Like first they don't acknowledge anyone, I came a little late for my order and I was just ignored and had to wait for everyone's order in the store to be ready before even being acknowledged when my food bag was already already and put off to the side?Like they could've just asked for my name but no, incompetent ass workers honestly and I mean that with all offense. Extremely slow service. Restaurant was empty and it took them 15 minutes to prepare a burger and fries. You'd think in that amount of time they would have cooked the fries properly. They were soggy and limp, and I had to send them back to get them remade. Wouldn't come back to this Five Guys location. read more

This place is great. Their food might be deadly, but you'll die happy. The staff was friendly and helpful. I really liked the fact that I could order online and then come pick it up. Not to mention this place is right next to a nice ice cream joint, so there's two ways to die happy right there. I primarily get the burgers and cajun fries when I go there. Great burgers and tons of delicious fries. This is everything I wish in-and-out was. The burgers are way bigger, the fries are natural cut and there are plenty of toppings. I'm happy a 5 guys has made it to Hayward I just need to make sure I don't eat it too often. I agree with other Yelpers the place is a bit messy. By far the best burger anywhere. Dead serious. Haha. They always deliver on taste and quality. They cook it to perfect and there cheese is really good. Self service drinks and peanuts haha. Me and my husband were first timers at five guys and I have to say it was pretty delicious but the size of the burger only tickles your stomach, meaning we didn't get full, haha. Overall everything is fresh and I believe my appetite for burgers is complete. read more

I went in today and a young man was taking my order when I hear the manager in the back yelling at unemployed. I hear a very loud cursewords a very disrespectful language it made me and the whole store feel very uncomfortable he's very rude to the employees they are just kids no matter what the manager should never speak to an employee or a person like that. No milk shakes are you kidding me!!!! Who the hell opens a cheeseburger chain and only serves soda as an alternative drink?? Who drinks soda these days??? For a fast food place the burgers were quite expensive. They were good, not great. You'll get more bang for your buck at In and Out burgers. Two double cheese burgers, two orders of cajun fries cost us $25.00. That's without drinks. The same exact thing at In and Out including two delicious milk shakes only ran $15.00. read more

I don't understand all the hype.. I came here for lunch today and it's nothing spectacular.. In fact I could probably make something more original with my grill at home.. While these aren't the worst burgers they're also not very distinctive.. I didn't notice a difference between here and the millions of other burger places out there.. One thing I did like about this place is that all the burger toppings are free because normally you would pay extra for something like grilled mushrooms.. The most disappointing part of my experience was that they didn't have any ranch to go with my fries :/ I was told that the regular sized fries were enough to feed 2 people but it was definitely way more than that.. I don't think we even got through half of the order! The next time I'm starving and there's a Five Guys around I wouldn't mind stopping in for a bite, but this is definitely not something I would crave for or find memorable.. read more

I got a cheese-burger & it was okay , I was so excites to try this place especially reading all the yelp reviews , but it was a fail for me , this place is not special at all. & they are way to expensive , u have to buy everything separate so it adds up fast. read more

Love this place. The toppings alone won me over. Who else offers jalapeños as a topping? Sour cream? One generous order of fries is enough for my whole family. The burgers are huge. Not a burger fan? They offer hotdogs and grilled cheese sandwiches too. We drive from Alameda. It is worth the trip! read more

Honestly anyone that thinks that in n out can beat a bacon burger w/ grilled mushrooms and bbq sauce is out of their mind. Maybe more pricey but five guys will always be better than in and out in my opinion, they just have so many better options and the burgers always taste more fresh. My girlfriend and I ate here A couple of weeks ago. I ordered 2 small cheeseburgers and they gave us 2 normal cheeseburgers. They were quite costly so I felt inclined too take extra peanuts which I assumed were free. I couldn't take enough to balance the scary total.The hamburger was decent. I think two guys could have done the same job. It seemed to me this place was copying In and Out burger with out copying the semi-low price. I will not eat here again,I may stop in for peanuts.I hope I don't get caught. read more

You either love this place or you get into your jaded In n' Out attitude and hate it. I LOVE IT. It's quick, flavorful, and your taste buds will go nuts. I'm glad Hayward/San Lorenzo landed a much needed burger joint. Sam's is good, In n' out is alright, but this place beats them both. Order the regular cheese burger with onions, A-1, BBQ, cheese, ketchup, and mushrooms. The only think this place lacks is a nice side of ranch for those amazing cajun fries and a few shakes. read more

Love this place and come here often. Everyone is very nice and helpful. Tons of food and free peanuts, as it is with every location. I like this location because it's right by Target as well. Love putting malt vinegar on my burger and fries...yummy and unique to 5 guys. I like it better than In n Out but I think I have ODd on In n Out over the years before 5 guys arrived. read more

Oh My God, sooooo guuuuuddd. Meat quality is top notch. Always fresh, never frozen. Melts in your mouth. In-n-Out cannot compare as their meat is thin and hard like a hockey puck. Come try Five Guys if you like guuuud food. Yum! read more

Burgers were small, service was slow, and for 4 people to eat it cost over 50 dollars, for that price I would expect this establishment to be much cleaner than it is, employees are playing on their phones instead of working "being the reason it took almost a half an hour to get 4 burgers, NEVER coming back again. read more

I love the idea of Five Guys. I love the idea of the peanut oil. I love the giant bags of nuts for people munch on. What I do not love is the giant grease ball of a burger and grease ball of the dish of fries. I never feel good after eating here... and yet I go back time and again. I really like this place and its in a great location..right down the street from me! its always packed but I dont mind for a change in pace in burgers..I wouldnt eat here everyday but when Im looking for something other than In and Out or the typical fast food burger, Im glad I know I can come here. I'm writing a review on this Hayward listing since I don't see a listing for the Alameda location which just opened recently at South Shore center. Overall it was just ok to me. Nothing special. It reminds me of Nation's but to me Nation's is better, not to mention In-n-Out. read more

When I needed a burger fix I would go to In-n-Out or Val's, now I go to Five Guys. The meat in their burgers is high quality and has a great beef flavor. There's too many toppings to mention, but I like mine with extra mushrooms and extra grilled onions, cheese and bacon, and that's all. The fries are made from real fresh potatoes and a small is enough for two people. They serve Mello Yellow in their beverage bar a childhood favorite that I haven't seen anywhere else. This location is never too crowded, so seating hasn't been a problem and they keep it pretty clean. I really like that the kitchen is open so you can see the workers making your food. Free peanuts while you wait. Move over bland and boring fast food burgers, Five Guys is changing the playing field. No drive through, so 1 star off for that. read more

This review is STRICTLY for this establishment. Yesterday both my husband and myself were attending a family reunion at Kennedy park across the street from this fast food restaurant. If you have ever been to this park you will know that parking can be really rough, so the best option is to park in the parking lot across the street. My sister in law was pulling out of her parking spot and a white Tahoe that was speeding almost crashed into her. When the situation was addressed the driver, who was an EMPLOYEE at this place began to scream and yell and cuss at her. My nephew who is her son and not to mention an 11 year old child came out and said that was his mom. The "man" then turned his attention to my nephew and said "I don't give a F***!!!" are you kidding me????? The "man" then went into work for his shift. My husband walked over to talk to the employee in a very calm manner and the employee said he was the one that did it. The "man" clearly didn't want to talk about his behavior or give an apology. My husband then left, about 30 minutes later the police showed up. They came over to talk to us and informed us that the manager called and said people were trying to jump over the counter to fight an employee. Really? The police were really awesome and totally understood where we were coming from on the situation. So I thought I would go ahead and write this review so you all know to not eat here. Their employees will first try and run you off the road, then cuss your CHILD out. read more

Wow...after reading some of the other reviews here, I feel like my family and I got lucky! My kids LOVE Five Guys, so we decided to stop in on Saturday afternoon. Previously, we had only been to the one at Pacific Commons in Fremont, but this new one is a little closer to us, so we wanted to check it out. I don't recall the name of the guy who took our order, but he was very friendly--either white or Latino, young guy with glasses. My husband has celiac disease, and this guy even double-checked with a manager just to make sure there would be no flour added to the fries. (My husband has actually become ill at other places that claimed their fries were "Just potatoes," but we found out later they actually do add some flour. Note to anyone else on a gf diet: Fortunately, the fries at Five Guys are fine.) Then, while we waited for our burgers, another employee asked for a cloth to wipe down the table we were sitting at. I was a little surprised since she had her backpack on and looked like she was waiting for her ride home. When I thanked her for cleaning the table and asked, "Aren't you off?" she replied that she was, but said she was a manager and wanted to keep things clean. So, thank you Erica! I can honestly say all of our burgers (and of course the fries) were great, and my chocolate milkshake was excellent too. I'm sorry so many other Yelpers seem to have had a bad experience at that location, but maybe the managers have read the reviews and improved recently. Anyway, I hope our experience is the start of a positive trend, because we do plan to return to this location. read more

Again, there are two different experiences packed in the same bag. The cheeseburger I ordered with jalapenos, hot sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion was delicious. However, consistency is key. The other burger I ordered was the little cheeseburger. Suddenly, the patty disappeared! Apparently with the little cheeseburger it not only comes with just one patty (which would be fine) but it also has to have a giant gap in the middle of its flattened, sad little self. Literally just air in the middle, like someone forgot to put in a cream filling. As my wife put it, it tasted "like sadness." Sad, because I actually like 5 Guys. I don't know that they would do anything about this if I came to them though, I haven't yet experienced them in a customer service context. read more

The absolute worst service ever!! Placed our order and waited and waited until the people next to us asked if we were still waiting and we said yes. They then told us we might want to go remind them because that's what they had to do. We went to get our money back and the manager yells at us saying he doesn't have time right now. This place is delicious! The burgers are cooked to perfection and the options of toppings, or sauces make it that much better! Basically customize your own burger to your liking! The original burgers are huge, so if you don't have a big appetite I suggest you get the mini, or little one(can't remember what it's called) Also, the fries are my FAV!! A perfect mix of crunch and soft and seasoned to perfection. Check them out!! Haven't gotten a chance to try anything else on the menu. read more
