New Irish pub opening in Irvington. Not sure of opening day.
    Kara M.

I've never been to Ireland, but I would imagine they have many pubs like SNUG there! It was so quaint and cozy on a cool day. SNUG is located in historic Irvington. They really did a great job with the decor inside. Wood, greens and a tv with scenes of Ireland showing. Any whiskey or liquor is behind that bar. They have so much! I ordered an Irish coffee and it was perfect. Yum! They had a couple different types of chips called Tato's from Ireland. They have a whiskey club and have tastings.

The coziest bar in Indy (name is very fitting). We stopped in and were lucky enough to snag the booth table near the entrance. This is such a cozy nook and had a window to the bar. There are lots of Irish whiskeys to try. Luckily, they offer flights so you can try a few. Great spot! We will be back!

Pro's: Free street parking all around, cozy environment, friendly staff with great suggestions, a stellar drink menu with a few food items as well, fun atmosphere. Honestly that's it. Only a pro list for Snug. I can't wait to go back! They are having a block party for those who will be in the area for St. Paddy's Day and need a spot to celebrate!

Stopped by SNUG for the first time on St. Patrick's Day. What better time to visit an authentic Irish pub, right? It happened to be Monday and they had $5 pints. There were several Irish drafts on tap including a cider. I didn't do any whiskey but SNUG is known for their extensive list. You can get cocktails also and they were reasonably priced. The space is definitely "snug" for sure. It is no more than a glorified living room that doubles as a pub. From that perspective it's no different than pubs that you will find overseas. Hopefully when you arrive somebody else is leaving and you can snag a table. I definitely want to visit SNUG again the next time I am in Irvington. It's a cozy spot to grab a Black and Tan or two.

The SNUG is quite possibly the best Irish Whiskey pub/bar in America. Located in the historic Irvington neighborhood of Indianapolis the community that has been fostered at the SNUG in its short tenure is nothing short of amazing. While Jim Arnoldt is the face of the SNUG online there is an A-List team that runs the business, and works there. The SUNG is a small space - max capacity 49 according to the Fire Marshall - but it has the largest Irish Whiskey selection in Indianapolis, the state of Indiana, the Midwest, and quite possibly the country. There are regular Whiskey Club events where Distillers, Blenders, and Ambassadors will guide you through great whiskeys in a fun and engaging environment. The pint (of Guinness) is pretty darn good. On my scale it's a 4.25 (out of 5) with the head having a decent grip to the glass as it's happily consumed. Food wise your choice is either Tayto's (9 flavors available) or a snack plate. If you're looking for a slice of Irish hospitality in Indianapolis then this is the place for you. Sláinte

All I could think about when I sat down was "snug as a bug in a rug" haha! Have you been to Snug? Because if not, you should check it out! My husband found it when he was looking for an Irish bar around St Patrick's Day and tonight was the first opportunity we've had to go. It's the most cozy little bar tucked in on a side street in downtown Irvington. It's all Irish drinks and the service was phenomenal when I needed help picking out a whiskey from their extensive list. They even have some yummy Irish pot pies and empanadas when you need a small snack. Can't wait to come back!

Thankfully we were able to get a table right away because like the sign says, it's SNUG! Friend chose our drinks and we weren't disappointed. We watched a squirrel in the woods on tv. Would recommend for a drink and chill atmosphere.

I've never been to Ireland, but my partner has. They said that Snug is straight out of Ireland! The dark wood, the green accents, and the Irish whiskeys and beers...it was an excellent way to spend part of our Saturday outside of Ireland!

What an adorable new spot in Irvington!! This Irish pub is small but mighty. The decor is so eclectic and I found myself looking around at all the Knick knacks. They obviously sell Guinness and other drafts, but what I really loved were their slight twists in classic cocktails. I got a gin and tonic but theirs is made with a rose infused gin. So good!! Bartenders were friendly and helpful and it seems like the place is pretty lively. It does get kinda loud but it's all in good fun and adds to the exciting vibe. This will definitely be a staple every time I'm in Irvington!

    Fine example of Irish whisky.

Always friendly with great beer and a fabulous selection of Irish whiskies. Snug only seats about 44 people so the name really fits. If you're in the Irvington vicinity don't forget to swing by.

We went here for a drink before dinner. This bar is lovely! It was such a fun escape - it truly felt like we were in Ireland. The bar tenders were super welcoming, as were the other people at the bar. It's so cozy and unique. The whiskey selection is fantastic and the hand pies smelled delicious. The Guinness was also 10/10. We'll be back!!

We've only gotten into this place 1 time, get there earlier cause it gets packed and SNUG quickly! But what a fun environment. This place is a seat yourself establishment, the tables are small and the seats low to the ground but very comfortable. The food menu is limited and we have not gotten to try anything yet. The beer selection is mostly traditional Irish style beer with a full spirits bar, so they do have something for everyone . We will definitely try to beat the crowd and make our way back into!!

    Great window views!

The Snug lives up to its cozy name. The space is tight, but the menu is accommodating. The staff is lovely and memorable. I wouldn't bring a bachelor party here- this is a place for lovers of flavor, culture, and authentic pub atmosphere. The pricing is extremely fair for the tasting experience and music. This is the tiny pub you've always pictured reading novels- a hideaway that's cozy and friendly.

The Whisk has been on our road trip list for awhile, and we finally went with some friends. Greencastle has never been high on my priority list of places to visit, but I'd heard rumors about "The Whisk" being a great place to visit for whisky lovers like myself. And the rumors were true! Walking up to The Whisk...well, that doesn't happen. You have to walk down some stairs that are nondescript, giving the entrance a very old fashioned speakeasy vibe. I immediately fell in love. It feels like a secret club that I'm a part of! The decor is big city speakeasy vibe and lets you know immediately that regardless of shoe you are, you're welcome at the Whisk (see some of the pictures of the decor). We went on a Friday because they have a dinner menu only on Fridays and it changes every week. Tosh and her husband, Joel, are the co-owners and curators of all the food and cocktails. Although there are always small plates on the menu, the full menu complete with dessert was exactly what we wanted. The presentation and flavors of the dinner and drinks felt like being in Chicago or New York, not Greencastle! It was a delightful anachronistic experience. The blackened catfish and The Ghost whisky cocktail were some of the best things I've ingested in a long time. I can't wait to go back!
