Weirdly enough they couldn't do it, and it turns out I'm glad they couldn't. Apparently there are materials they couldn't get due to the age and style, so I had to check in to alternatives. Magic Windshield got back to me first and had marvelous reviews and I see why now. First, the frustrating. When I checked, they got back to me with a very low quote. I called them up, and I asked two questions. "Does it have a logo?" No. That costs more. Okay I figured it would. "This other company couldn't do it due to this that and the other. Are you sure you can do it?" Yes, but it will cost more because of these things. At this point I'm frustrated that people don't check before giving a quote and making appointments, but I'm starting to think I should just get it done, so I bite the bullet, pay a bit more, and make the appointment. A day later they are changing my appointment time; and I'm questioning my intelligence for making an appointment with a completely unknown entity. Now, the good. The glass fits like a glove, unlike what was in the car before. They fixed the molding that the previous company messed up. They also aligned the trim correctly, which the previous company also messed up. The front of the car literally has never looked this good. Once they got here (and it turns out they had a good reason for the reschedule), they did a quick and efficient job. Despite the previous outfit's incompetence, they did not charge more. They fixed the problems, and were as good as their word on the quote. I promise, I had no idea that it had been done wrong, but now that it's right, I can tell. Bottom line, they did a good job. The work is good, they use the right parts, and though I paid a bit more than some others might have charged, it was worth it.

I called Magic Windshields because they were close to my work. Magic Windshields opened early so I called them right when they opened. I spoke with Gracie who was very helpful and checked with the installers and manager to make sure they could get my windshield replaced before I left work. I needed to leave work by 2pm at the latest and she made sure it would happen. I was also informed the company was also a recommended shop by my insurance, so that was a nice bonus. Gracie told me they could get it done and come to my work to get it done before 1pm. Cristian, the installer called me about 10 minutes before he arrived and quickly replaced my windshield. I am extremely thankful they were able to help me out so quickly and get me back on the road. The interaction I had with both employees was very pleasant and professional and the install was great.

The only way to find out is just to do your research, find a glass company that specializes in the older glass replacements and ask questions if you've got em (which I did). My insurance sent me to Safelite, but after reading their reviews there was no way I was going to trust them with my truck! I found Blue Chip and their amazing customer feedback online and gave them a call. Kelly answered my questions, and was humbled by my asking to switch from Safelite. The appointment was set, lobby was stocked with delicious snacks (even vegan) and drinks, and the bathroom was clean. Chris checked me in, and John checked me out when it was time to leave. Freddy did a stellar job on my truck, even grabbing me to show what the body of my truck looked like after removing the old glass (yeah, there was some rust there). He explained that while he can do his best to clean it up by grinding it, that there would be a chance in the future for leaks and would be unavoidable unless I got body work done to fix it, which I opted out of. I thanked him for his transparency. Mind you, I have a 1999 GMC Suburban, which is not perfect, but I don't mind it. Immediately I was contacted by Safelite before I knew it. They had the windshield for our Honda CRV and scheduled us for a Saturday installation. Saturday came and I was contacted by Sergio to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived first thing I asked was where would be a good location on the driveway and right off the bat told me to park near his vehicle. The installation did not take more than an hour plus he educated me on how the rear view mirror is removed as well as installing it. I have to give Sergio a big shout out for his professional experience as well as advice. I would not recommend this company…read more I made an appointment through Yelp and scheduled my vehicle for window tinting on a Friday at 10:00 a.m. I was originally told the job would take only a couple of hours, and my plan was to wait for the vehicle. When I arrived, I was informed they were running behind and that the car would likely be ready around 3:00 p.m. They told me they would call about 30 minutes before pickup. By 3:00 p.m., I still hadn't heard anything, so I called them myself. I was then told the car would be ready in about 30 minutes. I headed over and picked it up. When I got home, I noticed they had removed my dash camera in order to install the tint, which is understandable. However, they did not properly remove the adhesive stickers associated with the camera. On one side, it appears they cut the tint around the sticker, leaving the edge of the tint lifted. On the other side, they applied the tint partially over the sticker. Now, if I want to properly remove the sticker and reinstall everything correctly, I would have to risk lifting or damaging the tint. This is something that should have been addressed during installation. The passenger side looked fine, but the work around the dash camera was sloppy and unprofessional. I called the shop, explained the issue, and was told it would be taken care of. I was asked to send photos, which I did immediately. After sending the pictures, I never received a follow-up response. Mistakes happen, but what really disappointed me was the lack of communication and follow-through.
