The burgers are good... When they the order right. Problem is, they never get it right. They overcharged me so many time that I went in with a photo showing they sold me a double and gave me a single ( since the last thing I do after getting a to go order is to drive back) and the guy in the hair net told me I could have doctored it. Nothing like being called a liar by a guy in a hair net. Customer is always wrong I guess. Will just be heading to one of the other dozen places in the area that have good burgers from here on. When I needed a burger fix I would go to In-n-Out or Val's, now I go to Five Guys. The meat in their burgers is high quality and has a great beef flavor. There's too many toppings to mention, but I like mine with extra mushrooms and extra grilled onions, cheese and bacon, and that's all. The fries are made from real fresh potatoes and a small is enough for two people. They serve Mello Yellow in their beverage bar a childhood favorite that I haven't seen anywhere else. This location is never too crowded, so seating hasn't been a problem and they keep it pretty clean. I really like that the kitchen is open so you can see the workers making your food. Free peanuts while you wait. Move over bland and boring fast food burgers, Five Guys is changing the playing field. No drive through, so 1 star off for that. read more

I came here a month ago and left slightly underwhelmed. I had the cheeseburger all the way with green peppers and little fries. The patty lacked flavor and was mediocre. The fries were surprisingly sweet but still tasted good(there was also a good amount for the price)! read more

I do like the food here but I came here expecting something similar to in n out but the burger was just not quite there. I do like however how the burgers are so customizable. The number of toppings that you have to choose from for the burgers are great. The fries here in my opinion is better than in n out just due to the size of the cut. The shakes here are also very good. They have great options as far as flavors including peanut butter, banana and Oreo. Another huge deal is that you can add bacon to any shakes. If you come here you must try a shake and enjoy the abundance of free peanuts that you can eat while waiting on your meal. read more

When we heard of five guys, we loved it!! The price is little high, but the burgers and fries used to be good. In the past month this location has gone down in quality as well in cleanliness. Last night was the worst, they were out of everything and to top it of the burgers had no flavor and burned., Cajun fries had been over seasoned. I probably would've gotten a better burger at Bk. Again, there are two different experiences packed in the same bag. The cheeseburger I ordered with jalapenos, hot sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion was delicious. However, consistency is key. The other burger I ordered was the little cheeseburger. Suddenly, the patty disappeared! Apparently with the little cheeseburger it not only comes with just one patty (which would be fine) but it also has to have a giant gap in the middle of its flattened, sad little self. Literally just air in the middle, like someone forgot to put in a cream filling. As my wife put it, it tasted "like sadness." Sad, because I actually like 5 Guys. I don't know that they would do anything about this if I came to them though, I haven't yet experienced them in a customer service context. read more

This sooo beats out in and out and any other fast food spot around. The burgers were good with all the toppings you can think of. Next time I will go for a little hamburger though. This place is delicious! The burgers are cooked to perfection and the options of toppings, or sauces make it that much better! Basically customize your own burger to your liking! The original burgers are huge, so if you don't have a big appetite I suggest you get the mini, or little one(can't remember what it's called) Also, the fries are my FAV!! Probably the best burger chain that exists, anywhere. In my humble opinion it's a little better than In-n-Out, though they're fairly different in terms of taste. But yeah, their burgers are just really good. Tons of toppings, all for free, and the "little" version of their burgers is really all you ever need. Also - don't ever get a large fry, you get more than enough with a small. This makes the meal pretty cheap. So glad I moved to the East Bay :D read more

This location is smaller then the others I have been to. The service was good, they kind of took a while on our food, but most times they do because they are always busy. I really like how someone is constantly going around sweeping the floors, wiping down tables, and cleaning the soda fountain area. This location was pretty clean. Five guys is good. I love it. But this particular place ALWAYS, messes up my order. I don't go there often so I forget that every time i go there they mess something up. Went in there today and I asked for a single cheese burger with lettuce and tomato. And i get a double burger with no cheese no lettuce and mayo on it. Nothing that i asked for. I love Five Guys due to the availability of toppings and taste. This one happens to be the one closest to me, so my husband will get take out at times when we have a craving or just need something in a pinch. This location drives me mad though. My husband has a much more complicated order that they always get right, but they mess up my order more than half the time. I like mushrooms and bell peppers, and it's always missing one or the other for some reason. My husband doesn't check while leaving, so we always see it when he's already home. The receipt will have the order right usually, it's just not prepared right. Last night I got mustard and no mushrooms. I simply wish whoever was preparing burgers would pay more attention at this location since it happens consistently. read more

Service is always good. The burgers and fries are great. The prices might seem a little high but definitely worth it, it's so much food. I find their seasoned fries a little too seasoned so I either ask for a side of seasoning or very lightly seasoned. The shakes are some of the best I've had. The burgers are tasty. I like the free additional toppings, but man did I have gas and indigestion afterwords and so did my kids. My wife didn't even make it home. She had to blow it up in the bathroom at five guys. I wish they had shakes at this joint to enjoy with my burger and fries. The small kids burger is a rip off for the price. The burgers are ok.. not sure there are too many ways for a burger to taste, especially with the same ingredients.. so the fact that theirs costs more?? Also I've only had the cajun fries so I can only speak on those but if you dont eat them all at once, forget about it. They are so dry later on/after reheating, its not so good anymore. I only come here once in a while but when I do I really enjoy coming here. Customer service is tiptop and the quality of the food is superb. There are ample choices to custom tailor your burger and serving sizes are big. They keep the place clean and presentable throughout the day. Wow this place was busy only an hour after they opened, so get ready for an experience once you get here. First you order your style burger, toppings are all free so you can get whatever you want on it. The fries come in two flavors cajun or regular and the servings are pretty generous. I ordered the bacon burger with mushrooms, onions, pickels, jalapenos, tomatoe, lettuce and hotsauce. Yup you can get all that no charge! The burger was good, bun soft and flavorful. We ordered the cajun fries and that was spicy, and not as crispy as I would like a fry to be. Nonetheless, the place is a great addition to Hayward and I recommend this place to all. How can you not give Five Guys five stars? I've eaten here quite a few times now and the service and food were always excellent.

Mediocre. Didn't get what the hype was about. A lot of different toppings and options for your burger and hot dog, but the taste is just not as good as In-n-Out. I'd rather have that next time. read more

I've never had this before so of course when we saw it we had to give it a try since it was crackin' inside. I like the idea of how their menu is separate and everything must be ordered separately even if you want to make it a meal. They have so many options of additions to add into your burger it took us a whole 4 minutes to figure out how it all worked and what we wanted in it. Thank God the staff were super helpful and walked us through the process! I feel like even though the burgers are freshly made, I'm not entirely sure it's worth the price... but it's definitely worth an experience! read more

A bit hyped. Their decor should be more modest as all the walls scream at how awesome your burger and fries are going to taste. The cajun fries were really good but my bacon cheeseburger was nothing our of the ordinary. the beef lacked seasoning and really relied on all the toppings you put on it. My bacon was almost burnt and didn't help much with flavor. I would give this place another try with a different combo of toppings. read more

I was so excited that we finally get a 5 Guys! I wanna say that it's like, if a fast food chain married a brewery kitchen. It's more expensive than a fast food place, (we ordered a small burger, bacon burger, hot dog, soda and regular fries came up a little over $20) but it's better than a McD's, but for the price, Dude said he would've rather go to a brewery and paid more for a bigger burger, a beer, and for the ability to hear (bc it was loud). Overall a good place...I still prefer In-N-Out...but 5 Guys do have bacon...and free toppings! read more
