I went recently and saw a band in the patio area. It's a nice quaint and clean bar / pub. We had some appetizers / snack food and it was decent. I will try some of their other food offerings in the future if and when I go back. The reviews on their other food ex: sandwiches etc are highly favorable. The staff was sharp, super attentive, active and hard working. I really liked the decor. I especially liked all the signs in the women's bathroom. When I go next time, I might contribute one if they have space on the wall. It's a laid back place to hang out and that's all good with me. read more

Five stars all the way. The catfish was outstanding--crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and full of flavor. Easily one of the best I've had in a long time. Nice neighborhood bar! Really good service and our food was piping hot and delicious. They were busy today for lunch but we still parked right near the door. I had an Amaretto Sour and an order of potato skins. Good skins, crunchy on the outside and tender inside with plenty of cheese and bacon top, served with sour cream on the side (you can get ranch too). The hubby had the special of the day, Italian pork sandwich and fries and he enjoyed it and mentioned going back again. Our friend had the breaded Pork Tenderloin and fries and he liked it as well. It looked like one I would like as it was on the thicker side. We will definitely try this spot again. read more

The Corner Bar is located on the corner of Epler and Meridian Street, which is just West of 135. The parking lot fills up quickly, but you can park along side of the parking lot for a few unmarked spaces. The restaurant is basically divided into 3 rooms or sections. The bar area, the dining area, and deck space. During the pandemic, they built a large deck on the side of the restaurant, and it's enclosed with the all-weather enclosure. It is too hot inside for us to sit in today. We sat in the bar area, which was almost full. Our server, Angel S., delivered menus within minutes of us sitting down. She didn't miss a beat all evening. Drinks were refilled quickly, food orders were taken correctly as requested, and our check was delivered timely. The menu offers many sandwiches, reubens, tenderloin, catfish sandwiches, fish n' chips, and burgers, to name a few of which are highly recommended. Pizzas and dinner are another good option. They don't offer a lunch menu but instead have a daily lunch special. My husband had the daily special, a cheese burger and fries, minus cheese, and it did not disappoint. It was slightly overcooked from how he requested but still fine for him. A generous order of delicious fries accompanied the burger. I ordered the Blackened Catfish sandwich on a hoagie bun with onions rings ($1.29 upgrade) prepared just as I requested. The catfish was truly delicious, and I appreciate the chef understands that blackened doesn't mean burnt. The seasoning covered the fish well, the fish was tender, flaky, and I so enjoyed my lunch. The atmosphere was a room full of friends enjoying their meals and beverages with lots of laughter. The music was great, classic rock n' roll with a juke box in the room and played at a conversation volume. Great service, delicious food, and a fun atmosphere. My husband had been booked here for a music show with friends. Terrific venue. Very nice place to listen to music. We were there for 6 hours so we had time to sample a variety of menu items. Catfish was very good. Cole slaw wasn't my favorite. Pizza was tasty. My friend enjoyed the fried mushrooms but the French onion soup wasn't anything special. The chicken fingers and house made chips were very good. Service was excellent. Drinks and food brought promptly. Appreciative crowd too. Parking is a little crowded with a large number of people in attendance. We are up from Nashville. This was a pretty nice place to play/eat/enjoy music. Not nearly as crowded as Nashville bars. This is a nice hole in the wall bar that has nighly live music and drink specials. It has three sections that bar area with bar and dining room seating, another dining area and an enclosed patio area with dining that they host their nightly live music. The bar has their regulars and they know a lot of their patron by name. Most of the staff id friendly, while a few are somewhat stand offish unless they knew you. The bar has a a light menu with wings, tenderloins, fries, burgers and other pub type food. They stop serving at 10 PM sharp, so get your order in early. They have a small parking lot with some overflow parking available across the street. You will find a juke box, and some type of gambling machine in the bar area. The bar area also has a few televisions around with sports playing. It looks like the area that have live music is an expansion. It is enclosed and very well heated. It is a nice cozy place to eat, drink and listen to some good music. The drinks are small, but pretty stiff and very cost efficient. This is a very nice place, and one of the few Southern Indianapolis bars. You can get some reasonably priced food and drink while listening to some local live bands. First time there, it definitely won't be the last. Employees were super friendly and the service was top notch. My companion got a bacon cheeseburger, which was delicious and actually filled him up! I got the shrimp basket and fries, and again, it was great. read more

Stopped in here after looking for an Asian grocery store in the area, and after my hunt, I was starved. Saw they were close by and didn't expect much, but I saw delicious, greasy looking food photos on the yelp page, so I tried my luck. I was not disappointed! I had heard about the Corner Bar. My significant partner and I thought would go on Saturday night. We loved it. She had beef nachos and I had boneless chicken wings. The food was delicious. W were there to hear a friend play and the bar set up open flame heater... unattended. The owner then proceeded to come and verbally harass friends, family & myself twice. To the point where the one left in tears. Very sad because our server was awesome and the food was great. This place is a HOLE. Weird that the parking lot and overflow parking is consistently full.. I wasn't looking for upscale.. but was hoping for a quaint cozy place. Did I get it... NO.... I wish the Southside would try a little harder to try to push away from the redneck stereotype I am giving it a 3 star because the wings were amazing and my husband had the corner bar burger which he said was better then expected. If you like bar food this is it!!!! The atmosphere is dive bar slash tavern slash live music heaven. Tenderloin is the bomb. Margaritas come in beer glass, which you know I hate, but are tasty and go with the theme. Pizza. Nachos. Wings. Super fab. Live music is always great and early . Drinks are sooooo cheap! So mad that I forgot to get pics of my food but I was so hungry and it looked so good I couldn't wait. Posting pics of the indie atmosphere instead. I was in Indy visiting family and had some time the night before my flight to check out a local place. I was near the airport so good choices were either downtown or south side of Indy. I chose the south side since the place had good reviews of being friendly and fun. I had a really good time. Met some locals and learned about the neighborhood and what it was all about. The Midwest is my roots and the best thing about it is the people. Fun and friendly. This place does that. They also some good beers on tap. I had Yuengling and Bells Two Hearted Ale. Great place for some live music and pub food! We came to see an 80's band and they were a lot of fun, reasonable food prices and VERY reasonable drink prices. Will likely make this a regular spot in the summer, the band was outside and there's a covered deck or a huge yard full of tables and a full bar, plenty of people dancing, casual atmosphere, highly recommend if you want to relax outside and enjoy some music. This place is nasty and I'm not just talking about the food. I would not ever step foot back in the place. Truly don't know how they stay in business. One word of advice to the wait staff - stop complaining about how hard you work and don't sit down at a table to take an order then complain to us about your manager, and talk badly about customers and gossiping, it makes it very stressful for the other customers. Buyer beware - go there if you must, but know you've been warned, the food is awful and the waitresses will talk badly about you if you say or do anything that might upset them. My hope is they improve and the waitresses gossip and complain after hours away from the customers, or better yet appreciate customers. read more

So... The "new" old meridian pub. Not *too much* has changed, from the front face. The catfish is still delicious, philly steak is good, but now they even have taco Tuesdays! (Amongst, methinks, a corona special) The patio is in better shape and has been treated for the long haul. More than adequate service, a lot of the same faces floating around as far as the regulars go:) The walls have less sports memorabilia... Doesn't bother me, but I did think it was neat... Management seems much more capable from the fly on the wall standpoint. Super friendly and taking care of business. A plus... Busted knuckle on tap (atleast, for now) If I have to gripe about one thing, they no longer carry Bulleit bourbon. While this is my favorite, I can find something else good ( woodford, or a few good scotches) The second I order a Bulleit this becomes 5 stars. Actually, I tried... The second I drink one... What a wonderful find on my short trip to Indiana! We found this gem on yelp and decided to stop in for beers and the game. I cannot day enough great things about the food and the service! The space was air conditioned and spacious. There was an outdoor area with lawn games and live music. Inside was lively and had several televisions and a juke box. They have awesome beer specials and bar specials every night of the week. We ordered the wings and the mozzarella sticks, which were super yummy. The atmosphere is awesome, the bartenders are great, and the drink specials are the best around! We love stopping in on Fridays and racking up credits on TouchTunes, and for special events like the Super Bowl or St. Patty's day there's always tons of going on, from live music to hangover buffet, this place is a gem!
