I tried really hard to give this truck a chance. I've ordered the Al Pastor tacos, The Lingua Burrito, and The Chorizo Burrito. Every time, the experience did not taste good at all. Extremely poor excuse for tacos. Staff handled our money then started preparing the food without washing hands or using gloves. Young man preparing food had to be asked to use gloves. I want to like this food truck since it's so close to home but the food is just so-so. The quesadilla I ordered came out soggy and flimsy. Not the standard crispy tortilla shell I'm used to. I don't get why the reviews are so bad! I actually found this place while walking by and thank goodness I didn't look it up on Yelp first, otherwise I might have been deterred to trying it. I ordered the pastor and asada tacos, and boy, were they both awesome! Both super juicy, full of flavor, perfectly seasoning and not fatty at all! Served with finely diced onions, cilantro, a lime wedge and some radishes, these tacos were the ultimate treat and a steal at $2 each! I had 4 tacos from Flair Taco last night during Hop Scotch and I was pretty impressed. They had great flavor and they were CHEAP. $1.50 for 2 tacos is what I'm told they cost since they were delivered to me. No flash or flair (contrary to the name), just real deal tacos. Beef, radishes, lime, onion, cilantro. Done. Just as they should be. The portions are what any other authentic truck will serve up which is why they're so cheap. Sure, there's other trucks in the area that I enjoy a lot for things like pupusas, but I'll happily swing by Taco Flair for carne asada tacos again anytime. read more

Huh. I would expect that a place that is situated by a bunch of Fremont bars that they would have peak food right before or right after the "rush"--maybe even during the rush. I was at a wine event nearby, helping one of the sponsors, which meant that in addition to some event appetizers, I only had 3 tasters of wine over 5 hours--meaning I wasn't even CLOSE to being buzzed. Although I don't think even a heavy buzz would have helped me in overcoming what I put in my mouth last night: I looked at the menu, and decided to have a chicken burrito. Basic. Good for 1am, I thought. You know, filler, so you can fall asleep without hunger pains waking you at 4am. Instead, I had anger pains at 4am. 10 min after ordering, I was presented with a flour tortilla burrito, that had obviously been re-heated multiple times, the edges were SO hard, I spit out the food to see if I had gotten cardboard in my food. No. Seriously. I thought I had been given a recycled paper product. The rice was hard, flavorless, and dry (remember, this is right before 'prime time' for a taco truck in the bar scene) the raw onions were at the bottom of the burrito only. BLECH. For the second time in two minutes, I spit out something I thought for sure was a business card. But it was "chicken." I have never been served chicken so bad, I couldn't tell if it was organic, consumable material. $6 out of my pocket, and a jaw workout that I frankly didn't need. I don't CARE if I am begging for food following a night out. I don't care if a bunch of orphans will receive new clothes if I eat another chicken burrito (well okay, you got me, how could I say no to orphans??) but let it be known, that sober or not, I won't be back. They ran out of Carne Asada and pastor. Your a Taco Truck and you run our of your main meats. It was 5 pm on a Sunday. People will come to eat. My buddy ordered 4 pork tacos and a side of rice and beans. I ordered a chicken burrito. How simple can this order be? We walk into the head shop and browse around. In 10 minutes we go back to the truck and the worker hands us a bag of food. We jump into the car and head off to trader joes. After we go back to Ballard to have dinner. We unwrap the bag. Chris hands the covered foil plate to his wife. And he hands me my burrito. She unwraps the plate and starts to yell at Chris. They opened it up and they only have 2 tacos. They ordered 4. Now Chris has nothing to eat. I take a bite out of my burrito. This has got be the worst burrito I ever had. Next to taco del mar. Dry, bland, and just not memorable. I knew when I had their Tacos the last time it would not have changed. Next time I'll get pad thai at Kaosamai across the street. I dig the concept of the taco truck, but I like it to be tasty. I had a couple of tacos here and, even after drinking, they weren't that great. Expensive considering they don't actually have a building and employ one dude, not so tasty, but well constructed. People who love this taco truck need to get themselves down to the Southside and see what a taco truck can really be. Or at least over to 45th. Or up to Home Depot. Or . . . well, you get where I'm going. This place had everything going in it's favor when I walked up. I was starving and craving a taco truck, but too short of time to drive to 45th. Then, like a mirage, this appeared to answer my prayers. I began to doubt those prayers when I walked up and saw that the man holding down the fort was decidedly not Mexican. Now I'm not saying that white guys can't cook tasty Mexican food, I'm just saying that this white guy couldn't cook tasty Mexican food. My quesadilla (both the most expensive and the smallest quesadilla I've ever gotten at any taco truck) tasted like cheese melted between two tortillas. I realize that this is the textbook definition of a quesadilla but I've come to expect something more from taco trucks. What was it missing? Lard? Maybe. Spice? Definitely. Grease? Most certainly not. Whatever the missing component was, I was sadly disappointed for it's lose. I have a distinct feeling that this particular taco truck is geared more towards the drunken hipster, so I'd suggest a few mojitos and some very tight jeans before trying Flair Taco. BTW, Flair? I've never been to a Taco Truck before yet people seem to rave on and on about them. So I tried one! What did I love the most about Flair Taco? The vegetarian options this truck had to offer. Flair Taco offered a veggie option with assorted vegetables and also a seasoned tofu option to any of their items as well :) That kinda rocks! The food was decent for street side but I'm just not sure if it was the most hygenic of experiences. I had the veggie quesadila which cost $6 (I think qudoba or chipotle are cheaper) but you pay for convenience apparently. I may try to venture out and try more taco trucks so long as they're clean! For me that was the only questionable part here because while the food was good, the tummy was a lil uneasy the rest of the night. A second shot might be worth the confirmation but the jury is still out on that one. read more

Totally decent taco truck! Ordered 2 carnitas tacos and a burrito with adobo tofu. The carnitas were moist (thumbs up!) and full of cilantro (a love*) and onions. The flavor was not amazing, but the tacos were tasty. The burrito was stuffed with overcooked white rice with lots of fillings in a large white flour tortilla. The tofu mixture was interesting and heavily spiced(no complaints there), but the tofu texture was not consistent. The other fillings were in pockets around the burrito. The burrito cured the late night hunger, and it definitely better then grabbing a premade gourmet burrito at the grocery store. Flair Taco slides near-perfection on a plate through its little window. On that plate are two warm, slightly seared yet supple corn tortillas stacked on each other. On those tortillas rest crumbled cubes of asada, juicy and tender and lightly yet vibrantly spiced. Over the asada is a heavy swirl of green salsa: not salty, but bright and tasting of lovely earthy-fresh tomatillo. Vegetarians can go too (veggie and tofu tacos), and my tacos were worlds better than asada tacos I've had at either Tacos Guaymas or Rancho Bravo (either location). The steak wasn't remotely dry (maybe it helps to go earlier in the day as opposed to late at night). Definitely the best eight bites I've ever had for $3. read more

Just added one more Taco Truck to the ever growing list of good cheap Mexican Food so we are headed to Fred Meyers and I see a Taco Truck, right next to Piece of Mind Glass shop, I am thinking we have to stop on the way back home, and I am so glad we did we got 4 Carne Asada Tacos and 2 cans of coke for like $9 talk about a cheap lunch and it was yummy the tacos came out with salsa on them already and some radish and limes to squeeze on them, they were way juicy and oh so good, I was temped to get more but no need to be all stuffed on such a nice day 2 each was just right, would of gotten a solid five stars had they had some Mexi Cokes I know it would of cost me more but it would of been worth it, gonna make this a regular stop when I hit up Fred Meyers read more

super unfortunate taco experience...I was really excited to get some tacos and a taco salads for my family but was so saddened by what we received. Seriously, what is up with these negative reviews?! C'mon people, you don't order a HOT DOG at a TACO stand and then complain when it doesn't taste good! Stick with the tacos - they are quite good. I love the pastor (seasoned pork) myself, for only $1.50. Loaded with flavor! My veggie friend gobbled up her tofu taco (I was a little incredulous, but she raved about it all the way back to the car). If you are really hungry, go for at least two because they aren't more than a few bites each. I like the guy at the window, who doesn't take sass from obnoxious drunk folks. Ignore the protesters. The Seattle Solidarity group has been consistently making baseless claims against local businesses. And honestly, if their claims ARE true (things like unpaid wages), then this is a matter to be handled by the Department of Labor, not a local activist group, and the fact that the protestors are not contacting the DoL makes me doubt the claims even more. As far as the food is concerned, I used to live down the street and went a few times. It's decent food for being a taco truck, but don't expect it to be mind-blowing or anything. For what it's worth, the non-taco items are much better than the tacos, though they may take a little bit since they're made to order. The tacos are a pretty good deal price-wise for Seattle, and they have them all ready to go and can be ready pretty quick. For the most part, I think this place thrives on drunk food though, so go in expecting that and I think you'll be pretty happy. read more

This review is for the Flair "crazy taco" truck in Ballard. YUCK. Walked up to the truck, guy talking on phone for 5 minutes before taking my order. Nobody else around (no other customers). I ask what is good here, he seems indifferent about everything on the menu and I should have taken that as a warning to get out of there. I order 3 different tacos to see which one is best. This place gets 5 stars for the following reasons: 1/ It's just way legit, and these are the reasons why it's legit: + 1.50/taco is definitely one of the best deals in town. + The tortilla for their taco is grilled, so it's crispy on one side. After a fun filled night with friends in Freemont. I told my friends to go to Flair Taco's b/c it has great deals and the tacos are yummy. At this visit the guy who was at the window was a rude jerk. First he was playing jokes on people b/c he assumed they where drunk. like putting peoples change on top of their heads. Then messing with peopels orders. Then he decided to mess with me. He had me wait 30 min for my tacos. He told me 3 times that it was coming up. But customer after customer got there food. I stated to feel very disempowered so I decided to leave b/c $1.50 taco isn't worth the time and negative energy. Needed a snack after going to the HIgh Dive and decided on the Taco Truck - good choice! Staff was super nice and friendly. Prices are excellent - the pastor taco was just ok (usually my favorite) but the carne asada taco was the best I've ever had! Excellent flavor and perfect amount of condiments. Some great carnitas tacos! $2 each and they were super easy to eat...not drippy or greasy at all. There were two other people waiting for their food before me and I maybe waited five minutes; great turn around! I thought it was odd that they closed around 10. Confession: I have never ordered or eaten from a food truck... UNTIL TODAY. Fighting my serious hangover with a trip to the beach seemed like a good idea until lunch time. Once the huge, junk food craving pit of desperateness kicked in, I felt so awful I was willing to stealing a happy meal from a small child. Luckily it didn't come to that because we immediately settled on having tacos. This quickly moved us into a debated about where to find the cheapest, best tacos in Ballard and with the need for food NOW, I found myself unable (and unwilling) to make a serious decision about where to go...ANYWHERE would do at this point...which finally lead us to the Flair Taco truck in Fremont. I debated about ordering 2 or 3 chicken tacos but settled on 2 with a diet coke. My man order 4 tacos half pork/half beef and after sampling all of them, I definitely think the chicken was the tastiest. It took awhile for our food to be ready and when it was I found the portions rather small. Unfortunately after about 15 minutes I was hungry again and wishing for that third taco. So, I think "meh" pretty much sums it up. This place is ok, but not great. I would say my food, the experience and cost lived up to very average (or slightly below average?) experience. Tacos are $1.50, palm sized and served with double layer of soft corn tortillas, but I like the small sizes since I can try different flavors. The Asada was pretty nicely meat flavored and juicy. The Pastor was juicy and more blandly flavored, but the salsa on top as decent. The Passport meal was ok - a variety of the different carnes. It was all ok, for a pretty cheap price. This is the best taco truck in town! Tacos should be cheap and delicious and this place nails it! The pastor tacos are my favorite. The owners also make their own salsa and the red sauce is fire!! The staff are all nice and will give you extra salsa if you ask-no charge. The Wife and I took a break from the Champions League final (Man U..very disappointing) to grab a quick bite to eat at Flair Taco. As usual, I had a torta (pollo) and The Wife was delighted to see that tofu was an option so she also had a torta. First off, it is not a torta. They serve theirs on a french roll of all things. Second, it was not big enough to qualify as a meal. Third, at $5 it was much to expensive for what you got. Decent flavor but not enough meat and for $5 I would expect avocado on a sandwich this small. Perhaps some day I will try again and stick to the tacos. Yum! I go here for lunch and get two tacos al pastor and one carne asada for $4.50. They're tasty little flavor-pockets of deliciousness and not at all greasy. And the sauce is hot without being overbearing. You can still taste and appreciate the carefully prepared meat and the freshness of the tortillas. Why go anywhere else for a fast, cheap and easy lunch? I flew across the country in mid-August, to spend a brief sabbatical in Seattle prior to my elder brother's wedding-- dragged my full backpack through the oven-cleaning heat of the Vegas airport, full of 9-dollar desiccated pretzels and shouting cellophane of Nevada nut bags, who were only drowned out by the unwashed rich plunging quarters into slot machines like grain-fed zombies, who faded into a distant blur of TV static and dandruff as the majesty of flying through the Cascades at sunset opened the eye of my mind, where I was then rescued from the smog-choked airport at Midnight, by a brother, not of blood, who promised we'd sprint directly to Brouwer's beer cafe, not stopping to wash faces or piss or drop off bags, who ordered pint after pint, surrounded by burbling masses, other out-of-staters escaping from their hostel-ed wife & child for an eve, who were hit on by an Amazonian 22-year old in heels long as a cow's tongue, she of wasted persuasion and flushed flirting skill, who faded into the darkened curb and impression of a taxi when we homed in on the taco truck down the block, who was gleaming like an oracle and surrounded by unwashed (such as us), served up carnitas on paper plates, who steamed silently in the streetlight glare, dressed neatly with cilantro and radish, and consumed all thoughts, who made me ignore with a vacant mind the meathead, frost-tipped skater hitting on my girlfriend with reckless aplomb, who faded into the background while we sucked sustenance from soggy plates, scarfing down in four-bites each these tiny gems of meat, grain, spice, who lived on our fingertips and lips and breath while we rolled down the windows and glided northwards to collapse on couches and dream, travellers' dreaming, floor snoozing with body pillows, we nestled on top like limp radishes gracing a taco. read more

Cleanest taco truck I've ever seen! I had my first Mexican Hot Dog...and interesting concoction of hot dog in a taco tortilla with some grubbin' jalapenos and some other stuff. I threw some ketchup on half (it is a hot dog, after all) and some salsa on the other half (both ways were good). My wife had the taco salad with the asada. Typical crispy shell, good fresh lettuce, and the meat was awesome. Noone waiting when I arrived, started getting busy as I was leaving, hung out and chatted with the taco dudes while I ate. Decent burritos, havent tried the other menu items. The burritos are nothing to write home about but they are tasty enough and the prices are great for fremont area. Almost everything on the menu is $10, burritos, tortas, etc... Some items even less than $10. Its parked right next to a bar so on friday and saturdays its packed full of obnoxious middle aged drunkards but if you dont mind that its a great place to get a cheap burrito. read more

I ordered an asada burrito with guacamole here at around 9pm on Friday, June 22, 2018. The cook was boasting to the cashier - "I'm gonna be chef in a big restaurant!" The burrito was gross. It was literally just rice, beans, and meat. They forgot the guacamole. The rice was mushy, and the meat was greasy and tasted more like ground beef than steak. I thought it was strange, too, that they put a giant can of Rosarita refried beans on display, as if to demonstrate "We don't even make our own refried beans!" I'd been here several times before, and the food was much better. I think this cook just didn't care. read more
