Four guys too many made this
Daniel P.

Five guys is three too many for burgers, and four for dogs which leaves a guy each for sides and register duty. Yes, you get infamous fries and there's sacks of spuds all over place but by the time you get to eat them the starchy magic has been lost to the hype. All in all it's a good little $5.00 burger that will set you back $7.00 all fancied up with bright fresh fruit and veggies: tomato, lettuce, onion, pickles, peppers, and other peppers... Regardless, I totally don't get the split hot dogs. Either get a better bun or a better hot dog or both.

Five guys is nice and let me tell you why. Burger heaven and "boardwalk style" fries. Little burger is one patty and a burger is two patties. They have have cheese and bacon options too. Don't want a patty at all, you can go veggie but it's not a veggie patty. It's just veggies in between the buns. They also have a grilled cheese option. Paleo, Whole 30, low carb? You have options to low carb and go paleo by ordering a lettuce wrap or bowl. Ordering whole30 is easy too. Patties are compliant, just stay away from non compliant sides like mayo, ketchup, cheese and etc. Five guys doesn't season their patties and I'm okay with that. I can always add salt and pepper. But what they have is always fresh and cooked to order. I love placing my order online and having it ready for pickup once I arrive. The only thing you ever have to wait for on a web order is the fries if you order. And the fries are good. You can get them regular or Cajun seasoned. Fried perfectly in peanut oil. And I like mine with a side of malt vinegar. (Not allowed on my current whole30 diet, but when I can grub on it it's just so good). And of course, the free peanuts. Help yourself and munch away while you're waiting for your food. So prior to a paleo/whole30 lifestyle we enjoyed five guys. And even after we can still enjoy five guys. Makes this a winner in my book for sure!!

So-so cheeseburger with grilled onions and lettuce

Definitely slower service and not as good as other locations. Fries were just as good as anywhere else, but our burgers were not juicy like we've come to expect. Plus, no complementary peanuts. :(

Little Cajun fries - delicious!

Had just watched a movie and we were super hungry. Definitely wanted a burger and the other burger place near the North Place mall didn't have very good reviews! Five guys always delivers! Love how you can get as many toppings as you want at no extra cost. Their toppings are pretty good too, the raw jalapeno, grilled onions, grilled onions.... yummy.....the little Cajun fries were actually pretty big and absolutely delicious! They have the best fast food fries ever!

Jack enjoying a trip to give guys.

Cajun fries were way over seasoned made me throw up twice. My burger was okay though the patty was very very thin.

Good food but you'll be surprised by your bill. Go to share a small order of fries with your small burger...seriously.

Very expensive lunch. I got a single bacon cheeseburger, fry, and medium drink and my bill was $11.90.

The guy that took our order was super chill and even gave recs for the spice level my group and I should get. All the food took about 10 mins to be prepared. We were able to grab a seat in the dining area while we waited. We got a variety of sliders, tenders, and fries. All the ingredients were fresh ingredients and the fries were crunchy and seasoned well. I appreciate that they don't skimp on the sauce if you need more. Glad Dave's are nationwide, bc this experience made me want to try them again.

it's hot, it's chicken, there's even a Dave (but possibly just in a marketing sense at this point…read more I dunno...) came in for a little something between work and the coffee thing later in the day because nothing says relaxifying like bird chunks and fries. dining room looks clean so the pungency must be the guy ahead of me in line... order on the right, pickup on the left, wait outside sitting next to traffic because it's better that way. my #4 (slider plus fries) is ready pretty quick so I grab it and hasten back to the great outdoors to examine my bounty in the warm fresh air. longish slab o' crunchy chicken sticking out both sides of the bun and topped with slaw, pickle, and saucy sauce with more pickles and sauce on the side alongside a respectable pile of hot, crisp, and too salty crinkle cut fries that ate pretty well regardless ;-) slider is almost a chicken shooter; dip the ends in the sauce, bite of chicken, bite of pickle, repeat as necessary until you're holding a chicken sandwich... overall a fair meal at a reasonable cost. all freshly prepared and served piping hot and crunchy; dine in, dine out, carry out, however you wanna do this it'll get you fed and it might even set Peter's eat-o-meter to whirling.

I've been to Dave's Hot Chicken a few times now, always thinking maybe this is the visit where it…read moreclicks and it never does. After discovering PoppyCox, I finally realized why: Dave's just isn't good enough. Simply put, Dave's Hot Chicken doesn't slap. The chicken is fine but it lives in a flavorless desert, desperately begging for seasoning. The heat shows up (eventually) but heat without flavor is just punishment, not pleasure. By contrast, PoppyCox serves up three of the most beautifully fried, juicy Nashville hot tenders you can get in the QC. Medium heat there is a full-on flavor and spice oasis with crispy crust, real seasoning, and chicken that actually tastes like something. That comparison made Dave's shortcomings impossible to ignore. Then there are the sides... Dave's doesn't have ranch, which honestly should be illegal in the South. The fries are trash, and the so-called "secret sauce" is a waste of a condiment cup that never had a chance to save the plate anyway. If you're craving Nashville hot chicken in Charlotte, skip Dave's. Go to PoppyCox, support a local brand, and enjoy chicken that's actually seasoned, properly fried, and absolutely drowning in ranch (the way it's supposed to be).

The chicken is hot, fresh, crispy and available at any spice level you want from no spice to "you…read morehave to sign a waiver ". Medium is my go to. While I have tried the next level up a couple times and it's not an unmanageable heat level, but still prefer medium. This location is pretty new and the staff has been very well trained. Super friendly, polite and they know what they're doing. Will definitely return.
