Located in Rockville off of the Rockville Pike. Tons of free parking and accepts both cash and credit card. If you are in the mood for some quick taco and fast food Mexican food, this is a place to go. Their cheesy potato side dish packed tons of flavor from the cheese and sour cream. Their burritos are good too. Their ground beef is standard on most of their food items. You may have to pay a little extra for steak / chicken. Their drive thru tends to get busy during rush hour and during the late evenings so be prepared to wait. You can always order food from the Taco Bell app and just come here to pick up your online order at the cashier. If you are in the mood for some fast food tacos, this place does hit the spot. Drive thru can be long during busy late nights. Otherwise, its a good food spot.

I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to come over here today for lunch because it had already been a good couple of months since I had any type of Mexican food. I started to check out their kiosk to see what combos they had to offer. In years past, I would have simply ordered single tacos, but I didn't have a drink with me today, and I figured something to wash down the food would be helpful. I found the basic three taco combo with a fountain drink for over $8.00. These weren't the taco Supremes but I guessed that it was an OK deal. While I was waiting for my order to be prepared, I harkened back to the days when their simple tacos we're $.99 cents. The service was not good at all. Here's what happened. They yelled out my name for me to pick-up my order. I went to the counter and the employee simply walked away without even acknowledging if I was the correct person. And the drink cup was not there. I needed to wait up to a minute for a second employee to hand me a drink cup. The tacos we're just OK.

Shows the level of care the rude young boy with dark hair took in literally throwing the half wrapped food in the bag.

Horrible. Disgustingly rude workers who toss your food in the bag like trash, so the cheese falls out of the barely wrapped tacos and spills into all the other items, including desserts. Really skimping on portion sizes to the point of absurdity. Tacos are 90% empty at this location with the barest minimum of meat or chicken and a slight dusting of nasty dried out cheese. Drive to a different location unless you want to be ripped off my rude and careless workers and cheapskate owner and management. Note photo below with cheese falling out of the lazy half wrapped anorexic taco onto the cinnabon delights.

You order at a counter and are given a number to display at your table. Our food took only a few minutes to arrive. The server also brought over a box holding three salsas in squeeze bottles. The green salsa was pretty mild and the orange one was super hot. The dark one was, I think, chipotle. I didn't care for the chipotle. The tacos looked great and were each pretty packed with ingredients. Pollo tacos - I thought the chicken was a bit dry and, because of that, disappointing. Veggie - The veggie were filled with cooked onion, mushroom and peppers. Although they were well prepared and held a lot of veggies, there was no seasoning, so the taste was pretty flat/boring. I had to rely on adding guac and some salsa for flavor. I was hoping the veggie would have some flavor without having to rely on sauces. Al Pastor - was very good. Guacamole - comes "market price". The side we got was $3, which I think was a good value. The guac was flavorful and was a nice portion. I am glad I had it to supplement the disappointing Veggie taco and the dryness of the Pollo. The corn tortillas were good. The place is nice and comfortable.

Not fancy, but nice and comfortable tables with huge umbrellas to block the sun. The food here is good. In the past, we got the Platter for 2 ($27), which is a nice sized platter of wood fire grilled steak, chicken, sausage and shrimp with rice/beans/salad and tortillas. We couldn't finish it all and it was all delicious. No complimentary chips and salsa for the table, so tonight we ordered chips and guac to start. The guac was good with chunks of tomato, onion and avocado; it would have been nice to also get some salsa with it when you order the guac, but there's a separate charge for chips/salsa. For entrees, we got a Carne En Vara and Carne Asada. The En Vara is a skewer of chicken, beef, onion and green peppers, with rice/beans and a side order of arepitas (corn fritter). Everything was well prepared. I liked the arepitas. The Asada was a decent piece of beef that was well prepared. Came with rice and beans and flour tortillas. The service was very good. We were seated and received ice water promptly. The guac came out quickly as did the entrees, but not rushed. The server came by a couple of times to see how we were doing snd she refilled our waters. This is a "Latin" restaurant, and maybe I'm used to the ubiquitous Mexican restaurants that place salsa on the table, and I will say I missed it and didn't want to have to spend $3.95 for salsa. There were a couple of times when I would have liked to dip some of the meat into a sauce/salsa. They do put a bottle of Habanero hot sauce on the table when you sit down. The entrees tonight were good, but if you want to try the fire grilled meats, for value I recommend the Platter for 2.

To begin, I ordered the 8oz guacamole with freshly made crispy tortilla chips. For my main course, I sampled from the single taco selection: the Birria, Smash Burger, Chorizo, and Carnitas tacos. Each taco was a masterpiece, featuring a crispy tortilla that appeared to be dipped in a savory sauce. The portions offered a perfect balance, packed with compact flavors. I MUST highlight the Loaded Fries with Steak--they arrived perfectly crispy and were generously topped with steak and a delicious secret sauce. Of course, I had to try the Flamin' Hot Elote Loco in a cup. Unlike many places where the corn lacks freshness, Big Papi's elote was unmistakably fresh and utterly delicious. I'm suprised that Big Papi's isn't pushing this protein more because it's something the other taco places in the area are offering. Other places, its a bit of a challenge to finish 3 tacos with the toppings and at Big Papi's I finished the 3 and felt like I could still eat more. So while the portion size was good, it didn't beat out other places. Lastly there were two sauces included but I wasn't sure what they're base was an if they were vegan or not. Overall, I cannot complain about the food, quality, service and price. Tacos will typically run $3-$4, which is a bit standard for the area, and they are loaded with plenty of fixings. Also, Trippy has daily specials for certain items on the menu. For small place, the restaurant has a pretty extensive Tex-Mex menu, so I think everyone should find something that they'll like. Although the restaurant has some seating, this place is more of a take-out spot. One tip: I highly recommend ordering before arriving to Trippy Taco, so you can simply grab and go. Unfortunately, parking is a bit limited and tight (like most places in this area). While the food, service and prices are pretty good, I'll admit that I would not go too far out of my way to visit since there are no shortage of Tex-Mex spots in the area. But, it's a great spot to check out on your way from Point A to Point B. Usually, I visit on my way home from the gym (to undo the benefits of my workout).

As well as Tacos cost just about $3-4 each, it is a soft Taco with corn tortilla and flavorful seasoned filling, plus green salsa - that's perfect combination. I have not much to say about service, as it was a take out by online order but it was smoothly pick-up, everything was ready and packed nicely when I was arrived. The restaurant is quite tiny and old building at the back, but there are plenty free parking available around. Mainly for take out order but I think you can dine-in too - there are some seating table inside and outside. The Trippy Taco menu seem variety and interesting.
