The food was fantastic! The customer service was so kind and gracious. I really plan on eating here soon. I live all the way out in Pasadena, but whenever I find myself in Long Beach I find any excuse is to stop by Fishbone and indulge. Thank y'all so much for making good catfish. It was my first time! read more

I like the option of having the fish fried or grilled. Only been twice, both experiences were very good

Sucks and over priced for small portions of fish, ordered the 3 piece red snapper dinner with 2 sides for $13.95. I should have went to Louisiana fish fry on Atlantic Ave and Artesia, 3 piece dinner only $9.50 much bigger portions of fish and sides. Don't go here, this place is for rich people, not people that are in poverty... read more

I'm a glutton for punishment...I should have listened to the negative reviews below, but NOOOOO. I had to go & waste my hard earned money! Fish is seasonless & dry, NOT moist and flavorful. And yes the oil smells old. The traditional 'you buy we fry' spots will close this business down very soon. I'm not sure why they are masquerading as a fish place, you're much better off going to your neighborhood Louisiana spot or the Subway next door. I think they know this is sub par. Almost tastes like their is egg in the batter. All the negative reviews say the same things...so listen to the reviews people. It's almost like they want to serve you tasteless food so that you don't come back but so they can still claim to be a business?? It's aggravating that I searched out a black owned business to patronize & their fish is worse the the fish markets. GTFOH. There was only 1 other person in the restaurant and now I know why. I'll be going to my normal 'fishmonger' on Atlantic. I don't want a refund and nor do I want a replacement meal, as someone stated before, if it was bad the first time it won't be better the next time. (Oh and this is my second visit in 6 months) & based on the responses below from the owner, I don't even want a response. I'll just not patronage anymore. Do better folks. Glad I got a tuna sandwich from Subway as a backup. read more

First time here waited 15 mins to order there was one staff taking orders and preparing the food to go to the back to be fried. There was one cook preparing the meals. Waited 20 mins to get my food due to the line of customer waiting to order food was just sitting until all the customers were finished ordering. Got my food I ask for 2 hot sauce and 2 tarter sauce for the 2 meals I ordered and was told my manager says to only give one of each because it's homemade but I ordered 2 meals so I'm suppose to share my sauce and was told sorry I left it there being kind cause she was the only one working the register and preparing the food. Got home the fish has no seasoning and it's very dry. The Macaroni salad was alright the shrimp was good. Whatever the shrimp is cooked in Thats what the fish needs to be cooked in. Glad I could support this black business but I wont be coming back. read more

Fish Bone - Seafood Near Me - Long Beach, California

I order Fish and Shrimp, with fries, red beans and rice, and greens. I also ordered a grape soda. The fish I ordered was whiting, extra crispy. The Fish was soft, and rubbery. I was really disappointed, because it has good reviews. No Ma'am!!! I'll stick to driving to the hood, where the Fish is always good! Greens were good, and red beans and rice was mediocre. Best thing was the Grape Crush! read more

The first order that I had with Fish Bone was pretty good and satisfying. My last experience wasn't as such. I paid $15.00 for 4 fried oysters and a mound of fries, of which they probably thought giving me all those fries would make up for the lack of oysters that I received. What a rip off. I had been craving for fried oysters since my first order with Fish Bone and they had ran out of oysters, so I improvised with red snapper. Regarding this last order, I called and asked why there was only four oysters and the answer was that I should have order a jar of oysters. That was not the answer as to why I only had 4 oysters. They definitely lost a customer. read more

I actually was there today. The food is excellent. Had red snapper and shrimp. Cooked just right. Will definitely being going back. Friendly service as well. read more

This place is disgusting they don't even take a second to put salt on the fish the oysters are super greasy and flavorless I tried this place twice and I am not pleased at all it's disgusting if you like grease go there but just know it's not good for your heart read more

The location was clean and the young lady working the register was nice and helpful. She took time to explain and clarify the menu. She gave great recommendations. The wait was average for an establishment that's making your food fresh to order. The food looked good and tasted good. We even ordered dessert. read more

While the food is very tasty, the amount of fish they include in their dinners is very small. I was shocked and very disappointed. Just don't be hungry if you go there. read more

This has to be the worst catfish that I have ever had. I know that there is usually a difference between the way food looks on the brochure and the way it looks in real life but I expected so much more. This was truly one of those 'what I asked for vs. what I received moments. There was no flavor at all and the pieces of fish were so small. read more

Just had the pleasure of eating Fish Bone! This is my 4th time and it's always good and tastes fresh but today I tried a few different things and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly! I had fried salmon perfectly coated and lightly seasoned, grilled salmon that was grilled to perfection and still moist on the inside and fried shrimp which is always a hit! The fried shrimp is so good I had to double up on my order because now the kids like it. It's great to have a place close to home when you don't feel like cooking! And it taste like home! The icing on the cake was the sweet lady that took my order, she was kind and knowledgeable about the menu! read more

This place is fantastic! They have great food and awesome customer service. We came for a visit on a Friday and came back again on a Sunday with my hubby. Surely will be coming back. Highly recommend this place. You will surely get more than what your money's worth. read more

Food is awful and no flavor I asked for oysters and fish fried lightly it was over hard I spent 20 bucks on something I had too throw away. I was also excited about the black business in the neighborhood.. but I won't ever Go back there , everything was greasy and tasteless. read more

Can't give this place enough compliments. The food was on point and the staff was very polite. I went on their grand opening, the food came out in a timely manner, I ordered the grilled salmon and fried talpia and it was perfect. Fish was crispy not soggy, fries had a good seasoning on them and the collard greens with grilled veggies were perfect side read more

I strongly recommend Fish Bone and here's why... I heard about Fish Bone while visiting my neighbors across the street. They were placing an order and I inquired about the place. I used to go to Carson to Family Fish and get my fish and shrimp where many times their shrimp was not cleaned properly. But, Fish Bone was clean, neatly under the refrigeration container. I could buy by the pound, peace or meal. I opted for the pound. I think they are a little pricey but, they are convenient, clean and good. I also saw another friend from a few years ago and he told me that they not only fry, but they grill, which is what he gets most of the time. For desserts they had bean pie, sweet potato pie, peach cobbler and cake. Well anyone who knows me knows I love bean pie and peach cobbler. I paid for the fish and shrimp $24.?? and $8.?? for the 3 desserts. I am a happy customer and I had enough left over for tomorrow's dinner, breakfast or lunch, not sure which meal I will eat it for. But the fish was delicious, not too salty, spiced just right, sizes were right on point. I am not sure how long they have been there, but I know I WILL BE BACK! Thanks to the owners for the vision for Fish Bone to be close at hand. Oh yeah, they cook in veggie oil and the only meat in the greens is turkey. I don't eat pork nor beef. So Fish Bone will be my go to place. read more

Fish is delicious, the grilled shrimp is bomb ,saw the sign that it was coming to long beach and stalked it until it finally opened and have gone several times now ,nice clean and friendly operators ,please stop by and give them your business you will go back i promise even though a few kinks still need to be resolve but not a game stopper .. Black own business, is always great to see... A Well clean and neat establishment. The young lady who I placed my phone order with was very professional and helpful... The presentation was great but the fries weren't fresh and my Tilapia was gummy, but the rest of my order was delicious (shrimp, macaroni salad and peach cobbler). I will absolutely spread the word about the place and I most likely will return... read more

Do not order on online or through Grubhub! We placed an order first time trying this place we got there to be told they didn't have our order and as we get there we get an emails align the order was canceled. We called Grubhub and they tell us the order was cancelled because the restaurant couldn't not co firm the order therefore it was cancelled. She said they normally have 15 minutes to confirm the order or it gets cancelled but this time it was 25 minutes then it got cancelled which it shouldn't have done that she said. Sucks because we really wanted to try this place out. But we were not going to wait 45 minutes for 6 pieces of fried fish. read more

Best fish spot around. Grew up in the area and this is the only place you can find some black folks cooking anymore. Great service!

My go to spot for good seafood!! Had oysters fish and salmon all cooked really good . service was excellent!!

Fuk what all these other ppl talkin bout. I just got my first order today and i had my sides and automatically can taste the effort. Sides were busssin. Then when it came to the fried cajun catfish, it was literally perfect. The size, the fry, the crunch, the taste, the cooked finsh in the middle. Will definitely be back. read more

I ordered $70.00 worth of fish from this place and I was very disappointed! They're using dirty grease and all of the food is overcooked! I sent my Son to purchase enough for my large family and he came back with cold, overcooked, nasty fish! I ordered catfish and tilapia, fries, and hush puppies. Everything tasted the exact same! Spoke to the owner who agreed to replace my meal but I refused; they didn't do it right the first time. read more

Hello, The visit was pleasant. The staff get an A+ for service. Very clean store. I had the sole, shrimp with a side of greens. All of it too salty. Went back to my regular fish monger. I should have never left his side. I hope fish bone offers a low sodium option soon. I would love to support this business. read more

My husband and I love this place.! Very good food. One of our favorite go to spots. The two young ladies that are at the front counter are the best. They know just wand when I walk in. read more

I frequent this location at least once per week. I usually order the filet of sole dinner. The filet of sole is seasoned just how I like it. I typically order collard greens, french fries, or hush puppies. The potato salad is tasty as well. I like the healthier options at this Fish Bone as well. The shrimp salad is very tasty. In addition, the grilled fish is great, especially the salmon. I'm not always a big salmon fan, but the salmon at this location is well-seasoned. The staff are friendly as well. read more

I went there I ordered the fish and shrimp the food was so salty good night enjoy it the only thing I enjoy was the fries they need to lighten up on the seasonal salty as hell read more

After searching for a fish place in the city. We came across this place. I placed the order over the phone. Customer service was great no complaints. As she was patient while I was communicating between her and asking my grandmother what she wanted. Placed our order she said it would be ready in 20mins. So we made our way to Fish Bone, it wasn't crowded at all yet. There was 1 gentleman ahead of me. After he placed his order it was my turn, got up to the counter told her I was there for pick up. She grabbed my order and opened it up so I can see the food. Presentation was very nice. The portions were nice as well. I appreciate her customer service wish I would of gotten her name. But she was AWESOME!! I got back to my vehicle and gave my grandmother her plate which was the red snapper with fries and collard greens. Her fish was over cooked, the collards had no seasoning. Not even the meat which was the smoked Turkey leg. My fish was also over cooked. The only thing I like was the shrimp and fries. Oh and their house tartar sauce had a nice kick to it, also the peppers and pickles. Over all it was an ok place. Would I go back, ahhhh maybe not. If they improve on cooking their fish and add some seasonings to the collards maybe just maybe I'll give it another go. One more thing a bit over priced, I know we struggling out here but come on now. If the other place wasn't closed until the 10th. We were out there on the 8th we for sure would of hit that place up. Don't come for me now. This is MY opinion on MY visit there. Have a blessed day. read more
