I was so excited to finally try this place after I had heard about the crazy lines and rave reviews from lots of friends. Ummm ... What did I miss? After a wait that bordered on unacceptable (15-20 mins for 2 burgers and fries? Not ok), I finally got my burger and couldn't wait to chow down on the much anticipated meal. It was ok. That's it. I was in the 714 craving a burger when came across Five Guys. Although the burger was as good as In N Out, it has its own style. Nothing beats a double double animal style but Five Guys gives you more options, such as bacon, hot sauce, A-1, BBQ sauce, grilled mushrooms, jalapeños, and green onions, allowing you to stylize your burger to one's own desire. The patty is also twice. Fries are not as good as In N Out and are thicker and greasier. Five Guys managed to lure me back three times with their Cherry Coke fountain and free peanuts. But tonight's third trip will be the last. Came in and ordered a little cheeseburger and a little bacon burger, with a regular fries and a regular drink. Saw on the screen that it was a few bucks more than usual, so I asked the clueless cashier if she made sure they were both LITTLE burgers and not regular. She said they were. Lo and behold, she hands me the receipt, and I was charged for regular burgers. Okay, whatever. Then they tell me that it'll be a few minutes on the bacon because they ran out and needed to cook more. No big deal, understandable. Finally we get our burgers... with NO BACON! I probably wouldn't complain if they were cheaper. But $19 for two soggy burgers with minimal condiments (seriously - two pieces of jalapeno and barely enough sauce to soak into the bun), one order of (admittedly large) fries and one drink, with that many issues? The food was great but the service was even better! Quincy and Jones were amazing! Especially Jones. He went over and beyond to not only make a great burger but to extend excellent service as well. We came right as they were closing and Jones was just so accommodating and friendly (even to those last minute annoying customers, that we happened to be). I suggest getting the seasoned fries they were delicious! Try the peanuts as well. I still don't quite understand why the peanuts were there but they were tasty so I'm not complaining :) read more

I got the double burger, was not happy they didn't have thousand Island dressing for a condiment. Over all I didn't like it, the fries were under cooked a little mushy and so was the bun. My husband and I wont be back. In-N-Out has them beat hands down. read more

Pretty good burger with many different condiments. Fries are fresh and very thick. Compared to In-n-Out, I prefer the latter because of the simplicity and price, but the portion size is definitely smaller than Five Guys. If you want a fresh burger with a little more than In-n-Outs simplicity and thick fries and peanuts (they give out complimentary peanuts!) and no shake, then FIVE GUYS is your place. Expect to pay about 8-10 for full meal, but will get you full!!! read more

Free peanuts to nosh on. The "regular" burgers have 2 patties. Had I known I would've ordered the "little" burger. Good fries. Burger has good flavor but the grilled onions aren't as caramelized as I prefer. The buns are too soft and squidgy. You can get grilled mushrooms at no extra cost. All & all I thought everything was good but not great. My bf went crazy for the fries. A regular order is quite substantial and they offer malt vinegar which I appreciated. read more

Five Guys.. Didn't really see what the hype was when I went to this place. If you compare it to IN-N-OUT or TKs burger it doesn't really compare. When trying five guys it kind of reminded me of a home made burger you would make in a pan. The taste of charbroiled wasn't really there. Overall the name may give the restaurant potential as I hear its very popular on the east coast, but will eventually fade as more people try it. It's worth a try as it wasn't horrible and everyone should try everything once but nothing to rant and rave about. FYI get the single burger as the double contains wayy to much meat and it just doesn't taste right. Fries are great though! I give it a C+. read more

I love their burger. I love the thicker patty with all the dressings... relish, bacon, sauce, mayo... there's just more things going on in my mouth. BACON!! MMmmm... I used to bring my own bacon to In n Out but now I can just go to 5 Guys. Don't get me wrong, I still love In n Out. I go there more often. It's a good burger... but this is also a good burger. Bacon Cheeseburger. One of the best I've had. Its a small layer of bacon as opposed to strips, which ensures you get a mouthful in each bite. The colors of the restaurant itself remind you of In-N-Out, but I think of this burger more like a Carl's $6 Burger--ie. something you might get in a restaurant versus a burger stand. Compared to Slater's, the Counter, Island's, Red Robin, I think I'd take this place hands down for the money. Something similar at In-N-Out is going to be minimum 3X3, more likely 4X4 sans the bacon. Went when it first opened on a Monday, so no crowds. I probably wouldn't wait in line for half an hour, but I do think its worth a shot. Fries--not awesome. Sooooooo, I headed down to Five Guys tonight to meet up with some old friends. 5 guys incidently. Kind of ironic actually. But me being born and raised in southern california, I have a strong bond with In and Out Burger. Nothing like a double double, fries and a vanilla shake to totally waste a workout. But nonetheless, I headed down here. I was a bit skeptical because the yelpers either loved it or hated it. I had a cheese burger with grilled onions, mushrooms and a dash of A-1. The burger was pretty good. But it definetly lacked the mushrooms. Not quite a double double though. It was still a pretty good burger though. If you get fries, make sure you get the seasoned fries. Oh man, it had a really good kick to them. I think the plain fries lacked flavor. The overall atmosphere was like an In and Out though. I didn't see the fry cutter like I'm used to seeing at In and Out, but 5 guys fries were good. Strange, maybe just strange for me, but I usually eat my fries w/ mustard and I didnt see any availible. Kind of strange but manageable. It was a good. A burger fries and a drink will cost you nearly 10 bucks though. A double double would have done the same thing for me. But if I ever get the invitation to go back there again, I certainly wouldn't say no. I could have used a milkshake though! Happy eating! read more

Burger patty akin to gourmet, French fries were so-so, restaurant was dirty! Fries and crumbs everywhere on the floor, what looked like a days worth! IN-N-OUT take heed! Your bland soggy fries are no longer acceptable & your burgers no longer head and shoulders above the rest! There's a new sheriff in town. If this place had a drive through it would smoke in-n-out! The only negative (other than no drive through) is it's about $10 for a meal rather than $5 or $6 at In-N-Out, but wow they are damn good! Try the bacon cheese double heart stopper and you'll see that both burger places are really neck and neck for the best burger in town! This place is not as great as it has been hyped up to be. Burgers are not that great...especially for the price. In-N-Out has way better burgers for a way better price. The only upside to the place is the options to top your burger and maybe the Cajun Fries, but that still does not make up for the lack of flavor. Be prepared to spend about $18 for a meal for two...twice of the cost of In-N-Out....this place is at best OK, but not worth the cost at all. read more

A friend told me about this place, comparing it to in n out. he was telling me how good the burgers were. So i had to try it for my self. The place was clean, simple menu. I like how you can customize the burger anyway you want from grilled onions to adding bell peppers they are all free there is no charge to add different toppings. I think that 5 guys and in n out are good in their own ways. read more

I will start off by saying, I do NOT care for In N Out so that you can stop reading my review now if you would like. The burgers there are decent, but not nearly as amazing as everyone seems to claim. Also, their fries are disgusting. Anyway, Five Guys is really good. - I love that I can order online and leave to pick it up/eat there at a time where it fits my schedule and I can skip the lines. - The cheese is melted perfectly which I love. I can not stand a burger with cheese slapped on last minute. - The bacon is chopped instead of regular bacon pieces placed on like most other places. This allows the bacon to be involved in every bite instead of only some. - The burger patties that I have received 80% of the time are juicy and full of flavor which is a better percentage than other burger places that I have been to. - The fries are okay. I can at least stand eating them here unlike In N Out. - They have a typical fountain drink area so that you can get free refills. read more

Great Burges but the qulaity has been slowly decreasing here since they opened this location. I know a lettuce wrap burger isn't the easiest to make but I am paying $6:89 for a burger(no fires or drink) and subtracting the bun I should get a quality burger that I don't have to put the condiments on myself. A good place for a quick bite if you are on the run or in a rush. If you a looking for a great burger and you have the time choose a restaurant or a different joint. They have good ground beef, I do prefer sirloin or other tastier cuts. It's a bit pricey but everything is fresh. I must admit their cajun fries and fries overall are superb. read more

I always leave fast food places (including In N Out) still hungry and craving something bigger and better. This place has amazing burgers. I am addicted! I love the fries seasoned or not. I am def willing to pay extra for the awesomeness...although it doesn't compare to Steak n Shake Steak Burgers from home. I've never been to a five guys before. I thought that it was pretty good to be honest. The burger tasted nice and the portions are pretty large. We ordered a large fries and split it with three people and still had leftover fries. Though I prefer thinly cut fries while these were pretty thick. The best part I think was the soda machines that they have. Usually I only see those at the movie theaters. It's pretty awesome to have a large variety of sodas with your meal. read more

Never will this place compare to In-N-Out. I was pretty disappointed. I can pay 2/3 of what I paid here for a juicier, fresher tasting burger. It took a lot longer than I expected as well, even though the restaurant was almost empty. And the fries were too salty for my taste :( read more
