This was my first time trying Five Guys and I was pretty excited to finally see what all the hype was about these expensive burgers. The shop is cool with lots of signs and posted great reviews about how great five guys is. Love the free peanuts, tasty and fresh. I ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger and it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I loved the fact that you could select the toppings of your choice. The staff working the front desk was super helpful and sweet. The salted caramel shake at first glance looked watery... but to my surprise it was thick and yummy. The burgers and hotdog reminded me of in and out burger, where you could choose your toppings, which there were a lot to choose from. The quality of meat was definitely different from fast food quality meat. The portions of fries are a lot and that Cajun fry had quite a beautiful kick. I would remind trying this place out. If you're wanting a change from Teddy's and you're in the Mililani area, then Five Guys is the place to come to. For this location I am mainly focusing on the fries and milkshakes since that's what I went for. The fries come in small, med, and large. They are a bit pricey for fries BUT they are fresh and sourced from USA potatoes! They are also seasoned well so you don't need ketchup to eat these freshly cut fries! The milkshakes come in a couple different flavors. Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry Oreo cookie, malt, and more. They're all made to order. The Oreo cookie milkshake was great & hit the spot. Be sure to get your milkshake with whip cream too! Lots of parking in the lot but it can get crowded when there are new movies out at the theater, or when it's dinner time at the Town Center. read more

After several failed attempts to dine in the new Kapolei location at Ka Makana Ali'i (always very crowded), we decided to try this Mililani location, instead, as we were in the neighborhood, anyway. Forty-five bucks for mediocre tasting burgers-- I'll pass next time! I like that you can see the preparation of your order, the simple menu and the fact that they use 100 percent beef patties, but the flavor is seriously lacking. My family and I ordered the Little Bacon Burger w/ lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and ketchup; the Cheeseburger "all the way;" the Bacon Cheeseburger w/ grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, pickles, ketchup, and mustard; a large order of fries; and two drinks. So, if you didn't already know (like me, a Five Guys virgin) the difference between the little burgers and the big burgers are the number of patties you get. One patty for a little burger and two patties for a big burger. Fries are served overwhelmingly overflowing from a cup. Everthing is packed in a convenient brown paper bag for you to carry out. My little bacon burger was assembled very neatly and it didn't fall apart as I was eating it. The most prominent ingredient was the crispy bacon, not the beef. Everything else was bland (even on my husband's burger, which he ordered "all the way"). Seasoning was much needed, indeed. The bun was extra soft, though. The burger just didn't have much flavor. The fries were plentiful. So much so that we couldn't finish it all. The large is a good size for a family of four. That, too, needed a bit more salt. They were kind of on the dark side and it got cold quickly. It's thick cut, so expect a more starchy texture as you're chewing. Drinks come with free refills. Speaking of free, help yourself to some peanuts while you wait for your number to be called. It may take a while... Aye yah, it was my first time going to 5 guys but the bf swore by it because he tried it in the mainland. So we go there and online order and I get a tiny heart attack... for 2 small fries, 1 small burger, 1 regular burger and a milkshake it came out to a whopping $37 not exactly my idea of a good time for a burger place but I could justify If the food was good. They want you to call them and they'll bring out your food to the car and they quote a time it should be done- well we called a couple minutes after it was done but we waited 15 more minutes before it was brought out... mm okay, but then the girl was kinda rude she just thrust the bags through the window and left. The bags had visible oil soaking through and we look and it's an absolute mess in there, like someone just tossed the fries in with the cup plus my milkshake was really melted (maybe that's how they serve it I guess?) but anyway we went in to ask for another shake because it was sloshy. And the girl behind the counter had a real attitude about it, she took the shake and threw it pretty hard into the trash can and re made it and just tossed it onto the counter and walked away without saying anything. You don't need to go to the mainland to have a fun Foodie Adventure - you can drive to Mililani where the mainland has come to us on Oahu... Last year, when I first visited Los Angeles, I stayed in Carson - where's that? Yeah, I didn't know anything... There was a Five Guys within walking distance, so while my roommate was still sleeping, I snuck out to get some food. I was curious and thought that Pieology was dessert, so I skipped it and went to this burger place. I didn't know about the free peanuts and the free toppings at the time. Now that I know a bit more, I scooped up a bowl of peanuts as I waited for my order during Opening Week (end of June/early July 2016) at the brand new location in Mililani, Hawaii. .. There was a relatively short line of customers waiting to enter this branch of this mainland chain that originated in Arlington, Virginia in 1986. People in line were chatting with each other, excited to have a chance to get in! They said that during the prior days, the line wrapped around the building! Being at the beginning of the line pays off. Service was polite and efficient. Ordering seemed simple and straightforward. I got the Little Fries, Little Cheeseburger (one patty) "All The Way", and Cherry Milkshake. While I waited for my food, I ate the FREE peanuts. I tried to get my money's worth with the peanuts since the prices of Five Guys here in Hawaii are higher than the prices on the mainland! Yes! Even though our taxes are lower (4.712 %), the total for a meal still comes out more - maybe 30 percent more!!! SERVICE Very cheerful and helpful!! I learned that all toppings are complimentary. Items in Black are "All The Way" (grilled onions, ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, grilled mushrooms, and pickles). "Everything" items include "All The Way" items plus items in Red print: Relish, Raw Onion, A1 Sauce, Hot Sauce, BBQ Sauce, Green Pepper, and Jalapeno. I also learned about the FREE bacon bits in the milk shake - the bacon bits won't fit through the straw, but are crunchy, fun, and tasty! FOOD A regular Cheeseburger ($10.39) has two patties and two cheese slices in between the patties. It was really moist and had good texture without gristle! I was glad they had forks and knives available since "All The Way" was a bit messy. The hamburger patties don't have much flavor by themselves. The foil wrapper keeps everything together better than a sheet of wax paper! I had fun with the beverage dispenser. Just push the button and select caffeinated, non-caffeinated, or fruity drinks. I tried almost every combination - including Peach Sprite, Vanilla Cherry Coke, Orange Sprite, Raspberry Coke, and Grape sparkling Vitamin Water. I also enjoyed my Cherry Bacon milkshake ($5.69)! Chewing on the small cherry bits and bacon was amusing! CONCLUSION I would return for a special occasion, but not as an everyday thing. The price and the distance for me aren't worth it. It's more convenient than going to the mainland, so I'm glad that they are giving Hawaii a chance. Maybe they are aiming for customers from the military base nearby and not the afterschool crowd. If I order a double or single cheeseburger, give me what I request without telling me what you call them!! When I got there to pick up, the person that took my order wasn't there. I really wanted to give Five Guys a better star rating and review, but I really couldn't justify it. Got take out on Sunday, around 6ish. Was able to walk right into the restaurant, no line! just a few people in front. I ordered the Little Bacon Cheeseburger, All In, minus pickles and fries. The burger tasted good, huge for a "little", the bacon is sorta overcooked, hard to bite in that big burger. The burger patty itself tasted good, but didn't taste like it was just made?, the fries was wilted and soggy, but it tasted like real potato and it had good flavor. The portion was perfect. I don't particularly like that the burger is wrapped in tin foil, it damages the bun, and for that price, I think it should be presentable. Yay! Our first Five Guys on the island!! What's the verdict?? 5 Stars for 5 Guys? Unfortunately, not yet. I was so looking forward to telling my friends and co-workers about how GREAT this burger place is and how closely it compares to the mainland. I'll have to put that on hold for now. What sets Five Guys apart from other popular hamburger chains should be enough reason for foodies to make the drive out to Mililani, right? Hand-formed ground beef burger patties (never frozen), cooked in pure peanut oil, abundance of toppings, Idaho potatoes, and box loads of complimentary peanuts. Sound good? Yes! But does it taste good? Is it worth the 14+ miles drive? Does the hype live up to what you've always known or imagined? My meal alone was $15.17 for a Little Cheeseburger, Regular drink, and Little Fries. Value-based pricing, so I think it's fair to scrutinize its operations. My Little Cheeseburger was topped off with cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalepeno peppers (sliced), mayo, & mustard. It came wrapped in foil and bagged with a cup of Little Fries. The cheese was still cold and firm, not melted, the beef patty wasn't as juicy and flavorful as I remembered (not enough salt & pepper?), and the bun was too dense for my liking. The veggies on the other hand were perfection. Chilled and super crunchy. I especially liked that the jalapeños are still the fresh cut type and super duper crunchy. However, was this the reason why the hamburger patty did not melt the cheese? The toppings were too cold it brought the overall temperature of the patty down? Or, is it true they cook patties in advance and not to order to keep the wait time down? Hmmm. The fries? The cool thing is Five Guys will indicate where the potatoes are from. On this day, they were brought to you by Stecklein Farms from Riverton, ID. I like fresh cut fries and because they use peanut oil to fry em up, I thought they were good! We sat inside, around the corner near the restroom and kitchen door. In that area, there was definitely a lot of movement between people passing through and trash bin traffic from the kitchen, overflowing with rubbish. Wish they had a back door for taking out trash. The table was wiped wet, but not wiped dry. Eww. Arms all wet. Napkins stuck. I had to wipe it down. Also, don't be alarmed with the empty peanut shells on the floor. This is usual. Btw, before you place your order, scoop up some peanuts into a small tray and enjoy. They're dry roasted and lightly salted. Very good! Ya know, I'd be willing to oversee the mediocre burger if everything else was outstanding. But, I can't justify the price right now. I'd rather take my family to a full service sit down restaurant at Ala Moana. Even the guy calling out numbers could have been more animated the way I'm used to seeing in SoCal. Hawaii is bringing all these mainland chains. But why they gotta put it smack in the west side? Yes I know us townies got all the good stuff already. This is the first five guys in Hawaii located in Mililani (what I call the town of getting lost, everything looks the same). My good friend Daven took me and arriving there was a long line. The line was about 15-20min wait not to long. After ordering our food, took about 10mins. Considering it was the weekend and they just opened I expected a longer wait. They have 2 entrances but made one side for the entrance with the line, I worker stands there making sure no one cuts and customers leave through other door. If you been to Five guys on the mainland, you'll know the thrill. I've been to the one in Cali and Vegas. I like to say I'm a picky eater so when they have options on toppings, I went for it. Girl at register looked at me like OMG... I'm sorry but I don't like certain things... I ordered a little cheeseburger (regular means 2 patty, little has one patty) with Ketchup, lettuce, pickles, grilled mushroom and bell peppers. Odd options I know. That's why she looked at me oddly. I also got a Peanut butter milk shake. Daven got a little bacon cheese burger, regular Cajun fries and a vanilla shake. (He paid $21.43) Price: The worst part of Hawaii... Expensive! My little cheeseburger was $7.69!! Good Lord! My shake was $5.69 (shakes are only one size) so after tax my own meal was $14.01. This is literally double of what mainland charges! OUTRAGEOUS! My cheeseburger wasn't bad, the patty wasn't hard, soft and tender. Bun was not oily, buttery. Grilled mushroom was "not" grilled it was cooked and splatted on, 3 pieces of flavorless pickles, 5 thick pieces of raw bell pepper (I like the crunch), few shreds of lettuce. Mehhhh My burger was room temperate.. not hot.... they pre-made them and waited for your toppings... No no! My cheese isn't really melted. My shake was thicker than the vanilla since it had lots of peanut butter. I liked the shake the most. We shared the Cajun fries which was soggy. We didn't finish and dumped half of it. In-n-out has their choice of fries texture in the not so secret menu. Overall what I paid for because I live in Hawaii doesn't justify what I received. $60 bucks for 3 burgers, fries, 2 drinks, and a shake?!? Oh man... I had to triple check my receipt. Living in Hawaii is already expensive, why did they have to raise the prices so high? But okay, I wanted to check out the hype on this place. I was in awe at how quickly we got through a long line. Seeing all these peanuts on the floor made me wonder what was going on inside since we were waiting outside in a pretty long line. The soda machine is upgraded and I love the feature of being able to get any drinks and refills on our own. One thing I did noticed being that this place is new, they should have had a greeter or someone who helps customers with seeing if they have any questions about the menu. It's Hawaii, customer service should be top notch! Waited about 10-15 minutes for our food which was pretty quick being that they were really busy. Got to sit down outside and literally my family demolished their burgers... The shake, hands down is awesome. I got the Oreo shake and it is 100% the same as what you can get at jack in the box... Still it's awesome yet you can get it cheaper there. Wish this place also gave out wet napkins being that it's messy food that we are earring... Location/Parking: They are located across from the Consolidated Theater in Mililani. There are tons of parking at this shopping center. Food: The Little Bacon Cheese Burger is not a little burger. It is the size of a normal burger with one size patty. The regular Bacon Cheese Burger is huge and has two patties. I love that you can customize the burger. My burger had everything with BBQ sauce. "Everything" is lettuce, tomato, grilled mushroom, grilled onions, ketchup, mayo and mustard. My burger tasted awesome! It tasted exactly the same like in the mainland. We also ordered a regular size Cajun fries. A regular size fries is a lot for 2 people. My husband and I would have been okay with the smaller size fries. I tried the shake for the first time and it's a soft serve mixed with Oreo pieces. It was a thick shake and it was delicious. The soft drinks are customizable. You can add vanilla or cherry flavor into your soft drinks. Price: The Little Bacon Cheese Burger cost $9 and the Bacon Cheese Burger cost $11. The shake cost $5. It's definitely higher in price compared to the mainland. Service: Great service! The staff are smiling, full of energy, polite and helpful. Five guys was one of my high school hot spots on the mainland. Eager to taste a blast from the past, my husband and I dined here after Christmas shopping. Value: Wow - I don't remember the price being so high. We each got a meal consisting of a burger all the way, small fry and small drink. Our total was $38, for a burger place where you aren't getting served at I feel that is a bit high. I couldn't imagine bringing a family here and dropping $70 on burgers. It's crazy to me. Service: There wasn't much interaction to really rate the service. Burger: Burger was good! You could tell the quality of the meat was good, and the toppings were fresh. I opted for the lettuce bun which was a bit messy and in hind site what's a few extra calories after eating fast food I should have gotten the traditional bun. Finally tried Five Guys! I've been wanting to try this place since the boyfriend raved about it 2 years ago when he went to Vegas! When I heard it was coming here I was sooo excited!!! There were maybe 5 parties in front of us. But there were TONS of people waiting for their food. Despite the ton of people waiting, we got seats right away! I guess everyone was getting their food to go. We got our drinks right away (a large fountain drink & a coffee Oreo milkshake). At $5+ for a milkshake, I'd pass. I loved that you can customize your mix in's but the milkshake itself wasn't that thick and there wasn't much Oreo in it. 25 minutes later, our number was called! Finally! The little burger was pretty big! My burger had around 3 strips of bacon but they forgot to put bacon in my boyfriend's! He went back and they gave him 4-5 strips! The bacon was my favorite part of the meal. It was sooo crispy! The boyfriend said its because it's deep fried! OMG! Genius! The rest of the burger was okay. I got bbq sauce and the boyfriend got A1 sauce and both our burgers had little-no sauce. Since we got sauce we didn't get mayo, ketchup or mustard. It really lacked flavor. It just so happened we ran into a friend in the seating area and got a table next to him. He, on the other hand got ketchup in his burger and he had wayyyy too much!! I guess it depends who makes it? Also, FYI, the jalapeños here aren't like the ones you get at the movies with your nachos. It's straight up raw jalapeños... Who eats raw jalapeños!? My boyfriend tossed them out. SAVE YOUR MONEY !!! Picture this: It's a Monday afternoon. The restaurant (and I use that term very loosely) is devoid of customers except for one couple and their child sitting at the far corner. Two girls behind the counter complaining to each other non-stop about their boyfriends, a concert and how they were sold a bag of low-grade marijuana. Neither my wife or I had been here since the place opened 2-years ago but we constantly heard that they were the best for burgers and fries so we gave them a try since there was no waiting line. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with NO lettuce or tomato and a medium order of fries and my wife ordered an Oreo shake. A whopping 35-minutes later (and we were STILL the only customers!) one of the girls finally plopped our order down on the counter and said: "Hey, here's your order." PRICE: $ 24.26! To say that I was disappointed would be a gross understatement. Shake: $5.69 and was extremely liquid from sitting in the back for some time. Burger: $11.79(!!!) and had both lettuce and tomato that was specifically ordered without. The burger was cool to the touch, extremely overcooked/dried out, and the pitiful half-slice of cheese was not even slightly melted due to the cold burger meat. I had to ask (and wait) for ketchup and mustard. I searched for the bacon and discovered a one-half slice of mostly raw bacon hidden under the lettuce. Fries: $5.69(!!!) for a greasy, mushy, cold, half-cup of fries! I even pulled one of the fries apart in the photo I took so that you could see the grease oozing out of it. When I took the order back up to the counter, the two girls were still grousing about how bad their weed had been and when I had the unmitigated gall to interrupt them to politely explain that my fries were cold and mushy and tasted of old grease, the girl closest to me behind the register sarcastically told me the guy that was supposed to change the fryer oil didn't do it and it wasn't her job to do his job and that all of the fries were like that, not just mine! Seriously??? Folks, I have reviewed many places for Yelp and I generally try a place 3 times before reviewing it to get a good overall perception of the place. I will not be doing that here because the customer service is worse than non-existent and the food quality is extremely overpriced junk. We ordered Little(means 1 patty) bacon cheeseburger (and yes, definitely little and not worth $10), reg fries for $6+ (generous amount of fries we thought), and large fountain soda -$3.70+ (30cents more from reg, why not, and free refill). Definitely not going back. Teddy's is much better if you wanna spend over $20 for fats food, even Jack in the box would be better. We just don't get how their fries doesn't taste like french fries that we know. McD's fries is way better! We had to have ketchup to eat them. The people that worked there were extremely nice and polite, so that's 2 positives, hence, the 2 stars. The meal was over 45 dollars, WOW!, that hurt but we are thinking this must be delicious. Wrong, the burger was extremely bland and nothing special at all. Considering it had fresh jalapeños on it I would guess without them it might have been dead even with eating a piece of paper. The fries were so greasy they nearly fell through the bag, and those free peanuts.......so stale a elephant would have stomped you out if you tried to feed them to it. Standing in line for 10 min no one has even welcomed or acknowledged me or the person in front of me that was here way before I was. The workers working the food line moving very slow, there are several patrons still waiting for their food. I'm disappointed no one has acknowledged us waiting or even taken our order. read more

It's good. Not bad. Not great. Good. I'd give it a 3.5 stars. I mean, eight dollars for a little cheeseburger is pretty crazy. I like my burgers medium rare, so not being offered the option is kind of a bummer. The burger is meaty and moist, but it's not exactly flavorful. The sesame seed bun is slightly sweet and very soft--the kind that smooshes when you take a bite. Our fries were were limp and soggy, but I did appreciate the few crispy potato skin pieces that fell to the bottom. The best thing about it is that add-ons don't cost extra. Cajun fries and regular fries cost the same. Shake flavors and toppings don't cost extra either. If you like plain burgers though, you're better off going basically anywhere else because the base price is pretty hefty. I'd give it another go sometime, sure. read more

Help Me Understand This Place Sometimes I feel like Im so late to the party. Seen these places but never bothered to check it out until a few months ago. So I walk in and have no idea what to get, go up to the counter, no hi, no hello. I stare at the menu for a bit hoping the clerk gets the hint im kinda new, but she dont even ask if I need help. Sad, I settle for a safe choice and get hambruger fries and a shake. They ask what I want with it, I reply lettuce tomato. I have a seat and wait about 15 minutes. I get my shake and have a little taste, It doesnt stand out as anything special, I think Ive had similar from Jack In The Box. My order is ready and I go pick it up, the guy who was cooking my burger hands me my meal but gives me kind of an awkward look. So I begin to think somethings wrong. I take a bite at some of the fries, not bad, and I like the peanut flavor to it, just I wish they were a bit crispier. Take a bite out of the burger and Im a little confused. First off no flavor, like unseasoned. Who serves unseasoned burgers come on, (maybe some people allergice to salt and pepper? Maybe watching sodium intake or blood pressure??) Idk, I just think it should at least be standard for a burger to be slightly seasoned with at least a little salt. Is this suppose to be what makes this place unique? Anyways the burger overall tasted like something out of a high school cafeteria. For the price I paid i dont think it was worth it. Later on I read that the main thing about this place is free toppings, so thats what I was suppose to emphasize order and maybe thats why the cook looked at me kinda weird. I guess if the draw is free toppings and you got somebody only getting lettuce tomato, youd be confused too. But they should have kinda been a little more obvoius about it or helped me understand it more when i ordered. Is it my fault for not asking or their fault for not doing a better job selling? I've always wanted to try the Five Guys. I like how there are so many choices to choose from and you get to have as many toppings as you want! I had the Bacon Burger with pickles, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, and relish. It was pretty good. Kind of pricey. The fries were delicious. Nice and salty. THE PEANUTS!! I love how they have boxes and boxes of peanuts where you can scoop up as much as you want. Might go again. read more

Never written a Yelp review before until now. So I went in at 9:40, they close at 10. 20 mins for these 3 kids to make a burger and Cajun fries, got the food within like 5-7 minutes and was just going to eat there really quick. girl at the counter asked "were you going to eat it here because we are closing soon" it was about 9:50, don't know what the policy is there but in most restaurants, you don't ask your customers if they are going to eat there or not, especially with a bad attitude. Anyways look what I got. My burger was at the bottom of my bag with fries. Just covered in seasoning. seems VERY HALF ASSED. I get it y'all were about to close but really ? kids just seemed rude and didn't want to be there, can't blame them. just had a bad experience, wouldn't recommend at all. Maybe work on the attitude and how you serve your food, coming from someone who works in restaurant industry. I love 5 Guys whenever we go mainland. However, in Hawaii, be prepared to spend a whole lot more. I'd say its 30% higher here than in California. The food is equally as good and, like the ones on the mainland, they give you an extra scoop of fries in your bag. The best thing about 5 Guys - free peanuts while you wait! Love that, because they make everything fresh, you'll have to wait awhile for your food. read more

My First time here. I ordered 1 regular burger, 1 small burger and regular fries & 2 large drinks. Came out to $34! im thinking damn this must be a tasty burger I can't wait to try it. I was tired coming home from work ready to eat so I didn't even check the bag. Once I got home I open the bag and It was MISSING my small burger really now ? In my OPINION theres nothing special about the burger AS YOU CAN SEE the bun looks soggy, everything looks like a mess. BUT im willing to overlook my missing burger:( IF it at least tasted awsome. . Workers seriously need to focus on improving their customer service skills. Asked for them to remake my shake because it's obviously been sitting on the counter for 15 minutes and it was completely melted. The employee was about to begin making a new one without acknowledging my question, then stopped and said "well it's always like that because we just put the mix in". I was expecting another offer, but nothing. I recommend making the shake AFTER you finish the food. Fresh shake mix and letting a shake sit on a counter for 15onutes are 2 different things, and either way, each should have some kind of resolution. read more

Pretty decent burger joint. The food was good, but in my opinion, it wasn't worth the price. Ordering here is different from other places. You have to specifically order every vegetable or condiment that you want on your burger. I could see that being a good option for some, but I'd rather just order a standard burger and then add on the other things. The peanut station is also a nice touch. It's something I haven't seen at any other restaurant, and it's kind of fun to make your own and snack on it while you wait for your food. My biggest issues with this place was the price. We ordered two burgers, two drinks, and fries; and we paid nearly $40. This was rather expensive for a burger joint, but I guess that's the going rate for these types of spots. read more
