I went to this location on Thursday, February 9th and I was excited since I hadn't had a good burger in a while. The gentleman that took my order that even was very kind, respectful and had a welcoming smile! I order a bacon and cheese kosher dog and a little cheese burger. I waited for my food and ate it in the car after receiving it. The buns were cold and the meat was warm. I didn't have the time to go back inside because I had a long commute ahead of me but hopefully the buns are warmed in the future along with piping hot meat :-) The cheese on my food wasn't even melted. So this is my first disappointing Five Guys experience but hopefully we'll have a more successful experience in the future. read more

This restaurant is definitely the best choice for an overqualified burger. They give you all of the toppings you want and the fries are the greatest that you will find anywhere. The only fallback in my view is that fact that they don't use real cheese on the cheeseburgers. You can tell this because the cheese doesn't melt, it sort-of just sits there. Paying that price for a burger or anything else for that matter, you should get real cheese, can I get an ahh men. The free peanuts are really a good thing to much on while you're waiting, although just dropping the shells on the floor is kind of pass-ay? Best burgers at a reasonable price that's also a few minutes away from home. There are no frozen patties here; everything is made fresh. The customer service at this Springfield location is superb and you get your order fairly quickly even when it's dinner time and the line is long. I don't *heart* this branch because when they put cheese on a grilled cheese, they just heat up the bread and then throw the cheese in the middle before packing it up to let you take home. That works in the hamburger, but not in a grilled cheese! Grilled bread w/cold cheese = this unhappy camper. It's happened twice now. Cold cheese = also not awesome in the veggie sandwiches. Yeah, it's five guys and my friends with glare at me for brushing off this burger place in the past, but excuse me bc my first experience was at an airport with a huge line forming behind me and no time to look over the menu properly. I did not know all the toppings were free. I walked away with a plain cheeseburger and huffed to myself, What is the big deal? To add, fries are not my thing in general. Driving home from NYC last night, I got to thinking about the last time I had a wiener with the works... insert dirty joke. (Double shame on you.) I googled what was available in my area and Five Guys came up. Five Guys serves hot dogs? Yes. And you can top it to infinity, with chunky onion, pickles, green peppers, cheddar, et cetera, exclamation. It's not gourmet; it's split, grilled, and solid. Stop going to 7-11. Stop using the cheese from the dispenser, it's for the nachos. This location is super clean, has a chipper crew that greets everyone with an awesome attitude, and I'll be back for a burger some time :) read more

It is what it is: simple and good. Just put in your order and it's QUICKLY done with FRESH ingredients. Burgers are always done well and you can put any amount of ingredients on it for free (though a few items you pay extra). The large fries is LARGE so enjoy - comes in a Styrofoam cup and in a paper bag. NUT ALLERGIES - they only serve peanuts in the restaurant, you are not allowed to take any out. VV, don't walk in if you have nut allergies. The fountain soda there has never disappointed - always fizzy and flavorful, never flat. read more

Well I can't speak to the actual meat burgers but the veggie sandwich we had from Five Guys was pretty good. It didn't even make me miss In-n-Out...that much. Ton of fries for the price, though they were kind of meh, they're not the Ore Ida style fries they have at Shake Shack (they should get shakes!), but they aren't amazing either. Decent. read more

Yeah, Five Guys is the king of burgers. The free peanuts are a nice touch and help pass the time while you wait for your masterpiece to be created. I find it somewhat amusing that they have a sign stating where the potatoes for that days fries are from (always in Idaho, of course), but they seriously have the best burgers with the possible exception of El Cap in St. Petersburg, FL. I am a fan of five guys to begin with because they have delicious food. This location is puts out quality food and the customer service is great. Honestly, they have a great staff at this location. The food comes out quick, even when it's busy they still manage to keep a good tempo when pumping out the burgers and fries. The fries are always not and fresh. I dig it. read more

Been eating here when they first opened! Never expected the place to be prestine, but I'm there for the food. I always call ahead and just drive over to pick up (only live 5min away). Their Cajun fries now come in 3 different sizes, but you only need the small since they fill the cup, place it in the paper bag, then put an extra scoop of fries in the bag on top. And they have free peanuts as you wait. Can't go wrong bc you choose what to put on your burger. read more

Not sure what I can really say about Five Guys that isn't said all the time. Good, greasy burgers that they serve up with some hot fries. Although, they won't grill jalapenos for me here like they will at the location off Beauregard. I still love it here though. read more

Just reopened, one of my coworkers is a five guys devotee so we went to lunch there today. I had the Little burger with onions, lettuce and tomato, mini fries and a small drink. The food comes in the brown paper bag with grease from the fries soaking through. This is not a healthy meal if that is what you are expecting but darn is it good! I had to dig my burger out from a mountain of fries, take my word for it the mini fries are plenty! The burger was delicious, nothing fancy just a good old burger done on a flat top with fresh toppings. The fries were hot, cooked to perfection. Of course there are peanuts to eat to if you have room. The staff at this location was cheerful and helpful, something hard to find in the Washington DC area. Great place to satisfy your hamburger and fries desires. read more

Had heard rave reviews of this place ever since we moved up to this area, so finally I took the dive. And now, I feel bad that we didn't take my sister when she was visiting! Yum!! No beef for me, so I had a grilled cheese. Hailing from so cal, I was hoping for something like In N Out's grilled cheese. It wasn't quite the same, but still soo good in it's own way! Grilled sourdough, with a few nice pieces of American cheese in between. I added lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo & ketchup, and it was AWESOME! We also ordered a medium fry, which was basically a 12 oz cup, overflowing double it's size. But those fries were great too! And, they have free salted peanuts to snack on before you get your burgers. read more

Five Guys is the ONLY place for burgers, as far as we are concerned, so we've been to Five Guys shops all over the East Coast. The one on Backlick Road is by far the best, and that included the original store in Arlington (now, sadly, closed). The food quality is consistent from store to store, so it has to be the staff that makes the Backlick Road location stand out. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable, and obviously works to please the customer. The building itself is one where business after business would set up, then fail, so when Five Guys moved in there over a decade and a half ago, we thought it might take on the jinx of the previous businesses in that location--not the case. Even though the Lorton location is closer to our home, we prefer to go to Springfield for our Five Guys Burgers and Fries. read more

A great burger joint. Pricey but worth it!!!!

I stopped at this 5 guys for just a small cheese burger with onions and regular fries. I have to say that the food was ready very fast and was nice and pipping hot. The cheese burger was very great as expected, and the fries were like none other. I liked the free peanuts, but I don't think they are as great as everybody raves about. The only complaint I have is that the people taking orders barely speak or understand English. It took several tries and hand gestures to explain to the cashier what u wanted to order. All in all though, I loved the huge choice of free toppings. read more

Well after waiting all that time it's a total let down. The new bigger five Guys on backlick rd in Springfield was much better as a little burger shack before the remodel. My order was total wrong whatever I can get over that but a couple other things really bothered me about my first visit back after the remodeling. I'm an American but I speak decent Spanish for my job and I couldn't help but notice that the Spanish ladies cooking and preparing the burgers felt it necessary to talk trash about each customer that came to the counter and then laughing hysterically at their own comments thinking none of us could understand them. The female customers suffered the most ridicule. The other thing I noticed while I was waiting was that the lady cooking the burgers took her burger spatula and cut about 5-10 percent of each burger that she cooked off in small chunks and pushed it to the side of the grill. At first I thought that the burger she did it to had a bad or visually unappealing spot so she cut it off until I noticed she was doing it to every burger she cooked. She was building up a pretty good size pile of cooked ground beef on the side of the grill. I'll leave it up to you to decide what she might be doing with all that ground beef at the end of her shift but I think when you pay that much for a burger I think you should get all of it not most of it. And yes they raised the prices to pay for that remodel. I think ill find another place buy my burgers. read more
