I have been coming to this place for a couple of years. He has smogged all of my cars. I have referred him to friends and family and they use them . However , my recent visit(12/20/25) has changed my view on them . Their smog tech's knowledge is lacking . My car's catalytic converter was stolen last year . We purchased all parts from the dealer and had them installed by a local reputable muffler location . ( catalytic converter , oem flange , oxygen sensor , gaskets , upper and lower shields misc hardware). We added a miller cat shield to protect it.. I brought him my car for a smog. He told me everything lookred good, except the visual? I said why? He told me that the catalytic converter was the incorrect one. I told him it was the OEM part from the Manfacture. He disagreeed. I told him i had the reciept from the dealer where the parts were purchased. He told me he wasn't going to charge me but to bring it back the car with the documentation. No failed docuemntation was handed to me . I printed all records from the online dealer purchase and returend. I was greated by a different smog tech. I told him that the previous tech told me to come back to smog the car. He reviewed the car and told me the car had failed. I was confused as the first tech didn't not say anyting about failing the car. I told the new tech that i had brought it this location. He asked for the documentation. I told him the gentlemen that reviewed the car told me he was not going charge and not docuemenation was issued. I told him that if the tech failed it you smog system should have a record. He goes and looks up the car to see who pefromed the test and found it was the smog station they run. He printed out the failed report The new techc said, come back when he is here as i don't why he failed it. I asked him when the tech will be back? He stated in 2 weeks? SMH.... 2 weeks? i can't wait that long. I reverted back to the smog /repair station i went prior to finding this shop(its closer to my home). Guess what it passed the visual. Never again will i come back. It is unfortunate. 2 stars, the lack of knowledge is unacceptable. The inablity to identify an OEM Catalytic converter from the Car's manufacture is a problem. read more

Been using this smog check place for years and they usually have a coupon online if you look for it, but also appreciate their flexibility with test and retest as well as being clear about cost of all the charges. Likely not the cheapest smog place around, but convenient quick in a good location and easy hours. If you can't find a coupon online they might accommodate you in person with a small discount, especially if they see that you brought your car there before. read more

Nice guy with a tiny shop hidden behind a Shell gas station. I needed to get my wife's car smogged and I took it elsewhere and they failed us because the car's computer said it was not ready (fair enough, not the shop's fault), but they would not retest free even through they advertised it. Came here and he checked it, said it was not ready (for free) and told me to drive it a while and bring it back, When I came back, he checked it again then did the smog test. Another customer was there and they had the same issue I had at the other shop, but he told the guy to drive and and bring it back for a retest for free. That's how it should be. read more

Came to the business with a specialty vehicle with modified exhaust. It passed all smog equipment test parameters per california state law, even while missing the secondary catalytic converters. Instead of allowing this vehicle to be cleared - even tho emissions passed - the car was flagged by the employee of the business in a california database as "tampered". I now must replace my exhaust system to clear the car's lien by the state. Sure, we can make a point that CA state law requires four cats and not two. However, the car was a pass in all emissions fields. You tell me. As a note, the shop has smogged this vehicle before and yet the last time (with the same specialty mods and same person) the car was not revved multiple times or visually checked. It felt immediately discriminatory as a result, like a fast car should be checked extra over the minivan that came prior to it. Do not recommend you bring your specialty vehicles to this shop. I initially called for a quote to get my car smogged. Boy am I glad I did, I ended up saving myself $50 bucks (which isn't bad) for a smog I didn't even need. The guy who answered the phone had exceptional customer service and asked questions about my car and why I needed the smog. I am privately selling my 2017 Toyota Tacoma and the DMV was telling me I needed a smog certificate as part of the paper work. Thanks to Smog Pro I found out the new law states that any cars younger than 4 years old DO NOT NEED a smog. He knew his law so well that he even said I could come down to the shop and he will give me paper work confirming this law to provide to the DMV. I brought this information back to the DMV and what do you know... he was right and I was able to finalize the paper work for the sell. Dude that runs the smog check pissed me off. He failed me for a legal aftermarket filter that had passed at this same location two years ago. What really made me mad was the guy could have told me as soon as he popped the hood he was going to fail me before he wasted my time hooking up to the obd2 scanner and running my truck on the dyno, which forced me to have to pay. Day 1: I brought in my 1989 Toyota mr2 for smog but there was no nitrogen left, which is required for older cars. They told me they will have more nitrogen by tomorrow morning. I said no problem, I'll be back tomorrow. Day 2: Came back the following day in the afternoon to smog my car but they still didn't have any nitrogen. Day 3: I called ahead to make sure they had nitrogen. They said they did and they could smog my car now. When I got there they couldn't figure out how to calibrate their smog machine and wasn't able to smog my car for the 3rd time. Left and found a small smog shop around the corner that was actually about $20 cheaper. They were done with my car in about 20 minutes and paid $50 as opposed to $70. read more

I walked into Smog Pros for a smog check on a Wednesday afternoon around 4:30 and was delighted to find that they were not busy at all. The manager asked me to my pull around back and they immediately got to work. I sat in their garage for around 20 minutes. The price is a bit more than you might find elsewhere. I know many places advertise 29.99. I don't know how they compare to Smog Pros; I would imagine there might be quite a wait. I had a coupon for $10 off which brought my total down to 48.00 In my opinion, a sign of great businesship, is in the small things. My license plate has been hanging off the front of my bumper for the last month or so; something I keep meaning to fix, but never do, because it requires the right screw and most precious, my time. One of the mechanics noticed my plate and while the car was being smogged, set to fixing it. He smiled at me when he was done. "All fixed." I was floored, quite frankly. It was not his responsibility to fix this for me. Time is money. However, it was this bit of kindness that sold me as a customer. Wouldn't recommend this place! I didn't know that if your check engine light is on you automatically fail smog test which is what happened but that's my fault. But you would think the gentleman working there would tell you that since he's in the customer service industry but instead he proceeded to take my money and then fail my car for smog. Took it to my mechanic to fix the issues with the check engine light. Brought it back to get smog checked and he failed it because i hadn't driven it 200 miles after the repair. They may close earlier on Sundays, depending on how busy it is, so make sure you call ahead of time. We were in and out of there within 15 minutes. Not much of a wait on Sunday and it was quick and easy. Go around back of the gas station to the Smog Check center, they run the smog diagnostic for 10 minutes, once completed you walk around to the attendant in the Food Mart to pay. Great service! My car was in on a Saturday morning and I expected to wait on a weekend. The man who serviced my car apologized for the wait but it was not that long (30 minutes). Only two people were ahead of me at 8:40 a.m. It was not a bad wait time at all. After my car passed the smog check, the service man sent in the certificate to the DMV. The total cost was $58.20. People really want kind quick service and someone nice to break the bad news to them without shame on the customer. So this guy runs a dual station so he gets cars done quick. Prices are clearly marked and he has a place for you to sit and wait for your car. He recognizes you as a customer right when you pull up and shows you where to go and what to do.
