After a day full of wine tasting, we needed some fuel to help us get home. A friend recommended Fitzpatrick's so we braved the freezing California winter and walked on over. Sadly we just couldn't bring ourselves to order another drink, so we stuck with food and ice teas. I had a giant house salad with ranch an order of buffalo wings. My friends had the chicken pot pie and an order of fish and chips. Everyone was pleased. The wings were super crisp and the portion size was huge. I actually took a few home which never happens. I was told the chicken pot pie was delicious, once it had time to cool down. That thing arrived fresh out of the oven and was like molten lava. It's worth pointing out that this location was opened even with most of the town already closed. I love finding spots in Solvang that stay open past 5. The Shepard's pie it so good! I also recommend the Apple Pie cocktail, it's three different beers layered in the glass and it's the best beer I've had. The staff is very friendly. We were able to bring our dog, but be aware that you will be using the outdoor seating if you bring your dog so dress appropriately. read more

This place is awesome. Came in with three small kids when it was super busy right after the Christmas parade. There were only two servers/bartenders but they handled the rush like champs. Quick service with a smile the whole time. Highly recommend the Rueben (one of the best I've had) and the Dubliner burger. This is sort of a hidden gem in Solvang. With all the Danish & Swedish Restaurants, this Irish pub offers something different ... and it IS SO GOOD! The atmosphere is a typical Irish pub- warm wood, copper ceiling, cozy tables & good music playing non-stop. The menu offers quite a few Traditional Irish dishes along with basic American favorites. I ordered the Dublin Burger and it was DELICIOUS!!! You definitely need to order the onion rings... They are SO good! I literally was unwilling to share them So when your visiting Solvang don't think that the Danish food is your only option, the Irish know how to cook!!!! read more

Worst restaurant experience ever. The waitress yelled at two customers while we were in there. Then she opened the door right next to us where it was freezing and yelled across the restaurant that she wouldn't close it because there "wasn't ventilation in the kitchen". So we told her that because we had two babies with us, then we would probably have to leave because it was freezing right there. She yelled for us just to leave the restaurant. We tried to pay the kids meal that had already been brought out and she still yelled us to "just leave" and opened the door to get us out. Never been so offended. There's also no bathrooms. I would definitely recommend this place. The service was amazing, and the food knocked my socks off! I wish I could remember our server's name...she was super awesome, funny and bubbly, and had great eyebrows! We both got the Salmon Burger and devoured them! Being an Irish pub we weren't sure if it was smart to veer away from their specialties, but it was bomb dot com! It's rad that they have so many seating options - traditional inside tables and bar, outdoor bar seating (no actual bar), and an outdoor patio that was covered. It wasn't too crowded either. What a find! This hidden hole in the wall, local Irish Pub was a real find here in Solvang. We were looking for a place to watch our hockey team,Vegas Golden Knights, play ( #goknightsgo ) and they were very accommodating. We had their version of Irish Coffees, as it was a cold day, and a starter of fried calamari. They were both yummy and the great start for our meal. I had the Corned Beef plate and it was plentiful to say the least. My friends had the lamb shank and the bangers & mash, both meals were great, and very generous servings. We did have dessert, the bread pudding with a Jameson's whiskey sauce, that was absolutely to die for...it was the last serving and I understand why as it was sooo good. I am so glad we shook off the cold weather, and enjoyed this great local pub. Currently sitting in this gem of a place in the sleepy little town of Solvang. Had the lamb shank special and oh my gosh was that Heaven and Earth. Perfectly cooked, served with some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. My guy had the Irish nachos and those to were done to perfection. Currently waiting on the bread pudding and I have no doubt that it will also be wonderful!... Update. It was also stupid good. Y'all need to go here... end of story! read more

We love Irish pubs, but unfortunately this was not a good experience for us. We split a few sandwiches, including a chicken club. My girlfriend ate about half of the club and I had a few bites when we realized that the chicken was raw inside. We let our server know and she picked up the chicken with her hands (weird) and investigated it for herself, agreeing it was not fully cooked. They offered a replacement sandwich but we declined and both had lost our appetites. She never came back to check on us so my girlfriend went to the bar to close out our tab. We left. Unfortunately my girlfriend had food poisoning and was sick all night. I could tell the restaurant was busy and we had an extended wait time for our food. I know things are tough right now and COVID has been a hit on the industry, but the staff didn't make an effort to give any excuses or apologies. I was disappointed in the way this was handled and do not recommend the restaurant. Total bummer. read more

Low rating strictly for the service. We got here on a Sunday afternoon at around 230pm. We sat on their front deck, each ordered a beer, and didn't see a single server again for over an hour. At the hour mark, we ordered a second beer and again haven't seen anyone for another hour. Coming from the service industry, I know that things can get backed up. There was no consideration for our time, nor apologies for the delay in assistance. The beers were fine. We are in fact still sitting here waiting to pay. Fitzpatrick's Tavern was a joy for my girlfriend and I to eat at in Solvang. We went to this restaurant as a recommendation from another couple and we could not be happier. The food was amazing I had the spicy melt burger and the flavor was great. The melt was true to its name and had some serious kick which is why I was glad I ordered a kiltturner. Our server was also great in making a lemon drop for my girlfriend even though it was not on the menu. One of the waiters who I believe was the owner had a bunch of energy and made this an experience. Observing him with other guests he took his time to describe drinks and took pride when he got someone to enjoy a beer. Next time I'll definitely be ordering a Black and Tan as he seemed super excited about that drink. The only reason why this isn't a five star post is there were no heat lamps and at night it did get chilly. If you are in solvang and need good tasting food and a drink this place is a must! read more

Based on my recent visit I was only able to give this place a 2 out of 5 stars, due to the poor service, long wait time, and food temperature. Upon entering the establishment, the place was pretty busy, even though we did not get shown our seats I was able to get the bartenders attention to ask if my friends and I could take the open booth. He said yes and said a server would be over to greet us, server was not able to make it to our table till after I asked for menus from the bartender and after 5-10 of looking at the menu the server was finally able to make it to our table and take our order. After another long wait, 30+ minutes our food finally came out. I ordered the calamari for our appetizer, which did not come out first and ended coming to our table along with everyone's order. It was very unappealing that it was barely warm and rubbery, tasted as if it had been sitting for awhile. I ordered the fish N chips, which had a really nice batter, light on the batter and cooked perfectly. The fries were great but were not hot as if they were freshly fried. My husband ordered the Shepard's pie which was pretty ordinary and nothing that gave us a "wow" factor. I really had high hopes for this place after seeing the yelp photos and reviews. If I make the 2 hour drive back to Solvang I would pick some place else to eat. But because of the really slow service and only being served "warm" food I was not very impressed. Would suggest only going here if it's on a slow day, maybe the service and food timing would be better. read more

Ok, I know you're in the middle of dane heaven in Solvang but I tried a few items from here and I dont write reviews unless they knock my socks off. My yelps are money in the bank, read em and trust them. Which brings me to here. Needed a good meal after getting off the road and the GF had eaten here before. Do yourself a favor as a couple, order the four cheese mac, the shepherd's pie and split a bread pudding. Plenty of food for two. We ordered fish n chips, mac n cheese, shepherd's pie and bread pudding. The mac n cheese is enough for a meal on it's own, tasty with bread crumbs on top liked the cheese flavors, similar to how I've had it in other pubs. The fish n chips is what you expect for the fare. Good fish, flaky, good slaw and chips, plenty of food. The shepherd's pie knocked my socks off. It's kind of like every good pub has a shepherd's pie but this one was effing fantastic. The flavor profile of the meat and veggie was complex and very engaging on the palate. Don't know how this dude does this but it's worth coming here for. I have been here before and everything was outstanding. I came back with my family and the food was crap. The servers were great. Drinks were fine for what they were. The food was crap and the cooks didn't care that they screwed up our order, over cooked the fries or cooked them in old oil. Bangers and Mash should come with mashed potatoes not fries. I hope the owner reaches out to me so I can explain myself further. I work in the hospitality industry. If I based my recommendations on tonight, I wouldn't send any of my guests to this place.
