Pretzel crusted chicken tenders & fresh cut fries with bistro sauce
    Monica K.

This place is cool! I imagine it looks similar to what a pub in Ireland would look like, but I can't say for sure... yet. We stopped in on a Saturday and bellied up to the bar. The waitress was friendly & efficient. Between the three of us, we ordered a french onion soup, chicken tenders, the highlander burger and Guiness stew. The cheese on top of the french onion soup was cooked perfectly and the homemade croutons were a little bit crisp instead of soggy, which I very much liked. The broth needed a little something more in mine & my friends opinion... not sure what though. The chicken tenders were breaded with crushed up pretzels which is not something I have seen before and was the ultimate reason for my decision to order. The tenders were kind of small; the breading was nice and light and crispy, not too greasy; the chicken was cooked perfectly. I think there should have been a little seasoning added to the pretzel... it seemed like they used unsalted pretzels. The price of the tenders on the menu was incorrect & I made mention to the waitress, so I'd think they will update it soon. The highlander burger (which was my second choice) was a steak burger topped with an onion ring, pulled pork, bacon & cheddar. My friend said it was really good. The Guiness stew (which was actually my third choice haha) was enjoyed by my other friend. The burger & the tenders came with fresh cut fries & they were perfectly done & delicious! The bathroom was nice & clean. There were many more items I saw on the menu that I would like to try such as the Celtic Nachos, Fried Pickles & Chip Butty. Check out my pictures for the menu. I will definitely be visiting Fitzgibbon's again!

We are staying at an AirB&B in Lyndonville, so decided to run into Medina to find somewhere to eat. We were headed somewhere else, but happened to turn around and see a pub across the street and went in on a whim. We didn't see this listed on Yelp, and once I looked it up specifically I noticed that a couple reviews were not stellar. However, I must point out that anyone who orders chicken fingers, knowing they come pre-made and frozen no matter where you go, and then decides to get online to whine about them is absolutely ridiculous. (Why, Kristaaaaaaa? Why?) What a fantastic place! Every inch is covered with fun architectural details and pictures. The service was great, and the food was excellent--especially at the price they were charging! You can't get sandwiches like this for $10 in Buffalo!

Matthews birthday we went to Fitzgibbons Public House in Medina! I had a American Classic burger with just lettuce tomato onion! The cook was perfect! My daughter in law had pretzel crusted chicken and fries and she it was good! Matthew had a Reuben with house chips! He said the Reuben was amazing and the chips were the best he ever tasted! I have to agree! Bethany was our server and she was awesome! Great place for a meal! Thank you!

Located in the small but elegant town of Medina is this little Irish tavern. The interior woodwork and decor of this place is stunning! I don't normally care about what the place looks like, but this is the closest you'll get to an Irish pub in NYS. The selection of authentic Irish beer is also very good. We decided to have the bangers and mash, which was very good, but the serving size was a bit small for a $12 dish. Either way, this is a place worth visiting and bringing friends with you. You won't regret it. I'd suggest coming during off peak hours as this place gets pretty busy on the weekends.

Irish Pub 50 steps from the Erie Canal built by Irish Immigrants. Even if you don't like beer - try the Rubin sandwich.

Great Irish pub next to the Erie Canal built by Irish Immigrants. Nice selection of beers. Solid selection of pub food. Cheers!

We absolutely love Fitzgibbons Public House in Medina NY! Food is great, atmosphere is better than any restaurant around, and the people are super friendly! We want to make it our regular Friday hangout! The owner of the restaurant came and talked with us and then showed us around the place. He even played a few notes on the pump organ in the back! https://www.fitzgibbonspub.com Can't wait to go there tonight!

Cheese looks like it was scooped yesterday. Had a film.

We didn't reserve in advance (which I now highly recommend). The wait was about an hour, but we passed the time at the nearby Churchill with a pre‑drink, and they texted us when our table was ready. The Sunday night jazz band was fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly, and they work together as a team to take care of you. Amber was our primary server - she was great. Service for both drinks and food was quick, and the cozy Irish pub atmosphere made it even better. Definitely try to reserve ahead on the website if you can. If not, just plan to relax at one of the nearby pubs until your table is ready.

Parking in NOTL always a bit of a challenge especially if you don't want to pay! Wife enjoyed her 1+1 - 2 different fish filets with chips. I had the Irish Experience of three different meat pies. Each did have a unique taste. A filling and interesting dish. Murphy's stout on tap was Devine. Wife found her NA Moscow mule good but, given no alcohol, she felt the serving volume was low. Less than $100 CA all-in seemed reasonable for a fairly authentic Irish meal.

I believe this place has some of the tastiest chicken fingers in all of WNY!…read more NOTE: This place is cash only!! They do have an ATM inside. Now, this place is not much to look at but the food, specifically their chicken fingers and chicken wings, are phenomenal! As for the location, there is plenty of parking in an empty lot next door. The inside is a "hole in the wall" bar that is not too big but fits the bill for a small town. They have a few TVs playing behind the bar and there is a pool table and a jukebox as you walk in off Main St. There are a couple booths and a few tables to sit at if you decide you want to get the full experience. The family ordered ahead for pickup: 10 mild chicken wings, an order of BBQ chicken fingers (four to five chicken fingers), and three orders of medium-style chicken fingers (about 12-13 chicken fingers). The food came out precisely when they said it would, so not much waiting at all when I got there to pick them up. The chicken fingers themselves are not the biggest I have ever seen, but the quality of the chicken and the sauce is top notch! The sauce has a little tang/kick to it but is not overpowering in heat. The chicken fingers themselves taste fantastic with just the right amount of breading on them and go down so easily. I have a pretty good appetite so I can eat about eight chicken fingers and would be full. Each order comes with sides of ranch and blue cheese (although I only noticed ranch with th order of medium-style chicken fingers...). As a side note, I did try their chicken wings for the first time and was very impressed with how good they were! They have a unique breading/feel to them and they have a TON of meat on each wing. Pony's has turned into an institution around Orleans county when you want something other than pizza. I look forward to grabbing more chicken fingers here and maybe change things up and get an order of chicken wings next time!

They claimed they didn't see it, meanwhile the cook is wearing the same exact hat. I realize there's a chance it wasn't mine but seems like the odds would be slim on that one. At the end of the day its my fault for leaving it there. And it is just a hat. I spent $250 on drinks and food while I was there. Im sure I can afford a new one. Its the point and the weird coincidence that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Sure, it was good... but Doc's knocked by socks off. I went here on a recommendation from the staff at a hotel that competes with the Best Western where Doc's is located, which is always a good sign for a hotel restaurant. Got the corned beef boxty, which is amazing. With the boxty fries, which were really good - much better than standard fries, in my opinion. And had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Heavenly. I actually went back two days later after dinner at another restaurant to have the sticky toffee pudding one more time. The atmosphere is very nice, like a pub should be, with good service from the bartender, music the second night I was there, and some good conversation with a fellow traveler from London (Ontario). The odds are high that I'll be back. If you're looking for somewhere to burn all the delicious calories, my suggestions are the Niagara River Recreation Trail (from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake) and the Niagara Gorge Hiking Trails. Three and a half out of five for Doc's matches. They burn well, and are a cool souvenir, but it's difficult to strike them on the side of the box. Still useful to have around the house where I can strike them on the side of another box, but not ideal for a retro night out on the town.

Tasty Pub Fare, Great Vibes & Even Better Reuben Bites!…read more Doc Magilligan's is a cozy Irish pub with a solid menu, a great beer selection, and a lively atmosphere. We really enjoyed the live music--it definitely added to the vibe, though it did make chatting a bit tricky at times. That said, the sets were short and added a fun touch to the evening. We started with a few appetizers, and everything hit the spot--the cauliflower bites were tasty, the spinach dip was solid, but the star was definitely the Reuben Bites--absolutely delicious! For mains, my wife ordered the mac and cheese and loved the depth of flavour--you can really taste the leeks, which was a nice twist. I got the chicken parm mac and cheese and thought it was fantastic--the chicken was juicy, crispy, and perfectly done. The rest of our group was just as happy--my brother raved about the Chicken Pot Pie, and the Bangers and Mash were also a hit. Overall, a great Irish pub experience with comforting food, friendly vibes, and some standout dishes. Definitely worth a visit!

We were informed that it was just around the corner. We strolled Medina's quaint Main St. to our dining destination. It has a narrow front but stretches back from Main for a great distance. The bar is very unusual. The name Mile 303 comes from the fact that Medina is 303 miles from New York Harbor via the historic Erie Barge Canal. That explained the unusual bar. The Bar is actually a Stylized Map of The Canal. Our Server delivered an impressive menu of drink options. They had everything Beer, Wine, Cocktails and Hard Cider. The Food Menu was not extensive but that is not a bad thing. My Wife picked out the Tacos. She informed me that they were quite different and quite tasty. I ordered The Bolonaise. I got extra wide pasta and a very nice sauce. Like many restaurants in Niagara and Orleans Counties this place is farm to fork. I am going back to this Restaurnt when the opportunity arises.
