Totally unprofessional and rude people I was there for smog check but they were just trying to waste time,

Alex and his team did a great job on my car as far as I can tell. I called on Thursday to see if I needed an appointment and Alex told me to just bring my car in when I was ready. I went on Saturday, dropped my car off, and within 90 minutes he told me my engine needed new parts that he needed to special order. I let them keep my car over the weekend and early Monday morning Alex called to say my car was ready. Very satisfied with how fast they did everything and the prices are good. Recommend giving yourself a window of time when dropping off/picking up because they do get busy! read more

I took my car here for smog check my daughter came with me she said hi to OWNER who did not even acknowledge her saying hi. he had a really bad attitude like we were asking for something free. My car was repaired by a person who works for a local dealer but don't pass smog because I did not drive it enough after repairs to have computer relearn anyway he told me my car needed more repairs to get it to pass and that if he dint do repairs he was not going to re-test my car turn out my car pass somewhere else and needed no repairs. Too bad this app does not have an option for negative stars this guy should not have a business with he's awful attitude. read more

This place is hilarious for creating a new Yelp account with a different name to mask how poorly their ratings used to be. Their old account was under Fix-N-Go, which apparently is "now closed". Yelp should really do an investigation about the legitimacy of this place and all of the reviews, or bring back the old reviews that were deleted with the old account. On the low likelihood that I am mistaken and they changed ownership, its still odd that they kept the same company photos on the account. Here is my original review: Don't go here. WORST. Took my car in to get a smog check and paid several hundred dollars and it took a little more than two weeks before I get get my car back. They tell you they will call you back but, NEVER DO. Ali actually had the nerve to yell at me too for giving him trouble? Right, youre the one who wanted to work on my car! I would never recommend this place to people. They take way to long to work on your car and never call you to pick it up, they told me my car would be safely parked indoors, i drove by a couple times and my car was always parked outside. read more

Came here for a smog check, and I was in and out within 30-40 minutes or so. The guy who assisted me wasn't very pleasant (perhaps he was bored or tired or both), but he got the job done quick and easy...so that's all that matters. I asked him how long the wait was for a smog check (as in, "is there currently a wait?"), and he said 30 minutes. I then asked how long a smog check usually takes, to which he also replies 30 minutes. So I thought it was going to be an hour LOL...but he took my car in right away, so that's when I realized that our convo was probably a miscommunication. Pretty funny occurrence in my opinion, but maybe I am just easily amused. When he came back, he didn't even tell me if my car passed or failed...just told me the price and charged me, so I assumed it passed (thankfully it did based on the paperwork I was handed afterwards). All in all, fast service...but the customer service aspect could use some work. read more

Do NOT bring your car to this place for the STAR Smog Certification. I took my car there because they offered a coupon. NEVER AGAIN! The guy was rude and when I got my perfectly running car (when I brought it in) back it now had the Check Engine light on and it was idling really high. I called him over and brought it to his attention immediately but all he said was it was that way when he started the test, NOT TRUE. He wouldn't even look under the hood. I I now have to have my car towed to my trustworthy mechanic also located in Orange. I tried to call Fix and Smog to talk to the guy again but as soon as I told him I was going to write a review on YELP if he doesn't make this right HE HUNG UP ON ME. I came in after my smog failed from shop #1 and a repair estimate of 1250 from shop #2. Alex's estimated the repair for $750 for the same exact repairs AND included a free smog after the repairs, which passed beautifully. Since I needed my brakes changed, I called asking about the $99.99 as advertised on the coupon. The guy on the phone goes, of course not. You're talking about a Mercedes. You bring it in and we check yes and no then I'll give you price. I told him OK, can I get a quote on a Lexus IS then? He said something but I couldn't hear so I told him, sorry your background noise is too noisy. Can you repeat that? This guy straight up hung up. Bad bad customer service. Late post but it's here. Brought my suburban here for a check engine light referring to a emission code.Shop replaced multiple parts with a whopping bill of 550$. When I picked up the truck the mechanic told me my water pump was leaking. I had replaced 2 months prior I explained it to him. He told me it's not ACDelco brand it's a off brand. He tried to sell me another job for 500$ plus. Anyway I refused had it double check somewhere else. They found a leaking hose cost 130$. So my light came back a couple weeks later took it back. Mechanic said it was a different code but it was still a emission code. The owner had a shitty attitude the mechanic had no explanation for me telling me try this & that. I got a coupon flyer from here so I decided to take them up on their brake-pad and oil-change specials. Parking is a little tight but I got in and was greeted by Alex who was very knowledgeable and explained to me that I would need Ceramic Pads because of my type of vehicle but would still give me a discounted rate. Because I didn't have the time to wait for the repairs, he kindly offered a shop loaner vehicle while my repairs were being done. I was shocked! I've never been offered a loaner for a couple hours of work. The price for all the work (front & rear pads, and 4 rotors, and oil change) was $300 cheaper than what I was quoted at Midas with coupons and I didn't have to make an appointment! FINALLY A MECHANIC I CAN TRUST!!! Fix-N-Smog is now my go-to mechanic for ... anything really! They do it all. It started with a falling out with the mechanic I used to go to because he was the "family mechanic". This guy abused his position as a trusted source, overcharged for something that ended up failing a month later, and used DUCT TAPE to "repair" hoses in my engine. Finally fed up with being ripped off and with my car only getting worse, I took it to Fix-N-Smog as a last ditch effort to make my car run like it is supposed to (I basically got a lemon, by the way, from McKenna VW in Huntington Beach - be warned) . The guys at Fix-N-Smog restored my faith in mechanics! They took one look under the hood and validated what I had known all along: I has been duped - duct tape should not ever be used to affix hoses. They made me feel like I'm not crazy. They did what needed to be done quickly, for an affordable price and with professionalism. They are also really nice. The guys(Alex and his staff) let you know what's going on in a way even someone clueless about cars can understand without being condescending. *I also come here for affordable, reliable and quick oil changes! I highly recommend this place. A tip: It's kind of easy to pass if you are going down Tustin Avenue so I recommend you turn onto Palm Avenue and go around the back. read more

The only reason I am even giving this place 1 star is because ZERO is not an option! Oh yeah, I'm not going to spend 675 bucks to fix my AC, therefore he does not have time and won't even look at the other issues happening. My door locks are broken and my alarm keeps randomly going off even while I'm driving!!! My car has been there since 8:45 this morning and I had to call and see what was happening just to be told they aren't even willing to complete the other work!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! It was recommended to me by my parents who will not be going back either! What sucks is, I'm at Disneyland and can't even pick it up to get it to somebody who's willing to do the work. Alex at Fix-N-Smog was great! I came in with my check engine light on and my work truck running very rough. Alex's technician diagnosed the problem as bad spark plug wires and coil pack, because of this they also looked at my spark plugs and suggested I change those as well. I had recently changed my plug wires myself, so I was a little apprehensive to believe this. Sure enough, a couple of the wires were touching the header and had burnt through the insulation and destroyed them, also causing the damage to the coil pack. One star is too many. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I was ripped off by this "mechanic". These guys claimed to have installed a new transmission in my car. Which after taking it to another mechanic was not true. After that I still had issues, these guys tried to tell me I had major engine problems and quoted me over a thousand dollars to fix it. When I took it to a reputable mechanic and had a diagnosis done I found out I had a sensor that had failed and it cost me less than $200 dollars to replace. Look at the yelp reviews for fix n go. It is the exact same business with the exact same employees and owner it has 1.5 stars and 29 filtered (fake) reviews. I had a good experience at Fix N Smog. Alex is a great owner. Took my car for a smog check, found an issue with OBD sensor. This was expected as I had the same problem at another Smog Test Only site, which they provide no recommendation other than drive my car for 100 miles and come back (car was driven for 300 miles since battery was replaced). Fix N Smog found an issue with my O2 sensor and replaced it at a reasonable price. This would have cost me an arm and leg at the dealer. While I was there I noticed another customer brought there car in for a smog check. He was in and out in 10 mins. read more
