That felt a little ridiculous and not very accommodating, especially for something that seems like it should be an easy modification. The coffee was fine. No complaints, but nothing memorable. It did the job, but didn't stand out in any way. The one highlight was definitely the smashbrowns. They were crispy, well seasoned, and easily the best thing we ordered. If anything brought this up to three stars, it was those. Overall, it's not a bad spot, but it didn't live up to the hype or the pricing. There's no friendliness or efficiency among the staff. The server yelled across the restaurant, "was that 4 waters with lemon?" The customer care has spiraled into borderline rude and is definitely not the same as it was. I told the server and the owner that the hush puppies were cold and hard as rocks. The check rung up a haddock even though it was cod that was served. The burgers are very good, but they need to grill the bun since the bottom bun was super soggy. The owner needs to step up and take some responsibilities for the drastic changes in poorer service, too. Yeah, this is the best hotel breakfast I've had and it's money worth spending and Jim deserves a raise!
