So I had one of those days where I was running around and starving between client appointments. I needed to grab something fast on the go and you know, sometimes all you really want in your life is a great, juicy, hot and melty cheeseburger lol. I stopped into Five Guys to quench the craving. It was a bit after standard lunch time and not busy at all. The counter server was fast, efficient and friendly helping me with my order and my food was ready quickly. I ordered a little cheeseburger with grilled onions and pickles. Unfortunately, even though I saw them make it fresh, my burger was only warm at best. To my disappointment, my onions were barely grilled, they were still crunchy. The burger in all was okay but for the price I was hoping for something better than Burger King quality. This place has never let me down in the past but definitely missed the mark today.

This is the review I never wanted to give. :( As a loyal customer of 5 Guys, Schenectady, my wife and I have enjoyed decent burgers and good fries for years. It's been a while since we ate there last and something terrible happened since then. We ordered single burgers and when we bit into them we both got nothing but bun. We opened the sandwich and discovered the meat patty was tiny; like what you get from White Castle, not at all like what we remember. For the price of the burgers, $6.50 and $7.50 (with cheese) one expects more than a measly 2 ounces of meat. I asked the manager if the burgers were made per their standard and he said "yes, they cover the bun" but you can see in the photos that's not close to true. Was this an ill advised April Fools' joke? Alas, no. 5 Guys has degenerated into an overpriced ripoff. This is very sad and I hope corporate will realize that this destruction of their value will bode portly for their future. Avoid them until they get their act together.

My burger was not cooked. The place is nice and everything else was good, but this was seriously uncooked. Update: Five Guys contacted me and will reimburse me for the burger they also apologized and questioned my health. Also, they said they would talk to the staff about cooking burgers completely in the future. Like I said before staff is very nice, but uncooked burgers are very bad.

A small cheese and fries. LTO, mayo, ketchup, mushrooms.

What's to say about Five Guys that hasn't already been said? It's the In n' Out of the East coast (well now they have them on the west coast too so that theory is shot, but it still stands). They have a simple menu, Burgers, Fries, Dogs. You add the toppings you want (otherwise it comes completely plain). What I usually get: Mayo, Ketchup, Fresh Onions, Sauteed Mushrooms. And if I'm feelin' it, I'll get Lettuce, tomato, and pickle. On a Small cheeseburger - which means 1 patty instead of 2. They can sometimes be slow, but that's only cause it's always made to order and super fresh. .... I almost have them 4 stars instead of 5 because of this. But decided for the freshness it's worth the wait. The prices are very reasonable. Burger, fries, and a drink will run you about $9 or so. I love the fries. You can choose between regular and Cajun style. I like both so I mix it up depending on my mood. I LOVE that Five Guys gives you a HEAPING scoop of fries inside your bag of fries. But I absolutely HATE that they put them in a Styrofoam cup. Come on, now. Really? A paper cup that is much more "Earth Friendly" as corny as that sounds will work just fine! In fact, from now on I plan on asking for them to skip the styofoam cup inside the bag of fries. Deal? Deal.

Located in the Mohawk Commons. I usually get the cheeseburger (two fresh ground beef patties-not frozen), topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, pickles, ketchup, and mayo. The fresh cut fries are fried in peanut oil and served in a cup. Free Coke soft drink refills from the fountain. I also enjoy the complementary roasted peanuts from the large box near the counter. Overall, great burgers and fries!

    Bag o' fries...mmmm....

After reading this food critics article -- "I Asked 6 Chefs…read morefor the Best Fast Food Fried Chicken, and This Classic Won by a Landslide" By Karla Walsh Allrecipes I headed to the closest Popeyes to pick up lunch for my 20 year old grandson and me. The article is based on critiquing nationally available fast food fried chicken. Six experts selected a winner, and it was Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen by a landslide. Here is their justification: "When it comes to fast food fried chicken, no one does it better than Popeyes. They've really nailed the salty, peppery, crispy coating, adored by this Southerner. Plus, Popeyes chicken is always juicy and tender, even the breast pieces, which are often dry at fast food places. The moistness they are talking about is likely due to the 12-hour marinade the brand boasts about on its website." Another Excerpt -- "Popeyes' crust really knocks it out of the park. It has the crispiest breading that's never soggy, greasy, or underseasoned." No wonder Popeyes came out on top during our team's taste test, too." At the drive thru, we picked up our order of Crispy Chicken with Louisiana Seasoning and Wings. Shortly after, we concluded that the fried chicken was even better than KFC and way better than Chick Fil A. We agreed with the experts who wrote the article. In addition, the bone in and boneless Wings from Popeyes were also excellent. And the Sauces! The Mardis Gras and the Sweet Heat dipping sauces were outstanding.
