I got to try Proudly Serving once before when they were still at their original spot inside Naja's Place at the Redondo Beach Pier. I am happy to see how much they have grown since then - with restaurants in Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach and Long Beach. It was my first time to check out this Redondo Beach location. Just in time for AAPI Heritage Month, Proudly Serving collaborated with Filipino American kickboxing champion Jackie Buntan. Jackie grew up in the South Bay and is a fan of Proudly Serving, thus leading to her collaborating with them. The Buntan Burger by Jackie Buntan x Proudly Serving is a celebration of Filipino heritage and flavor in every bite. It has a double patty, mozzarella cheese, banana ketchup aioli, longganisa, and atchara on soft pandesal from Gemmae Bakeshop. I really enjoyed this burger. I loved how they used pandesal and how they had a lot of Filipino ingredients in this burger. The longganisa paired well with the burger patty and gave the burger a nice, sweet touch. I also really liked the touch of banana ketchup aioli and atchara. Aside from The Buntan Burger, I got the PS Fries. I've gotten these fries before and they still remain to be some of the best fries I've ever tried. The thick fries are so crisp and delicious. I am fan of the generous toppings of burger patty, cheese, griddled onions, pickles and special sauce. I love the PS Fries but definitely also want to try the Chili Cheese Fries next time. I'm really happy I got to try Proudly Serving again. I am especially glad I got to check out the special Jackie Buntan x Proudly Serving burger. So masarap!
This is a long over due review. Hard to believe it all started in a garage during 2020 and turned into the SouthBay's Best Burger place! I've been a fan for quite a while and am loving watching them grow! Owner Matt is seriously living his foodie dream. He gave up his solid corporate job and made his culinary dream come true! The new Redondo location is a great spot with an out door patio and dining room. It's bright and filled with music and even some arcade games. Order at the counter and you're give a pager for when your order is ready to devour! Today was a weekday so I ordered the PS Original burger. It's an outstanding smash burger filled with quality meat, seared perfectly on the flat top to get some of that grilled crunch. If it was the weekend, get the Brunch Burger, OMG it's so good!! I always get the tots. They're always perfectly crispy and compliments any of their burgers. If they offer a "special burger" it's always worth mixing it up and ordering it, or even a Big Fish sandwich that was available in April and was a special treat, their collab burgers like their Butan Burger which was insanely good! But you really can't go wrong with any burger on the menu.
We first tried Proudly Serving's Hermosa Beach location and have been meaning to check out the RB location ever since it opened. We finally stopped by and had a nice Sunday lunch. We ordered The Founder, the PS Burger, and their fries and tots. Nothing left behind everything was so delicious! We even tried all of the sauces. I really like this location. It's clean, cool vibes inside, parking is easy, they have a lot of seating - indoor, outdoor patio, and along the sidewalk. Service is great and staff is friendly!
Delicious smash burger. Interior is super cute and is dog friendly. We ordered at the counter and sat inside. Their thick cut fries was the highlight of my meal.
Atmosphere - No wait on Sunday at noon. Indoor and patio seating available. Street parking only. Very fun atmosphere with great music choice and there were pinball machines open for the customers to enjoy. Taste - Ordered the PS burger, Founder Burger and The Juicy James Burger. Burgers were difficult to eat. too much sauce and cheese so they were falling apart. Bun was a little too soft for my liking but glass it was fresh. Tots and fries were crispy and tasty. Customer service - Excellent! Everyone was friendly and attentive. Price - Average
These smash burger was pretty good (didn't have 1 1, but my kid did. She still prefers in & out burgers). I will say they have the best fries and tater totes! These are fried in duck fat! Who doesn't love anything fried in duck fat!?!! It's fast food so no service (hate it, that no matter where you go, on their payment machine it asks automatically 18% tip! Really for your own service..??? I am surprised they don't ask you at the grocery store if you want to tip...???) Ambiance is nothing special... Pricey for fast food.., their PB burger, fries, and a milkshake(they use real ice cream) $26 and change.
This place has some of the best burgers, fries, and tots in the South Bay! Shoutout to Valentina for going above and beyond with customer service for our large group. She was super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. Definitely coming back!
Although the French Fries are of the "Previously Frozen" variety as opposed to "Fresh Cut" and potato connoisseurs can easily identify the traits of fresh vs frozen... The duck fat fries were described with temptation so we tried an order and enjoyed it. We're not french fries food snobs, but appreciate fresh cut always over frozen but would rarely kick frozen out of bed and enjoy the frozen fry experience when executed correctly (as long as not overcooked, it can be crisp or not) with the right texture and flavor.
I've had this burger joint saved in my collections for a long time, before this location had opened up. I blew the dust off this bookmark and decided it was time to come try it. Prices are definitely on the more boujee side for sure. $14 for a singular burger is kinda insane. Especially when having to pay $1 for a sauce and $5-8 for a side of tots or fries. Anyways... maybe im not built for the boujee burger life. I had ordered every sauce to see which one would be best for dipping or adding to my burger. Sadly, none of them hit. They all were missing that umf. I don't know how to exactly describe it, but when you go to other places like shake shack, raising canes, dave's hot chicken, chick fil a etc. their sauce has their own flow and mix to it. This place just.. one slapped me in the face with the Worcestershire sauce. waaaaaaay too in my face with it. For the actual burger I had tried the Juicy James to get that classic lettuce tomato and cheese feel. It came with bacon too. I thought it was pretty solid. I enjoyed the flavor of the meat patty, it was seasoned well. The ingredients felt fresh and had a nice crunch to them. I had regular tater tots and I thought the crispiness could've been... crispier. I give it like a 7/10 for crispiness. The major problem here was it was SALTY. I thought I accidentally put my tongue in the pacific ocean down the street. Unsure what happened there really, but it was saltier than your ex when they found out you moved onto someone better. Service was so-so. Nothing out of the ordinary. The floors were sticky?! I wore flip flops and I had walked around the road/sidewalks no problem but the first few steps to the register I felt my sandals sticking to the floor. Super uncomfortable.. I checked if i stepped in gum and nope, the floors were just sticky and I later saw my flip flop prints on the floor. They have a few pinball machines by their drinks which is cute, it's different. Parking is on the street.
This place has been on my list for quite some time, but I finally had the craving. I ordered their top two popular items, the PS Burger and Fries. If you can't enjoy a fry straight out of the bag on your drive home, it's not worth eating. That being said, these were flavorful and crunchy, not requiring sauce. There was a duck-like after taste I wasn't a fan of. The burger was extremely light and looked very flat, which was not appealing at first sight. It looked nothing like the photos I had seen. I was starving so it didn't matter, but I did manage to get a photo at the end. Overall, it satisfied my craving for a smashburger. Staff were friendly handing me my pickup order. I'm likely to go back.
decided on proudly serving for early dinner over the wknd. love that they have a dog friendly patio and parklet dining.. we ordered: ps burger chili burger chili cheese tots to share i just i was feeling brave or something, but their chili is SPICY!! thank goodness i asked for it on the side. def not my favorite lol. will have to come back to try another burger, i should have stuck with what i was initially going to order, which was the brunch burger (double patty with cheese, bacon jam, egg yolk jam and cracked black pepper) service was cool. food took longer than expected , close to 30mins for 2 smash burgers and some tots.. but tots were good , minus the chili , it was just too spicy. i just ignored the chili icon on the menu LOL!! overall, it was good. they have a few pinball machines place was clean and they have bathrooms. parking: metered street and i believe they is parking in the back
Didn't like the presentation. My hamburger was really smashed with lots of ketchup.. I could barely hold it without it dripping. The taste was ok but nothing special.. we got three sandwiches to try, PS,The Founder and a chicken sandwich, one fries and one tot 57$.. The fries didn't taste as freshly cut and probably frozen..
Proudly Serving, I am your self proclaimed #1 fan. I can't say enough good things and recommend this spot to everyone I can. The parking isn't too bad around lunch and early dinner time. The inside is usually spotless, beautiful and eye-catching with their familiar orange interior. There's plentiful outdoor seating, both with the enclosed patio as well as off the street tables. And the food.. oh my god. They hands down serve my favorite burger in the South Bay, maybe even LA county as a whole. I can't count the number of times I've been to their locations and have yet to be disappointed. The PS burger is reliable. Always comes out hot with freshly melted cheese. No pickles, of course. The fries are to DIE for. Frying them in duck fat makes them next level. The October specials, fried chicken sandwich and ube shake, were both phenomenal. Ugh. This is what love is.
I went to the original restaurant at the boardwalk in Redondo Beach. At the time, the burger was too salty so I didn't go back. Decided to try again since it seems be popular with more locations. Came at lunch on a Monday. Place was not busy. Parking is behind the building. Food took less than 10 minutes. Got the PS burger without the special sauce (which is thousand island) and fries. The burger was a bit pricy for the size but did taste better then last time. Fries were very crispy. Came here a 2nd time for take out. Tried The Founder which is similar to PS except it's chopped intead of grilled onion. Also got the chili cheese fries with the chili and onions on the side. The 2 burgers taste about the same. Food fried. Chili a bit too salty. Would come back again except for the price is a little bit high for me to come back often read more

Our new favorite burger spot in the area. The restaurant is always consistently delicious. I always get the PS burger but you cant go wrong with anything on their menu. The smash burger is so good with their sauce and grilled onions. Make sure to get the malt vinegar aioli for your fries. Their milkshakes are unique because they are made with actual wafers blended in. I'll have to try some beer/wine next time we come. Service is always friendly and the food comes out quick. We love chilling here with the kids for lunch and playing some games on the pinball machines while we wait for our food. There is plenty of parking in the back and you can enter from the back. Its nice and bright inside with all the orange on the walls and there is plenty of bench seating outdoors. read more

The food is good, but if you dine in beware. They give preference you their DoorDash and delivery orders. I watched my food sit in the window for 10 minutes as they bagged and served the delivery drivers. My burger was cold by the time I got it. read more
I'm not a big fan of smashburgers to begin with and my last experience with one was a few years ago in Carson. That was an ok experience and really not anything noteworthy so I never went back. The game has been elevated now. Location: In Redondo Beach in the Riviera section right on PCH. Next door to Good Stuff Diner. Parking is in the back behind the building. Food: I got the Juicy James burger which was a good sized burger with cheese, tomato, lettuce, griddled onions, bacon and sauce on a sesame seeded bun. The quality is better than I expected and filling. Was it juicy? Ummmm, yes and no but I suspect most of the juice came from the sauce on it. Not a bad burger. I also got their duck fat fries. Crispy and thick cut, these were good and a generous amount is given. Summary: This place was born during COVID times out of a garage from a husband and wife team that now has 2 locations ( the El Segundo location has closed). They do serve wine and beer including their own wine. Price point is slightly on the higher side. They do have merchandise, tater tots and desserts. However, I do wish they had a combo meal available because my burger and fries meal cost me almost $20 without a drink. And making anything spicy is an extra $0.50. For that, I'll bring my own heat. Credit and cash is accepted. Oh, and they do have pinball games for entertainment besides people watching because this located within walking distance of Torrance Beach. Would I come back? Came to RB location to try their Big Fish sandwich that's availed for limited time! Their version of filet o fish is so good, highly recommend! +parking lot available in the back and street parking also available in the front. +outdoor seating as well as indoor seating is available. Outdoor seating's view isn't that great but it's nice to enjoy the LA weather while having an awesome burger! +like HB location, they have couple pinball machines available +RB location currently serves "Big Fish" sandwich, which is their version of filet o fish. At first I thought the sandwich was small but after eating it with their sides, you'll be full from the sandwich! The fish that they use is soft and juicy, which is a perfect cut for fish sandwich and it goes so well with melted American cheese and tartar sauce. It's definitely like McDonald's filet o fish but better so please stop by and give it a try while it's available! (Apparently Big Fish is available until April--probably up to lent for those that can't eat meat on Fridays). +my boyfriend and I also tried their proudly serving fries, which was good! We both actually don't like In-N-Out's animal style fries because it's so heavy but the sauce that PS uses is lighter and easier to eat in big portions! -the only feedback we had is that the Big Fish sandwich is solid but it'll be even better if the fish fillet was crispier--then we'd easily rate our experience a solid 5 stars. read more
a ps burger + fries + a drink + tip =$25 the ps burger was delectable. it had these long well-grilled onions that i'll be thinking about for a while. i'm not usually a fan of pickles, but I kept mine in my burger and fully understood their reason to be there lol. i would definitely make my way back here for the burger again! I wanted to try their fries because I saw they were fried in duck fat, as a fries lover i had give it a try. turns out i don't like my fries with duck fat. they tasted like they had been triple fried. dry and under seasoned. i don't suggest the fries But everyone I went with made to sure to clean my plate of fries. so take it as you will. i don't think the comb meal was worth the $25, but i would recommend trying their burgers. read more

On my quest to try the best smashburger in LA, it brought me to Proudly Serving. I opted for the PS burger, and my partner got the Hit the Spot Burger. Also got fries and tots on the side, and a vanilla-chocolate swirl milkshake, which surprisingly came with crushed wafers: it made for a creamy, refreshing, and textural treat! As for the smashburger, the PS burger was pretty good: a lot cheesier than other smashburgers I've had, but it was nice and creamy. However, my partner's Hit the Spot burger was strangely overly salty, which didn't taste so good. The fries were incredible, as I believe they're cooked in duck fat, which made for a savory and addictive taste. The tots were okay, but they got overly greasy and I think they were made from frozen (i.e. not freshly-made). Overall, a decent smashburger joint for the South Bay. Give it a go! read more

If you're craving a smash burger and are in the Redondo Beach Riveria area, go here! Heck if you're in the South Bay, go here! We have been following these guys since they were a pop-up. We visited with the family, about 9 of us, for dinner and sat outside at their long table. With the colder weather, they do have a heater which is nice. They do have indoor seating. Food came out quick and was very delish. There are a few street parking spots at the front but a larger parking lot in the back. read more

This is such a cute spot in riviera village. Walking distance to the beach. The inside is clean and the outdoor patio is shaded. Perfect for people watching. The burgers were really good, but my favorite was the tuna melt. Unfortunately, it's only there for one month (January 2026), but I do hope they bring it back. On top of that, the service was sharp and fast. Great service!! read more

Was craving a burger and decided to check out Proudly Serving in Redondo on a weeknight. There was no wait around 8pm. I got the pastrami burger and added lettuce and my husband got PS burger. If you want a classic smash burger without the fixings, get the PS. In my opinion, The pastrami had more flavor and I loved that it had more fixings in it. If we were to come back, we both would get the pastrami burger again! We also got the fries with zesty ranch and malt vinegar aioli. I usually don't like thick cut fries but these were cooked well and crispy. The ranch was also very good! Would get it again. read more

Cute little burger joint serving up some delicious food! Staff is super friendly and helpful and they keep the place very clean in between patrons. Tater tots are top tier. Highly recommend these! The fries are also so crispy and delicious. The zesty ranch is a perfect pairing for both. The burger patties are super flavorful and have a great char to them. Definitely come try this place out! To the owner, please open a location in san pedro!! We have so many empty business locations and no amazing burger places!! read more

I pass by this place all the time and I finally gave it a try! There is outside and indoor seating. Pretty cool they have arcade games by the standing tables! There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant. The restroom is also towards the back hall of the restaurant. You need to ask the code to use the restroom. They have a lot of different smash burgers on their menu, and they also serve alcohol! My husband and I tried the PS burger, juicy James, and fries. The worker recommended the zesty ranch and vinegar aioli dip. Everything tasted so good! We really enjoyed both of our burgers! Lots of flavor. I will say, the fries is probably the best fried I've ever had!! They are thick fries, lots of filling, and crunchy in the outside! We did enjoy the sauce dips they recommended! The aioli was definitely my favorite. Would definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu. :) read more
Been wanting to try this spot for awhile and finally got the chance to this past weekend. Smashburgers were pretty tasty, didn't have the super crispy edges like some other places I've tried but nonetheless, still a solid smashburger. It's just a little expensive for the amount you get, but maybe that's the whole point for it. I mean the smash burgers are good, but I can definitely say I've had better smash burgers and it's very difficult given a close competitor in the area for burgers is In N Out. To rate purely on taste, I'd say that it is still pretty good. Just not enough. read more
tl;dr the well-executed sides and sauces are overshadowed by otherwise expensive and forgettable smashburgers Like so many popular fast-casual spots across Los Angeles, Proudly Serving LA began as a pandemic-era pop-up in owner Matthew McIvor's driveway. After a stint as a ghost kitchen on Redondo Beach's International Boardwalk, Proudly Serving opened two standalone brick-and-mortar locations in Hermosa and Redondo. Nowadays, Proudly Serving is one of the trendist burger joints in the South Bay. The Redondo Beach location is just blocks from Riviera Village. The vibes are playfully nostalgic. The logo is a zombified version of Bob's Big Boy. The whitewashed walls have pops of pumpkin-orange trim. In the far back, old-school pinball machines are lined up underneath a flatscreen. Non-mainstream hip-hop plays loudly within the restaurant, but there are plenty of more-relaxed bar-counter style seats and umbrella-ed tables just outside. My partner and I visited for weekend lunch, and we split the Pastrami Burger and the Chili Burger. Across both sandwiches, I found the patties to be overcooked and juice-less; it may sound paradoxical, but the smashburgers were regrettably dry. The former burger was dominated by thinly sliced, equally dry pastrami; my partner described it as "pastrami jerky". Meanwhile, the latter featured a dynamic chili that was a step up from Tommy's, but it was missing a tart ingredient (such as pickles) to cut through the savoriness. The remainder of the meal was, fortunately, more fulfilling. Beyond the traditional side of fries, Proudly Serving also offered tater tots. Fried in duck fat, the tots end up both rich and crispy. The PS Tots were upgraded with a whole burger patty, pickles, and Special Sauce; while the toppings didn't feel necessary, they also didn't overwhelm. Of the a la carte sauces, I was most impressed by the rich-overload Bacon Fat Ranch, followed closely by the mildly spicy Zesty Ranch; the slightly sweet Special Sauce was no slouch either. Only the overly vinegary Malty Vinegar Aioli was a whiff. At over $40, the bill was eyebrow-raising; at least the portions were reasonably filling. A few non-burger-related characteristics help Proudly Serving stand out amid the crowded Los Angeles burger game. First, the array of sauces enhanced sandwiches and sides alike. Additionally, the close proximity to a beer and bottle shop meant an endless array of cheap pairing options for the meal; we opted for a locally brewed porter tallboy. Nonetheless, the signature smashburgers remain expensive disappointments, and Proudly Serving is worth skipping for a burger enthusiast. read more

My husband and I first tried them at their pop-up on the pier, so we were so excited to finally check out their brick-and-mortar--and it absolutely delivered. The smashburgers were insanely good. Super fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor--you can really taste the quality. And the fry sauces?? Next level. We were dipping everything and trying to pick a favorite (impossible). The vibe inside is just as good as the food. The music was and when we mentioned it, the staff told us Beverly curated the playlist while we there -- iconic. Shoutout to Valentina for taking our order and Justin for also holding it down. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and clearly proud of what they're serving. Amazing food, great energy, and such a fun spot. So happy they have a permanent home now--already planning our next visit. read more
First time at this location- here early on a Tuesday and found nearby street parking. I had the PS burger with duck fat tots and he had the Founder with fries. We added jalepenos to the burgers. Food came out fast and delicious as ordered ! Yes it's an $11 burger but I found it worth it. Really hit the spot. I actually liked the fries even better than the tots. Inside and outside seating. Not sure what malt vinegar aioli but next time! read more
