I brought my car in for a smog check. Alex initially diagnosed the check engine light issue as needing a software update, which I paid for. A dealership mechanic later suspected that this software update wasn't done or wasn't done in full. Alex then diagnosed the issue as needing an ECM reflash and charged me an additional amount, but this second diagnosis also turned out to be incorrect. He kept my car for multiple days, did not keep me updated on the status of the repairs, and drove my car long distances, claiming it was to meet the legally required mileage to recheck the smog, though my meter showed he drove it farther than necessary. The check engine issue was still not fixed after these services. A dealership mechanic ultimately diagnosed and fixed the issue within one hour. Although Alex agreed to refund me, he never issued the refund so I had to file a dispute with my bank. read more

I highly recommend Fix N Smog for your car repair and purchasing needs. The owner, Alex, is an honest, no BS, hardworking fellow. While he may initially appear serious, he very knowledgeable and quite funny. More importantly, Alex is focused when addressing your automobile concerns. Alex went above and beyond when preparing a Camry for me to purchase. He was amenable to allowing another mechanic to evaluate the car. Alex said," I have nothing to hide." From the complimentary car wash to ordering necessary replacement parts, to escorting me to the local DMV kiosk to facilitate a seamless registration transfer, Alex did it all! I cannot say enough about this local auto repair and smog shop. I highly recommend you see Alex and rely upon his automotive expertise. read more

No. Just no. Male mechanic tried to upsell me - pretty sure because I'm female. He warned that if I didn't do the extra stuff that he recommended (I was there to get smogged), my truck would break down and leave me stranded. read more

I went in for a smog and Alex was very good at communicating to me, he seems like he cares a lot about a happy customer!

I had just had my Volvo 2010 repaired elsewhere and needed a smog done. Had the oxygen sensor replaced, new fuel pump installed and had a large crack in the manifold repaired and now needed the smog done. Was told I had to,wait 100 miles before I could get the smog done so that the cars computer could finish its diagnostic. Went in to fix and smog at 75 - the car showed incomplete. Went in at 103- still incomplete. Went in at 175 - still incomplete and then today at 275 and STILL incomplete!! He was very patient and super nice about it. His expertise was very much appreciated because I finally passed based on his recommendation that I drive the car on the freeway going 55-60 MPH for a length of time (which I did for 45 minutes) and came back the same day, today. Am happy and relieved to finally get this done!! I have always gotten my car smogged there and have always been happy which is why I go back and will continue to!!! read more

I've taken my cars to Fix N Smog for several years now and have always been completely satisfied. Alex, the owner, always gives us his personal attention, and provides full disclosure about the necessity of repairs as well as various options. They do far more than Smog Check services, they're a full service garage. His prices are reasonable and the work is excellent. Recently a Honda Fit was in a fender-bender that crushed part of the hood and fender. Alex performed the mechanical repair and recommended a very reasonable bodyshop, perfect for our needs. Overally I trust Alex and cant' recommend Fix N Smog highly enough. read more

Alex is rude af. Straight up. Went here for a job and was upsold 5 times the amt the part costed. Alex is moody and will ignore you to your face when you call him out on his BS like I did. Alex thinks he knows EVERYTHING too. Not sure who in life emotionally hurt this guy but he needs a hug. And Jesus. Stay far away from this place. Despite all the shady reviews I gave this place a try. Yeah never again. And all the "Alex is so professional" reviews are fake af. read more

Alex and his awesome crew always come through for me. Even when they are so busy that I can't drop my car off, I would not even think of going elsewhere. I rather wait a couple of days and come back for my oil change to get done. I am 100% certain I am cared for by an honest, professional mechanic. That is priceless! Thank you so much Alex and the crew at Fix N Smog for taking such good care of my automobile needs. read more

Disappointed with my experience. Looked around for a smog check and they were close by and offered a coupon online for $38. Took my truck in and after they were done the owner tells me the price is $58. I showed him the coupon and he said that's not valid because trucks are extra. Not sure why that is the case but was annoyed that it was $20 more than what I expected to pay especially when there was nothing on the website or coupon that said there would be an extra charge. Go somewhere else. read more

Brandon was very upfront and honest with my choices and prices. I had received a quote from a nearby shop before going to fixnsmog and I was pleasantly surprised that they gave me a better quote and saved me money without compromising on what my car needed. If we could leave no stars that would be a more accurate representation of the experience that was endured at this dump. The techs are helpful and seem to actually care about the quality of work they provide, however the managers/owners take absolutely no accountability. We had quite a bit of work done (north of $1000) only to find out the job was obviously rushed and wasn't done properly. The car was taken back today to fix a knocking noise that was heard on the rear-end and instead of offering an apology for the lack of quality work. The owner/manager did not hesitate to direct blame at the customer. We refused to pay for the repairs since they were self inflicted by the shop. But hey, thanks for offering a free oil change and filter! That's fantastic! (Sarcasm) Save your money. Take your business elsewhere. There is plenty of shops that will offer the same services as these bozos with better customer experience. Cheers. read more

SO incredibly RUDE on the phone! He hung up on me while I was trying to understand why he charged more for an oil change than the coupon states. He said it was in the fine print that SUVs cost more, which is fine but then he just hangs up!! NEVER again going here. Unprofessional & rude! read more
