This burger is different than in-n-out. It's more like the old school diner type of burger. In fact, I would say it's better than most of the restaurant and diner places around. Except for a few places like Orchard's Fresh (a meat shop that happens to also sell burger), I would pick this place over Counter and Fuddruckers. read more

I really like this place. This is my place to go after I ride my 25 mile bike ride home from work. The service is very fast and the employees are very friendly. The hamburgers taste like hamburgers and not like salad dressing. The Cajun french fries are great. And I can take advantage of the re-fill drinks after my bike ride. I'm a fan of Five Guys, their burgers are normally very tasty, hearty, and filling. I've had Five Guys at many other locations throughout California and New York, but somehow this experience just did not live up to the other ones. I can't exactly pinpoint what was lacking, but it just seemed like overall, my burger was not really made with as much love. Ingredients seemed sloppily thrown together, in addition to them getting some of our orders wrong. Fries were redeeming, as always :) that 100% peanut oil really makes a difference! read more

I was super excited for this place to open, because I've heard amazing things about Five Guys! Unfortunately, my experience didn't match the hype. I had the bacon cheeseburger, and it tasted like any basic burger I can make at home (i.e. got to Albertsons & buy frozen beef patties and grill up). Actually, it was a little worse than my homemade burgers. The burgers had no taste, so you definitely need to pile on loads of condiments! The one big pro of this place is that you can order ahead online, and you don't have to wait in line. So if you wanna try Five Guys, thats definitely the way to go! Finally got a chance to try this place and was completely disappointed. The burger was bland and tasteless and the fries were soggy and gross. The food is WAY overpriced for what it is. I can see why some would compare this place to In-N-Out. The burger is juicy, flavorful, and quite huge (especially if you get everything on it). Much more meat as well. With all the condiments, it can get a tad soggy, but it's oh so good. The flavor does remind me of In-N-Out. It is, however, pricier. I got a cheeseburger with everything, a small drink, and fries for $11 total. That's about twice the price for In-N-Out. On the upside, the peanuts are all-you-can eat, which you can scoop up for free. It is not a sit down place, by the way. The french fries are quite excellent (placed in a cup), with potato skins still on them. They are hot, steaming, and fresh, and still feel like warm potatoes. For a "fast food" joint, it's good quality. The service was very friendly. Interior is pretty spotless with checkered red patterns here and there. There are bags and bags of free peanuts that fill the room, giving a slight bit of that country vibe. The music playing in the background are oldies. The interior seating is roomy, but the majority of seats are out on the patio, perhaps good enough to seat 40-60 people. Overall, I'd still choose In-N-Out if I have a hamburger fix as you get more for the buck with In-N-Out, with the right amount of flavor. That hamburgers should be blue collar, shouldn't be overly complex, nor too expensive, has always been my thought. Otherwise, I'd rather go to a fancy sit-down restaurant, get a filet mignon with red wine. read more

I love 5 Guys, but their inconsistency bugs me. I always order hot dogs here and sometimes the bun is wet and soggy, dripping the juices all over the place and unable to hold the hot dog firmly between the buns. It sounds wrong, but you know what I mean. The food is good when they get it right though. I give it three stars mainly because it's sometimes on point and there's always free peanuts. Also, there's a cute guy who works here, so that's one of the reasons for a third star. Is that creepy? Whatever, I don't care. But like I said before, the food is good... not great though. People always compare it to In-N-Out, but I think In-N-Out is tough to beat. This place is really greasy, too. Ok, don't hurt me...I love this place so much better then In and Out. It cost more and has no drive thru but I'm willing to deal. The patties to me are better and thicker then the In and Out ones. I love the toppings that they offer. I usually get the works. The only thing I do not like, is that squish the burger in tin foil when they give it to you. I usually never get the fires, cause I'm picky with the fries. Since I was sharing with a friend, I finally got one...the Cajun fires are freaking good. I got a little cheeseburger with everything except for mayo and pickles. I was really surprised, because it was really good! The patty was very flavorful and the burger was pretty juicy. I like the option of adding toppings to it free of charge. I ordered the normal cheeseburger with A1 Sauce (so glad they have that as an option) but I didn't realize that it was actually two burgers. I don't often leave reviews (unless there's a coupon involved lol) but this place deserves it. Five guys consistently makes a damn good burger and is one of my favorite places. This location in particular stands out because the employees here are amazing. I have been in a few times and I have never caught any of them without a smile on their face. I don't come here often but when I do they recognize me. I work in food service and I can't say that I would have remembered me if I were them so I really appreciate that they do. But their way of dressing up the burger with condiments and such were... meh... feels like I could have made a burger this decent at home on the grill. I Don't understand the hype. Personally i believe In/Out is much better, but then again I think that In/Out & 5GB serves different kind of burgers.. Think of In/Out as McD, while 5GB is more like Carl's. The Patty here is a LOT bigger than in/out but does that make it better ...? I dont think so. Its just a matter of preference... However... Our work moved office locations and I've been driving by it, so I wanted to go try it out. I ordered the Little Bacon Cheeseburger with 6 of 15 (free) different toppings - mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and ketchup. I thought their burgers were really juicy and tasty. A little on the messy side, but still had good flavor. We got both styles of fries: Five Guys Style - which is basically plain/regular fries, but still good and FRESH! Cajun Style - these were pretty good = Cajun seasoning =) I would have preferred that their fries were a little bit more crispy - although they are indeed fresh fries, they were kind of on the mushy side. FYI - the difference between the Hamburger, Cheeseburger, etc. and the Little Hamburger, Little Cheeseburger, etc. is the # of burger patties. The "Little" burgers have 1 patty and the "regular" burgers come with 2 patties. This place is on the pricier side for fast food, but overall a place I would go eat when I am near one/in the area. read more

Was looking for a good burger. Came to Five Guys. Restaurant was fairly empty at the time of day I came in. Staff was on hand ready to go, a cook even got my burger started before I ordered. 1st I will say they don't have combos (burgers with fries and drink), so don't say what burger you want and ask to make it a combo lol, everything is ordered separately. I will also mention that I ordered the smallest order of fries that they have but I probably got enough to feed 2 to 3 people (much bigger than the large fries you get from Burger King or McDonalds). They have plenty of toppings for they can put on burgers and the soda machine is very nice with the touch screen and variety of sodas you can pick. I did pay more compared to other places but I feel it was worth it. Customer service was good and restaurant was clean. I look forward to going back to try some new combinations with all the toppings they offer for their burgers. If you are looking for a good tasting burger then this place should be on your list. read more

Simply put: good but expensive. First time coming here, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was good, but my total was $8.50 for nothing more than a cheeseburger. Tasted alot like In-N-Out but for twice the price. Although the burger wasn't bad, personally i dont believe its worth the money. It kind of bothered me to find out they dont offer any combos, and everything is sold seperately. So basically for a typical meal of a drink, fries, and burger, it would cost around $12 or more. Im a broke college student so i doubt ill be paying that again anytime soon. read more

I'm an enormous fan of five guys, place is fantastic! The hey have great food, especially they're Cajun fries and burger combo. I don't get anything particularly eclectic or different, but that's because the burger and fries combo is just so damned good! Apart from the fact that they're food is great, the service here is awesome. Everyone I've had the pleasure of speaking to here has been helpful, kind, down to earth, and hard working. Casey especially (forgive me if I've misspelled her name) has been particularly helpful. She has always been kind, helpful, and extremely hardworking. I eat here often, and I have NEVER seen a time where she wasn't busting her azz to get things done, even when I'm the only customer in store. Keep it up girl! The ONLY down side to this place is the cost. It's not a cheap "fast food" but it definitely makes up for that with quality of ingredients and character. read more

Went to "5 Guys" for the 2nd and 3rd time and it is much improved. Burgers were fresh and juicy and gone are the screaming workers trying way too hard. Complimentary peanuts are a nice touch. The price is still a little too pricy, but if a party of 2 shares a small order of fries, it's reasonable. Don't try and compare to In-N-Out because it's not the same product. read more

I think they get a bum rap because too many people compare them to in n out. It's their own fault for using similar colors etc. But I wonder if those people were to judge this on it's own if they would rate it the same. In n out is 5 stars always. They are untouchable. It's not fair to give 5 guys a super low rating because they are not something they are not, or because people are disappointed they are not an exact clone of something they like better. The burgers and fries are better than most places and worth a try. But if you are looking for in n out, go there instead. read more

Contrary to some of the previous posters I thought the burger and fries were excellent. And yes I am going to say it - better than In-n-Out. The burger is similar size to In-n-Out and I like the large choice of condiments. I always add A-1 to my burger at home but not here, it is on the menu! While the burgers are pretty comparable, what sets them apart are the fries. They are excellent and frankly, In-n-Out's don't come close. I will definitely be back. read more

I visited Five Guys a few times with my dad and once by myself since I was craving for it. What I like about this place is the overwhelming amount of choice they have for burger toppings (all of which are free), the juicy burgers themselves, their peanut oil fries (which lend a neat flavor to them), and their relative transparency about their food. Although their food is good, it's not ideal. The burgers feel as if they'll fall apart and the buns seem to disintegrate a bit too soon. Their thick-cut french fries don't really come out crisp or firm, making them less of french fries and more of fried potato sticks. Also, compared to other burger joints, their food is a bit pricey. Five Guys is good for what they serve, but they won't edge out In-N-Out as many critics seem to do so in their comparisons. Still worth checking out if you want to try something new in the burger department and if you're willing to spend a bit more than usual. read more

I've had 5-guys just couple of times at other places, so I wanted to try this place. I already know they have free peanuts. My son is allergic to peanuts, but we thought we just sit outside, even though I had peanuts, I didn't allow my son touching it. Well, he came home with rash. After a little bit TLC, he was fine. I don't recall the other couple of times we went to other 5-guys that he developed reaction to peanuts. So it got me thinking, there are people (kids and adults) who are allergic to peanuts. 5-guys business model basically eliminated those potential customers. Now to the food. Actually, the burgers were also not as tasty or flavored as I recall from other 5-guys. It was still good size with 2-patties, but the flavor just wasn't there. After learning the history of the Hamburg joint called five Guys, I was anxious to try. It's been several weeks so I finally decided to go after work to the closest one from my job. The map quest suggested I drive to the Fullerton location. Got there and couldn't believe how it looked from the outside. Opened the door and unfortunately the appears got worst. The place was a mess, dirty tables and the two workers behind the counter looked exhausted and over worked. I ordered online so it was too late to cancel my order and I had driven 8 miles to pick my order up. I won't elaborate on how awful the burger was. I ordered Cajun fries which were completely over seasoned, high blood pressure fries is what they serve there! My advice, stay away from the place. Hopefully not all FG are like this! Not sure who's responsible for the location. They should be fired. What a dump and clearly the words out on this place, only two people two customers there! read more
