I've been here plenty of times and haven't left a review, but after the interactive, pleasant cashier we had yesterday I thought it was time to. The food is great, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the employees are friendly. I scrolled through some reviews below mine and almost all of the lower rated ones are just of very picky people. Five Guys will probably not make you drop head over heels if you're a vegan, but if you appreciate the occasional, average burger then Five Guys will stand out a lot more. It's more expensive than most burger places, and you have to wait a little longer but the product of all your pains will be worth it once you take that first bite. You essentially build your own burger, so the taste varies based on what you choose to get; if you pick the the minimal amount of condiments, etc. then of course it won't be as great if you were to get some chopped onions on it. The fries are also to die for, but be aware that when they say large fries, they mean a whole LARGE bag of fries. For the price, it's great. For the size of my stomach which usually can handle a lot, it sucks because I can't fit that much food in me. If you're looking for an alternative to fast-food burgers or are just getting out from a movie, definitely stop at Five Guys. read more

If I could, I would give another 1/2 of a star. This place was "good"...but just not quit a fan...yet! I will go back in a month or so and see if my opinion has changed. It has nothing to do with the food being bad or anything...I had the Little Bacon Cheeseburger with cajun fries (the regular Burger vs. the Little Burger is only the amount of patties--2 or 1). The meat had very little taste however, ALL of the toppings made up for it. The lettuce was super fresh, as well as the tomatoes. I was impressed with the grilled onions and mushrooms. The cajun fries were OVER SEASONED...next time I will def be getting the regular fries. I do like how they have a Peanut Box right when you walk in...it's a grab-yourself kind of thing. I decided to give Five Guys another try, only because my friends were on their way and told me to meet them there. We hit the lunch rush when we arrived, and the place was packed with a ton of extremely loud, obnoxious high school kids. It was absolutely atrocious, and I was dreading having to stand in line surrounded by a bunch of ditzy high school girls talking abnormally loud and saying "like" and "whatever" after every other word. Thankfully, the young lady at the register was extremely quick and we were at the front of the line in no time. I ordered the exact same thing as the first time I went - a Cheeseburger with Grilled Mushrooms and Lettuce, but this time I went without the BBQ sauce. I also ordered a large order of Cajun-style fries instead of the regular fries I had the first time, and a medium soda. A week prior, I was already craving Mellow Yellow from Five Guys, but didn't have an excuse to go back until today. Naturally, I filled my cup with Mellow Yellow and we all sat down to wait for our order. After about 10 minutes (surprisingly fast for how many people were in there), our orders were called. We brought our food back to our table, and I slowly unwrapped my burger and went to take my first bite. The burger was NOTHING like the first time. It actually had some flavor to it and was pretty decent. I was impressed after being so sadly disappointed my very first time. The Cajun-style fries were AMAZING, and I would probably rate them 3.5 stars instead of 3 if they eliminated the regular fries from their menu. Overall, this experience has completely changed my stand on Five Guys. It's still not one of my top picks, but I would definitely go again if there were a lack of a better option. read more

Our whole family is a fan of the new Five Guys Burger and Fries in Concord, we have been there many times, App order works perfectly although we still have to wait a while when we get there. A couple of times the orders were a bit mixed up but we still go back. The prices of the burgers are very affordable, the kids love the state of the art soda fountain. The floors are dirty sometimes and I think they need a bit extra care. read more

These are the best burgers by far. I have been going to Five Guys in Pleasant Hill since they opened. The staff have always been friendly and courteous. Earlier last year I visited the restaurant for some take-out for my family. After a brief conversation with one of the proprietors regarding Hockey and the San Jose Sharks game that evening, it then came time for me to pay. He wouldn't accept my money. He is an old school business owner I met that night, and he bought my meal... Literally the best BLT I've ever eaten!! Soft, fresh bread, lotssss of crispy bacon and tomatoes with crispy lettuce. Grilled cheese was thick and our toddler enjoyed it. Bacon cheeseburger for was juicy and very good. Expensive but worth it! The young man who took our order was friendly and helpful! There were no clean tables when we went looking, so after noticing nobody was coming to clean them, I took wipes out of my bag and cleaned up all the peanuts and threw away all the dirty napkins. read more

Let me start by saying the burgers are amazingly delicious, you have a whole array of toppings to choose from for free - the standards and then some. The fries are good and extremely generous. The small is larger than a large anywhere. I would rate any other 5 guys I have been to at a 3 or 4. This particular 5 Guys is so S.L.O.W it is pathetic. I have been there a few times at night and it has been 20 minutes to get one burger. This is with NO line. I am sure they will get their act together at some point soon, but until then: Best Burger on Monument - great burgers, good fries, awesome shakes! Great place for burgers in downtown Pleasant Hill. An alternative to INO. Concept is similar but there are differences between 5 Guys and INO. Considering you're paying $10+ for burger/fries/drink, you get your money's worth with the fries you get. Place can be busy depending on day/time. You will either love or hate this place. read more

We were beyond offended by the dirtiness of this place! We could say the same of their Alameda location. Our last trip to this chain. Period. No tables were cleaned, debris all over the floor, piles of ice in the coke machine, and bags of frozen fries stacked up in the middle of the restaurant. Trash bins overflowing. Ptomaine, anyone? My friends had read that the burgers and fries were supposed to be great here. The burger that I ordered was almost tasteless in spite of the sauteed mushrooms and other toppings. The fries weren't even remotely crispy, and were greasy. Gosh I can't find a reason why people actually eat this food. I went to this location in particular a couple of weeks ago with a big group of friends from DVC. Moving onto the most important topic is the food. I ordered my burger with tomato, lettuce, BBQ sauce and a couple of other toppings with fries. After a 10 minute wait, I was hungry at the time and I was hoping for a good meal. Now here's where the parting of ways from Five Guys began. About halfway through my meal, I feel that after indulging the burger and fries with the soda, I felt like crap. The burger with everything that I added onto it tasted totally bland. The fries themselves (to me) tasted nearly like eating a pack of salt, they're that bad. Even halfway through the meal, I didn't want to force myself at all to eat everything because I'd feel more sick from eating a burger from a national food chain store than is very high in calories. I don't know why Five Guys even have those gimmicky signs of theirs that convince customers that the burgers are great tasting or the best whatever. This is a marketing FAILURE! After hearing about Five Guys from east coast friends and even while I was in Hawaii, it was all over the news because they were getting one soon... I was excited to hear that there was one close to home! We waited a few weeks after it opened because we always have bad experiences with newly opened restaurants. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and the line was out the door! The line to order wasn't too bad but there is about a 15 minute wait before getting your food because everything is made to order. I love that you can put whatever toppings you want without any extra charges... i went for the Little Bacon Cheeseburger "All the way" which was basically lettuce, mayo, mustard, ketchup, mushrooms, and pickles. It ended up being a big burger but very tasty. The little burger only has one patty versus the regular which as two, which I think is a little too much meat! The burger was cooked a great medium rare. I wasn't a fan of the fries though because I don't like burnt crispy fries and I'm not a fan of cajun seasoning. I know there is a lot of comparison between Five Guys and In n Out but I think they are different in their own little ways. I like both for different reasons. read more

Phenomenal burger. I ate their last night for the first time with my gf, i never knew it was there but heard on the radio how it had gotten "best fast food burger" so tried it out. This location was formerly a Fat Burger and now its a Five Guys. I came here for lunch and had a Cheese burger and a beverage. I specifically ask that my order not be placed in a bag because Five Guys is environmentally unfriendly by serving EVERYTHING in a paper bag even if the order is for dine in. The burger was pretty good, I just don't see the 5 Guys Burgers and the In -n-Out comparison. Their burgers are not even similar. If your going to taste test try a 5 Guys vs Nation's you'll get a better comparison. They burger was a bit pricier, but that's ok because you're paying for good quality burger. I liked the fact they had two kinds of fries. The Standard and the Cajun (iF I remember correctly) I would go back for sure. Like I said I enjoyed it. It tops, any of the so called burger joints. I eat burgers at least once a week. A burger is a very interesting meal because it can be fast food cheap or a good quality gourmet. I still really like Fuddruckers, In N Out, and Nations as well. What makes this place different is that its fast, the fries are excellent, its extremely clean, and the service and staff are very friendly. All of these qualities deserve 5 stars. I hope that they do well and they get the support of all the local customers. There is no drive thru so there is a lot of competition because In N Out is opening up and will be by the Freeway to get all that drive thru traffic. One more thing is that this place is better than In N Out for the simple fact that they have many many toppings to put on your burger, even bbq sauce!
