Five Guys has replaced In N Out for me, for a fast burger. I work in the area, so I stop here on occasion. I tried Five Guys in TO when it was brand new in the area, and it has definitely grown on me since then. The only thing I dislike about Five Guys is their fries. Ok first of all this five guys is in the same eating area as whichwich, Pizzarev, rubios, sabra grill, etc at 469N sepulveda which is the east side of the street, parking is behind. I am a diehard cant find another burger better then in-and-out fan. I just tried the little cheeseburger and little fries. Verdict??? Well not bad, i was digging it in its own way which was called "all the way". It was friggin delicious! And pretty huge, get a little burger for most people. The all the way is ketchup mayo lettuce tomatoes krinkle cut pickles grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. The fries are skin on and have that extra flavor thats not there from unskinned potatoes. Everything made fresh it was great! Why not 5 stars? Well they give you free peanuts, then why??! I think price. 10 for a cheeseburger and fries and they do give you a lot and i was stuffed but its still a lot, With soda and itd be a 5, yes i admit this burger has its own niche and not comparable to a simpler in and out burger. The good: The food was not too bad. The burgers were above average and the ingredients were fresh. The beef used in the burgers were delicious and the bacon was crispy. The fries were very crispy and hot. The Bad: This is one of the noisiest restaurant I have ever been to. The people preparing food are only a few feet away and yet they have to yell every order with background music blasting at high volume. It is not a very large restaurant, so the yelling was unnecessary. In fact, when they do use the PA for announcements, the volume was lower than the yelling. Every few minutes, the people preparing food yell out incoherent instructions to each other. They should at least have a glass to separate the food preparation from the dining area. You can see people yelling over the food preparation table and practically spitting over the burgers at various stages of preparation. The dining experience was very bad due to the excessive noise. I understand some restaurants want to differentiate from others, but this restaurant has a very weird way of delivering their food. All food are packaged in a small paper bag regardless of whether you are dining in or taking your food to go. It would be very nice to have a typical tray to carry the food. Instead, you have to rip the bag open and use it as a place setting. I don't know if all the other chains have this issue or just this place, but that is not a good way to have customers dine in your restaurant. Providing eating trays for customers is not an unreasonable demand. The other minor nitpick is with how the fries were served. Instead of typical fry holder, they use a paper drinking dixie cup. It feels very low class to have fries served on a paper cup. The prices were a bit higher than most other similar fast food restaurants in the area. A double cheeseburger with bacon, fries and a small drink will set you back at least $12. The owners of this particular restaurant have to sit down and experience from the customer's point of view. The noise combined with the other inconveniences results in a poor overall experience. Personally, I will not come back to the restaurant unless the issues are resolved as soon as possible. Word of mouth travels quickly in the area and can easily influence the success of the restaurant. There are plenty of competition across the street and two In-and-Outs Burgers are within a mile or two away. I would love to come back and try again if changes are made. read more

Love, love, love their food! Big, juicy burgers, best in town, make this girl's mouth water just thinking about them! Not a huge fan of their fries but they will do (and honestly, a burger is so much food you probably won't need the fries). The decor is ok, typical burger joint, but I'm not going there for the ambiance. The service is pretty good too, nothing extraordinary, they get the job done. They are more expensive than other burger joints but the food is much better too, and I think worth it. I was at this five guys today and I saw a gentleman behind the counter who in my mind a treasure for your store. I found out his name is Ernie and I never seen an employee love his job as Ernie seems he had a nice word for every one picking up their food and a big smile each time. Mid afternoon, not busy, servers seem to be enjoying themselves with 'antics and guy play' usually not a problem...I ordered a cheese burger...with mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, ketchup, extra A-One Steak sauce ... not rocket science... what do I get? A cheese burger on a stale bun... missing mayo, missing pickles, missing A-One sauce .. . [ It was a take-out order.. didn't discover this till I got back to work ].. I've been here before and it seems to be good some days, some days not so good.. This was a not so good day... so for $7 for a burger I think I will be going across the road to the Habit where they get it right consistently.. For $1.99 I can get a Carl's Burger on par to what I got today.... Sorry 5-Guys . Every time i come here to El Segundo the staff is amazing. And the food is too. Especially compared to other Five Guys locations (don't get me started on the Wilshire location in LA)...sitting here, eating a great meal & watching employee Curtis kill it - from the second i walked in. The best hamburger and fries I have ever had in my life! The burgers are delicious, bun is toasted, patties are great and toppings are fresh. There is no competition out there this hamburger and fries are top of the line. Cajun fries are my personal favorite. Great customer service and the restaurant was clean indeed. What I also loved is that you can get any toppings for free including extra bacon and cheese! I recommend Five Guys to all my friends and so far they have said the same things. Went there today for the first time to see what it was all about. It was good. Not special, but good. I got the small hamburger and small fries. I thought it a little pricey compared to some other places. I won't make it a point to go back. But if I find myself hungry and in the area, I will go in. Welcome to the latest burger joint in town. Located in a business park/restaurant area along Sepulveda Blvd. nearing LAX, I can anticipate this place is going to be PACKED at lunch time. There's a lot of buzz right now & Five Guys looks to be staying pretty busy. We got there just before the lunch rush. Happy to report that there are 3 Vegetarian sandwich options - the Veggie, the Veggie with Cheese & the Grilled Cheese. Free Toppings are the big plus here - I opted for sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions, lettuce, tomato & bbq sauce on my creation. Basically, its however you like it with all the standard burger toppings. No salads or other sandwiches other than 2 sizes of burger & the vegetarian options already mentioned. No shakes. No onion rings. Delicious fries that come regular or Cajun. Bf got the larger size Cheese Burger, I got the Veggie with Cheese & we shared a regular-size portion of Cajun fries. 2 can easily share a regular size fries with more than some to spare. I'm thinking the large size must feed a small family. Both of us were very pleased with our burger/veggie experiences respectively. They have their own style of burger here, slightly different than In N' Out or The Habit. I can't say that I'm necessarily committed to one style over another. They all have their virtues. I just love having another delicious sandwich spot nearby in the neighborhood. I'm not going to skimp on the stars here simply because I have a SoCal bias towards In-N-Out Burger. Five Guys is the real deal for burger lovers. A few things need to be said about this burger joint. The first thing one needs to know about this particular location is that it was built here to feed the masses of nearby office workers (mostly engineer types) who walk here in zombie horde force during the prime lunch hour. In case you don't get it, I am telling you that this place gets slammed during weekday lunch. The little burger is a regular burger, and I actually prefer it over the bigger regular burger, which is actually a double patty burger. The regular is a bit too much meat, which overpowers the other toppings you can get- mushrooms, jalepeños, cheese, hot sauce, mayo, mustard, pickles... That's how I do it. The fries here are cooked in peanut oil. The portions on the regular seem generous where oddly enough, they don't overflow the large cup the same way. I am starting to tire of the loose comparisons to In-N-Out. Herman Cain would say this is apples and oranges. In-N-Out is on the go, drive thru, road trip fare. They have and will continue to do this better than anyone else. On the other hand, Five Guys is slower, more expensive, way messier, but dare I say tastier? There is a place in this world for both of these burger restaurants. That is good news for us dear Yelpers! On the same sentiment, the Habit is still in my rotation as well! I'm so disappointed with the service I received today. I walked in and stood in line for about 5-7 minutes, no big deal. Ordered without and issue. Now here's where things have gone downhill. I stood waiting for 21 minutes from the time I ordered to time I picked up my food. The place wasn't full nor extremely busy. I watched as orders were being distributed and it was chaos. Orders came out so random. As I was waiting I watched as people ordered, received their food, and leave. Others were left with long waits. i used to love 5 over In/Out, but since living in Cali i've grown to like In/Out too so they're both 4s for me. if you ain't smart enuf to use the online or app ordering then that's your fault, don't hate on the lines. i love the cajun fries and my grilled onions and shrooms. i don't always compare 5 to Habit or In/Out cause to me all the burgers taste a lil diff, so try all three and find which one suits you best. i've never had any bad orders here or In/Out or Habit so that's why they all get 4s. 5 stars reserved for Umami. read more

Honestly, I don't know what the rave about Five Guys is all about! I order a little bacon cheeseburger and the burger was still huge. The cajun fries wee just ok nothing special about it. The regular fries are better than the cajun fries. One thing I must give them credit for is all the condiments you can add to your burger or hot dog. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered my food ahead of time. When I arrived the cashier called out my name notifying the other staff that I have arrived and told me to wait (which I was ok with). It turns out I sat there and waited for 25+ minutes. The restaurant only had 4 other customers, so it wasn't busy. I sat there and watched other people come after me get their orders before me and also saw other phone orders come in and pick up their orders with no wait! While I sat the staff kept looking at me and were not even working hard or busy ( so the wait doesn't make sense). Eventually a staff asked AGAIN if I was waiting to pick up my order. And im like duh yes! When i said my name AGAIN they said that I am here AGAIN and proceeded to grab my bag which has been sitting there and getting cold. They knew I was waiting there and watched me wait while they lolly gagged. This location had POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! And they don't care they just laughed and asked if wanted a free milkshake smh. I need more compensation than that! The whole purpose of phone call orders is for quicker service. Now I am eating cold food from FIVE GUYS which is supposed to be the fresher source for burgers and fries. They definitely ruined my dinner for my family. That 10lb anchor is still in my stomach! Yuck! I don't understand what all the hype is. The service was slow, the menu is nondescript. I wouldn't have ordered the 'regular' burger if I had know it was 2 patties of meat. There was nothing off tasting about the burger, it was just really really boring. No seasoning on the meat at all. Even the free topping didn't add to it. What it added was more mess and a sloppy burger. The fries were from fresh potatoes, but not fried long enough. So, they were soggy. $12 later, the ingested calories really weren't worth it. I much prefer the Habit across the street. I won't be going back to Five Guys. read more
