Hangry Dog is definitely a true "hole in the wall" tucked behind the Sunco gas station in a rundown area, with the remnants of an old grocery store next door. But don't let that fool you -- the food is the real star. The Hangry Dog itself was terrific, and the Chili Dog and Sonoran Dog were both solid, with freshly prepared french fries. They have a selection of canned and bottled sodas, though none of them were cold. Service was quick on a quiet late Sunday afternoon. I like to try local out of the way places and after visiting the Hill Air Museum we found ourselves on the way to antelope Island, hungry and wanting something to eat. I checked out trusty Yelp and this place was kind of on the route cute little out-of-the-way place on the corner of a strip mall. I was hoping for inside seating but it's more of a grab to go place. They did have bistro table with two chairs out front which was nice so we use them. Hubby opted for the hangry dog and I chose the Chicago and we added a small fry. Great hotdogs they are fat and juicy. I enjoyed it very much and really hit the spot. They pack them in a nice container too so if you're planning a picnic or eating on the go I'd ask for a fork too they are loaded and kinda messy so plan accordingly. I have been going to Hangry Dog since it opened the first day; the food is delicious, and fresh and you just love the vibe when you are there. They have grown since the first day they opened, they used to only have a hand full of items on their menu, but now they have expanded and have added more than 30 different items. Their hot dogs are my favorite, they are all beef and you have a few different options; I love that they have the Mexican bacon wrapped hot dog as well, it's One of my favorites. Something else that I love is the chilli they make some really good chili and I love chilli akd It's hard to find good chilli. So if you love chilli like it do you much stop by and try theres. The nachos are also really good and I like getting mines with chilli and cheese and peppers. It's really good. The customer service is always great, everyone treats your like family and they remember you and your favorite foods and order. I really like that about them. I also love that they talk to you like a person and not just some regular old person. Great place and I definitely return because of all the love they give you. The ambiance is very nice and small and just makes you feel like you are at a family dinner and or gathering, it gives great vibes and i love how they have upgraded the inside. Hangry Dog is no longer on my take out menu!As a local customer, I'm always in support of small businesses, but lately, there has been an influx of local businesses increasing prices and lessening the portions. Today, I ordered large steak fries for $16. Ouch, but I don't mind paying for quality food and service. However, upon inspection, this has been the smallest portion I have ever received for this absurd price. To top it off, I asked for extra sauce, and I was told that I could only get one for free. Very definition of a hole in the wall. Very small it's a taco/ hotdog cart with walls. Yes there's a table but no one can sit at it as it's also where the line stands. Most order their food and go back to their car to wait for it to cook. There's only two guys working so it took a about 15-20 minutes to prepare. But the wait was worth it as the tacos were really tasty. A little on the expensive side, thus 4 stars. I ordered the classic dog and the chili dog and a small order Philly cheesesteak fries. The dogs were quite good (pro-tip, you may need to use a knife and fork). I added raw onions and jalapeños. This place was absolutely amazing! After reading all the good Yelp reviews, we decided to try place...and we are soooo glad we did. It's an itsy bitsy place on a strip mall behind the Tesoro gas station. Blink and you'll miss it. They've got a big cow bell that rings when you walk in and the sweetest lady comes to greet you. We already eyeballed the menu on Yelp, so we knew what we wanted. We ordered quickly and they started cooking right away. The smells from the kitchen were to die for! It made us that much more excited to try the food. The food didn't take long at all and we were on our way. The lady gave us 3 green sauces in little containers before we walked out the door. We decided to eat our food in a nearby parking lot. Thankfully she provided us with forks, knives, and plenty of napkins. My fiancé and I started with the Hangry Taco. The carne asada was so flavorful!!! We smothered our tacos in the green sauce (that has a tiny little kick) and inhaled them. There was no one in line so that was nice, got right in and ordered the Hangry dog and a sweet and spicy pork Street in Taco. The hot dog was awesome from the soft burn all the way down to the all beef dog. I couldn't taste much of the bacon but I think it was wrapped around it somewhere. By default you get mayo, mustard, and ketchup - I got it all this time and it was a wise decision. The onions and green peppers complemented the hotdog well. The fries looked amazing but I didn't feel like fries today - on my list next time. The sweet and spicy pork taco was pretty good. I wouldn't call it spicy though. They did give me some spicy salsa though which was great for me, it had the perfect heat. We loved our food! We got an angry dog and 6 quesabirria tacos and two consumes for two adults and a toddler. Everything was delicious. It's a local owned/local business to the Sunset community. Have been coming here for about a year now. They are always quick, during the times I usually go and even more so if you call ahead. My favorite things here are the street tacos, fry's and on occasion their original hot dog with the mayo,mustard and ketchup. Never had a wrong order or anything missing. The workers are always so friendly. I'm content with the amount of sauce they give out as a little goes a long way. So don't let a previous review shy you away from at least trying this place out! We got the Sonora Dog, Devil Dog, carne asada tacos, and carne asada fries. Their flavors were beautifully layered and portion sizes were large. It's not often that every single menu item you try is good.
