We are staying at an AirB&B in Lyndonville, so decided to run into Medina to find somewhere to eat. We were headed somewhere else, but happened to turn around and see a pub across the street and went in on a whim. We didn't see this listed on Yelp, and once I looked it up specifically I noticed that a couple reviews were not stellar. However, I must point out that anyone who orders chicken fingers, knowing they come pre-made and frozen no matter where you go, and then decides to get online to whine about them is absolutely ridiculous. (I just figured out we were on the listing for "Fitzgibbon's Public House," so I had to repost this here.) What a fantastic place! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Every inch is covered with fun architectural details and pictures. The service was great, and the food was excellent--especially at the price they were charging! You can't get sandwiches like this for $10 in Buffalo!

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon. Last night NYS added the "no food = no booze" rule so we ordered Bavarian pretzels with homemade Guinness cheese sauce and a piece of Boston Creme Cake (we had to, and absolutely no regrets) to go with our afternoon happy hour beverages. The owner stopped by to check in and we had a great chat. This traditional pub atmosphere & music was a great way to end a busy week. Will definitely come back - thanks Bethany!

Saw this place when I was in town for the Christmas parade and knew I had to come back once they opened! They are still in their soft opening phase so their full menu isn't up and running yet, but the beer is flowing and I am all about the beer. The nitro pours were fabulous, and they have a decent tap list of local stuff in addition to the more traditional Irish fare. And there of course is wine and a full bar if beer isn't your thing. The pub itself is gorgeous. Beautifully carved wood everywhere you look and the decor is simple enough not to take away from the beauty of the building itself. I am sure it will be a popular addition to Main Street!

I just love my native home of Western NY. I didn't pilot any fancy jet to get here from my current home in Tx but the trip in a old 1946 Cessna 1300 miles was worth it. On to the good stuff! Fitzgibbon's is such an outstanding pub to have a quick pint or a relaxing and refreshing lunch. I sampled the Veggie burger with a small side salad, as simple as it sounds everything was just tasty and quickly delivered to us. The staff was attentive and aiming to please its customers...........What a gem Fitzgibbon's is to Medina and WNY!!!!! Go Bills!!!!

Let's start with the good! Host was super friendly and had lots of patience Nice decor 20's crowd Non-smoking The bad Higher than normal WNY farm town pricing. Limited selections on beer for trying to have decent beer menu but way too may Coors, bud, water down shite beer Limited food menu No kids menu The ugly Food was burnt. See photo. 2 of three people had burnt and the one had burnt fries but luckily the burger was grilled not fried. Felt bad they don't have a good cook. Notice not chef but cook Overall Nice looking place. Needs some help. It's WNY. Set your expectations low and you will be fine.

We came here for dinner & we were blown away by the atmosphere upon entering. It has such an old world feel.... Just like being in an European pub! And the food is awesome! I had a Ruben and my hubby had a Schnitzel. They have huge portions!

We got cocktails as well and they were well made, a Fitzgibbon's Spritz for myself and a Jack and coke for him.

We didn't reserve in advance (which I now highly recommend). The wait was about an hour, but we passed the time at the nearby Churchill with a pre‑drink, and they texted us when our table was ready. The Sunday night jazz band was fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly, and they work together as a team to take care of you. Amber was our primary server - she was great. Service for both drinks and food was quick, and the cozy Irish pub atmosphere made it even better. Definitely try to reserve ahead on the website if you can. If not, just plan to relax at one of the nearby pubs until your table is ready.

Parking in NOTL always a bit of a challenge especially if you don't want to pay! Wife enjoyed her 1+1 - 2 different fish filets with chips. I had the Irish Experience of three different meat pies. Each did have a unique taste. A filling and interesting dish. Murphy's stout on tap was Devine. Wife found her NA Moscow mule good but, given no alcohol, she felt the serving volume was low. Less than $100 CA all-in seemed reasonable for a fairly authentic Irish meal.

Sure, it was good... but Doc's knocked by socks off. I went here on a recommendation from the staff at a hotel that competes with the Best Western where Doc's is located, which is always a good sign for a hotel restaurant. Got the corned beef boxty, which is amazing. With the boxty fries, which were really good - much better than standard fries, in my opinion. And had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Heavenly. I actually went back two days later after dinner at another restaurant to have the sticky toffee pudding one more time. The atmosphere is very nice, like a pub should be, with good service from the bartender, music the second night I was there, and some good conversation with a fellow traveler from London (Ontario). The odds are high that I'll be back. If you're looking for somewhere to burn all the delicious calories, my suggestions are the Niagara River Recreation Trail (from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake) and the Niagara Gorge Hiking Trails. Three and a half out of five for Doc's matches. They burn well, and are a cool souvenir, but it's difficult to strike them on the side of the box. Still useful to have around the house where I can strike them on the side of another box, but not ideal for a retro night out on the town.

Tasty Pub Fare, Great Vibes & Even Better Reuben Bites!…read more Doc Magilligan's is a cozy Irish pub with a solid menu, a great beer selection, and a lively atmosphere. We really enjoyed the live music--it definitely added to the vibe, though it did make chatting a bit tricky at times. That said, the sets were short and added a fun touch to the evening. We started with a few appetizers, and everything hit the spot--the cauliflower bites were tasty, the spinach dip was solid, but the star was definitely the Reuben Bites--absolutely delicious! For mains, my wife ordered the mac and cheese and loved the depth of flavour--you can really taste the leeks, which was a nice twist. I got the chicken parm mac and cheese and thought it was fantastic--the chicken was juicy, crispy, and perfectly done. The rest of our group was just as happy--my brother raved about the Chicken Pot Pie, and the Bangers and Mash were also a hit. Overall, a great Irish pub experience with comforting food, friendly vibes, and some standout dishes. Definitely worth a visit!

We were informed that it was just around the corner. We strolled Medina's quaint Main St. to our dining destination. It has a narrow front but stretches back from Main for a great distance. The bar is very unusual. The name Mile 303 comes from the fact that Medina is 303 miles from New York Harbor via the historic Erie Barge Canal. That explained the unusual bar. The Bar is actually a Stylized Map of The Canal. Our Server delivered an impressive menu of drink options. They had everything Beer, Wine, Cocktails and Hard Cider. The Food Menu was not extensive but that is not a bad thing. My Wife picked out the Tacos. She informed me that they were quite different and quite tasty. I ordered The Bolonaise. I got extra wide pasta and a very nice sauce. Like many restaurants in Niagara and Orleans Counties this place is farm to fork. I am going back to this Restaurnt when the opportunity arises.
