Asada Taco

Looking for a late night meal and went to two places that were supposed to be open but were closed and locked, which led to this taco truck. I was surprisingly pleased as the reviews initially made me hesitant. The prices are the main problem here as each taco is $3, so they're relatively high. However, they do have a lot more meat options (6 total options) including beef lengua (tongue) compared to the cheaper tacos that focus on 3-4 classic meats. Got a few tacos and a quesadilla. Meats were all very good but what separates this place from a lot of others is the tortillas. They're fried in grease so they're more greasy, but the best part is the crisp crunch that comes along with the tortilla. This is the case for both tacos and quesadillas, probably including everything else as well. The crispy outer layer of a shell enhances the entire taste. The additional grease also helps, but maybe it's a bit too greasy. I really enjoyed the quesadilla but I'm not sure if I'd justify the $12 price point. Four pieces of a semicircle that are perfectly crispy, cheesy, and greasy along with a generous amount of sour cream and some lettuce, the quesadilla felt pretty well made. It took quite a bit longer than the tacos which is to be expected, but the end result was delicious with stringy cheese as I pulled each piece apart. Again, the price point was the drawback here as I can get more quesadilla for less at other places, so then there's a matter of quantity versus quality which is an argument dependent on the day. Overall a great stop for late night tacos or other Mexican foods whether it's for a late night snack or a meal. When you're craving some munchies, you just want to eat but the greasiness here can be beneficial as well as the fact that each layer of the foods (tortilla, meat, cheese if applicable, etc) are made with care and consideration.

The food here is so delicious. They're quick (waited 3 min for 3 tacos) paid 13$ for the food. Would recommend

This is the best spot for late night tacos in Fremont. They never let me down! Quick service, perfectly greasy tacos, cheap prices, and late night hours, what more could you ask for? My go to order is one chicken taco and one lengua taco. Really delish!

Update: I've tried the tacos and they definitely changed my experience. Small and a little bit greasy, but super tasty. I could definitely see going through a lot of them after a few beers with friends!

Flair Taco will have you styling and profiling aaalllll night long! Wooooo!! Okay, so that was my Ric Flair impression and, if you don't know who that is, do a quick Youtube search then come back and finish reading this review. Other than the name, this taco truck has nothing else in common with the 16 time world champion and hall of fame professional wrestler although their tacos are good enough to figure four leg lock most of their competitors into submission so I guess they have that going for them. Seriously, if there was a championship belt for tacos in Fremont, these guys would be holding it up high for all to see. The tacos are cheap and delicious which is about all you can ask for from a taco truck and I can't seem to keep from stopping by whenever I am in the neighborhood. I have yet to try any of their other menu items although I have seen a lot of people order tortas and the burritos look pretty massive when handed out so I can only imagine all the deliciousness going on underneath that foil wrapper. If you are in the area, give these guys a shot, they are fast, friendly, and will suplex you off the top of their truck if you don't like their food. Okay, maybe that last part isn't true but you get the idea.

The hushwe meat? Excellent. The carnitas are "out of this world" (ant Cowboy Bebop fans?). The guacamole felt home-made in the best way. My partner's spicy chicken tortilla soup was delicious -- spicy but not too much so, with a lovely smoky note to it. The service was quick and cheerful. They let us hang out for a few minutes and write our reviews and finish our Jarritos -- even after close. The ambiance was great: colorful, cheerful, and energetic without being overwhelming. The playlist was eclectic and very cool. We heard Lupe Fiasco, Deltron 3030, and hip hop from around the world. If you find yourself wandering around Ballard looking for a satisfying, cozy meal, you cannot go wrong with Lupe's Situ Tacos!

The tacos were packed with flavor, and the taquitos had a satisfying crunch that made them a standout. The margarita was refreshing and paired nicely with the food. I also liked the colorful decor and relaxed setting, which make it a good choice for meeting up after work or enjoying a casual meal with friends. Ordering at the counter takes a little getting used to, and some seating areas feel a bit tight, but neither issue overshadowed the visit. I'd gladly come back to sample more of the menu.

Tonight we stumbled onto our new favorite Mexican spot…read more I was craving birria, and since one of our favorite hobbies is trying new restaurants, I asked in a local Facebook group who had the best birria near us. After lots of great suggestions, we decided to detour and head to Taco City. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff -- always a great start. We kicked things off with the Dip Trio: chips, salsa, guacamole, and queso. It was fantastic. The guac and chips were on par with my longtime favorite spot, the queso was rich and delicious, and the salsa had a unique flavor that really stood out. It easily could have fed four or more people. I ordered the birria tacos. They were generously filled with flavorful beef and served with equally delicious consommé. For my personal preference, I would have loved them just a little crispier -- but otherwise, they absolutely hit the spot. My favorite dining partner ordered the Taco Trio -- two carnitas and one chicken. He's an "authentic taco" guy, and he said they were fabulous. As we were checking out, our server suggested we try the nachos next time. Don't worry -- we will definitely be back. This one just jumped to the top of our favorites list.

It's a cozy taco shop that's medium sized with high tables and low tables. There's lots of pineapples that catch your eye. I ordered through the self service kiosk and got 7 tacos. 5 regular carne asada tacos and 2 chukis specials. The food arrived after 10 minutes of waiting. I was so happy with the presentation, lovely colors of green, brown, and red! The chukis special puts pineapple on their tacos! Never tried that before in California. The tacos were juicy, filling, and delicious. The pineapples added a great sour sweet taste. Would come here again!

The tacos themselves were pretty dry with standard taco seasoning flavor. The asada and Chukis are serviceable. The pollo is a no-go, super dry meat and no real garnish to speak of. I guess you need to add that as extra? The guac is most like salsa guac, but it's cheap so that explains that. Honestly the mini burrito is better. Better tortilla and flavor. Not sure how that is but...it's true. Maybe because the "quac" doesn't overpower the rest of the ingredients. The inside isn't very nice, just grab and go I recommend. I think this place makes most sense as a late night food truck than a physical location restaurant. It's a good $ value so that's a positive.
