We got lucky and got the second to last table before they closed. It was around 8:15pm on Saturday night, December 16, so you can imagine how busy Solvang was around the holidays. Most places were already closed (the bad thing about Solvang). I loved how accommodating our server was when we asked if we could modify some of the burgers to make them vegan. He was very nice about it and wrote everything down correctly. We were all very happy with our meals and drinks. We usually eat here whenever we are in Solvang. Definitely recommend! read more

We love coming to Fitzpatrick's when we are in town. I'm not sure if the gentleman who bartends is the owner/manager, but he is a staple at this place! He's working every time when we have been here. We stopped in a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday and they were so busy on Saturday that they ran out of some food items. No mater, there is always something good - fish and chips or burgers, they are the best! It got extremely busy on Sunday and he was by himself, but I had never seen anyone hustle as much as he was. This was one of the places that closed the latest in the area. We decided to give it a try and we were glad we did. The service was great. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was great as well. We both had the Dubliner burger and boy was that burger good. Not to mention the fries. The fries are some of the best fries I've had. I am very glad that they offered delivery through third party because the food turned out to be pretty amazing. I had not plans of going to Solvang and having Irish food but that's what transpired...very happily so. I ordered the shepherds pie which had the most perfect crunchy mashed potato top, and the husband ordered the Irish stew which was plentiful with a very nice Guinness flavor to it. The stew was a very hearty portion for just one person. We also ordered their crispy calamari, a great start to our dinner. So I'm here at Solvang visiting for the first time and I decided to try this restaurant. I went in with my wife and we sat since the sign read to seat and wait to be attended. Two workers saw us walking and sitting. We waited for about 15 mints and no one came to greet us or give us the menu. Then two people came in and sat down in front of us; they were immediately given menus and were attended promptly. So WTF happened? Took even longer to get Mac n Cheese, which tasted ok but kind of bland and French Fries which were touted by server when asked as being special and a favorite but in fact were just ok and kind of dry. Cobb Salad came last and without chicken, which server confirmed at time of order would be grilled, and no egg or avocado. Server took salad back to kitchen and came back with it having a measly portion of cold shredded chicken. Unacceptable, we sent it back and did not order anything else. When our server brought the check the salad was still listed on it. We mentioned it and he removed it. Overall, pretty disappointing experience. We don't come to Solvang for Irish pub fare anyway, just thought you may have the UFC 312 main events to view. Servers had mentioned earlier in the afternoon when we stopped by it was a possibility but never promised, which was good because didn't happen. The waiter asked us if we'd ever seen their "Reuben Sandwich book" as he handed us a big green album full of poems, testimonies and cartoons written on napkins by customers all about their Reuben sandwich. I was on my trek to Solvang to see the motorcycle museum and needed to relax and sip a brewski, I found this place on Yelp, and being part Irish it was a perfect fit. Parking was awesome especially for us bikers, a place right in front. They had outside seating which was great because it was a beautiful day. During a walking tour of the area with the wife's who wanted to shop more than us, we stopped by for a drink. The place wasn't too busy but the service was slow because the barmaid was too busy talking with others to even acknowledge us as we sat at the bar looking at her for several long minutes (6). She poured a fair Guinness, however the bar was sticky and it could use an open door now and again to air out. Overall, a great place to drink. read more
