Dear Five Guys Customer Service, I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent experience at one of your Five Guys locations in 130 Gibbs St Rockville MD I have been a longtime customer, which is why this experience was particularly frustrating and concerning. However, the customer service was excellent. Staff is very friendly. First, I ordered a regular hamburger and little fries. At no point did the cashier, Kelly B., inform me that I could make my order a meal by adding a drink and getting small fries for only $5.99. Had I been made aware of this option, I would have gladly chosen it because it would have provided me with a drink for only a small additional cost. As a customer, I believe employees should make customers aware of available meal options when those options could provide a better value for essentially the same order. I was disappointed to discover this only after I had already sat down and started eating. More importantly, I was extremely concerned by what I observed while waiting for my food to be prepared. The employees working in the back were talking excessively and loudly over the food they were preparing. One of the employees was preparing my food while engaged in this conversation. I was standing there watching the food being handled while the employees were talking directly over it, and neither appeared to be wearing a face covering. Regardless of current mask requirements, talking excessively over food that is actively being prepared is extremely concerning from a hygiene and food-safety standpoint. Customers should be able to feel confident that their food is being prepared in a clean and sanitary manner whether this is in person or delivery. There is an obvious concern about respiratory droplets or saliva potentially contaminating food when employees are talking directly over it. Seeing this happen to the food I was about to eat made me extremely uncomfortable. I understand that employees need to communicate with one another while working, but there should be appropriate standards regarding conversations around exposed food. Employees should not be carrying on loud or excessive conversations directly over food while preparing customers' orders. I am asking Five Guys to please take this complaint seriously and investigate what happened. Specifically, I would appreciate management reviewing the food-preparation practices at this location, reinforcing proper hygiene and food-handling procedures with the staff, and addressing the customer-service issue regarding employees informing customers about available meal options and pricing for upscale. As a longtime customer, I expect better from Five Guys. I should not have to question whether my food was prepared in a sanitary environment, nor should I have to discover after paying that there was a significantly better-value meal option that was not explained to me. I appreciate you taking the time to review my concerns and hope this feedback is helpful in improving the customer experience and maintaining proper food-handling standards. Thank you for your time and for looking into this matter. read more

I've always been a fan of this burger chain even if a meal provides enough calories to carry you for 3 days. Obviously I couldn't come here every day, or even once a month, but on occasion this restaurant serves-up awesome red meat hamburgers and fries that are delicious but not the type of food you would want to consume regularly. I arrived here after checking out a flea market in the adjoining plaza, and they were just opening-up and getting started. I brought enough cash to pay for the two meals so there were no excuses to go all out today. I ordered the regular (huge) hamburger with a medium sized fries which was plenty. I maintained some decorum by only getting water this time. The burger was quite the creation. The fries too were consumed by the both of us in a matter of fifteen minutes. Great stuff! read more

It's 5 Guys so don't expect much. However, this location has better service. I dined in , as I dont recommend carry out. Fries are only good when you are there. However,. I'm not too keen on them. Yes, they are more fresh, but no crisp. They lose their form quickly. Shakes are good. I usually get a kids burger as I'm a light eater. 5 guys ain't cheap either. I wish they would season their meat. 4 stars mostly for the good customer service. If your getting fries to go, have your bag doubled. The bags will rip. read more

The all ladies crew that prepared our food were awesome, friendly and served a delicious hot meal for us. We love the free peanuts! Oh and the shake was perfect to match a snowy day. Best fries ever! Gracias read more

A typical Five Guys with large burgers and fries. I also love the milkshakes. I love the staff here--very friendly and helpful.. The ambiance is old school burger fast food. This is an old reliable place. read more

I've been to this location a few times in the last year. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Haven't had any issues with errors in the hamburger (you tell them what toppings you want from a long list of options -you can get as few or as many as you want - and my order is always correct.) I usually get a Junior Burger, which is a single patty. Between the bun, single patty and all the toppings (and the fries!) I'm usually satisfied. The fries are always delicious to the point of addicting. A ridiculously large portion of fries poured into a paper bag that gets more oily from the fries as time goes on. You know eating all these fries isn't the best idea, but the fries are so darn delicious and there's so many, even in the "small" serving. They have a soda machine that dispenses many, many options of soft drink, including my favorite, light Minute Maid lemonade. I have two criticisms about this place. One is the price point, which is company-wide and not directed to this location alone. This is basically fast-food type food, and a Junior burger, small fries and a drink should, I think, cost less than what it does at Five Guys. Because of the price, I don't come here very often. Although I leave satisfied, I do feel that I paid a lot of money for what I ultimately got. The other criticism relates to this location. I miss the ketchup dispenser that I see at some other Five Guys locations. Here, you have to get multiple ketchup packets, which is a pain in the neck considering I like ketchup with my fries and you get so many fries. I'm giving the location four stars. I'm not going to ding this place for the high prices, but I am for the ketchup. read more

Came here a couple if weeks ago for lunch. Brought a few girls over after a half day of school to go skating. I like Five Guys but the prices are really outrageous! I understand that inflation is an issue but $31 for a burger, two little fries and two sodas, or one little cheeseburger, little fries and a soda = $19! I could literally go across the rink to Gyuzo and get much more than a burger and fries for less, which is what I ended up doing. They have great lunch specials. read more

Accepts cash and credit card. Located inside Rockville town center. If you come here, people seem to be ordered their milk shakes. Their prices seems to be increasing compared to prior year. However, they make their food to order so it's fresh. Their burgers are good, but definitely get to little cheeseburger as the double patty can be a bit too much. Their fries are fresh and hot. Definitely order their Cajun fries. The staff here are attentive read more

Very clean. Good service. The food is delicious. Free peanuts while waiting. Nifty 100+ option soda system. Generous serving sizes. Only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is the hefty price tag. read more

It's five guys!! The burgers are always good and the fries are just the best. The people at my five guys are super friendly and that really makes a difference when you're ordering a 20 dollar burger meal. read more

I think Five Guys has one of the best burgers in the area. I like it a lot better than Shake Shack and Habit Burger. I love their version of a Patty melt - you order a grilled cheese sandwich and add a patty and grilled onions. The bread was toasted and buttery and the hamburger patty tasted fresh and really good. I usually get their little cheeseburger with all the toppings (it's included so pile it on!). I think that's what separates Five Guys from it's competitors - the free toppings - love the grilled onions and mushrooms. They have two Coke freestyle machines. I usually get the Orange or Ginger Lime flavor. Of course their little fries is like an extra large size. Fries are nice and crispy. Don't forget to add malt vinegar to it. Almost like you are eating Thrasher french fries. read more

This is one of several equivalent hamburger restaurants in the Rockville area. I've been here a number of times. The hamburgers are decent size and the meat is fresh. It is easy to customize to your liking. The french fries are also fresh. My children have always liked the fact that peanuts Are available for a snacking on. Pricing is reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. This may be considered fast food, this is nothing like McDonald's, or Burger King. Rather, it's on the same level as BurgerFi or Smashburger. I recommend this restaurantto anybody looking for quick fresh meals within walking distance of Rockville town center read more

I will never an I mean never , go back to 5guys . stopped in today for lunch with a friend, it's my turn to buy . two burgers a regular coke and a small fries. $31.12 . the fries were $5.19 and I got about 30 of them . food is ok but price is out of control . read more

I love this Five Guys! It's always, always, clean! Really, every time I've come, I see a staff member sweeping the floor (pesky peanut shells) or wiping the tables at least once during my visit. The food is perfect, as usual. There is no burger like a Five Guys burger. BP likes the regular fries and I prefer the Cajun, but I believe both are equally as addictive. We always order a Medium order to share, but the cook fills the cup to the brim and there are always more then enough to munch on later in the day. I usually get a little cheese burger (so freakin' cute) and a hot dog (sometimes with cheese). Mind you, this lasts me about two and a half meals, but like BP says, my eyes are bigger then my stomach! I love the crispy edges of the hot dog. They way they slice it in half? Mmmmmm... Perfection! The bathrooms are clean, as well! read more

A double cheeseburger, fries, and a drink they wanted $17. I was pretty shocked. So. I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and got a burger for $12.99 and fries were included. My other complaint is they only do American cheese and they don't allow medium or medium rare burgers. read more

Really good burgers, dogs, and fries. Tried a hot dog for the first time here and its great; unlimited toppings on that too. Fries were hot and crisp (always eat their fries as soon as you get them, they will steam in the bag and become soggy if you wait). Banana shake had very little banana, it was more vanilla, with a faint hint of banana. read more

Five Guys - Burgers Near Me - Rockville, Maryland

Located right next to the Dawson's Market and parking garage. Plenty of indoor seating, though I usually see too many people inside. I ordered a burger with pickles, lettuce, ketchup, and cheese. This wasn't my first Five Guys experience, so I had an idea of what to expect. Unfortunately, it took me a while to get my burger (despite me being the only other customer in the joint at that time) and it was soggy. Five Guys are known for decent burgers, tons of fries, and their relatively cheap price. I like the franchise as a whole, but I wouldn't come to this particular spot again, especially with Dawson's Market and much better venues nearby. read more

Two words: CAJUN FRIES! If I could, I would eat these fries everyday--they are THAT delicious! The staff are friendly and welcoming and the location is clean. Service is fast too. I have came here on numerous occasions and the quality is always consistent. If you're looking for an alternative to fast food burgers, come to FIVE GUYS and you won't be disappointed! read more

I think they cut down on the portion of fries they still do that scoop move but not as generous as before. I had a burger without the bun! It was a monster and they wrap it with lettuce on the outside. I basically get everything possible in it and have a burger salad! I bought a drink here but they didn't give me my cup whatever I forgot to ask for it. Free peanuts can't go wrong unless your allergic! read more

I love Five Guys because of the amount of fries they give you! I'm not a huge fan of their burgers because i feel its too greasy and overpriced. Last week, my husband and i went in for a snack. Originally we went in just for their fries but decided to get a hotdog. I really like their hotdogs! We ordered a cheesy bacon hotdog and it was super delicious!! Customer service is always nice here but food does take awhile to come out. Will be back for the hotdogs and fries. read more

Blahhh. I literally felt I was inhaling fat as I ate the peanut-oil-soaked fries. Granted, I only got the grilled cheese, which was not a special, but it was probably better than the burger, which my friend had, and said was "just ok." The wait was very fast and the restaurant at Rockville Town Center was clean, but there is nothing like a brown paper bag dotted with grease stains and a HUGE-ASS cup of fries to make you feel like you'll need to work out for the next 5 years, non-stop. Also, they give out peanuts for free, for a reason I have not yet ascertained. read more

It's a decent Five Guys, but they clearly have issues at lunchtime when there's a flurry of people. I waited while no orders were called for 5-10 minutes, after which a half-dozen were all called out at once. Besides that, so long as you avoid it when public schools have a half day and the whole place gets overrun with angst-y teens, you'll be fine! (it's nuts; you've been warned) read more

Ahhh Five Guys. Great greasy burgers and fries right in the Town Square neighborhood. Free peanuts while you wait for them to custom cook your order. Free refills on the sodas. Clean place with perky staff. Happiness abounds, for everyone - except your arteries! Tip: while they do have large fries and large drinks on the menu, you don't need to size up to large, when the small fries are gargantuan and the soda refills are free. Ordering usually goes pretty quickly. You will wait 5 or so mins. for your food to be ready, but it's worth it. read more

I still love Five Guys, but recently the burgers have come out clearly overcooked. Also, the cheese on the cheeseburger was still cold! It hadn't melted at all and left the rest of the burger feeling lukewarm, with only the very center of the cheese slightly melted, and the edges of the cheese frosty. Maybe they were training new people when I came, but I'm used to most Five Guys burgers being hot, juicy and with the cheese melted on it. read more

Burger Joint. Period. Don't come here if you want a salad (although you can get the no-carb burger w/o the bun) but I don't understand the poor reviews for a burger cooked on a flat-top (buy a George Foreman grill if you want the grease to drip off!!) and French fries cooked in oil...there will be grease!!! Having said that, Five Guys start with fresh, never frozen beef and there will be a wait as they cook the burger when you order it...no heat lamp! Nosh on some peanuts while you wait...that is why they are there! My only complaint about this place is a regular burger comes with 2 patties and if you have never been here before, you have no idea how BIG the portions are. HaHa...what a problem to have!! Seriously, you have to order the "Little" Cheeseburger if you are going to order a small fry otherwise you need to be rolled out the door. The burger will not be small, it just designates 1 beef party. Trust me on this because then you can load up on the FREE toppings like grilled onions and grilled mushrooms (YES FREE!!), your traditional lettuce, tomatoes (they give you 2 slices), raw onions, pickles, relish, mayo, ketchup, mustard or BBQ sauce. (BK has nothing on having it your way...) I have never ordered nor have I seen a large order of fries...I know they exist because they are listed on the menu but what do they look like? You look inside your brown paper bag (yes, there is grease because they just came out of the deep fryer!) and you see nothing but fries. You try to pull out the 8oz paper cup the fries come in but still see a massive amount of fries still in the bag so you just rip the bag open and you think the guy behind the counter must think you are cute because there is at least 32oz of fries sitting in front of you!!! Nope. That is just the 5 Guys Regular aka small French fries. A crunchy mound of salted, crispy yet meaty fries. My favorite are the tiny pieces that are extra crispy. If you fry anything, Newton's 4th Law states that it will be delicious!! Tonight, I forgot that I always order the little cheeseburger and got the regular instead...that and a small (I chuckle every time I say that) fry set me back $9.10. Eat in, carry out, order online or call ahead...just save a little room for the plethora of free peanuts while you wait. You just gotta love a joint where you read FREE in the review not once but twice!!! **I have never eaten their hot dogs but they slice their Hebrew nationals down the middle and griddle on the flat top until crispy...SCORE!! **the only thing that could have made my burger 5-stars is if they toast their buns...I think I will ask him to do that next time!! read more

Stopped in last night before my evening class (just before the skies let loose a deluge of rain). I was the only customer in the place. No line at 5:45pm! I ordered a cheeseburger (I guess it comes with two patties) with cheese, tomato, lettuce, and pickle (all toppings are free). I added a small fry and a soft drink. Burger was juicy, fries were fine but plentiful. I think I paid $13+ total. I'd say it's good for a quick bite and it's better than fast food. Can't say I seek out Five Guys though. Service was great (again I was the only one there), but I found the furniture to be cheap and uncomfortable and I don't think it was the cleanest eating a space I've seen. read more

I love their fries. Why is it so so so good? Best fries I've had ever. They are so crunchy, crisp and flavorful. Plus, I don't feel as guilty eating it because it's cooked in peanut oil. I want some now. Note: I dislike those fries that are too potato-ey. As for their burgers, the little cheeseburger is way to fill me up. It took me a whole 24 hours to feel like I fully digested it completely. They regular burgers just have two patties, two cheeses--too fattening. The only problem I have with their burgers is sometimes it's so hard to eat, because I order it with all the free toppings, and the bread just becomes soggy SOMETIMES. But I don't mind, because the fries make up for it. Five guys is the place to go when you're having a hamburger craving! Don't forget the fries!! read more

I love the burgers here, hot dogs here are good. I just wish the wait time was not existent. I always find myself calling ahead so I can make it back to work during my lunch breaks. Fries in peanut oil - yum Burgers cooked the way you want with good toppings. This was the closest I could had gotten to In-N-Out. Seems like the quality of burgers on the eastcoast is coming up which is great and Five Guys is the standard on which I equate to. The greased bag of the fries... YUM - true fast food but not fast read more

My last visit to the east coast was the first time I had ever had the chance to stuff my face with this most awesome of awesome burgers. Locally we may have our picks of nice burger joints, but none compare in the ranks of Five Guys. If the burger patty wasn't tasty enough, the fresh and crisp veggies, cheese, and oh yes, bacon will sure do you in. I loaded basically everything on it, slathered it in grilled onions, and enjoyed. To top it off, a tall two scoops of their original peanut-oil fried french fries really went the extra mile for me. Step aside McDonald's wimpy skinny fries, helloooo Five Guys.. wait.. uhm, that sounds a bit.. never mind. read more

Delicious burgers in a pinch. I always get mine made like a grill cheese (toasted bun, tastes like a patty melt!) extra cheese, bacon, and fried onions. Love the free peanuts to munch on while I'm waiting for my order. Although they don't have the Coca Cola Freestyle, like the location in Olney, they do have 4 different flavors of Gold Peak ice teas next to the soda fountain. A little on the pricey side for fast food imo, but I'm happy to shell out a little more for freshly made food! read more

When I'm starving and feel like having a burger and I'm in the area, this is where I will go. Keyword = starving, because when you're starving almost anything tastes damn good. Besides that, I like the fact that they have a bunch of "free" toppings. A lot of my friends are in love with their fries but they're alright to me; I prefer fries from McDonald's or Jack in the Box! Very, very greasy burgers that will satisfy your hunger though. read more
