    Quesadilla

Still pretty great location with all the reasons to love it as with the last ownership. But it also seems a bit more done up and open space as compared to prior ownership. It must have undergone a renovation. Same basic menu as before. The wings are quite good and somewhere between bdubs and ale emporium on meatiness. I also love the quesadilla. It's a very slept on menu item. I will say, it had more ingredients with prior ownership as now it's just chicken and cheese with a side of salsa and sour cream. However, you can do an add-on of onions and jalapeños but here's a pro-tip. Ask for light jalapeños. I love jalapeños and there was an insane amount of jalapeños in there. I must have picked off 20 at least and there were still too many. Probably ate 20 more. See picture. There's also usually great service at the bar area. I don't know if there's different servers for the dining area so I can't speak to that.

    Let there be light!

For opening night, things went well. The upgrades from the previous bar that was there were MUCH NEEDED. It's brighter. The floor isn't sticky, and the bathrooms work. It was crowded, but I think the locals were itching to have a watering hole. The servers kept up. We had drinks and our food and a lot of laughs in an hour. The food was good. Fresh burger patties, but slightly pinker than expected. The tenderloin was good, but a bit smaller. The tots were fried nice and the fries were good. The only real complaint is and was the VOLUME LEVEL!! There are no sound baffles in the ceiling or anywhere else, so everything echos. The TouchTunes was up loud, so it had everyone trying to talk over it. Then everyone is trying to talk over each other. By the end of dinner, we were yelling to have a conversation. If you're expecting a quiet meal, this might not be the place. We are happy to have a local spot to go to, and I'm sure Freddie's will be up to the task.

Thai chili wings are pretty good, and wings are good size! Not the tiny type. Had a great time here.

The potato leek hand pie was delicious and so were the Che Chori veggie Shepard's Pie Empanadas. We of course had to try as many of the Irish specialty drinks including the SNUG Butter Beer with SHANKEYS WHIP, Ginger Beer and Vanilla Cream. We had never tried Shankey's before but immediately picked up a bottle at Total Wine with If you LOVE Ginger Beer definitely try the Irish Mule S9. We also enjoyed the BELFAST COFFEE made with Pangur Potin, Shuv Cold Brew, Simple, Vanilla Cream and Cardamon. Snug Whiskey Fest is coming! May 15-17, 2026. Exclusive Tastings, TWO Brand Expo events, Festival Bottle Releases. Snug Whiskey Fest is Brand Storytelling, One Drop at a Time.

They had the door open, which was letting in the fresh almost-spring air.) Drinks are pretty much all they have at Snug, to be honest. Don't visit thinking you're going to find a meal, because they don't have a lot of food beyond locally made hand pies and empanadas, a grazing board, and something called Snug Nuts. (Which brings to mind certain ... images.) I didn't get any food, just a Road & Coke, which is a whiskey with a Coke and lime, similar to a Cuba libre, although a Cuba uses rum. It was delicious, but a little light on the booze. It was only $5 and change, though, so it's kind of like what do you expect, really. It was a nice drink to sip slowly while I sat in the small, cozy bar. Speaking of bar aesthetics: Snug lives up to its name. It's tiny and dark but inviting. It feels like stepping into a hug. A hug that can also provide you with copious amounts of Irish whiskey, which sounds like the best kind of hug, to me.

Had a great Dad's Day here -- lots of tasty choices on the menu, huge number of great beers on tap,…read morenot too challenging for Dad's palate. Plus, they had a few vegan choices for me (highly caloric, not super healthy, but still, they had more than one choice, and vegan offerings that weren't salads). They even had three tasty mocktails and some alcohol-free beers (since I don't do booze anymore either)! The veggie burger came with a squishy bean patty, with peas in it -- not my fave texture or flavor but tolerable -- and a tahini sauce... but they barely put any sauce on it. A gourmet, no-high-fructose-corn-syrup ketchup or tomato jam might have been better, or at least more of the tahini. It did come with a nice pile o' crunchy pickles (love) and a lovely green salad with balsamic dressing (way too many carrots). Service was fast and friendly. Ambience is upscale bar, with fun and interesting murals on the walls -- they had a terrific music playlist going, and the Hubbins and I ended up kind of dancing in place without realizing it. Public parking lot directly across the street meant we didn't get soaked by the rainstorm, and didn't have to drive around forever dealing with construction, looking for a parking spot. A nice, easy option for dinner with the fam without having to work/think too hard about it -- something to suit all of our varied diets.
