A hidden gem serving a rotating selection of high quality coffees that are consistently and methodically brewed. Quite spacious indoor seating and convenient location on Montrose. The barista is extremely friendly and explained the current coffee offerings clearly, and they have many. He gave me a few recommendations and they were indeed delicious. I got a plain double shot of single origin espresso from a Houston roaster, my wife and sister-in-law got iced honey lavender lattes, and my brother got a mocha. My espresso was incredibly sweet, had a nice velvety texture, and tasted of watermelon, cinnamon, and milk chocolate. Definitely one of the best shots I've had at a Houston coffee shop so far. They serve the double shot with a side glass of chilled mineral water, which is perfect for cleansing the palate and tasting again. The iced honey lavender latte was a perfect balance of sweet (but not too sweet!) and flavorful honey-lavender with their very deep and chocolately house espresso blend from Java Pura. Phenomenal!! The mocha was too sweet and tasted mostly of syrup - I think half that syrup amount would have been better. I went back another time and tried the hibiscus lemonade latte - also fantastic, preferable if you are going for something a little sweeter and refreshing. Overall not my favorite coffee shop in this part of Houston. Just a little small for someone who likes to spend 4-ish hours at shops studying. The staff are super friendly and there's plenty of parking. Outlets seem a tiny bit limited. Would be a good place to meet a friend or just hang out with a few people. They're also dog friendly. Overall, would recommend this place for a short stop or a hang out, but not the best place to study at for long periods of time solely because the shop isn't built for many people. read more

I am a regular buyer of coffee beans and syrups here. I've introduced friends to this place and have even given my best friend a full set of beans and syrups as a wedding gift. I'm addicted to their house FIX beans and honey lavender. Parking is limited but I never have issues. Only con is the lack of consistency in service. Sometimes you buy a big order and they offer you a free drip. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes I have brought back a glass bottle and I have gotten a discount and other times they don't give it to me. Not to mention, they offer great coffee at an affordable price. My craving for quality coffee and a nice shop to sit down at was satisfied. I also ordered a ham and provolone danish, which hit the spot for me. Unfortunately, they do not currently have wifi available. I was prepared to do work on my laptop, but I realized how nice it was to just unplug and be offline to enjoy my surroundings for once. I am usually not one to leave a negative review, but the way the owner of this coffeeshop treated me and my friends was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. In order to use the wifi, you have to put a unique code that is listed on the receipt after your purchase. Two out of three of us ordered 2 coffees and a croissant. Within less than 5 minutes of my friend being there, a staff member (potentially the owner?) rudely yelled across the store (in front of other customers) "YOU HAVE TO ORDER SOMETHING TO USE THE WIFI." My friend said she was planning on getting something in a couple of minutes, and the owner continued to raise his voice at her telling her she needed to order something. He definitely did not need to raise his voice or scream across the room. At the very least, he could have come up to her individually if he really felt the need to bring that up in the first place. I genuinely liked this coffee shop up until that moment especially because the other staff were extremely kind, but I don't think I'll ever go back because the owner made us feel belittled and unwelcome. read more

Pros: quiet, nice employees, lots of seating Cons: sad cinnamon roll, parking, outlets only on wall The menu options are pretty small, but they do have a rotating menu of seasonal drinks to try. I opted for a pastry and tried the cinnamon roll which was a letdown. It was really dry and lacked that fluffiness you'd expect from a good roll. It also didn't have much cinnamon flavor. :( Plenty of spaces to sit, but only the tables against the wall had outlets. It'd be better to charge your devices before you came. It was quieter than other coffee shops which I appreciated for studying. The parking lot is tiny though, so you might have to park nearby and walk. The employees were nice, but they decided to close early because there weren't many customers there at the end of the day. read more

All I wanted was a hot coffee to start my Thanksgiving day. We came here yesterday and were verbally attacked by the owner. I ordered a coffee with the cashier and paid. I was in such shock that I couldn't event process that he was yelling at us. Thanksgiving is about giving thanks. We did not feel appreciated as customers. After about a year coming to Fix regularly, it still remains one of my go-to coffeeshops in Montrose. There's just overall great service and ambiance for studying. In terms of studying ambiance, Fix is just the perfect amount of quiet, with music and conversations not being too loud. The only thing is that I've gotten to know some of this place's cons a bit better. The coffee you get can be hit or miss. When I first came, the coffee seemed to always taste great, whether it was cold brew or a seasonal latte. On recent visits, the coffee was either overly sweet (like in the caramel latte) or slightly bitter (like in the nitro). These drinks I got I couldn't finish. I had ordered these drinks before, and they tasted better then... Maybe in the future, I should just stick with regular lattes or black coffees. Another con I've noticed is that parking is super difficult to get in the lot and nearby neighborhood street parking as well. Now, this is a pretty general issue across several coffeeshops in Montrose but still something to note. Other than those 2 cons, I still enjoy going to Fix and being able to do work and study here. I dropped in here after work on a random weeknight to try out their cold brew. I'm new to how cold brew coffee should really taste. Although, I've read that it's supposed to have a smoother and stronger taste than regular hot brewed coffee. I added milk to my drink because I just can't drink straight black coffee. The flavor wasn't bad. It just didn't taste significantly different from an iced coffee. It's strange because I'm going to compare Fix's cold brew to Starbucks' version. Gasp. I know. I actually prefer Starbucks over Fix for this type of coffee. Sigh. Maybe I'm just not a cold brew type of gal. Lol. I'd still like to come back to Fix to try out their seasonal lattes and other drinks. The honey lavender and birthday cake lattes look amazing in pictures. Fix was still a nice spot to read while '80s rock music was playing quietly in the background. I enjoyed leisurely reading my book here. But, I'd anticipate parking can become difficult here. I think there's only 2 dedicated spots for Fix customers, and then it's just street parking for the rest if you're unlucky. I came during non-peak time. So, this wasn't an issue. MY fiance really enjoyed her lavender latte but my birthday cake latte left me a little disappointed. The latte was smooth and the milk was perfectly steamed but the coffee itself had no flavor. Was one of my favorite coffee places until today. Went there to grab a coffee and study with my pup in the outside area they have. Typically most places (even Starbucks) will let you bring your pup in to order and then go right back outside. Super cute coffee shop/tea spot. Stopped by the other day to grab a latte and do a little work. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of seats which leads me to believe this can be a popular spot. It was pretty empty but had a nice flow of traffic until they closed. My Chai Latte was tasty and they even had a few pastries. The Lemon Poppyseed muffin in particular was good. The only issue is parking. There's a parking lot but they share it with several other business and there aren't many spaces. I can see this being issue when it's really busy. It's very rare for me to post any type of review on Yelp, but in this case I feel it's necessary. It was my first time visiting this coffee shop. I chose this coffee shop because it looked interesting and because of the location. I'm in marketing and business development for a company and I'm always looking for new places to take clients AND host morning events.. arrived and drove around for - while looking for a parking space. It was a Tuesday morning around 11am - ish. There was ZERO parking anywhere, not on the side streets not in the strip center. I went to the parking lot across one of the sides streets.. it was full. A few spaces were unavailable because the fence was down (hurricane) Long story short .. I parked in one of the three empty "to go" spots. Walked up to the counter with a colleague, grabbed a couple of topo chicos as we were going to look at the menu and order. The guy behind the counter asked if we were planning on staying, I said yes - In a very CONDESCENDING manner he said darling you're going to have to move your car. I explained the parking situation.. he basically said too bad .. and again was extremely condescending. Perhaps he thought he could get away with that because of his cute Scottish - Irish or UK accent.. we left and will NEVER return nor will I ever plan on hiring them for my events. Mind you .. there were only 2 patrons having coffee... flexibility goes a long way .. you never know what bridge you might burn. read more

After reading multiple positive reviews about the honey lavender latte, I decided to see for myself if it was worth the hype. I got it with oat milk and the total without tip came out to $6.77, which is definitely the most expensive lavender oat milk latte I've had in Houston. I didn't think it was worth the price and it was definitely a lot sweeter than I expected so ask for less honey if you prefer it to be less sweet. I will say though, it was definitely the most aesthetic lavender latte I've ever had and it smelled amazing. Also, I believe they didn't have WiFi when we went, so not the ideal place to study either. Overall, I'm glad I checked it out and was intrigued by the unique flavors they had but I personally don't think the price is worth it. read more

I'm probably one of the last people try to this spot, even though I live only blocks away. One saturday I was wanting to try a new coffee shop though and came in. I ordered the popular nitro cold brew which is on tap next to the register. While I'm not a coffee drinker per se, it was still good and frothy, but strong. I was looking for power outlets and didn't see that many, mainly a few on the west and east walls, but not all over the place like some shops. They do have other items for purchase if you get hungry, and a board by the counter with their daily off-menu items. They also serve beer and wine. They were advertising a boozy mai tai, which is a funny way of putting it, since mai tai's are known to not only be the most popular tiki drink, but are pretty stout as well. I've been to this coffee shop twice and had trouble finding parking in the shopping center both times. According to the other reviews they're quite strict about the to-go parking so park on the side of the street. For drinks I've had the iced matcha latte and one of their current specials, the ice honey lavender latte. My friend recommended this to me and while I was scared of the drink being overly lavender and tasting like a scented candle, it had just a hint of lavender at the end, which I really liked! I would definitely come back just for this drink, so hopefully they keep it on their menu.
