I contacted Sam to inquire first about filling a chip. He responded promptly and with reasonable…read morepricing. In the few days between that and me getting down to the shop, I had something (a tool? A rock?) fly into my windshield on the 163, leaving a hole almost the circumference of the bottom of a soda can. This would require a full windshield replacement. I contacted Sam, then my insurance. Sam tried to get OEM glass but of course Progressive declined. Regardless, Sam managed the filing of the claim in a 3-way call with me and Progressive, then we set the appointment right away. I was able to do my computer work in their waiting room while I waited. Sam and his partner switched out the glass in less than two hours, leaving my SUV spotless. The glass is calibrated and all of the features still work perfectly. It is not often you find a business that goes above and beyond, but this is one of three I've found in SD (another one is Wizard of Water Heaters, and I've since found a clock repair shop in El Cajon that is amazing- DM me if needed! ;-)). I would highly recommend Sam for any auto glass needs you may have!

I had a chip in my windshield and my insurance company set up an appointment with Auto Glass of San Diego to do a mobile repair (fill). Auto Glass of San Diego gave me a four-hour window on Friday, and said the technician would call 30 minutes prior to arriving. After waiting around all morning and not receiving a call or visit, I finally called them 30 minutes after the allotted window and was told that the technician was in North County, 1.5 hours away, supposedly stuck in traffic. It was never explained to me why they scheduled back-to-back appointments at opposite ends of the county, didn't plan for Friday traffic on Rt. 5, and hadn't bothered to call and let me know they were running late. Despite misgivings, I decided to give Auto Glass of San Diego another chance, and had them reschedule for Monday morning, this time in an hour window, for the first appointment of the day to ensure that the technician would not be running late. Imagine my frustration when they no-showed AGAIN! This time when I called, I was told that the technician was "only" 30 minutes away, and would head to my location next. I told them to cancel the appointment, and will be letting my insurance know about my experience.
