I honestly love this place so much! My family has been coming here for years and we always know we're going to get amazing service and a great deal. This last time I worked with ALI to fix my motor mounts. Service was done so quickly! When I went to drive away, car was acting funny so ALI got right on top of seeing what was wrong. Early the next morning was told it was my spark plugs and they were already working on it. I had my 2 girls with me and ALI was so friendly and sweet with them and made waiting for my car fun for them. As a woman, it's important to find a mechanic you can trust and this shop is absolutely that place for me. I know my car (and therefore my family's safety) is in wonderful, caring hands when working with ALI and ALEX. LOVE THIS PLACE! read more

My family and I have been taking our cars to Fix N Smog for many, many years. Alex has provided the best service and prices we have ever received. We have 3 cars, and a lot of family and friends that have also made Fix n Smog their own autobody repair shop. Alex was referred to us by another shop that couldn't do the very involved work our car needed. We had a great relationship with that shop, and he told us we could completely trust Alex. He was right, and since then we have had EVERYTHING done here. I would never refer my family and friends to a mechanic that I wasn't 100% sure of. I have only received wonderful comments from everyone we have sent there. Alex has gone way beyond the call of duty, and we are forever grateful:) read more

Amazing place to fix your car , Alex is your man ! He is really professional and gets the job done ! I totally recommend this place for your car needs! Very knowledgeable and reliable! read more

The place was fast and quick, before I went there I called a few places prior. Pep boys estimated an hour and half for just a smog check. I called in to Fix N Smog and I spoke with Alex, he said 30 minutes for the wait time so I printed out the coupon and drove over. The taller gentlemen, Alex, was polite but very dry in his speech so dont let that fool you he was very nice. I filled out the paperwork and waited in the lobby. Took roughly 30 minutes and I was behind atleast 1 person, before I realized everything was done and I was headed home. I know someone recently complained about a price difference in smog check. The cause was probably older then 2000 model or something extraneous, as my 2006 passed and I paid the coupon cost and labor. It was a pleasant experience, and I would recommend this location for anyone in the area to go to. read more

This place is really helpful and friendly. Got two repair/replacement jobs done there and they gave me great deals. These guys know their stuff. Thanks for the help guys! read more

John, the smog tech was helpful, friendly, and provided, quick and efficient service! Thank you!

Nick thanks for catching that problem with the valve cover. I was losing just a little bit of oil but forgot to mention it and you caught it with your mirrors on the back side of the engine during the oil change in general inspection. Also thanks for the tip I'm keeping the fuel injectors clean. Alex thank you for the great price and for having such a good team. I started going to Fix n Smog several years ago and found them to be very honest and able to get the work reliably done within a reasonable period of time. Saved my mom several thousand dollars. And you can't find a better place to get your car smogged. Ask for Al. They also do tires. Found them to be one of the best prices in Orange county. read more

I've been taking my wife's and my car to Alex for several years and have always been treated with respect and honesty. His work is always within the estimated cost at the time I bring in my car and done in a timely manner. Oil changes, brakes, exhaust, radiator, water pump, exhaust manifold, tune ups, etc.,....he's gotten it done. read more

I have been going to Alex for about 10 years now. His prices are reasonable and he always provides great service. Most of the time he is able to take my car in the same day for service. Thank you Alex! read more

Alex and his team did a great job on my car as far as I can tell. I called on Thursday to see if I needed an appointment and Alex told me to just bring my car in when I was ready. I went on Saturday, dropped my car off, and within 90 minutes he told me my engine needed new parts that he needed to special order. I let them keep my car over the weekend and early Monday morning Alex called to say my car was ready. Very satisfied with how fast they did everything and the prices are good. Recommend giving yourself a window of time when dropping off/picking up because they do get busy! read more

Best and cheapest smog check in OC! Really quick service! Guy at the front desk was really nice and so was the guy that performed my smog check! You won't find a cheaper spot than this for smog checks! I recommend to everyone ! read more

I took my car here for smog check my daughter came with me she said hi to OWNER who did not even acknowledge her saying hi. he had a really bad attitude like we were asking for something free. My car was repaired by a person who works for a local dealer but don't pass smog because I did not drive it enough after repairs to have computer relearn anyway he told me my car needed more repairs to get it to pass and that if he dint do repairs he was not going to re-test my car turn out my car pass somewhere else and needed no repairs. Too bad this app does not have an option for negative stars this guy should not have a business with he's awful attitude. read more

Last July my suv was a mess & needed a ton of work, Alex & his guys did an amazing job so it's been running great. Thank you!!

Do not waste your time at this place they are simply only interested in their profit and not the quality of work that they provide to their customers. I really wish I would have read more reviews on this place. Don't make the same mistake that I did. Save your money. There is literally 100's of shops with way better reviews that will do much higher quality work then Fix N Smog. read more

Got my smog test done and thanks to Fix N Smog they fixed the vacuum leak that was causing it not to pass. Thank you for the great service Alex. read more

Totally unprofessional and rude people I was there for smog check but they were just trying to waste time,

This place is hilarious for creating a new Yelp account with a different name to mask how poorly their ratings used to be. Their old account was under Fix-N-Go, which apparently is "now closed". Yelp should really do an investigation about the legitimacy of this place and all of the reviews, or bring back the old reviews that were deleted with the old account. On the low likelihood that I am mistaken and they changed ownership, its still odd that they kept the same company photos on the account. Here is my original review: Don't go here. WORST. Took my car in to get a smog check and paid several hundred dollars and it took a little more than two weeks before I get get my car back. They tell you they will call you back but, NEVER DO. Ali actually had the nerve to yell at me too for giving him trouble? Right, youre the one who wanted to work on my car! I would never recommend this place to people. They take way to long to work on your car and never call you to pick it up, they told me my car would be safely parked indoors, i drove by a couple times and my car was always parked outside. read more

Came here for a smog check, and I was in and out within 30-40 minutes or so. The guy who assisted me wasn't very pleasant (perhaps he was bored or tired or both), but he got the job done quick and easy...so that's all that matters. I asked him how long the wait was for a smog check (as in, "is there currently a wait?"), and he said 30 minutes. I then asked how long a smog check usually takes, to which he also replies 30 minutes. So I thought it was going to be an hour LOL...but he took my car in right away, so that's when I realized that our convo was probably a miscommunication. Pretty funny occurrence in my opinion, but maybe I am just easily amused. When he came back, he didn't even tell me if my car passed or failed...just told me the price and charged me, so I assumed it passed (thankfully it did based on the paperwork I was handed afterwards). All in all, fast service...but the customer service aspect could use some work. read more

Great experience with John and Alex. Price is reasonable and service was done right the first time.

Do NOT bring your car to this place for the STAR Smog Certification. I took my car there because they offered a coupon. NEVER AGAIN! The guy was rude and when I got my perfectly running car (when I brought it in) back it now had the Check Engine light on and it was idling really high. I called him over and brought it to his attention immediately but all he said was it was that way when he started the test, NOT TRUE. He wouldn't even look under the hood. I I now have to have my car towed to my trustworthy mechanic also located in Orange. I tried to call Fix and Smog to talk to the guy again but as soon as I told him I was going to write a review on YELP if he doesn't make this right HE HUNG UP ON ME. PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A FEMALE. THE COUPON ISN'T WORTH IT! read more

I came in after my smog failed from shop #1 and a repair estimate of 1250 from shop #2. Alex's estimated the repair for $750 for the same exact repairs AND included a free smog after the repairs, which passed beautifully. My 2003 blue Dodge Ram runs excellent, the check engine light is off and the gas gauge works. Thank you, Alex! I will see you soon with my Blazer. You have gained a new loyal customer and I will be my friends and family, as well as the Veteran Center to your shop. read more

We have been here several times now and have always been happy. This particular trip was just smog. John was nice, helpful and had me in and out in about 10 minutes. I will definitely be back. read more

If I could, I would definitely give this place 0 stars. First off, I received coupons in the mail for this place. Since I needed my brakes changed, I called asking about the $99.99 as advertised on the coupon. The guy on the phone goes, of course not. You're talking about a Mercedes. You bring it in and we check yes and no then I'll give you price. I told him OK, can I get a quote on a Lexus IS then? He said something but I couldn't hear so I told him, sorry your background noise is too noisy. Can you repeat that? This guy straight up hung up. Bad bad customer service. Imagine them being this rude already, can you trust them with your car? I think not. read more

I have been changing my oil in fix n smog for the last 2 years, they don't only change the oil but they do a whole check on the car and advise if any concern needs my attention. Alex went above and beyond to help with a repair that needs to be done and went an extra mile to offer me and my family a rental so we can resume our busy schedules. Even when the parts came more expensive than his quote he still honored his words and kept the bill the same. I want to thank fix n smog and Alex personally for their great service and recommend them to take care of your vehicle needs read more

Great local one stop shop to get your Smog Check. No appointment necessary, convenient hours, waiting room to chill while you wait for your car. John was the mechanic who took care of me and did a great job. Lived in Orange my whole life found my new Smog Shop. read more

Late post but it's here. Brought my suburban here for a check engine light referring to a emission code.Shop replaced multiple parts with a whopping bill of 550$. When I picked up the truck the mechanic told me my water pump was leaking. I had replaced 2 months prior I explained it to him. He told me it's not ACDelco brand it's a off brand. He tried to sell me another job for 500$ plus. Anyway I refused had it double check somewhere else. They found a leaking hose cost 130$. So my light came back a couple weeks later took it back. Mechanic said it was a different code but it was still a emission code. The owner had a shitty attitude the mechanic had no explanation for me telling me try this & that. Now I'm looking for a shop to fix this emission light read more

FINALLY A MECHANIC I CAN TRUST!!! Fix-N-Smog is now my go-to mechanic for ... anything really! They do it all. It started with a falling out with the mechanic I used to go to because he was the "family mechanic". This guy abused his position as a trusted source, overcharged for something that ended up failing a month later, and used DUCT TAPE to "repair" hoses in my engine. Finally fed up with being ripped off and with my car only getting worse, I took it to Fix-N-Smog as a last ditch effort to make my car run like it is supposed to (I basically got a lemon, by the way, from McKenna VW in Huntington Beach - be warned) . The guys at Fix-N-Smog restored my faith in mechanics! They took one look under the hood and validated what I had known all along: I has been duped - duct tape should not ever be used to affix hoses. They made me feel like I'm not crazy. They did what needed to be done quickly, for an affordable price and with professionalism. They are also really nice. The guys(Alex and his staff) let you know what's going on in a way even someone clueless about cars can understand without being condescending. *I also come here for affordable, reliable and quick oil changes! I highly recommend this place. A tip: It's kind of easy to pass if you are going down Tustin Avenue so I recommend you turn onto Palm Avenue and go around the back. read more

Alex at Fix-N-Smog was great! I came in with my check engine light on and my work truck running very rough. Alex's technician diagnosed the problem as bad spark plug wires and coil pack, because of this they also looked at my spark plugs and suggested I change those as well. I had recently changed my plug wires myself, so I was a little apprehensive to believe this. Sure enough, a couple of the wires were touching the header and had burnt through the insulation and destroyed them, also causing the damage to the coil pack. The guys at Fix-N-Smog did a great job with my work truck(which is my livelihood) for a very reasonable price. read more

One star is too many. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I was ripped off by this "mechanic". These guys claimed to have installed a new transmission in my car. Which after taking it to another mechanic was not true. After that I still had issues, these guys tried to tell me I had major engine problems and quoted me over a thousand dollars to fix it. When I took it to a reputable mechanic and had a diagnosis done I found out I had a sensor that had failed and it cost me less than $200 dollars to replace. Look at the yelp reviews for fix n go. It is the exact same business with the exact same employees and owner it has 1.5 stars and 29 filtered (fake) reviews. This place needs to be reported to consumer affairs and bureau of auto repair read more

Honest, upfront, and delivered service in a timely manner. Alex was great and definitely the go to for your smog needs

I got a coupon flyer from here so I decided to take them up on their brake-pad and oil-change specials. Parking is a little tight but I got in and was greeted by Alex who was very knowledgeable and explained to me that I would need Ceramic Pads because of my type of vehicle but would still give me a discounted rate. Because I didn't have the time to wait for the repairs, he kindly offered a shop loaner vehicle while my repairs were being done. I was shocked! I've never been offered a loaner for a couple hours of work. The price for all the work (front & rear pads, and 4 rotors, and oil change) was $300 cheaper than what I was quoted at Midas with coupons and I didn't have to make an appointment! I just picked up my car and was compelled to write a review. Thanks Alex! read more
