While the interior is more modern than the bakeries I grew up visiting in Flushing, New York, the food itself reminded me of home. I picked up a hot dog bun and a custard egg tart from the bakery, then ordered the Hong Kong sticky rice and lychee mango fruit tea with boba (50% sugar, 50% ice). These are some of my favorite comfort foods, and while the prices were a bit higher than what I'm used to back home, I was pleasantly surprised by every item I tried. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The hot dog bun was soft, and the egg tart had a flaky crust with smooth custard. The sticky rice, wrapped in a lotus leaf, was warm, comforting, and had the subtle savory flavor I love. The fruit tea was refreshing, with real pieces of lychee and mango mixed in. On our previous visit to Orlando, we discovered Bakery1908 on Colonial Dr and we had breakfast there every. single. day. This time we stayed on I-Drive and found that they have a new location closer by in Lake Buena Vista, which we love even more than the first one. It's newer and way more spacious with a higher ceiling. The mural, the seatings and the greenery all help to create a very cozy and relaxed environment. It's busier too and harder to find a parking spot though. Their breads are so delicious, with so many varieties we always have a hard time deciding what to get, since we want them all! The swiss roll right by the entrance are delicious too! They also have cookies, and their crepe cakes are closest to Lady M than any other I've tried. You can tell that the crepe is really thin with rich layers of cream in between. It's an Asian bakery so the sweetness level is not as intense, and the bread dough is on the soft and pillowy side. Oh did I mention they also offer dimsum and a bunch of other things too. Yes, you can eat your breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea here. And probably still want more. read more

Was able to fit in a last minute visit 20 mins before closing (10p)! A lot of the bakery items had been sold by then which was a bummer because I was looking forward to trying a bunch of their buns. Inside is very clean, and spacious. However note that the parking lot is very limited, I can only imagine what the traffic and parking is like during the daytime. The blueberry cheesecake is my absolute favorite! When I visit again I will definitely make sure to snag one of these to eat. It's not too sweet which is great and the blueberry filling really adds to the overall taste of the dish. The matcha fruit tart was okay to me, nothing really stood out. My dad and I picked up baked bbq pork buns for my mom. It was easy to get in and out around 9:30 am. Entrance is at front facing the main road. They are next to the Burger King and share a building with a souvenir shop. Big selection of bakery items that looked fantastic. The kitchen opens at 10 am for dim sum items, so will need to come later in the day to try those! The pork buns are huge for $3.75. I signed up for the loyalty program and got one of my pork buns for free which I appreciated! I saw they even have delivery through Door Dash in case my parents crave dim sum but do not have a driver to bring them! Tiny parking lot in one of the busiest, most touristy part of town, so it's kind of a pain to get to, but once you get inside, the ambiance is grandiose and luxurious. A giant bun section open for the perusing, a wide open dining room with tranquil murals all over the wall. This is a good place to spend some time at and eat. Service is very friendly. At peak time of day, the buns always refill super fast. The dim sum orders took some time to make their way out to our table, but that's ok. I think this place does an insane amount of take-out business. Food was dynamite. Just look at those buns. Adorned with plenty of toppings that pack a wallop of flavor. Always moist and fluffy and the perfect levels of sweet and/or savory. One could make a breakfast, lunch, and dinner out of this section alone. The dim sum, though, that's what left the biggest impact on me. Dim sum places, I feel like, are trying to capitalize on the popularity and offer smaller and smaller portions. Small dumplings, poorly-filled buns, smaller meat-to-filler ratios, etc. Not Bakery 1908, though. They charge premium prices for them, but what you get are huge, plump, properly filled, and packed with flavor. Just wow. Overall, this is a great place. To be honest, I'm not sure how this place has such a high rating. I tried the taro rolls and they were incredibly hard and dry, with a filling that was just as tough. I was excited to order the cotton candy pudding since I love that flavor, but it tasted more like blue raspberry than cotton candy. I also ordered a hot rose oolong tea and asked one of the staff members for honey, but she couldn't understand English or Spanish. When I asked another employee, he told me they didn't have any honey, which was surprising.. The shrimp dumplings were the only decent item I tried. I was disappointed by this place, primarily the service. When you walk in, to the right, you'll see an array of baked options that you can walk through and choose for your tray. When we got to the front, it was like the cashier was in another world while cashing us out. She asked if I wanted to go or dine-in, and I told her to go. She then prepared our things for dine-in. When I told her again that it was to go, she argued, " you said dine-in." which I thought was a weird response even if I had (though I didn't). Will visit anytime I'm in the area. I'm a big fan of their cheesecake as it's fluffy and light and not overly sweet like a typical cheesecake would be. I'm also a fan of their fruit filled buns, the Bavarian is my favorite, but I really liked the pineapple and blueberry ones as well. What really brings me in is their teas though. I usually leave with 2 - one for now and one for later. I only sat down to eat once, but it was just a snack, the place is huge though with lots of seating space. Ah so happy I found this location of this bakery! Upon entrance you smell all of the delicious baked goods lol. It was hard to choose from so many things!!! You pick a tray and tongs and choose all the options you want. We grab a few breads and a Japanese cheesecake. At the counter you can order drinks, I got the strawberry slush and my fiancé got a mango lemonade and because it was his birthday he got a free drink and cake. The egg tart definitely wasn't favorite, by my girlfriend loved it. I didn't really like the texture. The tiramisu was pretty good, not too much to say here - tasted like it should've. I'm here on vacation and happened to see this place right by our hotel. We happened to stop by for brunch for some pastries and coffee. It did not disappoint. There was a lot of choices from sweet to savory pastries. Definitely had to take some to take back home. Drink wise we ordered the brown sugar Oreo milk tea and the coconut mango slush. Wow this space is much more open than there first location. We had been to that location once. This one was so nice. We ordered two cakes cookies and cream and mango mousse cake. We both agreed they really don't have any flavor. I don't know if it's just this type of cake or what. I checked out their buns. They look good but I didn't opt for any at this time. They also have quite a bit of food, dumplings, noodles etc. they all sound good but we just wanted dessert. They had cookies and cakes and basque cheesecake and cheesecake and we got the mousse cake. I'm personally a bigger fan of their first location, just because they have bigger tables and more outlets, and therefore an easier place to work out of. But that's not to discount this location, which might be better for just meeting up with friends. The servers are super friendly and really quick at clearing out tables. Dropped in for a quick lunch and we here impressed. I was so worried about lines and waits since I had heard that since opening it's been so busy. But we went on a Sunday afternoon. When we arrived we walked the bakery section then saw an iPad to place an order on so we did. Once we sat we realized we could order from our phones which would have been another great option. Of course if you prefer talking to someone there is a counter to order at. The place is much larger than I expected. There was plenty of seating and the place was clean and bright. Came here twice during my stay nearby and couldn't have found a more perfect place to get a snack, meal, and a bubble tea fix. This place is so much bigger than I had expected, but that could be my NYC confined space mentality coming out. I was actually very surprised to see the wide selection of Chinese pastries and buns, given that the majority of the customers on both occasions being non-Asian. I was a bit overwhelmed by their massive selective, to be honest. I wouldn't say the food is amazing but it does the job if you're craving something different, given the selection in Orlando and especially in this part of town. I had the pineapple bun and egg tart and they were alright, but definitely handy as a snack. The truffle har gows were nice to keep me over for a bit but the rice roll was pretty average. Also got one of their fruit teas, which they had some fresh slices of fruit in and that was refreshing. Overall, great place to get breakfast or a snack. Prices are a bit high. Honestly, the dim sum was a bit expensive, but the quality is much better than most other dim sum places that I've been to on the East Coast. The siu mai had a thin skin and was full of filling. The har gow skin was thicker but still filled with shrimp--the truffled version was the same but with the truffle taste. The pork and chive dumpling was also equally delicious and their tofu is very different from other tofu dishes --I didn't like the sauce with it but it was good. The soup dumplings were way too salty and the bang bang chicken was saucy but lacking flavor. You can order at the front counter or use the QR code but it is faster at the counter. Super cute atmosphere. Helpful staff. This reminds me of a bakery out in California called 85 degrees. Plenty of sweet and savory baked goods. They have a big selection of Asian foods which we didn't buy this time but excited to try next time we come in. Only thing that was worth warning people is the lid on the plastic coffee cups. I'm back! Everything is as described and I keep coming back to try more! Today, I tried the taro steamed buns and the Jajang udon noodles. Keep in mind the buns have minced pork in them. I didn't notice the sausage at all. It does have a grainy texture inside probably due to the taro. The noodles are set in a more gravy base that isn't your typical sweet sauce so keep that in mind as well and it also has the minced pork. I definitely would prefer ( especially in the noodles) slices of pork rather than the minced and thicker pieces of the veggies. All in all, yummy! The Sicilian Americano was interesting...almost like a Mexican coffee with the lime in it and a twist on like an Aperol spritz almost but in coffee form. Ok but, prob won't get that one again. This is Orlando's second location and so happy to have it close to the Southwest part of town super close to Disney! Bakery 1908 has high quality dimsum and Chinese bakery goods available for people of all tastes. Sweet and savory buns, boba tea drinks, and a full menu of hot items like traditional dim sum, fried items, dumplings, and noodle bowls. Having tried a variety of items, by far my favorite and go to are the rice rolls! They are the wrinkly not smooth type which shows it's made extremely fresh and traps sauce better, the best I've had in the South! Inside is great for families or studying/working alone with wide open spaces with plenty of seating, outlets, and booths. Ordering is via kiosk or cafe style. My only gripes are the pricing can run on the higher side than hole in the wall spots and that it never seems to have its full menu run available when I go for lunch. Parking is a little wonky and easy to get stuck in traffic badly if gone wrong. Best way is to go down Palm Parkway and turn in towards Olive Garden. Head all the way down and there is alley parking on the hidden side of the building. It shares a building and connecting door with a giant gift shop. read more

The bakery is huge and it feels like it's trying to do too many things. My strawberry milk tea was okay. It had way too many chunks of strawberry in it. We went later in the evening and it was pretty dead, it's connected to a gift shop. The blueberry tart was very good. The service was fine. I got their rainbow cake bites, flaky roast pork pastry and blueberry croissant thing. Also had a chance to try their signature fruit tea drink. Everything was delicious, pastries were light, airy, flavorful. Wish the roast pork puff had a little bit more inside. Located near the Disney Springs area this location provides a little bit of everything. They have a small parking lot to the side of the building that fits maybe 25 cars. Location has an eclectic menu of bakery items as well as kitchen/cafe items. Everybody that we interacted with was super friendly. I often to start with the vegetable eggrolls, which were incredibly hot when they came out and fresh. I also did the creature your own noodle bowl, which is basically create your own Ramen. I chose to go with the chicken broth and Ramen noodles with beef as my protein.Beef came as a wonton in my soup and I'll be honest, I took one bite and realized it was boiled beef and that was the end of it for me. I absolutely love it this little bakery it is so close to the Disney Springs area and the shops of a 535 as well as Palm Parkway. This bakery is an Asian style bakery with dim sum, Ramen, coffee, and tea. Today I went to go check out what pastries they have and many of them are gone; however they did have one caterpillar bun left for four dollars and one peach bun left for three dollars so I picked both of those up and then I grabbed an ice tea for six dollars. The girls at the counter are very nice and I saw them cleaning and restocking the shop as well. Apparently they do very well on a Sunday because most of their pastries are gone.
