Exactly what I was hoping for from a place like this. Food very solid quality for the price. The portions are literally astonishing. A COMPLETE container of the chicken you order, and then the rice coming in a separate pint container is so elite. Sesame chicken was perfection, and I liked the garlic chicken and wonton! A really good experience, will return! I think this is probably my go-to chinese takeout in austin from now on

Service is always extremely fast! Between my mom, my grandma and I. We at least get their food once or twice a month. The sesame chicken general tso's chicken and broccoli and lemon chicken are always solid. Every time when we have ordered! We usually get fried rice and hot and sour soup and those always hit the spot! Pick up inside. The store is always fast and easy. Can never go wrong with the lunch special that they run Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..

    Tofu with Broccoli

I'm simultaneous disappointed and impressed. Disappointed because when I order "broccoli with tofu," I expect deep-fried tofu with crispy edges, smothered in a garlicky brown sauce. A bit trashy, oily, but comforting and nostalgic. This version is decidedly more healthy, with huge chunks of steamed firm tofu in a very light, almost clear, almost flavorless sauce. That said, I really can't be mad; it was a TON of surprisingly healthy, fresh, and hot food. No lie, it must have been at least two pounds of protein and veggies, plus a pint STUFFED full of white rice, crispy wonton chips, and a fortune cookie. All of one regular entree order, not even a lunch special. Knowing this, absolutely I'd order again. Just spring for some hot chili oil to spice things up.

Spicy combo lo-mein and reg egg roll

Still hankering for potstickers/dumplings I decided to order from here as I haven't been in a while and remembered it being good. I called to put in an order for delivery but now they only deliver withing a 2 or 3 mile radius and apparently I'm about 5 miles. I wasn't going to order but after getting through my hairwash day and a quick yoga session I was hungry enough to fight the 5pm traffic. I called back and ordered combo lo-mein (spicy), steamed dumplings and 1 egg roll. I wasn't given my total over the phone but it didn't matter. I was told 15-20 minutes, which was just enough time to throw on sweats and get up the road. I made it there rather quickly. I'm sure before 20 minutes had passed since placing my order. I walked in and right up to the counter. The gentleman there wasn't overly friendly. Pretty blunt and straight to the point, asking me for my phone number immediately when I reached the counter. Surprisingly my food was ready and waiting! Even with his demeanor, he still found it within himself to fill me in on his allergy woes while he ran my card. I just found the juxtaposition a bit funny. I got home just as quickly as I'd made it to the restaurant and was seated and ready to eat in no time. To my delight everything was still hot and fresh. The lo-mein wasn't as spicy as I would have liked but I do find that most of the time. I think they try to account for the American pallet and not make it as spicy even when requested. Outside of that it was EXTREMELY tasty! It was loaded with meat, mostly beef. But there was also a ton of shrimp and I think it was pork. There was probably more meat than even noodles! and the veg was almost non existent. Even though I enjoy veggies I don't think anyone would complain about having an overload of meat in their dish. The egg roll was beautifully brown on the outside and fresh and crisp on the inside with the veggies and ground meat. It was exactly what a really good egg roll should be and for some reason so many places do wrong. Here, it's perfection. The dumplings said it came in a serving of 6 but my container had 8. I couldn't believe it! And they were so good!! The wrapper was the perfect thickness with no remanence of oil anywhere. I keep wasabi at home and I mixed it with the soy sauce and was in heaven. I only stopped coming here because there's a place closer and ones that deliver but none of them hold up to this place. I'll start coming here again because its more than worth the drive and definitely worth the money.

IS the dining room open for eating in , or are they only take out?

I just called them to ask this very same question. And they answered takeout only, no dine-in still.

    Is there a buffet?

    No, there is no buffet.

Also had a Fresa Paloma with Socorro Reposado Tequila, Contratto, strawberry, lime, grapefruit, five-spice that was very sweet and garnished with a flower. You are given a card where you can mark your dim sum selections. I ordered the Shrimp Pancake, Snow Crab Ball and Chinese Sausage Sticky Rice. The standout was the shrimp pancake that had a really great texture and flavor. The snow crab ball had a strange texture with shrimp surrounding the snow crab claw. The Chinese Sticky Rice is always a favorite. Also ordered the Truffle Egg Fried rice and Birds Nest with Seasonal Vegetable. The Truffle rice is so flavorful like a flavor explosion in your mouth. The Birds Nest is made with fried potato shreds which contain the a variety of vegetables including cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms and asparagus. The nest is also edible and has a crunchy texture. The presentation of the food is amazing and everything came out hot and fresh. The flavors were on point, and you can tell there's attention to detail in the preparation. Service was attentive outdoors and the pacing of dishes felt just right for a relaxed brunch. This restaurant is truly a gem whether you come for brunch or dinner service. Will definitely be back.

Service was fine but we were out front on the patio and though our waiter was attentive while we ordered, we ended up finishing and waiting 40 minutes for someone to come by so we could grab the check. I ended up just heading inside and the maître d' was able to close us out. Tables around us were open so I'm not sure what had them held up, and it could've been a one off, but definitely not ideal at this price point.

My boyfriend and I came here because of the great reviews, but unfortunately our visit was nothing like we expected. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The host literally pointed to our table instead of walking us to it, which immediately felt unwelcoming. No one introduced themselves or even told us who our server was, so we never knew anyone's name throughout the entire meal. Throughout our meal, no one checked on us even once, and we had to flag our waiter down multiple times whenever we needed something. Plates and drinks were also repeatedly slammed down on the table, which came across as rude and unprofessional. Every interaction felt rushed, and the staff acted like they were annoyed we were there. The customer service was awful, and it made for a really unpleasant first experience. While I've yet to find a Korean joint with a proper Korean mandoo on offer, Chinese varieties are thriving with the likes of Julie's Noodles, Steamies, Lin's and, the subject of my review, Dumpling World. Definitely don't expect ambiance here. After suffering the Triangle's persistent lack of parking, you'll walk into this place and find a really spare, almost utilitarian set up that screams "we mean business." They definitely mean business. I've probably been here a good 5-6 times, and have tried almost everything on the menu. Soup dumplings shine -- my daughter refuses to eat them anywhere else -- and their recently introduced thumb buns, which I think are fried mini soup dumplings, just ooze flavor. More traditional half-moon dumplings, no matter your filling of choice, steamed or fried, never disappoint. Don't ignore the non-dumpling items too. I don't know what the seasoning is in their green beans, but it's ridiculously delicious. You'll never look at green beans or haricot vert the same way ever again. Good, but unremarkable, are the soups and stews. Better to get those at other Chinese eateries. I don't mean to dissuade anyone from those, but did you really come to a place called Dumpling World to eat anything but dumplings? It gets crowded here at times so I recommend trying on a weekday evening. Uniformly, whether it's packed or slow, service is quick and courteous. With dumplings this good, it's clear that humility is one of the key ingredients to their consistency and quality.
