Note: I can't say my review is 100% accurate since I've never tried bar food until today. Therefore, I can't compare it to any other bar restaurants but solely on my own opinion and experience. My dad ordered a breaded tenderloin with tater tots and I got the shredded bbq pork sandwich with fries. My dad's tenderloin was HUGE and for the price you're paying we were surprised! My dad rated his tenderloin a 7/10, he said there was nothing special about it but you get a lot for what you're paying. My shredded bbq pork sandwich was so delicious I finished it in 2 minutes. It was bursting with flavor! You could tell the bbq was marinated before cooked. Unfortunately, the fries were a big NO! They were oily/greasy and tasted like fattening. Thankfully my server was kind enough to replace the fries with tater tots instead which were better. Service was alright, she checked up on us, nothing special. Looked like she was having a bad day. Ambiance: What I expected from a typical bar setup. They have a few dart/pool games for entertainment which is fun.

I used to enjoy coming to this place mainly because the service was great and the food when half off was an awesome deal. Now, it's a pub that's overpriced and the service is mediocre. I came in with my husband and honestly I wanted to enjoy something with him but my usual was taken off of the menu and the item I would normally get on the half priced was no longer part of the deal and they raised the price. My husband ended up getting the chicken tenders and fries and I ordered the mini hotdog bites. They weren't bad but for the original price and receiving like 6 pieces is kind of ridiculous which makes it like $1 a piece. Wish the mushrooms were still half off because that was my go to. The waitress literally brought a pitcher and I believe we were checked on 1 other time. We had to ask a different waitress for napkins ans she had an attitude. Probably the worst experience I've had here. Will not be coming back. I did leave a decent tip as well just out of respect but it definitely wasn't deserved.

I was hoping to give this place a little better rating, but there are some problems that customers should be aware of. First, the bartender/manager is the only one who works days during the week on the front end. So, she was hustling throughout the lunch period. Unfortunately, there were customers and the waitress wandering around (even delivering food) without the masks on or in place. We figured it out before she came over and masked up. Since there wasn't enough business to hire a waitress, there were waits between phases. We got our food fairly quickly, but when I was ready to check out, she had stepped out front to smoke and left nobody in place to allow us to pay or to get a to go box. I had to go outside and ask her to come in. I understand people need breaks, but she should have checked her customers needs first before disappearing outside. The sandwiches we ordered were good. My wife got a pulled pork that had a smoky flavor she liked. My tenderloin was a classic Hoosier style that greatly exceeded the bun. Good flavor on both and not overcooked. They do have a well stocked bar, but I didn't see any sodas listed on the menu and they only seemed to carry the commercial beers that are mass produced elsewhere. Maybe the regular customers like cheap beer. I would have liked to seen some local craft beers offered (at least in cans). So I just ordered an unsweetened ice tea. Lost sales. Oh well, it was a filling meal and not bad, but I don't think I would stop again with the lack of covid enforcement and minimal staffing. Review #3829

The potato leek hand pie was delicious and so were the Che Chori veggie Shepard's Pie Empanadas. We of course had to try as many of the Irish specialty drinks including the SNUG Butter Beer with SHANKEYS WHIP, Ginger Beer and Vanilla Cream. We had never tried Shankey's before but immediately picked up a bottle at Total Wine with If you LOVE Ginger Beer definitely try the Irish Mule S9. We also enjoyed the BELFAST COFFEE made with Pangur Potin, Shuv Cold Brew, Simple, Vanilla Cream and Cardamon. Snug Whiskey Fest is coming! May 15-17, 2026. They had the door open, which was letting in the fresh almost-spring air.) Drinks are pretty much all they have at Snug, to be honest. Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

Small, little, somewhat burnt, STEAMING HOT, not-so-buttery and not-so-cajun-ish corn on the cobs. Next we have the chicken. I would've rather grown a chicken, killed it for some wings, made a hat with its feathers and made sensory toys with its eyes The buns were probably the best part. The lettuce was cut smaller than you could ever imagine, the chicken had a good amount but tasted like it was drowned in Franks Red Hot Sauce. The tomato was a tomato This isn't all the restaurant though. The other times I visited here were AMAZING The times I sat in the big room were good because, there were TVs to save my boredom, the built in chargers were neat, and the food was just better! It's cozy and very laid back with high top tables. I ordered an Old Fashioned but mixed drinks weren't really on offer unless it was something like rum and coke. I had a beer. It was fine. We were there for about an hour and a half. I would definitely return. The vibes were slow paced. We moved on to The Checkered Flag. Wowza!! It was a Thursday night but the place was hopping. We were joined by another friend with plans to have a bite to eat. The menu is unbelievable. So much to choose from. We were kind of boring because 3 of us chose the same thing and the other two chose the same item. Two had the pork tenderloin. Both agreed it was excellent. Three of us had the BBQ Pork spud. It's a giant baked potato with butter, a good spread of pimento cheese, moist pulled pork, BBQ sauce, coleslaw and green onions. It was fantastic. Normally the pork can become a bit dry. This was not the case. Cooked perfectly. I was able to order the Old Fashioned. They apologized because they were out of oranges but I was fine. It was a very good drink. There happened to be two musicians performing. I was quite impressed. This tavern was very very impressive. We all agreed to return Our final stop was Herrmann. It's a small brewery tucked away off a quiet street. We were offered several tastings of the beers on offer. We were all able to find something to our liking. I had a porter. There are tables for four spread around the seating area. It's comfortable and definitely a neighborhood haunt. All three places were definitely neighborhood taverns. The Checkered Flag was hands down the best! Indy has so much to offer!
