This is a small but clean nice looking Burger Joint. Burgers are good, real good but occasionally the bottom part of the bun will be soaked in grease when they put the burger on the bun then let it sit waiting for the fries to be cooked. It's a waste of time to order a burger with the toppings you want as after several visits my toppings were wrong all but once. Fries are good and most of the time hot but portions aren't consistent. I will order a large fry and most of the time they give me a regular size fry even though I paid for a large. Several times I pointed this out to the manager who is really nice unless shes having a bad day. Then she hardly speaks and if you point out the tiny portion she doesn't care. Bottom line you are paying a premium for food that is hit or miss at a place where their staff don't seem to care and management only cares if they are having a great day. read more

Burger tonight was ok but the bun disintegrated when picked up. Had to eat with knife and fork. Cheese fries are a joke. Half a slice of cheese covered next to nothing. I try to eat here at least once a week or so. It is hand's down the best burgers in town. Even better than 5 Guys, and less expensive. Total disappointment $76.67 waisted. We ordered 4 impossible melts. The cheese wasn't melted, the onions were not caramelized, the bread wasn't toasted, the patty wasn't hot or warmed. It tasted like it was seasoned with cardboard. Burger King's impossible burger tasted better. The tater tots were over cooked they tasted like they soaked in old dirty grease. The milkshakes was a bit watery and had no toppings. The onion rings were cold just like the plain burgers that LisaMarie made. Speaking of LisaMarie she went from the register to making food very unsanitary & come to find out she's the manager. Although when I called the store someone else claimed to be the manager and said they would refund our money and they never did. That's bad business !! Stir clear !! Wendy's is next door. Expensive and disappointing. The service was good that's the lone bright spot. $18 for a bacon double cheeseburger fries and a shake. Let's break it down. The chocolate shake was extremely thin and had very little flavor needed to at least double the chocolate. The onion rings were average to slightly above average nice beer batter but a little greasy even for onion rings. The burger a huge disappointment just not seasoned properly left greasy and although it was "freshly made" patty it tasted like a frozen Sysco puck. Ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with ketchup and mustard and that thing was so flavorless. No seasoning on the burger and it was dry! No juice. The bun was just plain too. They didn't butter or toast it, just took it out the bag and onto my burger. Bare minimum was missed. The Caesar salad was burger size lettuce not cut up. I've been by this location twice now. The service is pretty good and efficient. I enjoyed the cheesy burger, not overly greasy and the onion rings are some of the best I've had since in Charlotte. The wayback sauce is a blend of mustard and BBQ, really good to dip into. 2nd visit I tried the classic burger and milkshake. Not pictured below. I really enjoyed the burger added bacon, yum! The shake was good, nice consistency. I kept it simple went for vanilla. My motto, if they mess up a vanilla milkshake then shakes are probably not their thing lol. okay, so here's the thing: Wayback Burgers is probably a better destination than the airport (comparable drives) except there's no connecting flights to south florida out of mint hill so I'll not be able to pick up the cutest of chicks when she flies back in... other than that this is the place to be primarily because your heart doesn't hurt like you think it should when you've finished eating a wayback burger, not even when paired with a generous helping of delightfully crunchy house chips! and it's a really good moist burger too, gently pressed patties and a stack o' fixin's all piled up right: tomato, lettuce, pickles, and onions held in place by four bacons with just the right amount of ketchup and mustard to flavorize without making a huge sloppy mess. tidy sandwich that tastes like its got relish instead of actual pickles but there it is in all its pickley glory. My husband and I have very different schedules and I don't like to try new things without him. This place is very small. Very few places to sit and eat both inside and outside. I got an order of fried Mac and cheese balls... never heard of such thing but figured why not try it? Ordering was easy. The staff was super friendly and patient. The excitement occurred when we went to get our drinks... (I'll back up a bit). So for about a month now, I have been a die HARD FAN of anything pineapple. Mostly pineapple water... I go to pick out my drink and they had a section of FLAVORED WATER! I know that may sound LAME to some of you, but I don't drink soda... I haven't been to a wayback burger joint in years, so when I saw one opened up close to me I had to try it out. Needless to say they didn't disappoint. It's more pricey than all the fast food burger joints but you can taste the difference in the quality of the burger as soon as the first bite. I'm not joking, go there and check them out. Solid 4 stars, staff was friendly. Food was good. I had the double bacon burger which was cooked perfectly, condiments were plentiful, and the flavor was pretty good. The bacon was pretty small, so while named the double bacon, it was pretty much a normal bacon cheeseburger. We order from here a few times a week. This past week and a half the food quality has been awful. They miss items listed that you want, and yesterday, gave two 1/4 orders of onions rings. Very poor! Let's start with the positive first. It's a damn site better than other local burger chains but you're going to pay for the increased food quality. My vegetarian wife says the veggie burger is the best in the area and the option to swap the kids drink out for a shake (for an up charge) is a nice option. My burger was good but not mind blowing. It's nice that you can choose tots over fries but again, not worth the cost. I don't know if they are encouraging take out but the seating inside is minimal at best. A worker in the kitchen called a woman in a polo a b-tch, after coming to the register and making a scene in front of customers.
