Initially, I wasn't going to try this place because of the average reviews. However, my friend in DC said that Five Guys is good, and so I decided to give them a shot. What makes Five Guys better than your other burger joints is this... 1. They use REAL potatoes, hand cut on the premises. This makes the fries the best I've had in a joint - just pure potato. No covering it in flour to make it crunchier. The fries aren't too oily. I was surprised that the brown bag containing the fries wasn't too greasy, just some blots here and there. I did not feel like I was clogging my arteries, just getting full because I couldn't stop eating them. 2. The people who work here actually look like they get along and I believe this carries into how well the food is prepared. 3. They do not have any fillers or preservatives in their food. This makes them on par with In n Out but I actually prefer Five Guys because of their fries. Stop eating that McDonald's crap that lasts for five years without going rancid from preservatives. Why do you think America has a rampant cancer problem? From all the chemical crap in food today! 4. For what they do and what you get, the price is fair. C'mon, people need to get paid a decent wage and profits need to be made! 5. The regular order of fries can feed two. They fill a cup with fries and then when they pack it in the brown bag, they get some more fries and dump it on top. I was filled with excitement when seeing this. I asked for bbq sauce and watched as the worker covered the top in bbq sauce. However, I still could not taste it very well and so next time, I will grab a fry sauce container and ask her to put some in there too. I was very full after eating half the fries and a little more than half the burger. Give Five Guys a try. They are located in the strip mall right behind Mimi's Cafe. read more

When I want a juicy, messy, down-right awesome burger I can make my own. But next to that this place is the best I have ever been to(much better than In n Out but not as many variations as Red Robin). Lots of toppings and made to order so I have never been disappointed (once the sandwich came out of the wrapper but they made it up right away by making a fresh one without me having to say anything). And the fries are the only ones around that I like anymore (don't know if they are cooking them in transfats but they are THE BEST!). The only drawback (strength?) is that they have a limited menu with only burgers, fries and hot dogs (I think they were polish dogs but I can't remember - my dad got one and really liked it but I go for the burgers and fries). Just remember that they take about 5-10 minutes to get the order done and that the "cheeseburger" is actually a double cheeseburger. read more

I was pretty excited to try this place after hearing good things about it...but was disappointed to find that there are only really 5 types of burgers. They need to change their menu to: Normal-sized burger Normal-sized burger with cheese Normal heart attack burger Normal heart attack burger with cheese Burger for a Fat Ass Cheeseburger for a Fat Ass Fatal Heart Attack burger Fatal Heart Attack burger with cheese Seriously. And the fact that you have hot dogs too but no other kind of meat for the burgers is weird. Even In-N-Out, which in my opinion is so much better than Five Guys, has chicken for non-beef eaters. Something to think about: If your burgers are going to have this much grease, you'd better give a healthier option of meats. And thank you for sharing that your fries are cooked in pure, no cholesterol, tasty peanut oil. Can't imagine what you're cooking your burgers in. But the peanut oil isn't working because the batch of fries I got were so soggy and disgusting, I had to throw them out. I know when you're eating a burger, you wouldn't be concerned about being healthy, but this place takes the cake on that to the next level. Simply Amazing!!!! The cheeseburgers are so good!! Yes it's expensive, but like all great things, you get what you pay for and I must say it's worth it! Food is fine, just like all the other five guys, but the manager is an asshole. I just wanted to break a $10 bill for two fives. He refused to do it. He offered no explication nor would he even look over at me, he simply said he would not do it and went back to doing whatever he was doing. I got 2 separate orders and I asked very specifically for each to be in its own bag, they acknowledged this, and then did the exact opposite (put all fries in one bag). Additionally, 5 guys usually sets the standard for customer service...this was just average. It has been a few years since I have been here, the burgers are still as messy and good as when they first opened. Which is the point of this place. The roasted peanuts are a good touch. Something to munch on while you are waiting for your order. The fries I don't get. Granted you nearly have to order a kids portion so you don't wind up with too many of them. The available bottles of malt vinegar are a nice touch for the fries. But the fries need to not be so soggy. That is my only fault on the whole thing. read more

I have eaten at Five Guys at a few locations in Utah mainly in Orem. Went to this Five Guys today for lunch with coworkers and some things have changed since they first came to UT. I noticed that the prices have seemed to be higher than before, but the food is at least the same. With the price for the burger, fries, and drink this is not a budget friendly place. The fries are decently priced as long as you order a regular for 2 to 3 adults as the order is large. Burgers are best valued from the "little" burger side of the menu. The little burger is a single patty while the regular is a double patty. A little bacon cheese burger is the same price as a regular burger for example. I like how you can customize your burger but is not a great value if you do not pile on the toppings. When I go to Five Guys I split fries with friends/family and order a little burger with the works. My favorite item is the Fries and free peanuts as I prefer other burger places burgers thus the 3 star rating. Worth eating at once in a while for variety. read more

Five Guys has some pretty good hamburgers, but I think their menu is a little confusing. First off, the regular size hamburger has two patties and is freakin' huge. Who would consider this a regular size hamburger? I'm pretty sure it's just a clever marketing technique used to coerce people into paying more for something that is "regular" instead of "little" (Little is their one patty hamburger). Their fries are pretty good imo, probably better than In-N-Out, but if you order fries be prepared to feed a small army. They fill a plastic cup with fries and then place it in into a large paper bag and put even more fries in it. To be honest, I don't know why they give you the plastic cup. Maybe to scoop out the fries? This place is probably twice as expensive as In-N-Out, so it's not gonna win me over. read more

I love the burgers here! They are nice and juicy, and they pile on the toppings! I highly recommend the Cajun fries, they are fantastic! Well seasoned, and the fries are very good! However, be sure to eat them up quick! Once they get cold they can get a bit soggy.. My only complaints are: 1. The service is a bit slow for a burger joint, even when they're not busy. 2. It is a bit pricy for just a hamburger, fries and a drink. I am a fan of all the complimentary peanuts they have to eat while you wait for your order though! I love five guys burgers and fries and this location was no exception. I love that you can load your burger with tons of toppings at no extra charge, which give you a slightly different taste each time. In addition, I get away with ordering the Jr size burger because I think it's filling enough once you add all the toppings. I love that their fries are freshly cut and fried in peanut oil - they just taste better to me. Their fry port, portions are pretty big and I usually end up splitting a large with my husband. They got 4 instead of 5 stars because the place was super quiet and our service was so slow. I felt like they were goofing off instead of putting burgers together. If I'm craving a burger, this is usually my first choice (Crown Burger is 2nd). Five Guys offers a flavorful, juicy burger, formed from non-frozen, non adulterated meat the minute you order and thrown on the grill. The result is a tasty, moist patty to be dressed up with as many toppings as you like (all are free except cheese and bacon). The grilled onions are yummy. Personally, I go for the junior burger as it really is a regular sized burger and more than enough for one adult--especially if you throw in a small order of fries. "Small" here really means "regular" or "large." The fries are large cut and golden brown--I like them better than Tony's or In & Out's. The service is friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is casual and sometimes noisy, and classic rock is the background music. My boyfriend picked up some food from here on the way home I ordered a cheese burger and Cajun style fries. The burger was good as always but the fries were disappointing. I should have known better. I can see what they are doing they have a great business plan, keep the menu simple and easy to order from. I like the idea. The place was busy but I didn't have to wait long. As this was my first visit I was not aquatinted with the portions, I ordered a little bacon burger with mushrooms, hot peppers, lettuce, pickles, ketchup and a large fries and a drink. The food was hot, fresh and tasted really good. I love fresh cut fries. I was disappointed in the size of the burger as It was $4 I couldn't eat all of the large fries but for $5 it should have fed at least 3. I've eaten at Five Guys locations all around the US. It is a good chain-made second choice to the mom and pop burger joints I grew up on in North Carolina and South Carolina. I've seen a few reviews comparing Five Guys to In-N-Out which I think is wrong. Granted if you are "just" comparing hamburger joints then fine, but that's like comparing Taco Time to the Red Iguana. Five Guys is a gourmet burger restaurant comparable to Red Robin - but a lot tastier. Also, who complains about having too big of portions nowadays - especially in Utah, the land of the 32/48 oz big gulps that everyone LOVES to drink? I do consider their burgers to be among the best I've ever had from a fast food joint. Certainly better than In & Out Burger and The Habit burger grill and any of the other mom & pop 'Utah Charbroiled Burger' with their fry sauce and green jello places. (Not as good as Texas-based Whataburger). I like using the online ordering app but usually have a problem with the restaurant not actually receiving the order. I've eaten at many 5guys locations, including original Northern Virginia locations in Alexandria and Arlington. Unfortunately Layton did not live up to other 5guys, even in airports. I watched the grill man smash the heck out of the burgers, and they came out dry and super thin. When I pointed that out, I was told "that's the way we're trained". Yum yum yum! Delicious burgers! The cheeseburger comes with two patties and two pieces of cheese so it's nice and big. It comes plain and you choose from the list of toppings what you want in it. Quality is consistently good (unlike other non fast food burger joints in the area) so I come here when I want a real burger without having to go to a sit down restaurant. We love this place! It is a little pricy, but the meat is fresh ground, the fries are REAL potatoes, and if you have them with the cajun spice, you will be in heaven! Add a cherry coke, and it's perfection! This is the closest that I have found to a home made cheeseburger in the area! We love it! The kids ask for it constantly- over McDonalds!! I haven't tried the hot dogs or the salads though... so keep that in mind. read more

I usually love Five Guys! I eat at other locations and the food is amazing, and the staff is usually quick, friendly, and fun! Recently went to this location and it was none of the above! I walked in and the girl at the register was just sitting there talking to a friend I had to stand and wait 5 minutes before she finally decided to tell her friend "I guess I better help this guy".. Finally took my order and the guys cooking finally came out to cook the food but than sat and talked.. It took almost 10 minutes to get my food with no one else even in there because the staff was just sitting there talking.. The food was normal Five Guys but the service at this location was horrible! It will take a lot to get me to go back to this location just for that reason! read more
