Haven't even tried the place yet but all I have to say is the service is actually terrible. When you walk in don't expect to be greeted or acknowledge. The lady helping us looked bothered asf for no reason and kept talking to a guy outside when we were trying to order. Then when our order is ready she was just like "order is on the counter". We stopped by Proudly Serving after a long hike last Friday, and it ended up being one of those "wow, I'm so glad we came here" kind of experiences. We originally found the place through Yelp reviews (everyone kept mentioning the fries and aioli ), so of course we had to try them... and they absolutely lived up to the hype. The fries were perfectly crispy, and the aioli was packed with flavor. We also ordered the PS Burger, and WOW. Unexpected in the best way. It's rich, flavorful, and just one of those combinations that somehow works perfectly. Beyond the food, the entire experience stood out. The team was incredibly welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in, which made such a difference after a long hike. The space is also surprisingly large, doesn't look like it from the outside, but there's plenty of seating inside. Great food, amazing service, and such a good vibe overall. Definitely a 5-star spot. I visit Hermosa fairly often, but hadn't eaten at "proudly serving." It is off the Strand on a little side street, so I never noticed it before. I was hankering for a Smash-burger, saw it on Maps, and I read positive reviews. This place was awesome! Smashburger excellent and the fries are cooked in duck fat so they were super flavorful! The service was great too! Claudia was a joy! She held the entire Restaurant down single-handedly with ease, and she still had time to be friendly and conversational. I also met Matt the owner, who grew up in New Jersey, where I am from, and I immediately knew why this place was a winner! And... They have local beer on tap. Try the Japanese rice lager. After hearing a lot of their famous smash burgers I wanted to try it out and I was not disappointed. I haven't had many smash burgers but this one set the standards in my opinion! It was a perfect combination of pickle, patty and bun. The chili cheese fries were also great! Only a few places have it all and this one is definitely worth the try! This location is in the neighborhood with limited parking but has plenty of seating. The service was great and food came out with no delay. The staff is friendly and great to talk to. The location has tables inside and outdoor, with a nice patio area in the back and bar seating. If I'm ever in the area I would definitely be coming back. read more

Whoa. To be honest, we (my inner warrior + the stomach) are still processing this Doordash order from Proudly Serving because... ...guys, this one is REALLY GOOD. Still processing this order because... ...guys, this one made our achy, breaky, carnivorous heart cry, salivate or something in between. We like this burger guys. We like it a lot. Somehow, we think we might like their fries EVEN MORE. Those fries somehow parted the skies to reveal a choir of angels singing "Hallelujah" and telling us we deserve this. However, because of the duality of human nature of course, we were concurrently left pissed off while experiencing a 9th level burger high. It all boiled down to this moment of seeking existential clarity, asking ourself: "How come nobody else we have ever encountered in our 38 years on this planet has thought us worthy enough to serve us triple or quadruple fried fries of this caliber?" Also, "Who, in fact, is the real Burger King?! Does he actually reside in Hermosa Beach, California??" Our only complaint isn't actually a complaint at all. If anything, it is a personal failure on our part that we will rectify on my next order. For US, that juicy, perfectly cooked burger just needed a little something to cut through all of that butteriness and unctiousness. What an overwhelmingly great place to get a burger. My chili cheese burger was made exactly how I like it, with enough chili to make it taste wonderful without turning it into a knife and fork meal. And those smashed patties were super delicious, like a gateway to taste heaven. About the only things I could complain about is the smashed in lack of space in the dining area. Why have two pinball machines when people are lining up for table space? Make it make sense. As well as try to speed up the time it takes to go from the kitchen to hitting the table. Our meal came super late and it kind of killed the excitement. The staff were nice enough but nobody really catered to assisting with us getting our food in a timely manner. I finally made it to Proudly Serving after hearing so much about it from friends. Came here for lunch after getting a great massage and early enough to beat the crowd on a Friday. I went with the PS burger after asking the guy at the counter what he recommended as a first timer. Also got the fries and a Diet Coke. The PS burger comes with double patties, grilled onions, American cheese, pickles and PS sauce on a toasted bun. I'm salivating writing this review, it was that good. I'm a French fry fiend, and these fries are the best. They're thicker cut but what takes it over the top is that they're fried in duck fat. They have three different dipping sauces for the fries (PS sauce which is a house made thousand island type sauce, a spicy sauce, which was my favorite, and I don't recall the 3rd sauce which I also liked). Sauces are $1 each, but I was compd since it was my first visit to PS. Thanks PS! David, the cool guy who took my order, and I believe is one of the managers was telling me about how good the PS chili is, and I mentioned that I'll need to try it on my next visit. While as I was enjoying my PS burger, he comes out with a little sample cup of chili with onions. The chili is all beef, and so flavorful and has a nice kick to it on the finish. I loved it. On my next visit, I'll get the chili fries. PS also offers craft beers. David mentioned that they make a beer float, not a root beer float, but a float made with dark ale. I told him that sounded strange, and I was surprised with a sample of the dark ale float. As strange this combo sounds, it surprisingly works! If you're looking for one of the best smash burgers around and best fries, look no further. Proudly Serving is my new neighborhood burger joint. Service is friendly and attentive. Since we planned to go to the South Bay, I decided to look up a place for lunch and found this place. The restaurant is located two blocks from the beach. Parking is a little hectic but be patient because you may find a spot that opens up on the street. The parking is by meter so make sure you have change or use a credit card, too. When we finally parked, we walked a block to the restaurant and we were immediately embraced by the bright orange storefront. As soon as we walked in we were greeted. It was a bit busy and we noticed the burger restaurant was a bit small. When we got our order in , we got our table and began to wait for our food. The spot was pretty cool and had two vintage pinball machines to play with while waiting for your food. When we got our burger and grilled cheese, it looked delicious. My grilled cheese was yummy. Simple but perfect. I tried a bit of the burger and the patty was great. Overall, cool spot and close to the beach. The customer service was one of the worst I've experienced. The staff came across as rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping customers. Simple questions were met with attitude, and it felt like I was an inconvenience just for being there. No effort was made to provide a welcoming or professional experience. They've got a decent thing going here and have really made the most of a cramped space. The noise level from the music is often overwhelming and the food can be quite salty but that's just a good excuse to order a beer to enjoy with your meal. Have had a number of mistakes made with my orders on a few occasions, not sure if that's because it's too loud for the cashier to hear me or something else. That said the fries and tots are great, the chili is spicy and the burgers are smashed good & thin, the way they should be. I had tried Proudly Serving one time when it was down at the Redondo pier so I was super stoked to find out that there was now a larger location closer to where we like to go to the beach during the summer. I love that is super easy to take with you if we want to do midweek dinner on the beach, or there are so many fun rooms in this place if you want to sit and chill for a while. And, dude - pinball games! When I first tried their burgers, I was still eating meat, and the smash burgers have so much of a crisp on them while still being juicy and tasty. This time I went with the veggie burger. This burger had way more stuff (like I think black beans maybe) in it than I expected, and I like it so much more than just fake meat burgers that so many other restaurants default to because it is easy. Well smashed and flavorful patties with some classic toppings and their special sauce. The Pastrami Burger is good, but can be a bit heavy towards the end. Brunch Burger is good but the bacon jam is on the sweet side and can dominate the burger a bit so if you're not a fan of the sweet stuff for breakfast, probably skip. Was in hermosa today and my hairstylist recommended Proudly Serving. I ordered the founder cheeseburger and fries with a side of their ranch. The burger was everything I wanted, classic double smash burger done correctly. The bread was soft and not saturated or soggy, the meat was perfect and the cheese melted exactly how it should be. When we arrived the music was blarring loud I don't mind loud music but there's a difference between loud and blarring. Then the cashier looked like he hated his job and the cooks were on their phones and two guys in the front were just play fighting and throwing stuff over the counter. Most tables were dirty even tho they admitted being slow that day. Oh and to top it off the soda machine didn't work like any of the flavors. For the food it was OK nothing special it was small think of Mc Donald's regular cheese burger size. I got the ps burger came with special sauce and grilled onions. The onions were paper thin and very little amount. The burger just tasted like american cheese so I didnt even taste the special sauce in it.
