Honey Lavender Latte 16oz. ~ $7.47
Jean S.

FIX Coffeebar is a coffee shop in Montrose in Houston. There are very limited parking spaces in the plaza, most of the parking spots are reserved for the other businesses in the plaza. I found this place on yelp and decided to try it out because of the picturesque latte photos on yelp. I ordered the honey lavender latte, expecting it to look like some of the photos I've seen - in a mug, with latte art, and with a hint of purple color. The worker at FIX said he doesn't do latte art, there's no purple food coloring, and the larger size latte doesn't come in a mug, only a to-go cup. I still ordered the drink and it was okay. I enjoyed the honey lavender latte, but probably wouldn't have specially driven out here for it cuz it looked and tasted ordinary and not special. The ambiance in the coffee shop was cool and I liked how they sold local art work.

Reasonably priced indie coffee shop in Montrose on the bus path no less? Absolutely worth it. Great drink selection, comfortable environment, friendly service. And a $3 mystery box of pastries is easily one of the city's great bargains.

The smoked rosemary cortado had the perfect balance because the smokiness takes away the bitterness. The iced shaken cinnamon swirl was perfect cuz it wasn't too sweet. I think what makes their coffee good is their beans

Great vibes and staff!!! You will leave here feeling good and taken care of!! The coffee is definitely made with love here and you feel it when you walk in the door! I suggest you take a look at their menu but they are also willing to make whatever you like! This is a great place for you to work and/or have a convo with someone. I can see myself hanging here more often. It's not very big inside but there are tables and chair options for small and mid size groups. I will be back for sure. Oh watch out for parking! There are not many options!! So try the parking lot where marked spaces are allocated but consider street parking as well and taking a short walk over to the place. Happy Yelping!

Some of the best coffee I have had in Houston. They take a lot of pride in making it. Two drinks with oat milk and tip for $12 total. Other cities that might be closer to $20. My mocha was delicious. We have a high end coffee maker at home so we make most of our drinks. Every once in a while we will treat ourselves to coffee shop coffee and FIX was worth it. The shop itself is also very relaxed and quiet. Could definitely come and read for a while. They didn't seem to have much parking because they share it with other businesses. But that's expected in downtown Houston at popular spots.

No vibe of any kind here just a standard coffee place. I do appreciate their unique flavor lattes and other quirks. There isn't very comfortable seating and it felt like the AC was off when I was in here. I ended up going simple and trying for an iced mocha latte. Which ended up being an iced latte with a chocolate syrup swirl in the cup. Now I really could've forgiven this if the latte was at least good but it wasn't. I dunno I feel like a latte is bare minimum. Regardless wish them the best and it could've just been an off day. I think if there were decent parking options I would come back and try it again. But there weren't.

I have only good things to say here! It is such a vibe! Love the decorations. Great place to work or study (which is what I did!) was nice and quiet. If you need the Wi-Fi, make sure you get your receipt! The password is on there and lasts a few hours. I ordered the lavender latte and ohhhh boy it tasted as good as it looked. And it sure looked pretty! Can't wait to become a regular here! Fantastic coffee and so many wonderful option to try

I love the casual atmosphere at FIX coffee bar. It's very woodsy and dark, but still super bright. The coffee was really great, honestly a bit mind blowing. I really enjoyed their Nitro. It was creamy, refreshing and silky.

Absolutely in love with this place! Today was my first time and I felt very welcomed by the team. When I looked around it seemed like a very popular place and I can definitely see why! Check out person was sweet, kind, open for a small talk, when I asking for advice and recommendations he was willing to help! He helped me to choose delicious coffee. When I made a small sip I could taste a high quality coffee beans. Honey Lavender taste made slightly bitter taste of coffee smooth. It is probably one of the best coffee I've ever had. I believe that this place has a high standard due to a fact that it's small family owned business. If you considering to try this place out please do not waste your time on thinking just go and check for yourself. You will not regret 100%! Worth every penny! P.S. person that checked me out was the owner and he was very sweet, respectful and kind. (Saying it because I saw some 1 star reviews stating that the owner was mean to them).

Blueberry basil latte - 10/10 - $6.25 - This flavor was out of my comfort zone for coffee drinks but I was surprised at how much I absolutely loved it! The sweetness was just right and I didnt even have to ask for more syrup. Ive tried their basic lattes before which were mid but I would go back here for their specialty drinks specifically!

Get the honey lavender latte. Just do it. It may be the most expensive one you order in the area, but it is delicious. They DO have wifi available after you purchase something. You just need to ask the friendly barista behind the counter for the code which will last you 3 hours. Honestly, you'll want to order food or more coffee if you're hanging out for longer than that. Jams are good, vibes are good. It's a small spot, so great for a small meet up. There have been several 1:1 meetups while I've been here. Parking is limited, but that's Houston for ya. You can drive on Whitney for street parking.

Place feels very cold and stale inside, so not a fan of the ambiance. Drinks and service were fine, but nothing to rave about.

Allow me to be Review No. 1,100 following my visit to this wonderful culinary gem yesterday…read more By default, Spring Branch is Houston's Koreatown, but it's not unusual to find establishments with Spanish-language branding on them throughout the neighborhood. And Tacos Doña Lena, on which I'll heap tons of praise on, is among them. A group of friends and I had supper here before a live show down the street at Eighteen Ten Ojeman. Upon seeing the storefront when we pulled into the parking lot, my first thought was, "Okay, this is legit Mexican, not Tex-Mex." The interior is quite small with some tables and an ample late Saturday afternoon crowd. What caught my eye is how the environment is what you might expect to find at a family-run taqueria off the beaten path. Rock en Español blaring from the sound system. Colorful papel picado draped from the ceiling. A framed Mexican flag and several references to the central Mexican municipality of Guanajuato. The intoxicating smell of spice-laced grilled beef wafting through the air. Simply put, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. I glanced at the menu. There are numerous, delicious-sounding items that happen to be wallet-friendly, a bit cheaper than if you were to go to Gringos or Jimmy Changas. According to a mutual, the tacos here are the main draw, but what really caught my attention and appetite was the ramen birria. Mujeres y caballeros (ladies and gentlemen), let me proclaim that Tacos Doña Lena turns a noodle dish with origins in Japan and is a known staple in college dorm rooms into a must-try on this part of America's fourth-largest city. Two amazing food cultures unite for a fiery meeting of the minds. Anchored by a rich, tasty consomé that's spicy but not enough to where you need to drink multiple glasses of water, there's a prime mix of ramen noodle, beef birria, cheese, fried egg, rabanos, garbazo, and corn accompanied by cilantro, onions, and a pair of fried tostadas. I was so impressed with how the contents of the ramen blended together. Since it was ramen after all despite the south of the border touchup, I still ate it the traditional way: pick up the noodles and sip the soup. There was so much that I had no choice but to put it in a takeout container. Sure, Spring Branch may be home to some great traditional Korean restaurants, but don't sleep on Tacos Doña Lena.

Although I opted for enchiladas rojas. Intense garlic. Rice is too salty for my personal preference. Beans good. Enchiladas also more salty than my preference. But still enjoyable. TDL is a Houston treasure. Highly recommended. Two locations now. Festive. Great ambiance. Good food. Nice people.

Food comes out immediately but there is no seating so be ready to eat outside/in your car. Definitely recommend the plato especial for best value. This plate is definitely enough for 2-3 to share. Pricing is fair for the quality you get, so no complaints there. Just keep in mind it's cash only, no cards or online payments. The lines are almost always long no matter the time of day, but they move quickly, so the wait isn't bad. I usually grab a pink lemonade as well, which hits every time. Out of all the locations, El Taconazo is definitely the one to go to, hands down some of the best tacos you'll find on Fulton St.

I don't like cinnamon but the horchata was addicting and it paired so well with the food. My friend got their Melon Agua Fresca and he said it was really refreshing as well. The gorditas were stuffed and they were so delicious, the cheese was melting and the bread was warm and not dry. The Quesadillas were my favorite. You put both the red sauce and the green sauce on it, a lot of lime juice, and it's perfect. I forgot to order cilantro on mine but they do give you it at no extra cost. The prices are so cheap and you get so much food. Everything is around $3 and it will fill you up. Each of us totaled out to be about $10-15 per person and we were stuffed. I would definitely come back here over and over again! My friend said the only bad thing about this place is when you order to go, they won't give you a lot (no lime, no hot sauces, less meat, etc.) so definitely get dine-in.

There's a parking lot, but we went on the weekend, and while the interior didn't look overly full, it was somewhat difficult to find a parking spot. The restaurant itself is clean. Everything is pretty much green and white. There's covered patio seating. You order from a window and there's a large menu printed nearby The menu offers all sorts of tacos, meats, burritos, bowls, quesadillas, quesabirras, sides, and even kids meals. You can get beer, margaritas, and non-alcoholic drinks. There's also a breakfast menu The food was good, and it didn't take too long to come out. My main issue was the service. The individual taking orders seemed to have a bit of an attitude and just seemed "over it." Furthermore, we mentioned having a queso coupon and when we were given the total I placed my card on the reader and I was told that I did it too fast and the queso wasn't taken off. The odd thing was, we walked away and realized that they didn't add the queso and the coupon was for free queso so they could have just rung up an additional queso. This individual had the vibe of eye rolling everything, and it honestly left a bad taste in my mouth Some tips: You can order online to avoid any wait. Just go up to the pick-up window when it's supposed to be ready for a painless interaction There's a little bar area where you can get pre-packaged (to-go) salsas, pickled onions, limes, etc etc etc. the salsas are tomatillo, habanero, and jalapeño (I believe) You can order margaritas to go, which we did! Cheers!!
