I was recently in Buffalo for a concert, and we came here for breakfast the day after. It was sooooooo good. If I'm ever in Buffalo again, I'll be coming back here! The coffee was fantastic. I got a brown sugar cardamom latte and it was so cozy and delicious. My husband and I got the griddled ham egg & cheese sandwiches and they were also amazing. Sweet and savory. My friend got a brie and jam deconstructed toast situation and enjoyed it. There were so many pastries and breads, and we wanted them all but went with the rhubarb bar and crumb cake. Amazing. We got an apple cider loaf to take home and it was so great to have during the next week. The atmosphere is cute and there's a ton of seating inside and outside. First time here and was able to sit upstairs which is very cute and cozy. I had cheddar toast with egg salad. I love the vintage dishes - adorably plated food. My friend had apple cider toast with triple cream Brie and a side of chicken salad. Everything was delicious! My only complaint is no avocados are on the menu because they source everything locally. I was craving avocado on that cheddar toast! I ended up taking a loaf of cheddar bread home so I can top it with some avocado :) I also bought a loaf of Apple cider bread. Yum. I also had an oat milk latte - my first with oat milk - it grew on me as I drank it. It kind of tasted like someone poured coffee in my oatmeal - which was somehow yummy. The woman who took our order was very friendly and was great with her suggestions of sides to go with the toast. A great downtown find! This is coffee shop meets brunch/bakery. They have a nice selection of flavors for your coffee, we had the caramel latte and the brown sugar cardamom latte and both were delicious. We got the special, French toast breakfast sandwich and what a fun option! The mustard and syrup dipping sauces were a great touch for this sandwich and we thoroughly enjoyed. There is ample seating, it was a rainy day but there is a nice outdoor area as well. My latte came out hot when I ordered iced but was quickly fixed and the staff was very friendly and apologetic for the minor mistake. We will be back! read more

Updated review: I stopped by today and fell in love even more. The carrot cake is still amazing. I tried the whole wheat toast with Spar's ham, homemade pesto and gruyere cheese and it was crazy good! Everything so tasty and fresh and simple. I absolutely love this place. Five Pointers Bakery is a cozy place with coffee, bread, toast-galore and now: wifi. For the longest time, it was the only coffeeshop in Buffalo that I could think of that didn't have Internet. Now, they have expanded the space to offer events in the upstairs area and now have Internet. If you're looking for delicious toasts and cheeses and a tasty coffee brew, Five Points could be your jam. I, personally wish that they had a more extensive menu rather than just toasts and such -- I do desire breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, etc every now and then when I find myself skipping Five Points for this reason. We were in the area to check out butter block, but they were closed (our bad) - so we popped into 5 Points bakery instead. If I were to come back to Buffalo, I'd love to stay in the 5 points neighborhood and explore more. The environment is artsy and inclusive. If driving, be prepared to circle for parking and to park on the street. The cafe has a parking lot but it's small! Fair enough, as the space is large enough to always find seating. I ordered a strawberry matcha which wasn't too sweet or lumpy (many cafes prepare matcha wrong), apple cider toast and a strawberry rhubarb bar. Everything was delicious! I just -- you know I know I'm supposed to use words to describe my experience, but I'm going to leave this one up to the imagination & let you take a bite of the cake (& as many other items as you can fit in your system) for yourself. They offer endless seating in their vintage, homey, plant-filled, cozily decorated place. Love everything about Five Points Bakery. We already knew the bread was excellent, but had no idea how cute it was inside and out. As it is winter, there weren't any tables outside, but they have tons of space and I imagine it is a lot of fun to sit outdoors in the summer. The inside has such a great atmosphere. The space is large with high ceilings, yet it still managed to feel cozy. There is also a large space upstairs available for large groups. We didn't eat on our first trip, but we will definitely be back to have a meal soon. Our purpose was to get some fresh bread. They had about ten different breads (and pizza dough) in the counter and they also mentioned they had more varieties in the freezer, more on that in a moment. The loaves are unsliced, but they are happy to slice it for you to save you the trouble at home. We went with the apple cider bread and we both love it!! Breakfast the last couple days has been a slice with a little butter and a little honey, perfect for bringing out the sweetness in the bread. The prices are higher than a loaf you would get at the grocery store, but in my opinion it's well worth it. Back to the freezer/refrigerator . There are a freezer and fridge full of not only bread, but items that they use in their kitchen. So if you love the free range eggs you had on your sandwich, you can take a dozen home with you. On the day we visited, I saw eggs, ground beef, butter, milk, sauerkraut and bottled water. I love that they stand behind their ingredients and want to share them with their customers. The frozen bread is a great option if you love the bread but don't see yourself visiting often. Make sure you check out the book of photos from their restoration, I love that they have that out to look through. The moment we stepped into Five Points, the smell of the freshly baked bread had already sealed the deal. We were visiting Buffalo for a weekend and found the bakery through their raving yelp reviews - all warranted if you were still wondering. We were able to walk in and order, and felt they had taken sound COVID precautions in ensuring everyone's safety. There's ample seating outside (one covered table as well) with a small stage that I can imagine fills up with the warmer weather. Eats: Apple Cider toast w/triple cream brie (5/5) - This is what dreams are made of. Perfectly toasted with sweet hints of apple, paired perfectly with creamy brie that I all but inhaled (what's lactose intolerance anyways?). Cinnamon Roll (4.5/5) - Perfect frosting to roll ratio! Not overly sweet with a rustic, whole grain roll that was reminiscent of a "medieval breakfast by the hearth" in the words of my partner. The coffee hit the spot and I couldn't help grabbing a Blackbird cider for the road. I'm torn because I loved the vibe here and the service was really friendly, but I wasn't a huge fan of the food and thought it was a bit overpriced. I love toast, so I tried a couple items. I had their sourdough toast minus the turkey, so it was mixed greens, avocado, and sliced cheese. I would have preferred the cheese to be melted onto the toast instead of cold slices on the side, so that probably factored into it just being okay to me. The cinnamon swirl toast was better, and it was interesting in that the toast was served separately from a cute little dishes of icing and cinnamon sugar, so you could adjust the toppings to your taste. My honey lavender latte was perfect and I could taste the lavender with the right amount of sweetness. I love that it wasn't overly filling for a breakfast, so that was a definite plus. So finding treasures tucked into hidden corners makes life fun! Five Points Bakery is absolutely charming and located in a beautiful garden filled with plants and art work. There are plenty of tables to enjoy your order outside, but I had to take mine to go. They had an intercom set up and you simply told them what you wanted and ran your card through the machine which was also outside on the table by the menu. Further down they set up three large tables enclosed by large plastic sheets (so there was no contact at all ) where they brought out your order. The Power Bread was very good and would make a wonderful sandwich toasted. The Cinnamon Raisin bread was delicious and would be delightful as French toast. The Apple cake was a tiny bit too sweet for me, although as I read this I find it almost unbelievable! The Cinnamon Roll.... ok it may not be the most beautiful cinnamon roll you ever saw, or the most glamorous, but it was delicious!!! Definitely don't judge that roll by its cover. Super cute hidden gem! I had no idea this whole area existed. I had the latte of the day which was a mocha. It was outstanding. I went with the spicy chicken sandwich. I've been here a couple times now and forgot to write a review until now! 5 stars for the ambiance- super cozy, rustic, friendly employees. If the weather is nice, they have a ton of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunshine. They had hand sanitizer and free medical masks at the entrance today as well which was a nice touch. The food that I've had is very good but I think the prices are a bit high for what you get. I'm willing to pay more for a local business vs Starbucks but my bill was $30 for a latte and two breakfast sandwiches today, each item was $7 and then it was extra to add bacon. Everything about this place is fantastic. The focus point is the bread, which if you haven't tried you really should. There are about a dozen different options. You can enjoy it as toast with a variety of accompaniments and sides in-house, but you can also take some home either fresh or frozen and sliced. They also offer pastries. When I lived in the neighborhood I would ride my bike here. More recently, I have purchased their breads at the Lexington Co-op. But the bakery itself offers a lovely, relaxed atmosphere for eating onsite. I hadn't actually been here in a few years. The upstairs area is now open for dining in or can by rented for events. There is a parking lot and bike rack now too which was not present last time I visited. During the summer, outside seating is available as well. Today I enjoyed the Apple Cider Toast served with triple cream brie which I've had before. My friend had asked the girl working the register for recommendations. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Upon her recommendation I added a side of chicken salad to my order. That was a good call. My friend's order came with the Sharp Cheddar Bread which was also very good. I ordered a latte as well. We each bought a loaf of the Apple Cider bread to take home and a loaf of the Sharp Cheddar bread to share. They were happy to split the loaf for us into two separate bags. The staff here is excellent. All of the food is locally sourced and the plating is beautiful. I just love an artful presentation. Everything about Five Star Bakery is a solid five stars. read more

It's funny, I wrote a review on Google about 5 points about 6 months ago but after going there recently, and comparing to other cafes in a stones throw distance I think I was a little generous in giving it 4 stars. IMO the coffee and pastry at five points does leave some to be desired. My husband got this cinnamon roll which looked a bit like a hockey puck with icing. I got a orange blossom latte which was fairly nice but no comparison to remedy house just across the street. Eager to try their breads as I know that's what they are known for. My husband, three children and I stopped in for our first visit after an appointment at the children's hospital. With dozens of options we chose Five Points Bakery as it looked to fit our interests! We enjoyed a lovely lunch surrounded by an enchanting atmosphere with nice music playing. Unfortunately, this all came to complete turnaround at approximately 2:55 - lights started shutting off, the music halted, garbages were being emptied, vacuums and brooms out.... this is great to see such quick strides being made to prepare for closing however it completely kills the ambience for customers. We were nearly finished as it was so it was "okay" but what wasn't is one of the kitchen staff who approached our table asking for our dishes and telling us the establishment was closed. I replied that we just paid $80 for our meal and planned to finish without her needing to harass us out (again, minutes from being naturally finished anyways). She in my opinion distastefully followed up with, "well staff will be leaving soon, we have plenty of seating outside you can move to." Mind you this conversation was literally MINUTES after the 3 o'clock closing...it was 3:02 to be exact because I looked after she walked away with whatever plates she could gather from our table. We arrived at 2:05 (I know because I took a picture of a snail on the cactus outside before heading in), got our food at 2:36 (when our text letting us know our food was ready), which really didn't give us a ton of time to eat, especially with three small children... I'd maybe understand this attitude (not that a bussiness should give customers any ever) had we strolled in just before closing but we literally got there with what should have been plenty of time to order, have our food made and eat without an issue. I was really taken back by this employee and believe she should be better trained in this area and dealing with customers. It was quite a sad ending to such an otherwise marvelous meal and experience. In fact, until this happened my husband and I were discussing what a wonderful place it was. Whole Grain Cinnamon roll ($3.25) - I could really taste the whole grain with this cold cinnamon roll.
