I don't usually write reviews (mainly because I'm lazy when it comes to it) but I felt I had to write one for this place. Alex and his team took really good care of me and my car and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I was taken care of. My car had several issues and instead of getting me for every penny they got me the lowest price possible and got it done really quickly as well. I highly recommend this place and I will for sure be coming back and telling all my friends to come here for any car troubles. Thanks again Alex and everyone! read more

Fix N Smog - Auto Repair Near Me - Orange, California

Alex gave a good deal beside having a coupon. Ceramic Brakes and New Rotor plus Change oil with fast Service.

The only reason I am even giving this place 1 star is because ZERO is not an option! Oh yeah, I'm not going to spend 675 bucks to fix my AC, therefore he does not have time and won't even look at the other issues happening. My door locks are broken and my alarm keeps randomly going off even while I'm driving!!! My car has been there since 8:45 this morning and I had to call and see what was happening just to be told they aren't even willing to complete the other work!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! It was recommended to me by my parents who will not be going back either! What sucks is, I'm at Disneyland and can't even pick it up to get it to somebody who's willing to do the work. THE OWNER IS RUDE AND HAS BEEN EVERY TIME IVE TAKEN IT IN!!! Thought I'd give it another chance just got hung up on! I have NEVER been treated so horrible! Just called to let him know my father in law was coming to get my car and got yelled at again!!! I seriously can't believe how bad this guy is! read more

Hey not the best looking lay out but these guys are honest and diligent. No funny business going on here. Was really happy I took my car there and I recommend them ... They also have coupons out, look for them. Thank you very much read more

Listen, do yourself and your car a favor, and just come here. I am serious, and I rarely write reviews. Absolutely trustworthy guys who are going to get your car done right. The last place I went to in Orange (that shall remain nameless - but is on W. Chapman not too far from Main Street) insisted upon all these repairs that I don't need, and overcharged me for the services I had. Won't do that again! Go To Fix N Smog when you want the job done right and for affordable rates. read more

This is it! This is the auto repair shop of your dreams. Alex and Al both helped me out. Their auto repair technician did fantastic work. I've maintained my car, with over 200,000 miles on it, well. Alex and his technicians did a fantastic job on getting parts, doing maintenance, and repair. Thank you so much, I will be back! -Melissa read more

Every time I bring my vehicles here Alex and his team offer nothing but the best in service and prices!! Alex always has a smile in his face and a great attitude! The mechanics there are exactly the same way too!! I'll never take my vehicles anywhere else!!! Thank you guys for always talking such great care of me! Ok so! I had to tell you how Awesome Alex is! His character and integrity are awesome!!!! I had moved out of California the beginning of May. And before I had left I had taken my car in to get the AC compressor replaced.... welll my first week in AZ things went very wrong with it.. I quickly got on the phone with Alex after I had taken my car to a shop here .. They told Alex what the problem was and Alex paid to have it fixed!!! I do not know of any other mechanic that would do that!!!! Alex thank you so very much!!!!!! I seriously would still be taking my car there if I still lived in the area!!! read more

Took my car in today to get my brakes done... they have been making some noise for awhile so it was much overdue.... :) First thing I noticed was a nice clean lounge area.. (I hate waiting in a messy, dirty lounge) I was greeted by the owner who couldn't have been more helpful... He explained to me the different pads I had to choose from and what the process was in plain english.. ( I can't understand car talk!) It was an easy pain free process and the price... cheaper than the other two places I called. They also have a special on smog checks and since mine is coming up I will be returning to Fix-N-Smog to get it done.. :) Great, friendly service and great competitive prices.. what more do you want? Thanks Fix-N-Smog for going the extra mile.. read more

I should have done this a few weeks ago... I apologise . Alex and Scott took such good care of my car needs!! Very affordable and the customer service is outstanding! I am so blessed to have found such awesome mechanics! Thank you guys! read more

I had a good experience at Fix N Smog. Alex is a great owner. Took my car for a smog check, found an issue with OBD sensor. This was expected as I had the same problem at another Smog Test Only site, which they provide no recommendation other than drive my car for 100 miles and come back (car was driven for 300 miles since battery was replaced). Fix N Smog found an issue with my O2 sensor and replaced it at a reasonable price. This would have cost me an arm and leg at the dealer. While I was there I noticed another customer brought there car in for a smog check. He was in and out in 10 mins. read more

These guys are total shysters I found them based on their Google ad words advertisement for 2995 and when I got there they said it was more expensive because I have an SUV or a smog check that is total BS it's not a damn car wash. Do not use these guys definitely go somewhere else they are not trustworthy. read more

Alex is Awesome! We've been going to Fix-N-Smog for about 6 years. He has the best prices (sometimes 1/2 of what PepBoy wants to charge) when we leave our cars at his shop I know they will be fixed right! I've never had to go back to him for something that wasn't fixed right the 1st time, but believe if I did he would take care of the issue without any hassle. We've had Alex do the following for us Transmission, Timing Belts (3), A/C , Smog Checks, & Catalytic Converter read more

This place is awesome! I Took a car here that I was interested in buying to have it looked at and they were very honest with me about what needed work. They've given me great rates so far and seem like a really reliable mechanic shop. Grateful I found this place. read more

Have you ever walked into an establishment with lack of pleasant disposition? it seems as though you are doing them a favor bringing in for a smog chk, don't know how it will turn out nevertheless perhaps the pricing is indicative of the lack of a smiles. And now i'm leaving with a completed smog chk thank you just feel bad for the staff. read more

Car was a 99 Corolla ‍ BAD BUSINESS!! read more

A few weeks ago my smog light came on. I went to Fix and Smog and they said it was a sensor($700) and labor($300) and that would fix it. When I picked up the car the dash smog indicator was still on. They said drive it for a few miles and it will go away. I did, and it didn't. A few days later I took it in and they re-set the indicator. I drove it for a few more days and two indicator lights came on. I took it back again, they re-set the lights again and told me I had a bad gas cap. I went to the dealer and spent $40 for a new cap. A few days go by and the smog light comes on again. This time they tell me that the dealer sold him a defective sensor and that the dealer would not warranty the part. Fix and Smog said I needed to take it to a dealer and pay them to test there own part, and then they might honer the warranty. I took it to Villa Ford and they tested it and fixed it($825). It was a wiring harness that needed to be replaced NOT the sensor. So I went to Fix and Smog to get the smog light to go out, to diagnose the problem, to fix the problem, and to stand by there work. And after weeks and weeks Fix and Smog did NOT get the light to go out, did NOT diagnose the problem correctly, did NOT fix the problem, and did NOT stand by there work. They cost me $1,040 and they NEVER fixed the problem. I recommend that you take your car to anyone(even a dealer) before you take it to these guys. You admitted ordering and installing the wrong part. You say you never failed on check engine light issues, you charged me $1,040 and the engine light was still on. You then told me, after you took my money, that you were done with it and that I should take it to a dealer. I will let the people that read this decide weather you are an honest person. read more

After reading this persons ad saying they do autos made after 1999 but for a higher fee, which I understood was common, I went there wearing my US Army cap, he looked at the hat and sent me on my way. There is no room in Orange for RACISIM. if he doesn't like the US Army them maybe he should return to the country he came here from. Stay away from this place, not friendly to the US citizen. read more

Once again... It never has failed since I met Alex. Car trouble? Alex and his team take great care of me. Best part is, I am 100% certain I will be treated with the best, most honorable intentions and then some. Does your mechanic put extra effort -even when they are overwhelmingly busy- to fix the problem and go beyond that to get more things for you FOR FREE so you have no unexpected problems? If you answered NO, Then head on to FIX-N-SMOG. Honestly THE BEST. Even those "Specials" announced around by other mechanic or specialized service chains, can't compete with his low prices- high reliability and integrity. I always leave relieved and confident. How valuable is that to you? read more

I took my wife 2013 Ford Fiesta to his shop to get it repaired. I told him the part that I needed so he goes in the back on his phone to make a call and comes back and tells me that the dealer is backed up and there's no time frame from when I can have the part delivered to me he said it could be anywhere from six months to a year. I went and called a dealer that I was working with previously and found out that that dealer has the part. I just don't like being lied to and this person lie to me in this person lied to me. So be careful when you go to him and try to order a part to repair your car because he might tell you the dealer or the manufacturer doesn't have it in that they're backed up. I also energy shop with the paperwork knowing what have to be done on my vehicle and I guess you must have not like that. read more

Bought a car and brought it in for a smog. They advertise $29.75 online plus $8.25 for a smog cert. After smogging my car I showed the technician/owner the coupon they advertise online and he said it's no good. I said why? He said "You are doing a car transfer so this advertised fee does not apply". I said what does me transferring the title on the car have to do with smogging my car? He just reiterated that because I'm doing a title transfer that it would cost more. Note: previous owner is supposed to smog car before they sell. Bottom line is these guys lie. I paid $58.00 for the smog and certificate and he charged me $2.00 for credit card processing. Complete bs. I was only overcharged $22.00 so it's not the end of the world. But, this guy is a slick bait and switch jerk. Take your car to another place. He overcharged the customer before me too whom I quickly alerted but the customer was in such a hurry he just let it go. read more

Owner Axle and Technicians Scott (caucasian male) are rude and wasted my time! The reason I am even giving this place 1 star is because ZERO is not an option ! Oh yeah, went in to do a biennial smog inspection. They tried telling me my fuel cap wasn't stock when I've never replaced it or tampered the fuel cap, it been stock since I bought it new years ago. Took it to a difference certified smog facility. Turns out the "Tampered " is irrelevant to the biennial smog inspection and original fuel cap was 100% function. I don't understand how this business keeps its door open when getting the kind of incompetence, lack of integrity and disregard for my consideration shown by staff at Fix-N-Smog. BEWARE! DON NOT USE Fix-N-Smog definitely go somewhere else they are not TRUSTWORTHY. read more

I highly recommend fix-n-smog for any of your mechanical needs. I went to fix-n-smog for an oil change, but I had many other problems with my car. It was making A LOT of noise and it constantly veered to the right when I was driving. The mechanics changed the oil and did a quick diagnostic on the car and saw that my axels were wasted, and all of my belts were BADLY in need of replacement. They replaced both the front axels, my timing belt, three other belts, and aligned my steering in a single day for $812. I shopped around and other mechanics in the area were charging $1000 just for replacing the timing belt. My car is running great. It drives straight, smooth, and there is no annoying noise coming from my belts. The mechanics Roger and Manny are really good, fast, and easy to talk to. If you come to fix-n-smog you will get better, faster, and more trustworthy service for a WAAAAYY better price than other auto repair shops. When I get rich and don't have car problems anymore I am going to bring my yacht to fix-n-smog so they can work on that too! read more

Used to go here. Won't ever again. I encountered too much of a bad and difficult attitude. They had our 2004 car for over an hour with no communication, then said it didn't pass due to a new air intake (with a filter) and another item, which was on the Jeep for the last two smogs which we passed without a question or ever realizing it might be a problem. It's not that it didn't pass that has us upset - it's the attitudes from the moment I walked in, (trying to be cheerful) left with no communication, and then when I thought you didn't pay until it passed it went down hill from there. ("We had your Jeep for an hour and have to make money, we are not charity." Well, I only asked them to smog it, not do anything else.) Not the kind of place that I could ever recommend. Left with a horrible feeling about this place. We then (immediately after getting home from this fiasco) went to the place we used to go to a few miles down Tustin Ave. In less than 30 min we had passed and were on our way home. The folks there saw the air intake and after 2 min on the internet, had the code for it and we passed no problem. He said some places will help (like he did) others you are on your own. BEWARE: You will pay full price whether you pass or not, so know that going in since it surprised us, and we had no idea it would not pass here - esp after it passed just down the street with no change but a code they input. read more

Do not bring your vehicle here!! It is a complete rip off , the owner basically doesn't care about his service, I will continue to make sure this place has bad reviews! Since yelp removed my first post, that's fine bottom line the manager owner what ever is a complete jerk, "I need to pay my rent" he told me after my smog wound that pass guess what went elsewhere, and they fixed for free!! -1 one star never again- consider yourself warned The real jerk? Well considering it affected you! Enough to reply- I am pretty sure, more people will start to post the same sentiment, then we will see who the jerk is! But anyway thanks for you non business, maybe you should post that no pass/ still pay sign where people can see it? Or is that beyond you comprehension? read more

Great service....I have been here several times and Alex does a great job..Honest work for a fair price!

These guys are great. I took my car into fix n smog because it was leaking oil and they tell me the charge was $400 for the fix. Sounds ludicrous to me. I get a second opinion from a shop down the street, $1200. They tell me to try this oil leak stopper solution from Pep Boys for $10 so I did; didn't work. Go back to fix n smog and the worker (owner?) tells me whoever told me that would work is an idiot. I leave it in there over the weekend and I need new parts, they hold onto it for OVER a week in their garage taking up space. They wait until the part comes and didn't charge me any additional labor. Great experience. read more
