Mule S9. We also enjoyed the BELFAST COFFEE made with Pangur Potin, Shuv Cold Brew, Simple, Vanilla Cream and Cardamon. Snug Whiskey Fest is coming! May 15-17, 2026. They had the door open, which was letting in the fresh almost-spring air.) Drinks are pretty much all they have at Snug, to be honest. Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

The daily food and drink specials made choosing lunch even harder (in the best way). We ordered the breaded tenderloin and the Hot Italian sandwich, and both were excellent. Now...let's talk about that Indiana tenderloin. It hangs so far off the bun that the bread is basically just there for moral support. Crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and exactly what you hope for when ordering a Hoosier classic. The Hot Italian didn't disappoint either--loaded with flavor and paired with fries that were crispy, well-seasoned, and dangerously addictive. Fries Worth Fighting Over? Inside you'll find wall-to-wall TVs, a stage for live music, and regular events like poker and trivia nights, making it just as much of a destination as it is a neighborhood sports bar. Whether you're stopping in to catch a game, grab lunch, or meet friends for a cold beer, Whiskey Business nails that relaxed local-bar atmosphere. Good food, generous portions, friendly people, and plenty of reasons to come back.

Our waitress came by and we ordered a beer and an iced tea. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea which I did not drink, it was not plain unsweetened tea. Seemed like it had a lot of artificial lemon in it, not sure, but I know I did not like it. The hubby had a Corona and our friend had a pitcher of beer. We perused the menus and it did take a good while for the waitress to come back and take the order. The hubby ordered a hamburger and fries and our friend had the buffalo chicken wrap and I ordered the twice baked tater skins. The husband said his fries were cold and the burger looked like a frozen patty as it was perfectly formed and it was just ok. I may have ordered the wrong dish myself as I did not care for the potato cheese mixture that was inside so I ended up stripping all the insides out and just ate the skins themselves. Husband had to flag down the waitress to get the bill and keep in mind that they were not busy. It is a typical bar atmosphere in here with TVs all around the perimeter. We were sitting at a high-top table but they had both low and high.

Everyone we encountered was awesome. The drinks were excellent. We didn't eat, but the food looked so good that we both wished we'd eaten here instead of Livery earlier. I've helped a little bit with a few of their events, but I'm just some concerned queer who got livid when he heard about this, and I thought that implying I'm with a group would make my words carry more weight. Stupid, and I make exactly one apology: for lying about my affiliation, I'm sorry. The organization has also asked me not to abut Shelby Street Tavern's reply to my review on Google, and I have grudgingly agreed. However, the post stays. I will notate my deception, and will also remove the needlessly rude section at the end, but the rest stands. ORIGINAL POST, EDITED AS EXPLAINED ABOVE: This is honestly a great bar, mostly, hence the 5-stars for Food, Service, and Atmosphere. I was initially glad my organization [NOTE: THIS IS A LIE, SEE ABOVE] chose to patronize this place. But that appreciation ended last night when bar management decided that keeping things quiet was more important than dealing with an assault and battery that happened at the bar. If the genders and races in the situation had been reversed, my friend would still be in jail right now, while the harasser in this situation got to finish out their night feeling good about getting away with what they've done. Someone reserving your bar for an event does not magically get the right to assault and batter someone. Never mind that the person doing the A&B has a history of harassing the person they chased out of the bar... [NOTE: FINAL PARAGRAPH REMOVED FOR BEING UNNECESSARILY RUDE]
