After years of hearing about the big competition between Five Guys and In-N-Out and which has the best burger and fries, I decided to give it a shot after shopping in The Collection. When I first walked in, I thought okay I'll give it a try as it looks like an old hamburger stand with good music playing, then I looked at the floor. It took me a while to realize that the mess could be attributed to the free peanuts and the messy, screaming children. While eating in the place, the employees twice wiped the table and ignored the floor. My girlfriend and I ordered a cheeseburger "all the way", hot dog, large fries and a drink and the total was $22.80 (yikes!), for that total I would expect them to bring it out and give me a tray, not throw it in a bag. My boyfriend and I love this place! We are weekly customers. I use to hate this place until I decided to order differently. I normally hate my burgers being messy & their burgers can get messy when going 'All The Way'. So I get ingredients I truly like in my burgers only. We went here after seeing them in the same parking lot as the movie theater we were at. Looking them up online made them sound awesome. Here's a breakdown of my bad experience : 1) while in line a couple walks in and cuts right in front of me and my family, found out while waiting for order that the male in this couple works there so they though he need not wait in line with the general public. 2) after spending $80 we were excited to try the burgers when we got home. I am still trying to understand what my dad paid nearly $6 for. He went and got us five guys burgers to try the place out and I am in still in shock on what all the hype is about. Pros, Cons, then summary I usually go here with my family PROS--Great food!! The burgers and great, plenty of different options on how you want them cooked, and the free all-you-can-eat peanuts are a nice touch. The drink sizes are fine too. I like the atmosphere, and the workers are pleasant. CONS--Price. It's basically the same price as a "restaurant" burger....it is not fast-food priced. Seating is terrible during peak hours at this location. Cost too much if I bring my family of four....there were many times when I would have come here, but the prices were just too much. Also, they should stay open later, at least for the late-night crowd. They close at 10, and there has been many times I'd prefer to go here after a sporting event, concert, club, etc.... The age-old debate is: 5 Guys or In-N-Out??? Well, for me, it depends. I hate to say it, but their burger is vastly superior to The Habit. Yes, the Habit has amazing, affordable quality salads but the meat you can't compare to FG. I haven't had one in 3 year, since I was spending time in Westport, CT. But it really is better. Little burger is 570 calories and 4.75. Habit single char is 3.75 and 470 calories. For 100 calories extra and a buck more, you have something approaching a restaurant quality burger. Just excellent. Three stars for decent food, but less than desirable customer servce. Usually I would rate this Five Guys as four stars because the food is good and service is decent. However, this time they did not impress whatsoever, particularly in customer service. It was my father's 60th birthday, and Five Guys is his place. Well, he ordered a bacon cheeseburger and we brought it home for him. He took two bites (which as a guy with a large mouth would be about half the burger), and said something tasted weird. He looked and realized there was no bacon on his burger and there were mushrooms (which he did not order). We figured it was a reasonable mistake and decided to take it back to get him the burger we paid for (because bacon is extra and it was his birthday dinner). Instead of it being an easy task, the service person was very rude, claiming 3/4 of the burger was eaten and that even his manager would make a fuss about making another. Kindly, he did make us a new burger, but complained at us saying how much of an inconvenience it was for him to make a new one when we almost finished the other one. It was a very uncomfortable experience, and he treated my significant other very poorly. Thankfully our other two burgers were pretty average/good for a Five Guys burger, and he did make the effort to make another for us (even though he let us know how he really felt).
