Been going here since high school. Great food and super cool location. Anything NOLA is good here.

Salmon dip with pita bread was delicious.

The food is awesome, I was greeted with smiles and friendly faces. Service was prompt and your typical Fishbone atmosphere made my visit very pleasant. They also offer live music, I'd love to come back for that. If you're visiting Greektown this is definitely a spot to visit.

Heard good things about this place. We decided to split a shrimp po boy and get bowls of gumbo. Place is beautiful. Ate at the bar. Service was great and so was the food. Recommend the Ya Ya gumbo.

Tracy and I went to Detroit to see Cardi B we went to Fishbones to eat. We love appetizers so we got Calamari, Alligator bites and Oysters Rockafellar!! Oh yum!! Fishbones is a beautiful restaurant located near the Anthenium Hotel where we stayed...service was impeccable! Our bartender/waitress was Johnny on spot and drinks were awesome!! A must go to if you are in Detroit.

This location is a bit hard to get to. There is construction all around it and some roads are closed off on the side of the restaurant. Once inside, it has a nostalgic feel but also is big and open with plenty of seating. The service was lovely for our group of 4, our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. We tried the coconut shrimp and you get a lot of small shrimp which was nice. I tried the jambalaya was good but could have been a bit more spicy.

This place is HUGE! I was a bit weary, due to some other reviews but I am so glad we went. Jessica was our server and she was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! I got the braised short rib and it was perfect. A nice portion too, giving me leftovers. Pricey, but SO worth it. My husband got, étouffée, seafood gumbo and jambalaya. He loved the jambalaya the most, and the others were not too bad, he said he wished he would've gotten a larger jambalaya portion since it was so tasty. We would absolutely come here again if we ever make our way back to Detroit.

FABULOUS food, great service, and a gorgeous atmosphere. The building is so pretty. I'm absolutely coming back. It's hard to find good NOLA food in the Midwest, but man this is definitely it!!

The place has a sort of industrial feel that didn't lend itself well to a date night. Cocktails run about $16-18 and wines by the glass are $15-20. I had the El Diablo with Joven Tequila, Rescoldo Beet, Amaro, Ginger, Lemon which I thought was good but nothing groundbreaking. Most of their cocktails are riffs on classics. My husband had a glass of wine. To eat, we got the rescoldo beets ($19) which was priced steeply for a simple albeit tasty dish. He got the black rice (Peruvian Bay Scallops, Moqueca Sauce, Preserved Lemon) - $38 and I had the chicken with chimibutter and mustard - $35. Portions for mains were larger than expected. Unfortunately, we weren't wowed by any of the dishes. If I had to order one again, it would probably be the chicken, which was cooked well. We took quite a few leftovers home and honestly barely touched them. It was a pretty big let-down based on how much people rave about Barda. I can't say I would return.

We also loved the beets with garlic sauce, the potatoes, and the citrusy carrots, which added a refreshing balance to the meal. For dessert, the pavlova was good, though more tart and lemon-forward than we expected. The Punetazo cocktail was unique and worth trying. Service from Francesca was fantastic, attentive throughout the meal. Free on-site parking is available, and reservations are definitely recommended.

Every item was fresh and flavorful. We definitely will come back - though not all the time as that is cost prohibitive. While it definitely is on the pricey side, we are very happy to have dined here tonight.

We had 2 couples and they customized the menu for us based on our likes and dislikes. We got 5 courses starting with appetizers, followed by pasta (which I forgot to get photos of), then sides, entrees and dessert. Plus a little aperitif to start the meal off. Zero complaints about any of the dishes. My favorite dish was probably the artichokes and the steak. So delicious! The atmosphere at the restaurant was very fun and modern. And our server was very knowledgeable and helpful when we had questions about the dishes. The meal continually went downhill from the first appetizers to the end. Started to go downhill when we had to pastas as a third course. They both tasted the same and were extremely salty. This was followed up by the smallest saddest toughest steak that I've ever seen in my life. Was extremely disappointed at this point in the menu. The dessert tasted worse than disappointment. We saw everyone by us getting pistachio ice cream other dessert that looked great. We got peach tomato ice cream, with a dry dusty cake that tasted like powder. Great service from the waitress though. Very knowledgeable and attentive so we still gave her a good tip. I think that the chef's tasting menu is just an angle to overcharge you for mediocre homemade Italian food. It's under the guys of they ask you questions to cater to you and the taste of the people at your table. The questions are so general and ambiguous. It doesn't really hone in on what your actual taste are. Haven't left a restaurant feeling like I've been robbed and wasted my money in a while. The main course made White Castle looks like a Michelin 2 Starr restaurant. Won't go back and would not recommend. To cap off the evening we took that weird raw steak thing that they gave us is our main course home in a doggy bag for our dogs. Our dogs usually go nuts about any meat whether it's lunchmeat, grilled ribs, or even the fat trimmed from the edge of the steak. This meat was so weird and bad that two of our dogs took it from her hand, went around the corner and poked at it and sniffed at it before trying to eat it. One of the two dogs spit it out and the other one left it. I've had steaks and beef at hundreds of restaurants over the years and can always identify what it is by how the piece of meat looks and how it is prepared. This was like mystery meat, very, very, very disappointed and feel robbed.

I'm just genuinely disappointed that I now have to live with the knowledge that the best mac & cheese and carrot cake I've ever had exist in a city I don't live in. Our server, Lola, described the mac & cheese as "divine" and highly recommended the carrot cake. I should have known better than to trust her. The mac & cheese was, in fact, divine. I told Lola she had ruined my life because I will never be able to eat another mac & cheese without comparing it to this one. But the carrot cake? That was personal. Carrot cake is my favorite dessert, and I had a genuine emotional response to the first bite. Like, I actually wanted to cry. It was THAT good. I've spent my entire life loving carrot cake just to find out every piece I've ever eaten was apparently preparing me for this one. Now nothing will ever measure up. So fair warning, do not order the mac & cheese or carrot cake unless you're prepared to ruin perfectly good versions of both for yourself forever. The food was incredible, Lola was fantastic, and I'm honestly a little bitter that I don't live locally. 10/10. Five stars. Completely devastating. Would absolutely let them ruin my life again.

Even on a Monday night at 8:00pm, they were busy, which I think says a lot. The menu is small but intentional. Their staples are staples for a reason, and the servers are so personable that talking with them almost feels like running into an old friend. We each ordered a drink, the Brussels (always, we don't care what we get for a main), and shared the burger and campanelle. You're probably never going to be blown away by a burger, but you know a good burger from a bad one. This was a GOOD burger. The campanelle though... we could not stop talking about it. We arrived on this misty evening around 8pm, into the dim, candlelit space with upbeat music playing. We were asked promptly if we had a reservation-- did not, so we were promptly seated at the counter, across from the bar-- which was actually less crowded than the section on the floor with tables. Onto the food, I had fries that were nicely salted, and covered in a curry spice. They were decent but nothing spectacular. I would also describe my burger this way. The best part of it was the perfectly toasted and buttery bun-- but I find it overconfident to serve a burger without any toppings-- just a sauce that was apparently blended with pickles that I couldn't really taste. The burger was seasoned well enough...plenty of pepper, but it was all one texture, I didn't pick up any searing or anything to make the texture less one note. I asked my server for extra sauce, mustard, and ketchup to make it better. My friend recommended this spot specifically for the burger so I'm willing to say, I just ordered the wrong thing maybe. Onto the desert, the corn tiramisu caught my eye as something unique to try and it was truly an experience. It made me laugh out loud cause it was strange unexpected food experience in both flavor and presentation, I enjoyed it, but wouldn't order it again persay. It came out in a little whipped pile covered in cornflakes with green jalapeño jelly. I appreciated the richness and that it wasn't too sweet-- but overall I'd enjoy it more if it was presented more neatly, and there was a bit more spice on the plate to cut through said richness, although to their the deep sweet and earthy flavored of jalapeños was captured perfectly in the gel.

The restaurant was getting full by 6pm, so having a reservation is probably best. We finally got a chance to eat here and decided on the Tasting Menu ($95/pp, the whole table has to have it) because a lot of the dishes were items we were already looking at. We started off with some drinks, all the drinks were well balanced and not too sweet-perfect. For Tequila: Good Behavior & (Mezcal): Better Off Red were super delicious. Note for the tasting menu (for the 2 of us), they plated 1 dish per course so just note that you do not each get a separate plate so I'm assuming the portions are double (although I wonder what they do for a single person and the whole trout...). I guess it's nice to share a plate so my hubby could enjoy more food but seems like a lot of plates and silverware getting used/changed with each course so it makes me wonder why each person doesn't just get their own portion. Anyway, first course: I don't really like scallops, but these scallops was cool, refreshing with a very mild scallop flavor so I really enjoyed it! Second: tomato tart with goat cheese +heirloom tomatoes salad (very good), Third: Ricotta Gnocchi (YUM), a lot of pancetta pieces, Fourth: Whole trout (the chef removed 95% of the bones, yay, loved that. It was pretty mild taste which was overall good, I liked all the different mushrooms that came with it & Last: Banana Split- feels healthy with the banana there and wow, the cherries look like Luxardo ones. Honestly, this was a good amount of food (I wasn't overly stuffed thankfully but full). I would definitely recommend the Tasting Menu (note, no modifications/subs allowed) and was glad we ordered it. The pacing was not hurried (we were not in a rush), but they can definitely accommodate (bring 2 courses out at a time), if you need to be somewhere by a certain time for a show or game.
