Haven't even tried the place yet but all I have to say is the service is actually terrible. When you walk in don't expect to be greeted or acknowledge. The lady helping us looked bothered asf for no reason and kept talking to a guy outside when we were trying to order. Then when our order is ready she was just like "order is on the counter". Like hello? You couldn't pass me the bag or say thank you or anything? I'm not saying to bend over backwards to customers but damn a "hi welcome in" would've been nice. Def not coming back.

Drove all the way from OC due to a friend's rec for this smash burger. I have to say I am not disappointed as their smash burgers are one of the best I've tried. My friend also got their chili style burger and that also tasted fantastic and their duck fat fries were amazing. This is a must for any smash burger enjoyers. 5/5!

I visit Hermosa fairly often, but hadn't eaten at "proudly serving." It is off the Strand on a little side street, so I never noticed it before. I was hankering for a Smash-burger, saw it on Maps, and I read positive reviews. This place was awesome! Smashburger excellent and the fries are cooked in duck fat so they were super flavorful! The service was great too! Claudia was a joy! She held the entire Restaurant down single-handedly with ease, and she still had time to be friendly and conversational. I also met Matt the owner, who grew up in New Jersey, where I am from, and I immediately knew why this place was a winner! And... They have local beer on tap. Try the Japanese rice lager. It is so much like Asahi super dry. Please check it out!

I like to consider myself a cheeseburger connoisseur I really take this seriously this was hands-down. One of the best media delicious smash burgers I have ever had. The fries were absolutely delicious. My mouth is watering writing this review thinking about how good it was lol you can definitely tell they were cooked and duck fat I got a triple smash with the loaded french fries and a Diet Coke and I cannot wait to experience this again...:) thank you you guys!!

After hearing a lot of their famous smash burgers I wanted to try it out and I was not disappointed. I haven't had many smash burgers but this one set the standards in my opinion! It was a perfect combination of pickle, patty and bun. The chili cheese fries were also great! Only a few places have it all and this one is definitely worth the try! This location is in the neighborhood with limited parking but has plenty of seating. The service was great and food came out with no delay. The staff is friendly and great to talk to. The location has tables inside and outdoor, with a nice patio area in the back and bar seating. If I'm ever in the area I would definitely be coming back.

Whoa. To be honest, we (my inner warrior + the stomach) are still processing this Doordash order from Proudly Serving because... ...guys, this one is REALLY GOOD. Still processing this order because... ...guys, this one made our achy, breaky, carnivorous heart cry, salivate or something in between. We like this burger guys. We like it a lot. Somehow, we think we might like their fries EVEN MORE. Those fries somehow parted the skies to reveal a choir of angels singing "Hallelujah" and telling us we deserve this. However, because of the duality of human nature of course, we were concurrently left pissed off while experiencing a 9th level burger high. It all boiled down to this moment of seeking existential clarity, asking ourself: "How come nobody else we have ever encountered in our 38 years on this planet has thought us worthy enough to serve us triple or quadruple fried fries of this caliber?" Also, "Who, in fact, is the real Burger King?! Does he actually reside in Hermosa Beach, California??" Our only complaint isn't actually a complaint at all. If anything, it is a personal failure on our part that we will rectify on my next order. For US, that juicy, perfectly cooked burger just needed a little something to cut through all of that butteriness and unctiousness. It needed jalapeños and, dammit, we will absolutely order those jalapeños next time! Finally, last but not least, we NEED to discuss this malt vinegar aioli because of 2 deep personal thoughts we had upon tasting it: "wtf?!" and "goddamn"... We honestly wish we could meet whichever fine iconoclast spawned this aioli. This thing is a culinary work of art...a truly paradigm shifting contribution to modern society that will inevitably be taught in culinary schools alongside the likes of Coq Au Van and Pate. We won't reveal anymore about that malt vinegar aioli. We could never do it the justice it deserves. Just go eat it and walk away as amazed and reflective as we were. Finally, to Proudly Serving, thank you forever ruining all other fries for us going forward.

Okay sooo this is like my fourth or fifth visit to this location (I started when they were inside Project Barley ) All of my visits have been good , the food is consistent and good quality , always very lively and full of locals , which I love to see. Today however was just a little more pleasant , we walked in and were greeted by Leah( or Lia not sure how they spell it ) And honesty the whole experience just felt soo welcoming because of her. She was sooo nice and personable with us and every customer that walked in after and I feel like that's the kind of neighborhood vibe the South Bay is known for Will definitely be back again sooon!! I know the picture doesn't look like much but I can assure you the foood was BOMB!!

The good: I tried a hamburger, the PS burger and a grilled cheese. The flavors were good and the menu is simple and straight forward. My toddler enjoyed his grilled cheese. I tried all 3 items. My husband's burger had jalapeños and double the meat. He liked that the burger had both ketchup and mustard. The bad: Texturally, the burgers were mushy and needed more structural integrity. I would've liked more lettuce, raw tomato and onion. The bun can get soggy if you don't eat it immediately. It's good for folks who love soft things. The interesting: They sell gift cards online and offer catering. They have 2 locations.

If all they served were their Tots (tossed in duck fat), I would recommend this place without hesitation! But along with the Tots they have several hamburger options, terrific French fries (also tossed in duck fat), milkshakes, and a decent assortment of beers on tap. They've got a couple tables out front and several dining rooms with various table-size options. They've even got a couple of pinball machines. The food is great, they're a very short walk to the beach, and their crew is incredibly helpful and pleasant. If you're anywhere near Hermosa Beach, check them out.

What an overwhelmingly great place to get a burger. My chili cheese burger was made exactly how I like it, with enough chili to make it taste wonderful without turning it into a knife and fork meal. And those smashed patties were super delicious, like a gateway to taste heaven. About the only things I could complain about is the smashed in lack of space in the dining area. Why have two pinball machines when people are lining up for table space? Make it make sense. As well as try to speed up the time it takes to go from the kitchen to hitting the table. Our meal came super late and it kind of killed the excitement. The staff were nice enough but nobody really catered to assisting with us getting our food in a timely manner. It was kind of disappointing.. But otherwise it was a fun time.

Little hole in the wall! We all liked the burgers. The tots were good and crunchy. The only thing was my son did not like the chili cheese fries, it's his expertise so I figured they really weren't to his liking. We ordered for pickup seeing the reviews about the dining space and dine in experiences. This place looks like a little hole in the wall, maybe as they get bigger and get more clientele they will invest in something bigger and accommodating. Either way, not sure I will be back.

Summary: Decent burgers, Good tots, friendly service, good seating. This place is a good try, personally for me I've had something super similar (little bit better for me). So this kinda just gives me cravings for a little more flavor. Plenty of seating (indoor & outdoor) and cool spot as a whole. Pastrami Burger: Good amount of protein, I'm always glad when a spot makes doubles as standards. The pastrami itself doesn't really add much to the profile though. 6.5/10 PS Burger: This is kind of your standard smash burger, nothing really special but it's not bad. 5.5/10 PS Tots: Honestly maybe the highlight from here, tots were really crispy but not overdone, the sauce here was honestly the best and the patty also threw in a texture change. 8/10 Note: The sauce is honestly, kinda mid. It's not strong enough to cut through the oil and fat of the burger so you don't get much from it.

I finally made it to Proudly Serving after hearing so much about it from friends. Came here for lunch after getting a great massage and early enough to beat the crowd on a Friday. I went with the PS burger after asking the guy at the counter what he recommended as a first timer. Also got the fries and a Diet Coke. The PS burger comes with double patties, grilled onions, American cheese, pickles and PS sauce on a toasted bun. I'm salivating writing this review, it was that good. I'm a French fry fiend, and these fries are the best. They're thicker cut but what takes it over the top is that they're fried in duck fat. They have three different dipping sauces for the fries (PS sauce which is a house made thousand island type sauce, a spicy sauce, which was my favorite, and I don't recall the 3rd sauce which I also liked). Sauces are $1 each, but I was compd since it was my first visit to PS. Thanks PS! David, the cool guy who took my order, and I believe is one of the managers was telling me about how good the PS chili is, and I mentioned that I'll need to try it on my next visit. While as I was enjoying my PS burger, he comes out with a little sample cup of chili with onions. The chili is all beef, and so flavorful and has a nice kick to it on the finish. I loved it. On my next visit, I'll get the chili fries. PS also offers craft beers. David mentioned that they make a beer float, not a root beer float, but a float made with dark ale. I told him that sounded strange, and I was surprised with a sample of the dark ale float. As strange this combo sounds, it surprisingly works! If you're looking for one of the best smash burgers around and best fries, look no further. Proudly Serving is my new neighborhood burger joint. Service is friendly and attentive. There's a couple of old school pinball machines. And also a small patio for al fresco dining and a few table out front. Metered parking in front and limited free parking during the day or permit parking.

Apparently, everyone else in the South Bay had the same idea because the place was absolutely humming. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, just be patient. Fortunately, we had reservations and were quickly seated in a roomy table tucked away in the back corner. It turned out to be prime real estate: enough privacy for conversation, but still a great vantage point to take in the entire restaurant. The patio out front might be even better, though, if you're into people-watching. Catalina Avenue on a Friday night offers no shortage of entertainment. But for our group, this table was perfect. The interior has a warm, industrial feel, exposed brick, dark wood, metal accents, garage-style doors, and televisions scattered throughout. Oddly, the Dodgers game wasn't on. Maybe they don't get SportsNet LA. I never bothered to ask because the conversation at our table was far more enjoyable. Let's address the elephant in the room: Friday-night service. The place was packed, and our server was clearly running a marathon. He's usually stationed behind the bar, sports a sleeve of tattoos, looks super fit, and carries a permanent smile. He worked hard all evening, but there were some significant stretches where my Ikasu Ikasu West Coast IPA ($11) sat empty with no rescue in sight. A man can only stare sadly at an empty pint glass for so long. We started with the poutine fries, crispy fries loaded with gravy, skirt steak, mornay sauce, Gruyère, and green onions. They were outstanding and disappeared so quickly that I remembered to take a photo only after the massacre had already occurred, see my picture, LOL. Our server redeemed himself with his entrée recommendation: The Philly. Thinly sliced ribeye, grilled onions, sweet and hot peppers, house sauce, all piled into a sesame roll. It was fantastic, messy, savory, and exactly what you want from a cheesesteak. My wife paired a Harmonia Mango Wheat ($11) with the Blue Cheese Avocado Burger ($20), a hefty seven-ounce burger topped with melted blue cheese, grilled onions, avocado, applewood bacon, and arugula. She was a happy camper. Our friends split the same burger and also ordered the hummus appetizer, adding filet mignon on top. Excellent call, I snuck a few bites! To their credit, at the end of the evening our server came back to the table, apologized for the pacing, and made amends with a complimentary Crafted Cookie: a warm chocolate-chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. At the end of the day, restaurants are about more than perfect timing and topped-off beers. They're about sharing stories, laughing with friends, and breaking bread with people you enjoy being around. The service had its ups and downs, but the food was solid, the atmosphere lively, and Riviera Village on a summer Friday night is hard to beat.

It's not terrible by any means, but it's hard to justify returning. The menu features some nice Southern-influenced dishes you don't typically see at every brewery. Highlights and thoughts on what we ordered: Green Beans Appetizer: Easily the star of the table--perfectly seasoned with a great crisp crunch. Other Starters & Mains: We also tried the Brussels sprouts, chipotle wings, duck gumbo, and the daily flatbread special (tomato and burrata). Everything was decent, but for the price, nothing blew us away. Famous Brisket Dinner: A bit of a letdown. It came strictly with coleslaw and no additional sides. The flavor was fine--middle of the road overall. Between two 4-beer flights, we sampled most of their standard and hoppy lineup. They clearly excel at West Coast IPAs. However, the pricing structure on tasters feels steep--$6 for a 5oz pour of their Double IPA is tough to swallow, especially when calculated to cost more per ounce than iconic Pliny the Younger, which most places charge a dollar per ounce (when distributed). To cap off the 3-star rating, the 4-pack of IPA I purchased to-go was canned two months prior. Any craft beer enthusiast knows hoppy profiles fall off noticeably over time, and a brewery should really be prioritizing fresh inventory for retail sales. Total damage came out to around $200 for two adults and a child. For that price point, the value just wasn't there, leaving us feeling like something was missing from the experience.
